Kia of Irvine Reviews (55)

Selling Practices, I talked to Mrs [redacted] on the phone Saturday 02/16/and at that time I told her that the cars was available and we would except a credit card for $on said vehicle and we would take a personal check as long as we could verify the account was valid this is the same process with all our guest to our facilityAfter our conversation I expected she would return to Kia of Irvine and we would complete the transaction and we never talked to her again Thank You [redacted] Kia of Irvine

To whom it may concern: On behalf of Kia of Irvine we would like to apologize for any confusion or inconvenience Mr [redacted] experienced during his negotiation processThe dealership as a policy adds aftermarket alarms to all of our vehicles for insurance purposes and we do give the customer the option to purchase the alarm or to remove itWe have re-explained to our staff the importance of having this disclosed immediately to all customers before finalizing their paperworkWe appreciate Mr ***’s input and we look forward to the possibility of still earning his business Sincerely, [redacted] ***

I really wish I had read all the previous reviews before we bothered to spend any time at Kia of Irvine Everything said on those reviews were accurate We too arrived about an hour and a half prior to close (due to work and driving distance)We test drove several Kia vehicles with R**k (one of the sales guys) who didn't have a great bed-side manner We told him that we would return the next day to test drive some more and to see the cars during the daylight hours He was very put out and upset that we didn't want to purchase anything that evening We arrived the next day and after waiting about minfor him to acknowledge us, he came over and told us flat out that he didn't have time for us We got another salesman, Farhad, who was friendly and let us test drive a few more carsWe made a decision to purchase a Kia Forte with miles on it (still brand new as it hadn't been sold in 2017-because it was a manual transmission) Kia of Irvine listed this specific car (along with other manual Forte cars) on their website for $ They also had a military discount for $that was listed on their website which would expire on July 31, What a great deal! BTW, you needed to bring in proof (like a DD214) showing you were active, retired or a veteran At first, they were not going to honor that discount, claiming it was only for new vehicles...except that I printed out the paper showing it was for a car if we were going to finance through them (which we were) So Farhad had to go to his manager and make sure they would honor it He came back gleefully and asked to see the "proof" to which I gave his sad little face the DDpaperOh, it gets better Farhad arrived back with some numbers and set the papers before us asking what monthly payment we would like We kindly told him we wanted the breakdown of the price and the price out the door with the tax, title and cost of the car He again went back to his manager Came back after another minwith a breakdown of the car's cost Funny enough, after tax, licencing and car cost it was only $13k (give or take a few hundred), yet the price at the bottom of the paper was a little over $19k We asked what the breakdown for this was and he said, "Extra insurance, car alarm, etc." So they were "options" that we never wanted or asked for....interesting We told him that we liked the $13k price and not interested in any of the "options" since the still had a yr warranty on it He went back to the manager's office and was there for another minutesWhen he finally showed up, he had the "finance lady" with him (A**y) who informed us that there was a "communication problem happening, that the options were not really options, but what we would pay if we wanted the car." My husband said this was advertisement, she got testy and said, "that's the price we put up so people come in and these cars are flying off the shelf like hot cakes." I had to respond to her comment stating, "Yes, obviously, since you have of them in stock since Dec2016." Needless to say, she wasn't very nice and we walked out of there without a car I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone ever....I highly suggest you do not shop for a car here and warn everyone you know about this place! If I could give them a negative 5-star rating, I would!

I was shown a car that had Home-Link, mud flaps, roof rack, rubber floor matts, and everything that came with the next model that had the accessories! They told me that I would get the accessories for no extra costOnce the paperwork was signed they said, "Sorry we made a mistake, the answers no."

This is in regards to the complaint listed below by [redacted] complaint number [redacted] We contacted Mr [redacted] and issued him a refund on his alarm purchaseHe expressed his satisfaction and we now consider this matter closedSincerely, [redacted] ***

We were defrauded by this dealership, and in my opinion, this is a pattern for this company I was brought by my friend to Kia to buy my first car in the USWe agreed on a price and my friend left me to do the closing paperwork, trusting the dealer to act ethically (Full Cash deal, so it should have been easy, right?) However, in closing paperwork they added a item for an aftermarket Alarm, taking advantage of my inexperience as a car buyers in US ( I thought it was part of the tax, licenses and transfer fees, as they explained)After returning to the dealer, I spoke with Sammy [redacted] , and he essentially told me that hey, I signed the paperwork so too badFYI: There is NO aftermarket alarm even in the car, so this was an invented charge for a non-existent itemThey even admitted there was no such aftermarket alarm in the car, since it has a factory alarm It appears I am not the first to experience this scam, as other reviewers on numerous websites describe the same occurrence I contacted Mike Knapp, the GM, who promised to call me back about this issue and failed to do soI have adult witnesses to the deal that was made I am told this type of fraud in the closing paperwork used to be reserved to low-end used car dealers, yet here I find it in a supposedly premier car dealer I suggest going somewhere else if you want a KIA

DO NOT trust them, Kia of Irvine is a bunch or liars, I left a car and I took a new one they said they will take care of the last payments and it took over 3 months for them to finally do it and only because I kept calling and emailing everyone there and corporate office, Summy, Rocio and Daniella Ortega, they have no customer service knowledge at all, and they lie, the said they will take care of the problem and call me back with confirmation, they NEVER, NEVER did, they didn't bother to call me back to follow up, they never answer my messages and they refuse to answer me. DO NOT trust them.

We purchased a new car from them in Since then, they continue to contact me through mailings, emails, live and robo-calls, about trading my car in, buying another car, etcI have emailed them and called them numerous times asking, then demanding that they stop contacting meI had a horrible buying experience because they tried to bait and switch me and the transaction took hours for an all cash deal! They apologize and say they will remove me and yet it continuesAt this point I consider this as harassmentIt's too bad because we like the car

I purchased a Kia Optima LX at the Kia of Irvine on aPRIL 6,I was told that the loan was "approved" and asked twice before signing any papersThe seller (Howard) and the closer (Michael) and I all came to an agreement on the price and a 3.9% interest rateIt has been days to this day that I have not received any paperwork including my account number for my loan so I called *** *** (the finance manager who assisted me in signing the contracts) and left a voicemail Monday April 18thI gave her ample time to return my call before calling back on Wednesday April 20thI called at approximately 9:and asked the speak to Michael (the sales manager) the receptionist informed me that he was "in a meeting" and took my information downI had not received a call by 2pm so I called *** personal cell phone number and left a messageWhen I did not hear back from him I contacted the dealer and the same receptionist got extremely offended when I asked for corporates number,

Here is the bottom line, I paid for a DEI systemI didn't drive away with that system installed in my car, I had a KARR system the previous owner had installedMy car rolled out of my driveway and was stuck in neutral, and everything was locked up, this was minutes after leaving the dealershipAnd the alarm tech that was sent out to fix my car verified it was the wrong system he was called out for to fixHe has photographs of the KARR installed on my vehicleI paid for something I didn't receive
I visit the website beforehand, see the used car I want to test drive at $19,I arrive at 9:50am, after I test drive the car, I am told they can knock the sticker price from $24,to $22,Weird right? I text this update to my momMy mother called Kia of Irvine to ask about that specific car and that specific price, and when the sales consultant comes back to me, he tells me he can go to $19,GG mom's right?
Make sure your car can turn off and start back up before leaving the dealership

Although Hyundai and Kia are well known for offering the best powertrain warranties in the industry -- years or 100,miles -- these legendary warranties aren't transferable to a new ownerFortunately, the warranty doesn't become completely invalid when a new owner buys the car; it just changes to years or 60,miles of powertrain coverage
They will talk as if 10year/100,is the manufacturer warranty for used cars stillIt's not and it is ~$3,extra

Everything is finalized by 1:30pmI leave, drive home, and park the car in the drivewayAt 2:15pm I want to drive my parents in my new car and I push the start button, put it in reverse and it just rolls out into the street almost hitting a passing carWTF! The car is stuck sitting in neutral, in the street, and won't startCall the sales guy who tells me "Let me call you back, probably the LoJack"minutes later "OK give me your address and I'll come out to you"Immediately after that call I get a text saying "Sorry, XXXXXX sais that he isnt coming to youI will be there in minutes and getyou on your way." OK sureHe arrives at 3:50pmLooks at my car and tells me oh they installed the wrong one in your car
and within a minute he disconnected it and it starts up just fineThere is no LoJackAnother lie from these people
Turns out that the previous owner had installed an after market alarm system that Kia of Irvine felt was good enoughCharging me for an alarm that they didn't installIf I hadn't paid the $would they have uninstalled the alarm system? *** scamIf my car didn't lock up was I ever going to receive the alarm that I paid for?

Kia of Irvine refuses to give viable compensation for totaling my car in their garageThey have incredibly poor communication, disregard for Kia Brand, disrespect for the customer; their time and patience, potentially performing shady and underhanded business methods, and have the utmost refusal to take accountability for their actions and make the situation right for the customer
I took my car to Kia of Irvine early June for an engine rattleThey misdiagnose my car and I had to bring it back inWhen they "finally" diagnosed it three weeks later, they reported to me a "minor" accident happened in their garage - but they would have it repaired and the expenses to be taken care of by themAnother month passes and they tell me the car engine is fixed but my car was beyond repairMy wife and I spoke to *** ***, their General Sales Manager, and obtained informationKeep in mind there has been little to no information or status updates about my vehicle while it was in their c

Sammy Sheikh is aggressive with customers and almost stepped on my finger trying to get his card/name
Tony Towhidian doesn’t ask directly if you want to buy a $alarm system, but if u are signin paperwork quickly he will check “activate” and u will sign for the system, even if u don’t want itYou don’t have to agree to that and if it happens to you, go back and get your refund like I did!! Buyer beware!!!!!
If I could give zero stars I wouldSales person David Martinez was awesome then was passed over to Tony Towhidian to sign the papers and found out the next day that I had signed to have an alarm that was already on the car “activated” when really he checked that off and rushed me to sign without explaining my option to opt out of the $alarm that I didn’t wantWas rude and dismissive on the phone the next day but agreed to give me a credit on the alarm and I agreed to come down to resign paperwork to correct this errorWhen I get there the next day he says that since he had actually mistaken me for “another Mel” and that I didn’t even need to drive all the way down there (I live in La Habra, the dealership in in Irvine) ..I said I still needed to get paperwork about my alarm credit so while in that office, him and Finance Manager Sammy Sheikh he apologizes for having me drive down there and for the mistaken identity and Sammy agrees to have my gas filled upI said ok so we walk outside and I hand someone my keys to fill it up then I ask Sammy how will I get my credit for the alarm? He then proceeds to tell me that there is nothing he can do about it that the loan was already sent out, that there was a new law in California that makes everything on the car sold”itemized” so it was included in the price so he couldn’t do anything about it, that it was my word against Tony’s since I had already signed the paper!! He I said then I said that I need to talk to someone else since we were getting no where and he told me that “there is no one else to talk to” So I asked for his name and he refused to give me his name so I asked for his card and he refused to give me his card so I took a picture of his card in his office through the window so he said “ok ok” and opened the door to let me in his office but then he proceeded to dump the cards upside down on his desk so I couldn’t see them!! When one fell on the floor, I went to get it and he pushed me away and stomped down hard onto the card almost smashing my finger so I couldn’t get itI did get it and he then told me I needed to leave out of a side doorI couldn’t even believe I was treated in that manner and was so shaken up that I just walked out and realized that my car was getting filled up so I couldn’t even leaveI walked back into the front to talk to someone about what had happened to me and Jeff Jones was then able to give me the credit that was originally promised to me in the first placeBut how Sammy Sheikh treated me was wrong, unprofessional, and a reflection of how they do business at this dealerJeff Jones was helpful in correcting their mistake but continued to ask ME to calm down after this kind of treatment and at no time addressed Sammy Sheikh’s aggressive behavior towards meI walk away feeling wronged on a couple levels and hope that u don’t have to experience that same kind of treatmentIf you want to get treated like dirt come to KIA of Irvine

I guess I had to give one starI have had nothing but problems with my Kia OptimaThere have been a total of or recalls at this pointI’m December my turbo was recalled and they stated they had fixed the problemCurrently my turbo is brokenKia stayed I owe them $to fix itI escalated to Kia consumer affairs explains simply that “you recalled my turbo last yearnow it’s brokenhow is this not on you?” Needless to say Kia denied my claim and states I am responsible to fix the carThat’s not right Kia
Buyer beware - there are lines of people outside of service waiting for engines to be replaced or different issues with the cars to be fixedDO NOT BUY A KIA

I bought a Mitsubishi Outlander Sport from Kia of IrvineThe sales person *** told me the car had no accidents and a clean car faxWhen I went into the dealership on Thursday March 24, I specifically asked *** if the car had a clean car fax and had no accidentsHe verbally said to me that the "carfax was clean and the car had no accidents," he later said he would show me the carfax to confirm, I didn't think much of it at the time because I was at a KIA Dealership and thought I could trust him
After going through a grueling, exhausting, aggressive, and disrespectful sales process that included *** and his sales manager physically standing between my year old mom and myself between the exit door of the office because my mom was getting hungry and thirst and wanted to get food and coffee at the local ***I told *** and his manager that we wanted to go to *** to get coffee and food and they suggested I get coffee in the lounge I insisted we be allow

The customer/sales service at his location is AWFULI understand car salesman have always had a bad reputationHowever the lack of professionalism, they way they treat you and your hard earned money, and the fact that they can't even keep their own lies straight is DISGUSTINGMy wife and I went in with an approved offer from Capital One NavigatorAll they had to do was enter my reference # in the navigator systemAs this location is an approved locationWhen we arrived and gave them the information we had they came back stating that the car was actually $more than what was listedAnd that according to their information we had to put even more down than the $1500, our APR was going up percent and our payments would be about $moreThis made NO senseWe had an approved offer, we had already spoken to Capital One and were told the processCome to find out they had ran our credit through different banksCausing us to now have hard hits on our creditThe paperwork we signed was NOT what was sent to Capital oneThey sent completely different numbersWhen we called to talk to them they said it wasn't a big dealWe drove back down there minutes form our home And our sales guy told us the manager just wanted us to go away so he was willing to discount the car $

I am wanting the service , the maintenance and the theft deterrent contracts voidedI did not want them but was told they came with the car and was misled that I was being charged for themThey forged my signature on both the service and maintenance contracts and they were the ones that filled in all the required information on them I was never asked any questions about them, therefore I never answered a single question that's required to filling them outI was never shown even shown this contracts After seeing what they have done here I don't want anything to do with the theft deterrent they charged me for These three items ( the maintenance and service contacts) and the theft deterrent add up to $I believe by forging my name on the contracts I am entitled to the interest that I am having to pay the loan Co for borrowing that money

On 09/09/I was brought to this dealership by a friend to assist me in buying a car as I am newly arrived immigrant from EuropeI was accompanied by my wife & adult daughterWe negotiated a cash price for a car The dealer verbally provided a total price so that my friend could give them a check, which was to include the cash price, plus "tax, license, and transfer fees"Upon providing the dealer the full cash price, my friend left for us to complete the cash transactionLater, upon showing my friend the paperwork, he saw there was an additional charge for an aftermarket alarm ("DEI Alarm")There is no such alarm on the car and none was asked for or offered, and this item does not constitute "tax, license or transfer fees", the only items to be added to the agreed up priceThe dealer admits there is no such alarm on the car, and told me and my friend it was too bad since I signed the paperwork I have found at least other such complaints from other consumers on
