 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: I will accept the response when they have followed through and my credit is restored. Since my initial complaint, I have received additional rejection letters and a copy of my credit report from [redacted]. There have been a total of six requests generated by Kia of [redacted] and my credit score has dropped about 50 points as a result of these requests. The requests were made with my nickname, not my given name, and included incorrect information. I do not believe that the file should be closed until these requests are removed from my credit report and my credit score is restored to its original high standing.

Well we received [redacted]'s credit application through our website on 12/31/2014. People go to get financing on our website and fill out and application and click to verify that they understand we will be making credit inquiries to help them obtain a loan. She then came into the dealership...

on 01/02/2015 after she was told we did receive her information online and was pre approved and to come in. So she did and she wanted to get approved on a new car. The dealership now has to submit her credit information to different lenders to shop the best rate and term for her to get her into a new car. Sometimes it takes 2 banks sometimes it take 15 banks for 1 of them to answer back with an approval that works. It is not up to the dealership on who gets approved it is up to the lenders we work with. In this Scenario we submitted it to 6 different lenders looking for a approval that would work for Alex's situation, but was not able to do so. Kia of West Chester was in no way wrong for submitting her information and when people inquire about getting a loan on a new car there are going to be multiple inquiries just like when shopping for a mortgage.  We can not reverse the inquiries.  When shopping for anything that involves credit inquiries are going to be made, depending on people's credit history will determine how many lenders it will need to be put to, the lower or higher risk the credit the more inquiries will be made to keep the rate as low as we can state max rate in PA is 18% for new. If we get a bank that says yes at 18% we try and get better to offer a lower rate to the consumer, if we did not do that we could never offer the lowest deal possible and would not be fair if a customer SAID OK TO 18% but could of received 15% from another lender, but was never offered the 15% because we did not send the information over to multiple lenders to get the lowest possible rate.  I hope this explanation helps

As I stated in our earlier response we are in the process of getting the inquiries removed but it does take some time. I understand she rejected the previous response it was not a final response. As soon as I get verification [redacted] has removed the inquiries I will let everyone know. But we are working on it and have all intentions of correcting it.

I am  sorry it did not work out.  Jason does not and will not promise or guarantee a bank approval and final payment. He will only stress that with the right scenario it could work out. The dealership does look at the credit and then we submit it to the banks to get a final approval with a...

term and interest rate so we can calculate the payment. There was multiple banks involved with trying to obtain an auto loan for the applicants. Unfortunately even using 11 different banks not one was willing to approve an auto loan for this deal. It is not the dealership that makes that final call, and we will never stress that we guarantee that people will be approved and will be able to get their dream car at the payment they want. We listen and let them know our goal is to find a vehicle that will work but the only way to find out if it can work or not is if the customer is in the showroom.  Our dealership is only successful when people come in and banks offer loans, if a customer is turned down the dealership can not sell a car it is a lose lose so we do not want that to happen as much as the customer does not.  The trade in had such a high balance that trading it in was increasing the monthly payment on the new car significantly and the salesperson was going over the options now he says he never said repo but asked if someone could take over the payments.  Which made sense since the customers agreed not to trade the vehicle in. At the end of the day the customers want to get a car and are disappointed that they could not. If the banks gave them an approval yesterday they would be in a new car and they never would of been upset that they drove far to get there, or they were sent to 11 banks, or they did not trade their car in . They are upset now because they could not buy another car yesterday but it is not the dealerships fault in those hours they were at the store waiting we tried getting them a loan. We called multiple banks spending over an hour in total on the phone trying to talk to a loan officer to get them to give the customers a chance. It was sad to hear that the banks are not willing to loan money to people with this particular credit circumstance. We tried over and over again and finally when we got our final no from the last bank remaining we told the customers unfortunately the banks are not willing to loan the amount of money needed to get into a different car at this time. We apologize of course because it is not the answer we want to give people. But the fact of the matter is not everyone will get approved there's a credit criteria the banks go by and some people make it others do not .  I know this response does not get the customers a new car like they are demanding but the reality is we can't just gives cars to people because they want it and they only want to X amount that is not how it works. There has to have some money exchange hands whether the customer pays cash or they get a loan from the bank. But there is no scenario where a customer gets a car without either.  I would recommend the customer seek financing from their personal bank or credit union.

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
KIA is simply speaking semantics today. I spoke with someone earlier who quite literally laughed at me. They are wrong to run inquiries on someone's behalf more times than the person would accept when asking for a general expected interest rate. How are they to know the next place they run it is going to be less than their own? It is not up to them to make this decision. I only signed paperwork because the salesman I was working with said his printer wasn't working. What a joke. I feel so disrespected.

Review: I got a card in the mail and it said to scratch off and match your number to see if you win. So I did so, and I got a number that was on the card. It said below to call this number if you win and enter another code, so I did. The automated voice said congratulations your prize is at kia of west chester. So I packed my 5 month old son up and drove to the dealership. Where this guy said well you technically didnt win anything yet we have to match the code up to some other code to be able to win. Nowhere on the card did it explain that or I wouldn't have taken my son out in 91° weather. I've had many problems before with the dealership about my car finally they fixed it after going in 10 times or so and having to email the higher ups. And now they are doing false advertisement. I will NOT recommended this dealership or the other [redacted] dealerships to anyone. They are rude shady and ignorant. And they should not be allowed to do false advertisement like that.Desired Settlement: Refund or delivery of promised prize

Business

Response:

The mailer that was sent out does have all the proper disclaimers on it and is not in anyway false advertising. The Company who does this mailer and prize claim is called Direct Dealer Services and they have been doing it a long time and pride themselves in being compliant in every state they practice in. There is a grand prize winner out there, and for everyone else they will receive a consolation prize. All odds and probability are stated in the disclaimer of the ad.

Review: when I first received the car they had to put parts in it and they checked it and said it was ok a week later it was smoking I took it back again and they also told me it was fine again I tried to take it to [redacted] City and it died on the expressway it was the engine the extended warranty people would not pay for the repairs so the auto shop agreeed to let me make payments till I had all the money to get it fixed in New Jersey and it took me 3 months to come up with the money in addition to still making car payments and insurance payments I got the car back and the car died again so out of the whole time that I've had the car I probably drove it 3 months out of the whole time of having it and I've been paying out of pocket for repairs and everytime I try to call to speak with the head owner [redacted] they give me the runaround and they will let me speak to him. I cant ask the extended warranty people to take the car back or they will consider it a repo and it will affect my credit so I'm stuck paying payments for a car that will not runDesired Settlement: I either want all my money back I paid for the car and for all the repairs or if they're willing to replace the car with another car because I will not take that car and I do not want repairs done to that car because I believe its not supposed to run and it should be on the road

Response:

Attached is the work we performed on [redacted]'s car, at no charge to her at any time. I understand her frustration but we cannot predict the future on when a car will break or what will break. I do know we put a lot of work into the car when she bought it to make it safe and had her bring it back 3 weeks later when she said it was smoking and we fix that at no extra charge. We try to do as much as we can. After the second fix on 03/20, she never brought the car back to us. She said the the extended warranty company turned her claim down but I have no record of that, she must of brought it to another dealer. I can't fix something that I do not have in my shop. Because of credit history she had to go through our guaranteed credit approval which is a company by the name of [redacted], they approve everybody as long as they meet a low $800 month income. Since they are so open on who they will give a loan to they are pretty strict on the type of car they will loan out. They are usually older less expensive cars so they can be paid off in a shorter time period than regular financing. They like low payments for a short term with an extended warranty for 2 years. It is a High risk loan for the bank and the customer because we all know older cars with higher miles have a better chance of breaking down than a newer car with low miles. She does have an extended warranty for 2 years I'm not sure why they would not cover her previous problem because we were not involved it went to a different shop. I disagree with her resolution, once again I understand and sympathize with her but I do not agree that we did any wrong doing. We went above and beyond any other car dealership would of, it is very rare for a franchise dealer to have [redacted] to help her get into a car, if she did not do that with us her only other choice out there is buy here pay here and that would be and older car with high miles no warranty and they definitely would not have put the money into the car like we did for her. I did have the salesperson reach out to her a couple of times to see if we can trade her out but there was no answer and no phone call back as of yet. I am willing to help her out as much as I can we want to try and get her out of that car and into another.

Review: I went to Kia Of Coastville AKA JAS Auto on February the 19th 2013 and worked with [redacted] he took all my info and then showed us a car a 2011 Chevy impala vin # [redacted] and when we returned form the test drive he presented me with the offer for the impala 322 a month for 60 month with 3000 down payment we agreed to the terms and we met with [redacted] who is there fiance manager and he had me fill out all our loan paper work and then gave me the keys and me and my wife and son left in our new Chevy impala after about 8 days on February the 27th the dealer called and told me there was an issue with my check can I please come in to sort it out I explained to the office manager that my checkbook was stolen and that I would have the bank draw up a draft check and all was good she was happy and as I was about to leave [redacted] called me in to his office and advised me that the bank had pulled my loan but would not give me a reason and then the general manager [redacted] proceeded to call the police because they felt that I was trying to defraud the dealership which is not the case at all [redacted] proceeded to inform the office that the dealership wasn't going to press charges as they think it was just a misunderstanding the police took my info and then proceeded to take my employees info as they wanted to see if my pay-stubs where valid on February the 28th the police called my boss and proceeded to inform him that they where looking in to an issue and wanted info from my boss he provided info relevant to their issue but refused to give any more info beyond that as he felt that it was not necessary and the police advised they would charge him with obstructionDesired Settlement: I would like to have my car back and this whole issue dropped as I feel it was just one big misunderstanding

I would also like the dealer to make it clear to the police that there where no charges pressed and that to be the end of it

[redacted] came to our dealership on February 19, 2013 attempting to purchase a 2011 Chevrolet Impala . We sent his information to several banks and he was then pre-approved by [redacted] with the stipulation that [redacted] provided a W-2 as proof of income. At the time of delivery the customer wrote us a personal check for his downpayment in the amount of $3,005.00 as well as all the documents required by [redacted]. On February 25, 2013 , [redacted]'s check for his downpayment was returned for Insufficient Funds . At that point we immediately contacted the customer to discuss the bounced check. [redacted] was claiming that his check book was stolen and his account was frozen by bank until investigation was complete but he could not provide us with any documentation or a contact name at his bank to verify his claim. He said that he simply called the customer service number at bank and they processed it for him. I knew from past experience that that is not the way banks handle these situations so I asked him to come to dealership to discuss. When [redacted] come in to discuss his check that was returned , we then contatced [redacted] to make sure that all the information that was provided by [redacted] had been verified so that we would be funded for this contract. They then proceeded to inform us that they could not verify employment or his income that he provided. They had suspected that the pay stubs were fabricated . We then realized that none of the information provided from customer was accurate. We then contacted the police department . They questioned our employees and [redacted] and after further investigation by the police department they informed us that [redacted] was currently on probation for writing bad checks and they extremely encouraged our dealership to press charges against [redacted] due to the fact that he has several other similiar charges . I was completely shocked when I received this complaint today. We were the victims in this situation. Thank you for your time. If you have any further questions feel free to contact me.

Regards,

I have tried to reclaim my gap insurance and extended warranty refund since February 2015 and it it now July 2015 . I keep getting the run around of the person who worked here has thrown away your paper work . I have filed for a refund now 3 times . I sold my 2014 Kia in February of 2015 and am due a refund this dealer is a crimale

I went into Kia with a trade-in. I was told they would pay off my loan on this trade-in ($3500), I would pay $1500.00 deposit and would have no more than $400 payment. They insisted I take the new car home for the weekend and had till the next week to pay deposit. I went in the next Monday to sign paperwork and was told I had to pay $3000 down payment. The contract they had was not at all what we had discussed. They said they would pay the exact amount that was due on my trade-in, but all they were going to pay was $1000. Which would leave me with a repo on my record. I was there from 11:00 am till about 7:00 pm. Dealt with three different people each telling me a different story. They took my SSN and bank info from my application and went into my online account. Changed my password to gain my employment info. While I was there several people were having the same problems. Dealing with them was a big headache and waste of time. They told lie after lie. They even said I would get a verterans discount that I did not get. In the end I kept my old car and would caution anyone dealing with this company.

Review: In The middle of august two thousand and twelve my wife and I were in need of a new car. We had received a flyer in the mail from a local dealer, Kia of west chester. The offer seemed to be Just what my wife and I were looking for. Later on that week my wife and I went down to the kia dealer ship. We we entered the dealership we were greeted and assign a sales rep. After a round about about credit issues he finally had an offer. He told me that I took an older car, that was someones trade in would be able to come back in a year and upgrade to better vehicle as long as I made twelve consecutive payments. My wife and I were in desperate need of a new vehicle so we accepted the offer. We ended up with a chevy cobalt 2006. The condition of this car was and still is horrible. The interior looks as if there was an oil spill and just very unclean. We thought we would be trading it in a year. Today my wife and I went to the kia dealership so we could upgrade our vehicle. They said they could not upgrade my vehicle without two thousand dollars down. This is not what the original deal was. On top of all this they sold me the car for more then what it is worth its valued at 4,116 and they have me on a payment of 7,200Desired Settlement: I would like them to Upgrade my vehicle like they promised, and if this is not possible I would like to have the amount due on car lowered to the kelly blue book value.

Review: First of all kia sold me this vehicle with a bad wheel bearing and refused to fix it until I took it back 3 times and finally demanded they fix it. They kept telling me it was okay and another garage told me it was bad. The other garage was right and kia finally agreed the part was bad and fixed it. Second, they sold me a car which they sprayed chemiacls into to mask a cigarette odor. Here I am 16 months later and I still get asthma and angina attacks when I use the air or heat in my car because kia deceived me. Even replacing the cabin air filter has not fixed the issue as the cigarette stench is saturated throughout my car. Third, kia sold me a warranty through continental which they told me was bumper to bumper and I can drop at anytime. I have already tried to use this warranty 4 times and nithing is covered under it except for major engine and transmission issues and also I am not allowed to drop the warranty as per continental so I am stuck with it. Kia told me I can drop it at anythime and get a reimbursement from whatevers left. This garage lies.Desired Settlement: This garage should be prosecuted for criminal activity- they should be inspected for the bad faith practices they do to people. They took advantage of my bad credit situation and sold me a car they never should have sold me- My salesman knew I could not be in a car with a cigarette stench- I made sure he was aware

Response:

We did fix the the bearing, the cigarette smell we had two different companies come and get the smell out on 3 different occasions. The first two times she complained it did not work so we tried a different company on the third time and we have not heard from her since, until now. The warranty she bought is able to be canceled the refund goes to [redacted] the Lien holder. I do not feel anything was done wrong here if after the the third time the smell did not go away she should of told us immediately but not over a year later and looking for a full refund seriously? That's crazy. We are reaching out to her to let her know we would love to help her resolve her issues, but a full refund is not fair. She has used this car for over a year she has to take that into consideration as we are. We left her a message on 03/31/2014 at 3:40pm. When she returns our call I will update Revdex.com with the outcome.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: The only thing this garage did to fix the cigarette smoke smell was change the cabin air filter after I told them I was reporting them because they sprayed a very strong chemical into the entire vehicle to cover up the smell before the sale instead of just being honest about the cigarette smoke- if they would have told me a smoker had this car I never would have bought it- I have a severe heart issue and asthma-they knew that when I was looking for a car as I was wearing a mask and told my salesman why- thats why they lied- lesson learned- never deal with this garage again and dont refer anyone to them- as I said before this garage lied and as per continental warranty kia lied and my warranty cannot be canceled unless my car is totaled or repossesed. I have it in writing from the warranty company. as per the wheel bearing I had to take my car back 3 times- they denied they sold me a car with a bad wheel bearing- my car could have locked up and I could have wrecked- they denied there was a problem until I demanded they fix it. This garage should be shut down. How dare they blame me for their faults- just take responsibility and fix the issues- of course there is no way to get cigarette smoke smell out of a car once it has infiltrated the entire car- be honest next time- you have been lying since you sold me the car on day one- I was back there within a few days telling you I had a severe asthma attack while I was driving since you deceived me in regards to the smoke and my independent garage told me the wheel bearing was broken- you called my independent garage a liar- trust me I dont want anything from this kia dealership- I just feel the Revdex.com needs to know their unscrupulous business practices. They took advantage of someone with a less than perfect credit situation,. thats what this was about- they also way overpriced the car- a year later with only 5000 more miles on my car and 4 diff garages told me it is only worth 2000. good riddance kia of west chester

Business

Response:

[redacted], If you are having asthma attacks from the smell in the car I would be upset also. I also suffer from Asthma, so I understand. Every warranty we sell the company is responsible for it and needs to make it cancel-able, after doing some research The warranty company is denying the cancellation of the warranty, which I do not agree with. So with that being said I can offer you a few scenario's the first is I will reimburse you for the warranty pro rated based on miles and time. The second is I will buy your car back for the amount of your payoff so you can walk away with nothing owed on the loan. (No purchase necessary). You will be responsible for getting the car back to our dealership. Or the third is the same as you and Tom talked about the other week, cancel the warranty and when you are in the area we will shampoo the interior and have the company bio sweep try and get rid of the smell. I hope this helps, I will be waiting for your response.

Review: I called West Chester Kia after emailing them for my annual oil change ,inspection and emissions service.I was told their email system is out of wack but they can do services on my car thursday 6/27/13. I asked if they still honor competitors coupons they stated yes. I drove out there on Wednesday to drop my car off and brought the coupon as requested and was told they only honor Kia Dealer coupons???. The gentlemen checked with a manager who stated the same.I left as I am very angry over the breaking of the verbal agreement for service. I drove 45 minutes to the dealership as well as back and my husband did as well.Desired Settlement: I expect reimbursement for our time ,gas and aggravation.I expect the dealership to treat it's clients responsibly and honestly . I have digital voice on my phone and will try to access the conversation. I also have copies of the emails.

[redacted] was the one the customer was talking to. She came in and asked if we would honor a competitors coupon. [redacted] looked at it and it was from an aftermarket garage. at that time he told her we will honor any kia coupon . I was walking to the showroom and he caught me and asked me in passing and I told him we would honor a kia coupon but look at it . he went back to talk to [redacted] and got two words out and she snached the coupon and left. [redacted] tried talking to her as she was leaving and she kept walking. she called this morning to talk to me. she stated exactly what [redacted] stated happened but said when the guy [redacted] talked to yesterday said no that we started laughing at her. she didn't know that I was the guy [redacted] was talking to and when I told her that her story changed. anyway I told her if she had been a little patient with us and let us know what she wanted we would have been glad to help her. she had a coupon for a $35 emiss/inspection so it would have taken off $5 from her bill because she has lifetime. I told her we would be glad to honor that coupon in this situation and that I wish she had taken time to speak with [redacted] or asked for me. she stated we always honored coupons from anywhere in the past and I said if we are able to we do our best but we use only kia parts for the quality and warranty. we can use non kia parts but at times we have had proble** because they have no warranty. I asked her if I could schedule her back in so she could use her $5 off coupon and she stated yes at first and then said she would let me know she may do it local and hung the phone up. The outcome was we told her we would take her coupon and she responded with she will let us know before she hung up on me, the ball is in her court if she wants her problem fixed she needs to call us back to set up an appointment if we do not hear from her we assume she took her car to her local mechanic like she stated she might.

I am rejecting this response because:

I spoke with [redacted] and [redacted] today, He never mentioned any coupon today from him and yes he and [redacted] were snickering or laughing as my husband who was present will attest.I will continue to use my free services from, Kia ,but else-wise none of their services. They are rude to their customers and I intend to notify Kia 's corporate office. They are in breech of verbal contract. They agree to honor competitors coupons until you drive out there and then even though they can not tell me who I spoke with they stated they would not honor it. Noone came after me . I talked with my husband for a minute prior to leaving.

Thanks,

Response:

We already said we would honor the coupon, [redacted] wanted to explain to her since she receives our lifetime package which includes oil changes and state inspection not emissions that her price was $5 more without the coupon and we would bring the bill down $5 to match it, however she snatched the coupon out of his hand and stormed out I'm sorry [redacted] got worked up to the point she left without hearing the service advisor out about what we could do for her. We feel offering the $5 off is fair I'm not sure what she's looking for in reference to her time and aggravation? If she gave [redacted] a chance to explain, gas, time, and aggravation would not be an issue. If [redacted] does decide to bring the car back in I will put $20 worth of gas in her car for her. I hope this helps because we want [redacted] to be happy.

Review: I went to Kia in [redacted] during a sales/promotion week end. The sales people greeted me when I got out of the car. They asked questions and showed me one car that they thought would be my perfect car. There were no prices disclosed as they conducted high pressure sales techniques. At one point the sales person asked for my social security number. I hesitated and asked why he wanted it. He stated that he would run a credit check and that it was a routine practice for helping to find the right car for a buyer. I stated that I was not applying for a loan. He responded that this was not for a loan app. At this point I was still given no car prices. He showed me a car that I might have considered at the "right price". I was preparing to leave when the sales person asked if I wanted to drive it home to see if I liked the car. I said I did not want to take it home but I would come back the next day if I decided I was interested. He then told me that he would get "bonus" points if I took it home over night and that I did not have to leave my car there overnight. I was looking for a car for my son who was not with me, so I decided to take the car home for the night for my son to look at. The next morning I returned the car. The manager said that he was going to check to see if there was any "open" paperwork before I left. He went inside and did not return. I went inside to find him after about 10 minutes. He said there was nothing "open" and I left. Since then I have received four denial letters for loan applications. One of them said that the requests for loans was part of the reason for denial. I never gave them permission to apply for a loan for me. They did not even have a car that I wanted. I called the manager and he said he would produce a signed document where I gave him permission to apply for the loan. He has not produced that document and I am certain that if he does produce a document, that it will not be my signature on it.Desired Settlement: I want them to contact the loan companies and have those loan application removed from my credit report. This has adversely affected my credit score and my ability to secure credit.

Regards,

Response:

As I stated in our earlier response we are in the process of getting the inquiries removed but it does take some time. I understand she rejected the previous response it was not a final response. As soon as I get verification [redacted] has removed the inquiries I will let everyone know. But we are working on it and have all intentions of correcting it.
