Loan Science is under contract with the school [redacted] attended with his federal student loan to provide certain services that are required under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of as amendedOur attempts to contact him are in conjunction with those required servicesThose services are heavily regulated, and require that we protect the privacy of borrowers we service under contract with the school [redacted] attendedWe are not selling any productThe relationships between borrowers, the federal government, federal student loan servicers, the schools borrowers attended, and Loan Science are complex; and the laws that govern the delivery of the services we provide make the relationships somewhat opaque to many borrowersWe recognize and appreciate [redacted] ***'s concernsAs a result, we have taken steps to prevent any further attempts to contact or service [redacted] ***.We invite [redacted] to contact Loan Science directly if he has questions or concerns[redacted] ###-###-#### [redacted]

Loan Science uses the Federal Credit Reporting Act regulations to determine account delinquency reporting FCRA states the following: Section 605(a)(4) (a) Information excluded from consumer reportsExcept as authorized under subsection (b) of this section, no consumer reporting agency may make any consumer report containing any of the following items of information: (4) Accounts placed for collection or charged to profit and loss which antedate the report by more than seven years Section 605(c)(1) (c) Running of Reporting Period (1) In generalThe 7-year period referred to in paragraphs (4) and (6)of subsection (a) shall begin, with respect to any delinquent account that is placed for collection (internally or by referral to a third party, whichever is earlier), charged to profit and loss, or subjected to any similar action, upon the expiration of the 180-day period beginning on the date of the commencement of the delinquency which immediately preceded the collection activity, charge to profit and loss, or similar action Following FCRA reporting, the date of Ms [redacted] most recent delinquency meets these guidelines The October delinquency date does not antedate her credit report by more than seven years and the reporting date began on the date of the commencement of the delinquency which immediately preceded the collection activity Therefore, Loan Science is not violating any regulations and is accurately reporting Ms [redacted] delinquencies Loan Science’s reasoning for pulling a credit report is a requirement to ensure the delinquency information in Ms [redacted] credit report matches the information Loan Science provides Loan Science has confirmed that the first date of delinquency was August and the most recent date of delinquency was October As stated in a previous response to MsCaron, the dates of delinquency are as follows (See parenthesis for the date these delinquencies will be removed from Ms [redacted] credit): August (August 2017) September (September 2017) October (October 2017) November (November 2017) December (December 2017) January (January 2018) Forbearance used to cover November through January February (February 2018) March (March 2018) April (April 2018) May (May 2018) June (June 2018) Forbearance used to cover May through June September (September 2018) October (October 2018) November (November 2018) January (January 2019) February (February 2019) Forbearance used to cover August through March March (March 2019) April (April 2019) November (November 2019) December (December 2019) January (January 2020) Forbearance used to cover October through November December (December 2020) January (January 2021) February (February 2021) March (March 2021) April (April 2021) Forbearance used to cover December through April RRP 75% reduction in payment May through October June (June 2021) July (July 2021) August (August 2021) September (September 2021) October (October 2021) November Charged off with October effective date When available assistance is used on the account (Forbearance or Reduced Payment Plans), Ms [redacted] is correct that this assistance helps bring the account into a current statusHowever, the prior delinquent statuses would not be erased due to the account being currentThe account being current prevents any further negative reporting to the Credit Bureaus unless the account would returns to a delinquent statusAny prior negative reporting would not be removed, even if the account is current Ms [redacted] may contact Loan Science if she has any further questions

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:Loan Science still refuses to give me the loan balances Can you imagine any legitimate organization withholding your balance from you? Of course not It's illegal and they know it Also, loan Science describes my loans as aggregated averages By definition, this method is exactly that of a federal loan consolidation I didn't request it and it was done without my permission Once again, all of my requests are reasonable and based on the facts of the handling of my loan and coverup I have every right to be upset. For more details look for an article in the Statesman soon

Ms*** original Complaint (#***, dated 09/01/2017) to Loan Science required Loan Science to place an inquiry on her credit report. Loan Science cannot remove this inquiry due to the necessity of obtaining it for the proper resolution of Complaint #***.We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Ms*** can contact Loan Science directly if she has any further questions

Loan Science is an owner of Education Funding
LLC (EF1) which in turn owns Mr***' private student loan that is the
subject of this Revdex.com inquiryEFhas contracted with Loan Science to be master
servicer for all loans in the EFprivate student loan portfolioIn its role
as master
servicer, Loan Science has contracted with American Education
Services (AES) to provide certain services for EFloans, including payment
processing, statements and billing services, among othersFor loans in the EF
pool that fall past due, Loan Science staff directly attempt to contact EFborrowers
in order to help them resolve the delinquent loan statusIt was in this
capacity that Loan Science has been calling Mr***' phone numbers
Unfortunately, staff at our servicing partner AES provided incorrect
information to Mr*** when they questioned Loan Science and the legitimacy
of our role in servicing EFloansAES has acknowledged to Loan Science that
its staff provided incorrect and misleading information to Mr***, and is
attempting to contact Mr*** directly to explain the situationIn addition,
AES' billing system incorrectly reflected the loan's status as more highly
delinquent than it in fact was due to a clerical error which has since been
correctedAs of this writing, Mr***' loan is days past due, rather than
80+ days past due which was represented to Mr*** in our last contact with
himThe amount now due is $(one current due payment of $320.68, and one
past due payment of $320.68), not the $1,plus amount we represented in our
last communication with himWe apologize for the errors and sincerely regret any
confusion or anxiety they may have caused Mr***.At Mr***’ request, we have coded his
accounts to prevent further calling activityWe strongly recommend Mr***
reconsider his request as Loan Science is indeed a legitimate entity with legal
authority to communicate with him (as a loan owner and separately as a loan
servicer); and can provide repayment options that are not available to
representatives of AES as Mr*** should recognize as he has taken advantage
of one such program in the past.We encourage Mr*** to contact Loan
Science directly toll free at 866-311-if he has questions
