M / I Homes Reviews (42)
Review: we have had a roof leak from original construction that has not been properly repaired. We have been working with the builder for 7 years on this repair. We do not receive timely response to our calls, the only way we get a response is if we continue to call. There have been numerous promises to follow up and repair but no one shows up or returns our calls. We now have a mold issue due to the leak. The last warranty contractor was out almost 3 months ago and saw the mold. We have been in contact with the warranty department several times and we are still waiting for repair. We were told the roof would be fixed by the middle of September, it is now Oct 5 and we have heard nothing from the builder.Desired Settlement: The roof/ leak needs repaired, the mold needs remedied, the drywall and any damaged wall studs needs replaced, the area needs refinished and repainted to restore to original condition. All work needs to be completed within 30 days.
M/I Homes repaired the roof last year and it did not leak again until this recent call. Mr. [redacted] shared with our Customer Care Supervisor that he too thought the leak was repaired. The removal and repair has been authorized and we are prepared to schedule the work with the homeowner's acceptance. Once water pentration no longer exists, interior work will follow accordingly. M/I Homes would like inside the house as soon as possible to assess any evidence of growth.
Review: Contacted MI Homes Customer Care center ###-###-#### multiple times about water leaking into our
home, which is covered by their structural warranty. They have failed to return my calls and continue to
make broken promises when I call back each time.
Late 2012: Called MI Customer Care. Told [redacted] from MI about exterior leakage issues. They promised
that [redacted] Stucco would work with me in the Spring.
April 4, 2013: I called to check status, and [redacted] explained that Spring work starts April 15th. They
promised to call me back in 1-2 weeks to schedule repairs.
April 23, 2013: I called 3 weeks later after hearing nothing. [redacted] explained that Spring work was
starting later this year and that I will definitely hear something by May 3rd.
May 3, 2013: I called back this afternoon after not hearing back from anyone again. [redacted] promised
that someone named "[redacted]" would call me by the following week.
May 19, 2013: Over 2 more weeks have gone by, and still no one calling back or responding to multiple
earlier calls. Filing complaint todayDesired Settlement: Resolution is MI Homes representative (or partner like [redacted] Stucco), coming out on a scheduled
appointment and fully resolving our structural exterior breakdown in accordance with home warranty.
I apologize on behalf of M/I Homes for the lack of timely follow up. Please feel free to contact me directly in the future, should you fail to receive a return call within 24 hours. I understand that you met with [redacted] (M/I Homes) and [redacted] Stucco yesterday. [redacted] tells me that a water test was offered, and a previous engagement you had did not allow for the water test yesterday, but a follow up appointment will be set for next week. Please let me know if you have a different expectation. We look forward to resolving this issue.
