Review: I DROPPED MY VEHICLE OFF AT MAACO TO BE PAINTED ON APRIL 8, 2015 THEY ESTIMATED VEHICLE PRICE FOR $850.38 WHICH INCLUDED REPAIRS CHIPS, SCRATCH REPAIR, SEALER, URETHANE PAINT, 3 YEAR WARRANTY WHICH WAS SUPPOSE TO TAKE 4 DAYS TO FINISH IT TOOK 7 DAYS & I RECEIVED MY VEHICLE BACK WITH 2 CHROME EMBLEMS MISSING & SCRATCHES ON THE HOOD THAT WERE PAINTED OVER WHICH I PAID FOR IN MY RECEIPT. I CONTACTED THE BUSINESS THEY STATED THEY BROKE MY CHROME EMBLEMS SAID IF I PURCHASED MORE THEY WOULD PUT THEM ON, ALSO STATED THAT HOOD HAD SCRATCHES THAT WOULD COST ME EXTRA $200 TO BE FIXED WHICH THEY NEVER CONTACTED ME PRIOR TO LET ME KNOW THESE FINDINGS OR THAT THEY BROKE MY EMBLEMS... THIS BUSINESS WAS HORRIBLE . I HAVE A 3 YEAR WARRANTY BUT, WOULD NOT GO BACK THERE UNLESS I AM WATCHING THEM WHILE THEY' RE WORKING ON MY VEHICLE. RUDE, DIDN'T TRY TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE AT ALL.Desired Settlement: I WOULD LIKE MY VEHICLE DONE CORRECTLY & EMBLEMS REPLACED & PUT BACK ON LIKE THEY WERE ON MY VEHICLE WHEN I DROPPED IT OFF TO THEM. I WOULD LIKE TO BE PRESENT WHILE THE WORK IS BEING DONE. I DONE TRUST THEM AT ALL BECAUSE OF MY FIRST BAD EXPERIENCE. THANK YOU !!!!

Review: Contracted with Maaco to perform rust corrosion repair to rocker panels and rear wheel quarter panels on my pickup truck. Paid $800 up front to order the panels. When panels arrived, was informed by Maaco that they were incorrect and had to be shipped back to the supplier. Was told once the supplier received the panels back, the correct ones would be shipped. It is now 6 weeks later and Maaco claims they still have not received the replacement panels. Maaco refuses to give me my money back and says they do not know the status of the replacement rocker panels. I basically paid $800 to Maaco and received nothing for it.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive a refund of my $800.

Review: My husband and I went to MAACO in [redacted] on February 16, to have a used care we purchased painted. The manager ([redacted]) took our car, payment, and explained that it could take 1 week to be completed. Instead he had our car for 2 weeks before painting it, and gave it to us with dripping paint marks. They removed our Honda decals without our permission. When we questioned [redacted] about these issues, he explained that we should not wash our care or touch the paint for 1 month since the paint was still soft under the hard shell coat. He also explained that they had to remove our decals to paint the car. He asked us to come back in 1 month and have the drip paint marks buffed out, along with them re-attaching our decals.

On March 15, 2013 my husband returned with our Honda to the MAACO location to have the paint buffed and decals reapplied. The manager ([redacted]) explained to him that MAACO franchises to owners and [redacted] the owner was no longer working at the location, therefore he could not honor what [redacted] had promised. Upon further discussion with my husband, he explained that [redacted] had documented in the computer that our decals should not be reapplied. [redacted] said that [redacted] should never have let the car leave the paint shop with drip marks, that it was below standard work, and the reason he wanted us to come back in 1 month because [redacted] knew that he was no longer going to work there. We explained that [redacted] had written to return on our receipt, but that did not sway [redacted]. He explained that based on the poor job done by [redacted] and his associats, he would probably have to repaint the whole car. [redacted] gave us a telephone number to call for complaints at the corporate office, and if they approved it he could fix the problem because he had to "cover" himself when correcting someone else's work.

I am very disappointed in how we were cheated by [redacted] and given a substandard paint job, and in the lack of ownership by [redacted]. My husband took time off work to re-visit MAACO, and now we have found out that our car may be inactive for additional time due to requiring another paint job. This type of situation should never happen to a customer. Even if it is a franchise of MAACO, everyone who works there should uphold a good standard. This was our first time using MAACO, we went there because of reviews we read and the affordable cost of the work, but based on this experience, we will not patronize a MAACO paint center again.Desired Settlement: Due to having to spend additional time resolving the problems that [redacted] and MAACO created with our paint job, we are requesting 1/2 of the money paid (approximately $600.00) for our troubles and having to return to MAACO twice as much. As busy professionals, our time is very valuable. Your assistance with a prompt resolution would be greatly appreciated.

Review: We took our vehicle (limousine) to Maaco at [redacted] Pa on a Monday night. Had a wedding to service on Saturday, vehicle was promised to be completed by Friday close of business. This was our only week of down time for the year to have maintenance done. When we dropped of vehicle were informed that service would actually be completed at [redacted] PA location. I called location on Thursday to see what time paint and body work would be completed. I was informed by Billy (no last name) that would car would be done on Saturday, not Friday as promised. Billy was clueless. I told him car needed to be back in our possession on Friday because of our situation, and he said he would call me back when it was done. He never called. I call up on Saturday morning since no one contacted us. Was informed vehicle would be completed at 10:45am. We go to pick up vehicle at 11am; upon inspection of paint job, there were many noticeable blemishes, spots where the paint did not stick, dust particles, cracks, body work not even fixed, and the inside was covered with dirt and dust. We told Billy about the problems, and he blew us off. Finally he sent an assistant to check out all the problems, which the assistant acknowledged all the faults. The limo was clearly a rush job, and with all the dust particles in the paint it was most likely painted outside and not in a booth. This is totally unacceptable for a bill that was close to $1200. All around bad business, from the customer service, the promise date, and especially the actual work that was done.Desired Settlement: Would like to be refunded partially. Car is currently in service and does not have another week of downtime to be repainted. Also not confident in shop's ability to do the work correctly. Bill was $1182; would be willing to write off half before disputing the total payment with our bank.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. The owner, Mr. Dave D., was very professional, understanding, and courteous. He handled the problem 100% and we will actually be doing business with his company again.
