The Market Place Mortgage has been able to get us the mortgage where other companies failed. I became self-employed in 2014, and even though my income has increased significantly, comparing to my previous full-time job, most of the financial organizations denied my refinance application, requiring minimum 2 years of being self employed. I understand they have some guidelines, but situation is quite ridiculous if you think about it.
Going to new full-time job with less income would give me a mortgage with only 2 paystubs, even though I could be on 6 month probation, but being self-employed for a year considered too risky.
Anyway, the Market Place Mortgage were able to refinance. They treated me with respect and without empty promises delivered just what has been offered. The mortgage terms were very competitive, the interest is not artificially inflated due to my less than 2 years self-employment. Overall I am very happy with the process, the knowledge, courtesy and professionalism of the representative I have worked with, and how smoothly we have glided through all steps of our application.
Thanks to these guys now I have 15 years mortgage instead of 30, and my payment almost the same as it was before with only insignificant increase.

We have done business before this transaction...

successfully with [redacted]. He was satisfied with the work we did then and decided to come back to us for a conventional mortgage with an appraisal to remove mortgage insurance. We regret that [redacted] did not contact management or [redacted]'s supervisor on this transaction before filing this complaint. This is the only way we can learn of an issue with an employee and work to resolve it. We could have transferred the client to another loan officer while [redacted] dealt with the personal matter of his divorce and the dissolution of his family. We have reached out to [redacted] and are waiting for him to return our call. In the meantime we have spoken to [redacted] and he claims that Mr.[redacted] sent him items with inaccurate information or was not specifically what he was asking for and he had to ask again for the same information. In addition it is possible our virus filter blocked his attachments coming through as we take cyber security very seriously. [redacted] locked the loan for 60 days which is normally more than adequate when processing a simple transaction, however, this became a moot point when the appraisal was done after we had the loan approved and it turned out that there was an illegal basement unit installed in violation with local City and County ordinances. No lender can lend on this scenario until the illegal work is removed and completed with the correct permissions and zoning.
The last transaction we completed for him in 2013 successfully was an FHA streamline which did not require an appraisal at the time. We were not aware of the illegal work done in Mr. [redacted]'s property and we can only assume that the work done in the basement unit was done after his purchase and last appraisal on the property. We value Mr. [redacted]'s repeat business and would like to work with him to a successful conclusion for both parties, however, we have to be able to ensure that his loan meets [redacted] guidelines and this will require the work to be done by him on the property be competed at this stage in the process.

Matthew [redacted] did an exceptional job of processing a extremely difficult refi for my husband and I.

We previously used this company to refinance our home and had a great experience. This past June we were called about refinancing our home again and the broker stressed the fact that the rates had decreased and that we would again safe two months in mortgage payments. At first I was hesitant because we had refinanced 6 months ago, but we decided to proceed. This is the second time we have refinanced so I knew a little bit about the process. Last time we refinanced I had to stop automatic payment to the mortgage company. This time around I inquired about that and was told to hold off until after a closing date was secured. July's payment was paid automatically to the mortgage company per the payment schedule. On July 13th another payoff was requested by this company. A week later I was given a closing date. At that time I again asked if I should cancel automatic withdrawal. I was told yes. I confirmed that we would not have to pay August and September payment and was told yes. A couple days before closing I was called and told I had to bring over $400 to closing and was asked if that would be a problem. I had to pull money from our savings account to cover this because we were told there would be not closing costs. The title company came to the house on closing and we started the paperwork process. The person was reviewing the next payment date and told us it would be in September. We immediately questioned this and we called the broker. We were told that it was because we paid July and we should not have. We were also told we would get that money back in a check from our mortgage company after the payoff was sent to them. So we proceeded with the process and last week we received our check from our prior mortgage company in the amount of $38. We were shocked at the amount. I immediately got on the phone with our prior mortgage company to try to figure out what happened. They provided me the closing numbers and what they were paid. They proceeded to tell me that the escrow was netted and that they were shorted on the payment to them and the money that we were expecting covered that shortage. I then called the broker. He asked for me to call the prior mortgage company for a transaction history. I faxed that information to him immediately. I followed up again today and was told that basically it was our fault because we paid July and we should not have. That the payoff amount was after the July payment posted. Needless to say, I am glad we were not planning on having that extra cash because we would be in a world of hurt right now if we had. We wouldn't have refinanced had we known this is the way it was going to be. Very frustrating.
