I am rejecting this response because:
days is too long I need to cancel my policy with California Anthem Blue Cross as of Feb I have already signed up for North Carolina Blue Cross So again, my only recourse seems to be to pull all money out of my accounts so that California Anthem cannot charge me for the Feb premium So that is why this response is unacceptable

Member's issue was resolved on 9/16/by customer service

This member's issue is unclearIs she complaining about bills and calls from Covered California or Anthem Blue CrossIf it is about Covered California, the health plan can not helpIf it is regarding ANthem Blue Cross bills and calls, please advise
Thank you

This started when I started my new job and lost my old insuranceThe employer I work for now told me that many employees found it more cost effective to get insurance through Covered California and so they did not offer in-house insuranceI called Covered California prior to starting my new job, on 6/23/14, to find out what I needed to do to get insuranceThe person I spoke with said it can take some time to set up so I should do it in advance, if I canI did thatI set everything up and selected an insuranceI was told Anthem would contact me to establish the account
I received a bill from Anthem in JulyIt stated it was my first month's bill and would be due 7/23/I paid that bill on 7/22/The next bill I received in early August said I was overdueI called the company and they agreed I had made the one payment, but said there was another due on the same day, 7/I explained this made no sense, as I had only received the one billI stated that there was no way for me to know I had two bills due the same day if they didn't notify me, and also that it made no sense, since I had insurance through the old company through 8/The company said my effective date was 6/23/14, so I needed to pay for June (a month I would have coverage for days for) and JulyI explained that that should not be my effective date, though I selected the insurance that day I was specifically told it would take time to processI was then told to contact Covered California
This took weeksI waited on hold for more hours than I could count, at least 2-per sittingI called while at work, to my boss' dismay, when I got home from work, on SaturdaysI could make no headwayI called Anthem back, distraught because I was running low on my medicationsThey did a conference call with Covered California, which went through much more quickly, I assume they have a different number or priority levelThe two representatives from each company worked it out and changed my effective date to 8/1/I was told I needed to pay for September at that time, and I did soThis was at the end of AugustI was told it would take 7-days for the information to be processedWhen my insurance still wasn't active by 9/12/14, I contacted Anthem again and was told none of the paperwork had been processed, despite having a full month's payment from meI have now paid for August and September, but had no coverage in eitherThe person I spoke with said he would handle it and call me backHe called back saying everything was fixedHe sent me a new insurance card via email to use until my new one came in the mailI asked if I would be able to get my prescriptions right away and he said yes
Today I went to fill my two prescriptions at the local CVSI take birth control for hormone management and a medication for migrainesI was told by the pharmacist I would have to pay the full amount, which I cannot afford and shouldn't have to do, because the insurance company had frozen my account for nonpaymentThis was using the new informationHe tried to call the company and got the same informationI could not call, they are closed todayDespite the more frequent migraines I have experienced, I am trying very hard to make it to work every day and maintain my at schoolI'm becoming very scaredI can't pay for both my insurance and the full cost for my medicationsFirst, I should not have to, as that is the point of having insuranceBut even if I wanted to, just to deal with it, I couldn't afford to
I have now written a letter to the President, my Assembly person, and my Congress woman trying to raise awareness about this issueIt is not appropriate to be jerked around this wayWhen I sign onto the Anthem website to see what payment they say I owe them, the billing portal says "Can't pay on a balance"I don't know what to do or where to turnIt would appear I will need to cancel my insurance to afford my medications, that seems to be the only option left since they are unable to resolve the issue

Complaint:
I am rejecting this response because I am forced to by the insipid policy of the Revdex.com that matters are considered resolved even if they have not been addressed in any wayYes, an Anthem representative emailed meNo, the email had no substance whatsoeverIt merely said that they'd get around to giving me some sort of actual response within days
In a way, this is typical of the treatment I received while I was covered by AnthemThe main difference is that the representative handling these emails doesn't seem to be denying that I actually did pay to be insured by his companyI guess that's because the payment is the one aspect of insurance that Anthem takes seriouslyIn the past, when I called them, they generally expressed confusion about the idea that I might actually have an account with them, but relative and completely misplaced certainty that *if I did* have an account with them, then surely I could find doctors by searching on their internet site
What's consistent is the idea of stalling, knowing that eventually I'll go awayLast time, Anthem managed to stall me for the entire 3-month period in which I was supposed to have covered, and never had to incur any of the costs of actually providing insuranceNow, they've picked a response timeframe that will require at minimum several weekly emails just to keep the Revdex.com issue open long enough for them to finally issue their inadequate response
I am in discussion with a lawyer to see if there might be a better way to get more publicity for this sort of breach of contract
Thank you,
