Med Trans, Inc. Reviews (49)

Review: I completed the at home course from MedTrans in February of 2015. It is not November of 2015. I completed this course with an "A". It was understood that any graduates with an "A" would remain on the top of the hiring list. I do understand there was a possibility of not being hired by this company. My complaints go much farther. It has been 10 months since the completion of my course. I have not received a certificate of any kind stating I have completed the course, making it impossible to try and get a job at another company. When I do try to talk to other companies, time after time, they have informed me that MedTrans is NOT an accredited course that they accept. I have no certificate, no proof that I have completed this course, and now it is not accredited!? On top of this, I have spent over $800. I did my part and it is very upsetting that this company can not do their part. I have made an average of 3 calls to different contact of the company and have not gotten answers or call backs. I have also sent an average of 3 emails a month, also with no response. The customer service is terrible. I am not getting any of my issues resolved. Why would I want to be hired on by a company who can't even return my call or send me my certificate!?

Response:

[redacted] took final exam and

received failing score on 03/12/2015. She retook the final exam and

received a score of A with 34 errors on May 1, 2015. An email was sent to

her indicating for her to send me her mailing address to receive the certificate.

She sent that a few days after. We sent her certificate to the address

she told us at that time. Her only contact with me following

that was on May 28th. She indicated her interest in working

with Med Trans and indicated she had not yet received her certificate. My

response was the following: “…I have hired several new MTs

over the last couple of months who were initial top grads. Currently,

however, I am in need of some MTs with more experience as it is necessary for

me to maintain a balance of new grads and experienced transcriptionists.

I will keep your resume in an active status for six months and will definitely

keep you in mind as business increases or changes. “I did not hear back from her from

that point on so was unaware there was a situation. I have not received

any phone call attempts from her at any point. It was not until November

that I heard she had still not received her certificate when she began

contacting Tina. We will be happy to send out another certificate if she

confirms her mailing address, as this may be the issue. There is certainly no refund due, as she has completed the course and received all materials

I have just received an email stating my complaint has been closed. My issue with MedTrans Inc has not been resolved. I still have not received my certification from the company, there for I still have not been able to become employed in this field. I have sent an email twice since my complaint submission with my mailing address and email address and still have yet to receive my certification.[redacted]Abbeville, LA 70510###-###-####

I see her address on the letter now and will forward a THIRD certificate to her tomorrow. The problem therefore is resolved.

Review: I first applied with Med Trans in September and was finally told a while later that Med Trans isn't hiring at the time. Over that time and continually since then, I have kept seeing new job opportunities being posted. Every time I apply for those jobs, I receive an email trying to enroll me into the medical transcription program. If my resume would be reviewed properly, it would be clear to see that I completed the course as a top graduate in August. I've tried multiple times to contact Med Trans for an explanation but phone calls are never answered and voice messages and emails are never returned. I've applied with many other companies as well but have hardly been considered for employment since Med Trans isn't an ADHI school. Turns out finding a job isn't nearly as easy as they make it sound. I am very disappointed in the program and lack of communication, and unless a good explanation is given, I most definitely will not recommend your program to others and will take every opportunity I have to tell others of my bad experience. Please let me know if I'm missing something or not doing something properly or if your company is just that horrible to work with.

Response:

This letter is in response to the above concern from one of our students. First, we have had continuous communication with this student and have documented that throughout the course as well as in the hiring process. This student did well on the final and we most certainly have and will consider her in the near future as positions become available. As with most cases, timing is everything and the jobs are not always sitting available the minute you complete a program. We add to our existing transcriptionists first (if desired) and then hire our top graduates next. Occasionally we need to hire experienced transcriptionists if we have an excessive large account and find it too difficult to train many new people, but still 95% of our existing contractors are from the course. In addition, we have an annual agreement to run advertisements and cannot change those postings even if we are not hiring at the moment. However, since we marked constantly and hire regularly, we need the resumes on hand as well as the top graduates. Currently, we are in the process of changing our website and expanding the transcription business, and of course that will initiate hiring even more transcriptionists, most of them our graduates. I hope she will be patient and consider working for us in the near future. No refund is required, as she has been given all the materials that she paid for. Thank you for closing this case properly. [A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response. If you wish, you may update it before sending it.]

Thank you for your response. It is unfortunate that I had to go through the Revdex.com to receive such a simple explanation, but I hope that future communications will be much better and that I can serve your company as an employee in the near future.
