I purchased a water softer system for $5,and it was financed for months at 17.89% bringing the total cost to $9,In the credit agreement there is not a stated pre-payment penaltyHowever, when I contacted the company to get a payoff amount I was told I still owed $1,which includes interest as if I was still financing the system for the full monthsAt that time they also informed me that they front loaded the interest on the loan to have interest paid prior to balance requiring me to pay more interest than necessaryThere are currently months left on the loanIf I would like to pay off the system early I should not be required to pay interest on the remaining months, just for the month in which I am paying it offThat would bring my reasonable payoff to $1,I have already paid well over the initial cost of the product and find it disingenuous that a company would require me to pay for months that I no longer need the system financed in an effor

An unsolicited credit line appeared on my credit report I contacted Preferred Credit Inc by phone to learn what the account was They could not provide an account and said to contact the credit bureau to despute the claim I did, and the dispute was rejected by Preferred credit two times I never consented to or signed anything to open an account

I am filing a complaint about this company because they reported me as paying late and I have never been late on my payments! They even had a gentleman call me to inform me that I had a late charge and after I checked my account while I had him on the phone, I told him that my payment went through my bank already, and he told me to disregard the phone call About a month later it was reported on my credit report as being late! Over a year ago I lost my job, and negotiated with preferred credit a payment of 50$ a monthThey have since charged me late fees every month, damaged my credit, and now are sending me info about setting up automatic payments and that now my payments are 50$ dollars a monthIf not for the late fees this would be PAID off!! I also want to point out several key points:
1) Interest charged was a whopping 18% - this in a very low interest environment
2) My first statement showed a payment due date of 3/28/2016, but the minimum balance of zero due Obviously this is designed to make you think you owe nothing while they keep collecting interest at 18%
