Mid-Island Hyundai Reviews (43)

Review: The Salesman gave me a price of $14500 at the dealership. I put $5000 down on the vehicle and recieved $357 for my trade-in. The first bank statement I recieved in the mail stated the loan $14,300. When I went back to the finance office he said the car was $16500. I took the dealer for his word that the vehicle would be $14500 and was lied to.

Sincerely [redacted]Desired Settlement: I desire to be paid the difference between the stated price and the charged price.

Response:

I have reviewed the complaint and have discussed this matter with the salesman involved in this transaction. I am confident that there were no representations made to the customer that are not set forth in the contract. In light of this the dealership does not believe that the customer is legally entitled to any refund. However in an effort to resolve this matter amicably the dealership is willing to offer the customer $400. If this is acceptable please let me know and we shall prepare the appropriate paperwork. THANK YOU [redacted]

Review: On 8/*/14 I had brought my Hundai Santa Fee to Sears for a tire rotation. After a full inspection, they told me I needed to have lower arm controls repaired but in order to do that there was a recall on the sub frame, and I had to take it to Hyundai for repair. On 8/**/14 I took my car to Huyndai, explained the situation and they said they would check it all out, have the recall done and I would have my car back on 8/**/14. On 8/**/14 after picking up my car from Hyundai, I brought it to my mechanic for the repair Sears initially told me had to be done, and he immediately called me to say there was now a crack in the transmission. He knew exactly how this happened as he worked for Hyundai in the past and explained how the sub frame was attached and the tightening of certain parts caused the transmission to crack. It is obvious Hyundai caused this to happen and let me drive off in an unsafe vehicle. I brought my car back to Hyundai on 8/** and they refused to repair and said it wad $4,000 and if not "ARE YOU PICKING UP YOU CAR?"Desired Settlement: Refund. I was to be paid for the damages to my car, loss of time from work, and now I am without a vehicle for 9 days and counting. I am forced to purchase a new car and this will put me in extreme financial hardship.

Response:

We have spoken to the technician who performed the recall on this vehicle. He is an A Technician with 20 years of experience. He has performed this recall hundreds of times also has never seen a transmission cracked upon completion of this campaign. since this car has been seviced at other svc locations we can not know what happened to this vehicle.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I have sufficient evidence to support my claims. I have taken this matter to Small Claims Court at this time. I am not surprised that they have denied this matter and did in no way try to resolve it with me either by telephone or letter. I did not ask for this recall to be done on my car and they just ruined my car and deny it all. As to the so called "A" mechanic, is he not a human being? Everyone makes mistakes!

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Review: I bought a used car with the agreed price of $14.199.00. I traded in my car for the agreed sum of $6.500 this would have brought the price for the vehicle down to

$8,699.00. I also gave them a $100.00 deposit for a grand total of $8.599.00. Adding in the following fees: $374.00 Admin Fee, $182.00 DMV Fee, $37.00 Inspection Fee and a $75.00 Document Fee, brought the total that should have been financed to $9,509.00. The dealership charged me $17.945.00 for the vehicle plus added on an After Market Maintenance Package for $999.00 and an additional 2 Year Warranty for $1380.00 both without my knowledge bringing the total to over $20.000. When I asked about these extras, I was told by [redacted], that the lender required it. I have since discovered that this is not only illegal but also untrue. I was also told that the lender increased the sale price by $2,944 as a fee for the loan. This is also untrue and illegal. I have spoken with the [redacted] who informed me that no one was available until Thursday. I bought the car on 10/**/2014 and spoke with [redacted] on 10/**/2014.Desired Settlement: I either want my vehicle that was traded returned and the contract cancelled or I want the vehicle that I bought for the price I was offered. The final amount that should be financed at $9.509.00 which also includes taking off the Additional $2.379.00 for the dealership Add On's that I did not ask for.

Response:

I personally metwith him. He is very happy. In his words he is a "Mid-Island Hyundai customer for life". He informed me at that time that he had made complaints to Revdex.com and was in process with the A.G. and he would happily rescind his complaints. Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Thank you for your message and your assistance, it was greatly appreciated. Although I did get some resolution to my complaint, I still feel that this company was not truthful with their disclosure of the facts with regard to their advertisements, contracts and overall descriptions of the sale and trade in of my vehicle. While renegotiating the sale of the vehicle, I pointed out to the sales manager that the salesperson had assured my wife that the small crack in the windshield would be fixed and someone would come to our home to fix it. This however was never done nor was the missing front floor mat ever replaced as promised. I have come to the conclusion that this dealership is extremely dishonest and management knows and allows their staff to lie to potential customers in order to sell cars. I have since discovered that a CD from the last owner is stuck in the CD Player but I know that contacting the dealership to have it removed would be a waste of time. I will never do business with Mid Island Hyundai again.

Sincerely,
