I am rejecting this response because:The business owner is not being truthful or is not aware of the sequence of eventsHis son ***, came to our house on 11/25/to provide an estimate to replace the roofWe paid him $and was told the work would begin on 11/29/They never cameI texted *** on 12/13/to ask when they were coming to do the work and did not get a responseI texted him again on 12/14/and then on 12/20/Again I had no responseI waited and then on 1/20/I texted *** stating that I was worried that they were not coming to do the roofI did not get a responseI then called the business to speak with the ownerI spoke to the owner and he said he had had a lot or problems with delaysI repeatedly asked him to give me a firm date and he refusedHe said they would be coming soonWhen they didn't arrive, I called the office again and pressed for a firm dateHe finally said they would come on the 25thI asked if this was January 25th and he said no February In February I called him back and told him the delay was unacceptable and that I did not trust his businessI asked him to send me the money backHe said he could not do that and repeatedly asked if he could come to my house to convince me to change my mindHe would not end the phone conversation and repeatedly refused to return the moneyI said I was not changing my mind, I wanted my money backI then told him that because of his dishonestly, he is banned from my property and I would call the police if he attempted to do unapproved workI faxed his office a written demand that my money be returned and that no work be performedHe refuses to return my money and insists that I change my mind and allow him to do the workAll I want is that he return my $I will never agree to his business performing any work on my house I do not understand why he refuses to return my money. We have done all we can to solve the problem with the home ownerIt seems he wants his money returned even after material was delivered to his addressI have attached pictures of the material being deliveredWe had never said water didn't do some damage to homeWe responded the same day to fix the damages caused by the the leaks but we were denied by the home owner. We do have to acknowledge the pre-existing damage to homeIt seems to us he is trying to say his house was in perfect conditionIf you look at the ceiling in the picture you will see yellow spots in various places of the house which means the spots are oldHe was in the process of removing the chimney, that is also pre-existing damageThe x holding the ceiling was also pre-existing due to levelingThe insurance company has documents of the x on the ceiling which had already fallen before we ever stepped onto the propertyHe said with his words he had put plastic up to keep the cold out of the house and other debris from coming into the home

In the beginning of January, the customer had called the office to talk to someone about the work needing to be doneThe owner had apologized for the delay and told the customer we could start the job the following dayThe customer refused and had warned us if we were to show up at his house he
would have police there waiting for usThe owner is still wanting to work with the customer to do the job

The estimate he had given us was for a flat, rolled roof and we wanted a gableWe asked how much more it would be for a gable roof and he said, "$500.00" which we added onto his original bid making the total proposal $That is the only reason we gave him a total of $(a little more than 1/of the cost)--otherwise we would only have given him $** *** said, "He would lose money** *** crew did a great paint job

I have talked to the wife of *** *** and we have agreed to continue working on the patio

America Roofing and Mrs*** ** *** have spoke in the main office and worked out a payment agreement on December 22, first payment has already been made to Mrs***

We had showed up at that night and placed tarps on the roofIt did leak and we tried to contain it before the situation worsenedThe customer did not want us to do anything more to their house which made matters worseDue to levelers that leveled the house a year before, the ceiling in one
bedroom had already collapsed before we had got there which means the customer had faulty ceilings to begin with
