Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: My issues with Post are three years old now Post U has always passed the buck with my complaints just as they are attempting to do now Sincerely, [redacted]

As part of the admissions process, students are required to submit copies of official transcripts A transcript is considered official if it is received unaltered and in a sealed envelope The student was informed of this requirement when he began the admissions process and had ample notification prior to the start of class This information is also published in the university catalog When the student requested his official transcript, he had the document sent directly to him and upon the receipt of the information, he opened the envelope prior to sending the transcript on to the University Due to his actions, the document no longer met the requirement and it was requested that he obtain the correct copy and send the document unopened and unaltered The student began classes while resolving the requirement To expedite the process for the student, a representative from the University also attempted to obtain the document directly but did not have sufficient information During the process, the student elected to cease participation well after the add/drop period In regard to the student’s initial course at the University, this class is included as part of his required curriculum Under certain circumstances, students may waive this requirement however in his case, he did not meet the criteria for approval A thorough review shows the university did follow policy and the student is financially responsible for the coursework; however to ensure a positive student experience, all charges will be removed from the student’s account

[redacted] began his program at Post University in and last attended April 30, He chose Federal Student Aid as his method of payment to cover his educational expensesFederal regulations require students to complete entrance loan counseling and a master promissory prior to receiving federal loan funds Both of these requirements fully explain aggregate loan limits which are applicable to these funds Students complete these requirements by acknowledging they understand their rights, responsibilities and eligibility criteria for receiving these fundsEach year students are required to re-apply for Federal Student Aid Upon completing the FAFSA, the student receives a “Student Aid Report” showing the application data and Financial Aid History Information including the total amount of loans outstanding The information outlines the student’s total Federal Student Loan principal balance and remaining eligibility As the student progresses through his program, this information is updated with each FAFSA application to show the remaining loan eligibility When the student completed his FAFSA Application for the 2015-Award Year on 1/16/he received an additional message notifying him that he was nearing his undergraduate student loan limit He completed his 2016-FAFSA on 1/28/and was notified again that his remaining loan eligibility was limited He was awarded his remaining loans and was counseled on other resources available for him to pay for tuition and fees Subsequent to his FAFSA completion, the University provided award letters which included information regarding his awarded loans that reduced his remaining aggregate loan availability These award letters were issued on the following dates: Award Letter Issued 8/21/Award Letter Issued 4/27/Award Letter Issued 11/8/Award Letter Issued 7/14/Award Letter Issued 2/19/Student Aid Report 1//– warning issued Student Aid Report 1/– warning issued Within each award letter he was directed to the National Student Loan Data System for Students (NSLDS) http://www.nslds.ed.gov/nslds/SA/ ” to review his outstanding loan balance and remaining eligibility As he reached his aggregate loan limits, he was counseled by his Financial Aid Advisor to secure another method of payment since he was no longer eligible for Federal Student Loans A review of [redacted] ’s information shows he owes a balance to the University and has been contacted by a representative to make payment arrangements Post University will send a copy of his unofficial transcript directly his employer after he establishes a payment plan and makes an initial payment toward the outstanding balance

We have researched the account and academic activity for this student The student began her first course at the University on August 24, This course was scheduled to end on October 18, At the end of September the student experienced unusual circumstances and requested that the University review those circumstances and allow a late withdrawal and a reversal of charges She was offered her the option to petitionPetitions are reviewed by committee at which time circumstances, supporting documentation and pertinent policies are taken into consideration to render a decision Any requests should be submitted within a reasonable amount of time and with supporting documentation for special circumstancesThe decision is then communicated to the student At the time of the petition, the student submitted a statement and supporting documentationThe committee reviewed the information and agreed to grant her request and subsequently removed her charges and enrollment The student re-enrolled in a class beginning on October 19, and ending on December 13, On December 20, she again submitted a petition requesting a review of her circumstances to allow a reversal of charges A brief statement was sent with no supporting documentation In the student’s statement, she noted that she moved (during the module) to a location where she did not have access to a computer Initially she did have access when she enrolled and participated in the course With no supporting documentation, the committee was unable to approve this request and the decision and the reason for the denial was communicated to the studentThe student did not appeal the decision or provide the required documentation If the student does not provide sufficient documentation, she will be financially responsible for the course as she did not drop in accordance with the published add/drop policy Tuition Charges for all courses offered at the University are published on the website and within the University Catalog

We have reviewed the student’s enrollment and account activity including payments from all sources and the policies applicable at the time of her withdrawal Payment was not received for her coursework from all anticipated sources and this information was explained to her After evaluating [redacted] activity through the point of her withdrawal, Post University has decided to make a good faith effort by reversing the charges to eliminate the outstanding account balance A transcript has been issued per her requestShe has been notified of the outcome both by the phone number and email address provided This matter has been resolved

We have researched this student’s complaint and found the following information: The student states in her complaint that she needed time to “think it over” but instead chose to enrolled and was a late enrollment On November 23, the student was initially interviewed by an Admissions Counselor to begin courses on January 11, The admissions counselor was assisting the student through the process The student requested to defer enrollment with the reason being she was not able to complete her financial aid verification documents She was dropped from the class on December 29, As this was prior to the add/drop period, the student incurred no charges On January 7, the student informed the admissions counselor that she wished to begin classes on March 7, On March 8, the student returned some of her requested documentation and was provided with a financial aid award outlining her available funding and notifying her of the remaining missing items required to complete the financial aid process The student began participating in the course on March 10, 2016.The student states she requested to drop but was told she could not Students may drop courses at any time if they feel the need to do so As the student was provided with her financial aid information as well as a list of additional requirements prior to beginning her class, she had the opportunity at that time to request to again drop the course and start at a later time without incurring any charges When the student chose to participate in the class, she still had the opportunity to drop the course during the add/drop period in accordance with the University policy The student did not request to drop the class until after the add/drop period ended at which time she was informed that she would be responsible for those charges She chose to remain in class and earned passing grades for this coursework She also enrolled in and participated in a subsequent course which began May 2, 2016.The student notes that she did not receive her financial aid until her second module This was due to her delay in returning all missing documentsIn order to be accepted and matriculated into a degree program, the University requires students to submit proof of High School Graduation or GED completionThe University did not receive the high school transcripts until June 13, [redacted] cannot be disbursed for students who are not accepted into an eligible program The student became eligible for her Federal Student Aid disbursement on June 13, The student has been enrolled in each module consecutively since March 7, 2016, with the exception of Module which began August 29, and ended October 23, She again enrolled in Module which began on October 24, and is enrolled in the current module She is enrolled in a future module as well beginning March 6, From her enrollment to the present time, she has attempted credits and is registered in more credits in a future module.During Module 6, the student requested to transfer from the school on July 18, As the add/drop period had passed she was informed that she would be financially responsible for the courseAt that time the student was provided with the information to withdraw Her academic success counselor followed up with her again on July 29, as she had not received the withdrawal form from the student The student chose to remain in her classes During Module in which she was not enrolled, she was again provided the withdrawal forms on September 11, but did not return those forms The student instead inquired to which classes she will be taking if she remained enrolled and about the required course materials She was informed that in some classes the materials are embedded as part of the curriculum but for those which are not, she would have an option to opt out On September 29, she requested to be registered for the upcoming module and enrolled in class on October 24, The student participated in her Module class and again inquired about transferringThe student was again sent the withdrawal forms on February 7, but has not yet withdrawn The student has never been informed that she could not drop or withdraw and has been repeatedly provided with all of the paperwork and instructions on how to withdrawShe has been informed of the add/drop policies and the impact to her charges and grades if she were to withdrawIn regard to the student’s reference to electronic course materials and YouTube videos at a cost of $3,000; if electronic course materials are utilized, the cost is $per classElectronic Course Materials are course materials that are available in a completely electronic format which may include electronic versions of textbooks, narrated PowerPoint presentations, articles, case studies, and electronic access codes to additional contentAt Post University, Electronic Course Materials include materials that are developed and gathered by faculty to address specific program and course outcomesThe student’s reference to the $3,cost includes the total charges for tuition and fees as well as course materials for two classes. The student chose to use [redacted] as her method of payment for her direct costs of attending the university Her account has been charged and her aid has been applied to the charges in accordance with her enrollment and participation The student has been provided with the opportunity to withdraw from the University on multiple occasions While we encourage students to persist to complete their education; however, we understand students may withdraw for various reasons and provide them with information to do soA University representative will continue to assist the student in her decision to withdraw from, or continue with her education at the university

Thank you for providing Post University with the opportunity to review [redacted] ’s concerns The University has researched policy and regulations in accordance with her account and disbursement activityRegulations restrict disbursements of the first installment of Direct Loan funds for first year, first-time borrowers until calendar days after the program of study beginsUpon the completion of calendar days from the beginning of each module, university representatives will review eligibility for all first time borrowers who are scheduled to receive a disbursement Once eligibility is confirmed, the student’s Federal Loan funds will be disbursed to the student’s account This aid will be applied to the eligible charges and excess funds will be returned to the student At the time [redacted] began enrollment at the university, she was determined to be a first year, first-time borrower As her first course began on January 8, 2018, the earliest she could receive a disbursement of her Federal Student Loan funds to her student account was on February 7, At this time her eligibility was reviewed after which her loans were disbursed to her student account The funds were applied to her charges and excess funds were sent to the student’s preferred account on February 22, As a result, [redacted] does not currently owe any money to the school and has received her stipend for suppliesAs she has received her Federal Student Aid disbursement, as well as her stipend for school supplies, the University considers her request to be satisfied Please communicate our findings with [redacted] University representatives will continue to work with [redacted] throughout her enrollment at the University to notify her of the requirements to continue receiving her funding as she achieves her educational goals

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution is satisfactory to meThank you so much for all of the help! Sincerely, [redacted] ***

[redacted] , I have reviewed your complaint and unfortunately we are unable to reverse your billYou decided you could not continue taking your course after the requisite time frame for withdrawing andreceiving a refund had already expiredWe do feel that your professor should have been more communicative with you in responding to your request for assistanceHowever, I was unable to find an email documenting that such a request was madeIf you currently have the e-mail you are referring to in your complaint, please provide that to your Academic Success Counselor

We have reviewed the student’s activity in the enrolled coursework and specifically in Module We can see that the student was enrolled in two courses that began on 4/27/ The student posted discussions in both of the registered online courses with the latest posting as of 5/6/ Records of her participation including her detailed postings can be provided to the student upon request As the student enrolled in, and participated in the coursework, the student was aware of registration in module The University does not have a record of a subsequent withdrawal from these courses after beginning participation and the student received grades in these courses As the student’s participation in the coursework was confirmed, the student received federal student aid allocated to her enrollment for this period of time and part of this aid was sent to the studentIn accordance with the university tuition refund policy, no tuition refunds will be granted for withdrawals after p.mEST of the first Friday of the Module In this instance, the first Friday of the module was 5/1/ Records show that the student participated up to 5/6/and in accordance with the policy is beyond 5/1/therefore the student is responsible for the tuition charges. We will work with the student to resolve the matter

We have considered Ms. ( [redacted] ) [redacted] statement and further reviewed her academic activity in the course in which she earned a grade. The review of her participation activity in the [redacted] system revealed that she logged in to the system 48 times at an average of 6.49 hours per week. She posted in the discussion board 41 times and completed all but one course assignment. Her GPA for the course is a 3.30 and she received a B+. The system information shows that the student did attend for the entire course and was able to log in and participate on multiple occasions, showing that the student was aware of the course and earned the grade received. According to university policy, students who remain in a course and participate after the add/drop period are responsible for charges. While the student was responsible for the completed course, she was enrolled in a future course but was removed for lack of participation and is not financially responsible for that course. She was counseled on payment methods available by her Admissions Counselor and her Tuition Planner. She acknowledged that she would make payment to the university in her email response to her tuition planner, Sadie P***, on October 22, 2015 at 6:56 p.m. Payments received via check, credit card or cash are considered cash payments. Given the written confirmation from the student of her acknowledgement of the requirement to pay tuition charges, as well as her active participation in the course, she is financially responsible for the charges.

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Sincerely, [redacted] just received a letter in mail today 1/25/, and it was dated 1/7/tried to attach documentation just not sure they will still approve

A careful review of the student’s
activity and the University policies regarding Academic Engagement and
Adding/Dropping a class shows that the student was charged appropriately for
her activity. As we want to ensure a positive student experience,
we have removed the charge on this student’s account and she does not owe a
balance to the University. We have resolved this matter

Per the student’s request we approved two petitions which resulted in a reversal of tuition charges for both modules in which she was registered. The student did receive Federal Student Aid during her enrollment which was applied to nominal course material and fees with the excess being
returned to the student or sent back to the Department of Education. There is no credit due to the student or balance due to the University The activity is included in the attached document
