I am rejecting their interpretation of their perceived facts, though yes, I do understand they have a right to their own way of thinking:I acknowledge the fact that my Bank only, in following their own policy, returned my $19.25The better exposed and accurate version to counter the story/response deposited here by a Bee executive is the following....The Bee did offer me a reduced refund amount, [redacted] too-little-too-late. Because I swiftly brought the financial impropriety to the attention of my bank, they, the bank, proceeded with their own swift policy of "temporarily refunding the full $19.25" according to that policy. My decline to accept the Bee's reduced refund was due to the fact that I am a person of higher ethical standards. Since I at one time did run a licensed construction business I also am a person with reasonable understanding of good business practices. I would not accept a check from Bee corporate since my bank already returned my lost funds well before the Bee was able to fully comprehend the petty fiasco that they themselves had created, therefore setting in motion my responses in dealing with a matter of "principle" rather than focusing on the petty dollars that I paid and where goods and services had not been recieved.

 I also purchased a subscription to stop robotype calls.  If they call again, they will be wasting their time.  It's sad people have to resort to Do Not Call and RoboStop to end annoying phone calls.  I most likely will never subscribe again because of the harrassing phone calls after I chose to quit their service.  They had my future business until then.  They should rethink their phone harrassment of customers who choose to quit their service.  One No should be sufficient to get the message.  Continuous calls are a waste of time and annoying.

Customer had been active since 2012. The most recent expire date was on 4/1/16. As of 4/1/16, The Bee had no indication Mr. [redacted] wanted to stop the account on the expiration date. Since The Bee does not stop accounts automatically, we sent a renewal notice on 3/16/16, 5/11/16 and 6/20/16. The...

account during this time was on our grace period. There are no notes on the account stating to stop the subscription. On 6/22/16, the account was stopped and notated that Mr. [redacted] did not agree with paying the past due amount. However, the note does not indicate the balance was waved. The Bee does have a third party vendor, [redacted]. This vendor mails out final notices for us to attempt a payment for the past due amount. This vendor is not a reported collection agency and does not affect Mr. [redacted]'s credit report.The payment of $76.85 was received and posted on 10/18/16. Since Mr.[redacted] claims he cancelled the subscription, we will honor his request to refund the amount paid. Cecilia took our new bank account information and said future auto payments will come out of the new account, effective July 1. I would hope that the Modesto Bee will change their customer service procedure to eliminate the need to file a complaint with Revdex.com to resolve issues. I will note to check after July 1 to confirm that auto payments will be debited to our new account and if not, I have [redacted] phone number and will contact her.

My mother, 88 and still going strong, likes to read the paper. Not the digital version, paper version. She pays $79.29 every 5 weeks. That is $824.62//year or $2.26/day. I can't believe the cost. I called on behalf of my mother and got a nice lady who would/could do nothing for me as my mother was an established customer. Now, my mother could get a years subscription for $111.00 - it pays not to be a loyal customer. Maybe I should have my mother cancel her subscription.

Attempted to contact customer to assist with billing and any other requests customer may have. Provided customer direct contact for assistance and follow up.

Customer's account was stopped 12/13/16 and the account is at a zero balance. A refund was sent on 12/14/15. Another message and reminder to stop the paper was sent to the distributor on 5/24/16. The most recent payment of $161.20 for 26 weeks, paid the account until 1/17/16. There was a renewal notice sent on 12/30/15 and 3/2/16. Since the account does not stop automatically, the paper continued through the grace period and stopped on 4/16/16. Unfortunately, we do not show any notes or...

messages stating the customer wanted to cancel the service. We do apologize for the paper not being stopped. As of today, 6/23/16, the account has been stopped and cleared of any balance due. The collection company has also been informed to stop any further collection eddorts. As a side note, [redacted] is a vendor The Bee uses to collect past due balances. A follow up was sent to the distributor, regional manager and Director of Home Delivery on 12/27/16. On 12/29/16, the regional manager confirmed that the distributor has stopped all deliveries associated with the Modesto Bee. but the Regional Manager for the Modesto Bee is located in Modesto. If there are service problems, we always encourage our readers to contact us so we can notify the appropriate manager. In this case, Ms. [redacted]'s information has been given to the local Modesto office and manager for follow up on the delivery problems. In response to the concern identified as #10664258.  The provided address has been removed from our records to receive any future deliveries of Vida.  The delivery business has been contacted and informed to halt delivery as well.  It is our understanding that delivery has been halted as per conversation with the resident.  Spot check verifications will be completed in future weeks to ensure deliveries continue to remaine halted as per request.  Our apologies for the delay in follow up.

This account was started 8/30/15 and paid for 10 weeks. The expiration date was 11/3/15. As standard business practice, the Modesto Bee sends a renewal notice out 3-4 weeks prior to the expiration date. In this case, it was sent on 10/18/15. A 2nd renewal notice was sent on 12/9/15 and a last notice...

on 1/9/16. On all renewal notices, the Bee states, "the paper will continue unless The Bee is notified otherwise." Since we were not notified, the subscription continues automatically on a 90 day grace period. As a one time adjustment, the account will be cleared as of today, 4/26/16.As requested, Ms. [redacted]'s phone number has been added to the do not call list and the email address has been added to the do not email list. The mailing address will also be forwarded to the Sales Manager to be removed from any mail promotions. Since the change was made, the expiration date was adjusted to the new expiration date of 3/21/17.
