ID:  [redacted]It is with
great regret that we now read Client’s complaint regarding services completed
in March 2016.  She is correct in her
assertion that an item was missing when More Than Moving redelivered her
household goods out of...

storage, and that a chair was damaged.  But we disagree on some of the facts of the
narrative.  Numerous
attempts were made to contact Client.  In
conversations with our staff she stated she did not recall receiving all
messages, and she had been too upset and busy with work to reply.  We were unable to proceed in resolving her
claim until she provided her requirements for her missing mattress foundation
regarding type of wood, dimensions, thickness and finishing. Regarding
her chair:  all four chair legs were
loosely attached to the frame of the chair and the wood was dry-rotted when the
chair was picked up.  When the movers put
down the chair, one leg snapped.  Our
staff person, a carpenter and furniture maker, repaired the break; however, it
still was loosely connected like the other three legs.  More Than
Moving executed resolution of the claim, though we agree that it was not as
timely as would have been preferred due to delays by both parties.  We further believe it unreasonable for Client
to ask for a full refund of moving expenses--$1352--especially as she completed
a survey telling us how delighted she was with her moving experience!  We certainly
have appreciated Client’s patronage of our consignment store, but believe we
have fulfilled our obligation and that it is unfortunate that Client many
months later is asking for further consideration.

Review: More than Moving helped me clear out my parents home and agreed to consign and sell some of the items and send me checks for 50% of the amounts after the items sell. The items were packed and loaded in November 2015. I have to date received no funds and none of my calls have been returned.Desired Settlement: My money for the items sold to date and any in the future.

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved. If the company does not perform as promised I can get back to you at: [redacted]

Great work by great people!

Review: I brought several items to Susan's Selections to sell on consignment. Several items were sold (mid Nov, 2015). I am still awaiting my 60-61.00. I believed my money would be coming in one month. After several phone calls ad e-mails I was told I would receive my money in 60 days, towards the end of Jan. The first week in Feb I e-mailed my contact at this company again and also called and spoke to another staff. Within a week I was told the check would be mailed Friday Feb 12. As of today, Feb 18 I am still awaiting my money from items that sold mid Nov. 2015. I will no longer be a consignee at this company but I want my money.Desired Settlement: I would like the 60-61.00 owed me by the sale for items they sold on consignment: 2 leather covered trays and 4 Waterford water goblets.

Review: My father and I have been buying items from the companies online auction for a few months, her employees know us by face. We had bought from 2 auctions ending 6/21 and 6/22, I made an error on the pick date for the 1st one, called the store and they put me in touch with gentlemen that handles the auctions and said there was nothing he could do that we were out our money and the items purchased. I spoke with the receptionist and said she would speak with the owner, the owner came onto the phone very rudely and explained the instructions were on the paper and that was the end of it, but if I could pay her $200 she could retrieve the items for me.

2nd issue is that some of the pictures on the site are a bit mis-leading, we bought 2 ginger lamps picture showed no damage however upon picking items up one of the lamps had a large piece missing off the back. There was also a Rattan Sofa that a fake plant had been placed over the ripped seat cushion (I have pictures if needed), lastly was a painting that you could see had visible damage to the frame however there did not appear to have any damage to the photo itself, once picked up there was a noticeable whole.Desired Settlement: I would like to have the items we purchased, obviously have them if I had $200 to give the company. Also I would like to see something done about how they represent the items photographed so bidding can be fair. I would like to note that the company does state that no refund will be made however it also states that you must have a picture ID with you when picking up these items which is not performed from the first time we picked up items. If you make rules does not seem fair to only enforce the ones that make you profit.

Response:

Dear Ms. [redacted]: More Than Moving For Seniors, Inc. I am replying to the letter from the Revdex.com to Susan's

Selections, dated July 6, 2015. The complaint was filed by Ms. [redacted] and

concerned items she bid on in an internet auction that we conducted in a

client's home. When people register to bid on one of our internet auctions,

they agree to the terms and conditions described in the auction. One of the

terms gives the date when winning bidders can pick up the items they won. Also

in the terms it states, "Lots which are not picked up will be considered

abandoned and will be disposed of at the auctioneer's sole discretion."

Ms. [redacted] was aware of this when she registered and admitted repeatedly in

phone conversations that she made the mistake by not picking up her items at

the described time for pick up. The auction items were valued at $28 plus sales

tax and a 15% buyer's premium (total of $33-91) and were in a client's home and

Susan's Selections didn't have access to the client's home after the pick-up

date of the auction. Ms. [redacted] was aware of our policies, as she had bid on

previous auctions. She had been told by four members of our staff that based on

our policy·, her items were abandoned. Susan's Selections acted in a

professional manner throughout this situation and believes that we have done

nothing inappropriate. To mitigate this situation, Susan's Selections is

willing to refund Ms. Brown's bid of $33.91 - only because it seems to be the

most efficient way to resolve this concern. Ms. [redacted] states in the complaint

that the disputed amount is $263.11. The amount of the abandoned items is

$33-91 - the invoice is enclosed. The difference in the two amounts ($229.20)

is not defined and Susan's Selections believes it does not owe Ms. [redacted] this amount.

I was very pleased with More Than Moving. They came very highly recommended and they more than met my expectations. They were careful, considerate, and easy to work with during a time of downsizing and consolidating. They made sure that everything was exactly how I wanted it handled and tailored to my specific situation! I would definitely use them again.

Review: During our move, several items were delivered to our home that were not ours. Even when the President came to our home, he brought an item he believed to be ours that was not. The damaged furniture was picked up but we have not heard from More than Movers in over a week. Our damaged stainless steel refrigerator has still not been addressed. The hardwood floor damage is in progress but was not repaired at a level that appears to be aligned with an expert's opinion. Most importantly, we have art work and several items that have not been located in more than 8 weeks and have had zero response as to there whereabouts.Desired Settlement: We want our damaged items to be fully repaired or replaced. As for our missing items, some of our valuable art work and others are sentimental that can not be replaced. We have asked to go to their warehouse but have not been allowed. Please note this company is affilliated with Susan's Selections that sells gently used items which we used as our primary number to contact pesonnel when we signed the contract.

[A default letter is provided here which indicates that the business has not responded to you directly. If you wish, you may update it before sending it.]At this time, we have been in contact with the company (only because of our multiple attempts), but nothing has been resolved. Our missing items have not been found, and our damaged furniture has still not been returned to us. Our damaged items were picked up from our house a month ago and there has been no attempt by the company to let us know the status. We have now been in our new house for over 2 months and we are still having to fight to get our belongings fixed and returned.Regards,[redacted]

We have had a very poor experience with More than Moving. We used them to consign many pieces of furniture and items from our home when we were moving to another state - and it has been a terrible experience. We have had nothing but problems with them. We heard nothing from them after they took our things - and finally we emailed them to get an accounting and see what had sold. Upon learning they had sold several items, they told us we would get a check soon, and we never got it. Again after contacting the director herself, we finally received a check. Once again, two more months went by, and we heard nothing, so we emailed again, only to find other things had sold, and we had not received a check. The same thing - the 'check was in the mail' story. It is like pulling teeth with these people. They have our goods, and they sell them, yet the money does not come to us unless we ask for it! DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!
