Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2015/08/20) */ Contact Name and Title: [redacted] , Owner Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXX Contact Email: ***@motionrc.com Mr***'s claim is that the Freewing F-90mm [redacted] Jet he purchased from Motion RC was defective because the landing gear broke during one of his landingsOur team of experts reviewed the flight video of this customer's incident, and it clearly shows a dead stick (no throttle) landing at an approach angle which is way too steep and a rate of descent which was way too fastThe result of this poor landing was a broken landing gearThe hard impact can clearly be heard when the aircraft hits the groundThe landing posture of the aircraft in the customer's video is more than twice as steep as the proper landing posture as shown in our product demonstration video onlineThe customer exceeded the safe operation threshold for this aircraft and is solely responsible for the damage that the jet incurredThe product in question is listed on our website as an "Expert" level jet aircraft, and avoiding a dead stick landing when flying this type of jet is common knowledge to an expert The customer, in his own words, said that he has "never flown a jet like this" and also said it is "over my head" so the customer does not have the expertise to realize how a proper landing of a 90mm thrust vectoring jet should be executedUnfortunately, the person who flew the jet made multiple errors but the customer does not possess the expertise to realize thisThe broken landing gear was clearly pilot error and was in no way attributed to a product malfunction or defect Furthermore, the customer provided video clearly showing that the nose gear and missile pylons are intact immediately following the crash (the video never stopped filming)However, when we asked the customer to provide photos of the damage, his photos showed that the missile pylons and nose gear had been broken off the aircraftThese inconsistencies are concerning to us because they imply that the model was crashed on another occasion not shown on the video Motion RC prides itself on its successful track record of providing the best products and best service in the entire RC industryOur A+ Revdex.com and star [redacted] shopping rating are evidence of our commitment to our customersWe always attempt to solve customer issues quickly and fairly and do whatever possible to satisfy our customerIn cases like this where the issue is clearly not product related (pilot error) we provide the customer with direct, honest feedback and even try to give them advice to avoid future mishaps and help them improve their flying skillsUnfortunately, because Mr***'s product damage was clearly attributed to pilot error, we are unable to provide a replacement plane or replacement parts

I have been purchasing Remote Control hobby products from MotionRC for a number of years Over those years MotionRC has grown from a small, relatively unknown, distributor to a large, very well trusted RC distributor Their secret to success is competitive pricing and their excellent customer service They fill and ship orders very quickly, and I receive what I ordered If there ever is a wrong part shipped, they are gracious and very quick to resolve the issue Recently, I ordered a number of RC accessories, one of which was an LED light controller I could not get the LEDs to work when they were connected to a couple of ports on the controller I thought I was doing something wrong So I sent an email to MotionRC's support department asking for help in determining what I need to do to get things to work They responded within hours They analyzed the problem, determined that perhaps the controller was faulty, and immediately sent me a replacement I received the replacement in three days, and all ports worked on this replacement part Understand that in the RC distribution industry, half of the competitors never even respond to email inquiries, ever When an issue with a faulty part arises, other competitors ignore the issue, and stop responding, or require so much documentation that it is not worth the effort to pursue a resolution MotionRC exhibits these characteristics: - respond to email inquiries in a timely manner - they tell you what they are going to do, and then they do it - their analysis of a problem is usually correct on the first attempt - their resolution to an issue is timely, usually within a day or two They have risen to the BEST IN THE INDUSTRY because they care to please and satisfy the customer They are now my one-stop-shop

Pursuant to our mission of excellence in customer service we had two senior technical representatives and the owner of the
company work with Mr*** to help address and resolve his issueWe exchanged a dozen emails over the time period of 4/to 4/Our return policy clearly states that once an airplane is assembled and/or flown it cannot be returnedThis is the commonly accepted return policy in the entire RC hobby market for the past years due to the complex nature of the products and the virtually unlimited number of factors which can cause a plane to crash once it is airborneIn Mr***'s case he had claimed a product defect caused the main wing on his airplane to break in mid-flight during a "slow pass." Each of our technical representatives has a minimum of years experience flying RC planes and no one has ever seen or heard of a single piece foam wing spontaneously breaking during slow, flightBecause of this unusual claim we assigned two senior resources to investigate his case to determine if a defect may have caused his crashThe photos and description that Mr*** provided were not consistent with a product defect, rather it suggested that the plane was flown beyond its structural limits, the wing may have been damaged on an earlier flight, or the wing damage shown was caused as a result of a crashTo ensure we had additional input, we contacted the manufacturer of the airplane and showed them the evidence provided by Mr***The manufacturer confirmed that it was extremely unlikely that the wing just spontaneously broke as Mr*** described (they have sold approx 10,units of this model and have never had this sort of claim), in fact, they agreed with our assessment that the wing was either damaged on a previous flight or the plane was flown beyond its structural limitsOur owner sent Mr*** a personal email explaining the findings of his caseAs a sign of good faith, we proceeded to offer Mr*** a $store credit which would cover the cost of the materials required to repair his airplaneMr*** expressed that he was not looking for financial compensation, but rather was simply disappointed in his overall experience with this model and was unhappy with our assessment of his claimFinally, he asked us to close the caseWe sent him a final email stating that the case had been closed, and that the store credit still stands in the event he would like to purchase the repair parts

Had a warranty issue with a product that I orderedEven though the warranty period had expired I sent a e-mail to Motion RC asking them to ship me a replacement part at no charge
Within a few hours they approved the claim and I had a order on the way within 24hours!
