Don't do it - the initial call was beyond offensive
I saw an ad on IG and was curious on what this entailed and what the club offered. I spoke with Emmett, and he used my information against me (age, marital status and history) and when I asked if there were dues, he immediately kept going on if I can't afford, maybe it wasnt right for me without telling me how much until 3rd time I asked.
He kept going on about my age, and if I didn't want to sign up, that I could continue doing what I was doing but it obviously wasn't working for me because of my marital history.

I told him I didn't appreciate him using my personal info against me and that he doesn't know what I am looking for.

His whole salespitch was very offensive and ludicrous. This is supposed to be a club to make new friends and try new things - I might have given it a try if it wasn't for his horrific demeanor.

Unprofessional
I just got off from talking to the rude lady. She was very rude and unprofessional. After she asked me a few questions, she pretend like she can’t hear me lol then she hung up the phone on me, no answer when I called back. I think because I have an accent and she thought I’m underqualified 🤷🏽‍♀️ I felt disrespected and discriminated against. I think they just are scammers, please don’t waste your time and money.

Enforced "at all times" Sexist Operations
As a single, professional adult I joined the Calendar, then I promptly quit. The Calendar will ask a prospect a screener question: if one is absolutely male or absolutely female (they do not ask questions about one's ethnicity). I am not 100 percent male or female, have an X for gender ID on my license. I choose to not ID with any gender. This entity refuses to acknowledge diversity in gender outcomes and that people MUST be either male or female at all times. I am offended by these 'you must be this or else' tactics required as a pre-requisite. Wonder if this firm sends its profits from members to sexist conservative, pro-Trump candidates or political action committees.

The company broke the terms of the contract when I moved and no longer could use their services and will not reply to refund my money Per the terms of the contract with HGEG LLC doing business as My Social Calendar, I have right to cancel my membership if my principle residence is miles from the Originating Center to which My Social Calendar has transferred my membershipI must provide proof of movement with documentsI moved from Boston, MA to Columbus, Ohio and provided necessary change of address proof to the companyDespite contacting my representative and the billing department multiple times by email (because there is no working phone number listed on the website, and the number in the contract leads to a telemarketing service) I have not received ANY attempt to resolve my issue and issue a refundBefore my move, I also put my account on hold, which was permissible via the contract for monthsI want credited back my funds from my hold period through the end of the

I Heard About My Social Calender On The Radio ,and I thought is was a good place for young hardworking people to mingle and know each otherI was wrong They gave me a call and I went to their office at Tysons corner vaThe lady that welcomed me was so rudeThey only thing she was interested in was how much I make a year and if I will be able to afford to be in the group And she was also acting for because of my skin colorI was soo uncomfortable until I had to leaveI will never recommend anyone to go thereI think it's a scam

Also, a very SEXIST--firm refuses to acknowledge diversity in gender outcomes and that people MUST be either male or female at all times. I have an X for gender ID on my license, choose to not ID with any gender.

I won't give a coveted star quite yet, but can give a solid and a half nearing I have gone to events so far and had different experiences at eachMy first was a theater performanceI love theater so I thought this was going to be a great starter but it wasn't as interactive as I hopedThough I did get introduced, I had to leave right after the show and couldn't go to the after show mixer with the groupThe second event was the New Member Cocktail event and I had a great timeHost was Julie, Katy signed me up and Rachel is my DirectorAll fantastic and helpfulBut I recommend not going to a show if you can't stay afterwards to meet and greet until you met some people first

When I first looked into My Social Calendar for the Detroit area, it struck me as a professional organization, which had its own Event Facility, where members of the staff would welcome members to events, introduce them to each other, and provide a nice atmosphere where other members, who represent a nice balance of age and sexes, could mingle and get to know each otherI was dead wrongThe events are not hosted at a special Event Facility, but at local restaurants, bowling alleys, and other venuesNo special preparations are made, other than reserving seatingDiscounts at such events are minimal (if they exist at all) and, of course, nearly all events require additional costs (e.gyour meal at a restaurant, parking, renting equipment, etc.) Despite promises in their Handbook, the Event Hosts actually do not take the time to introduce you to everyoneAt best, there's a general “stand around and introduce yourself to the group” (which in my experience has only happened at one event), but no one-on-one introductionsThe age composition is a joke, as it skews heavily towards people in their 40s and 50sThis is probably great for people in this age range, but for those of us in our 20s and 30s, your chances of finding dates (which, face it, is the main reason people join) are slimThe local MSC does host – events a month specifically geared towards and year olds, but these are on weekday nights (which is very inconvenient if you have a night job or have a high-power career which requires 12+ hours of work each weekday)The price for joining is highI have a yearly membership which cost $1,(and was discounted)There is no way out of the contract outside of MSC breaching one of their terms, or you move to an area miles away from a local eventBasically, the only thing that sets MSC apart from any free M [redacted] social group are the following points: [redacted] You pay $1,or more to join and are stuck with it; [redacted] MSC does not provide any more services than M***, other than a credit background check on members and booking reservationsI suggest looking elsewhere for social activitiesThis is a borderline scam and you'll have more money to actually go have some fun with people through M***, volunteer organizations, or amateur sport leagues

This company uses pressure sales tacticsPromises things it does not deliver, and will take money from you at their own discretion Over promises of discounts and services that are never offeredShady sales tacticsTaking fees from you weeks before they are authorized

I would recommend My Social Calendar not just because I met my girlfriend at one of their events months ago (true story, my 5th event, her second- scooped her right up an very proud of it ) but because of the peopleRecently I moved into a new house and had people offer to help me paint and move furniture the weekend I got in the placeI met them all here in the group and if you flash back to a year ago today for me, that would not have been happeningNeedless to say I look forward to the day when I can return the favorEveryone I've met here pretty much from the beginning has had a really great head on their shoulders and just wanted to meet a better quality person than what we/they were finding in the (sometimes shady) bar or app sceneI agree with the poster below me that you should ask for recommendationsRachel is the person I am supposed to ask and she has come up with some pretty good events for who I want to meet, some I wouldn't have consideredI too joined with Katy (Katie?) and she was very thorough

February 23, Dear Revdex.com: I am sorry that your office has been contacted by ** [redacted] regarding her membership with My Social Calendar As I recall, [redacted] joined My Social Calendar on January 14, because she was seeking to improve her social life and meet other quality singles like herAfter discussing her situation for one hour with our Washington DC Membership Director (MD), [redacted] joined our club because she saw the value in the services we were providing The MD told [redacted] that a 15-month membership with our club was $They agreed this would work for both parties, and [redacted] then proceeded to read, and sign our standard contract With respect to canceling a membership, the policy of My Social Calendar is that if a member moves to a location more than miles from one of our affiliated clubs or gets married, he or she may cancel [redacted] has not satisfied any of the these conditions for cancellation and thus, ***’s membership with E&A will continue for the life of the contract which expires 4/14/ Furthermore, [redacted] called and lied to our customer service representative on January 20th indicating that her mother passed away and wanted a refund That is simply inexcusable to claim her mother died when in fact she did not Finally, she initialed on her contract that she is separated after an 8-month marriageBeing separated qualifies her for membershipIf she was in fact married, she would not have qualified to join MSC With warmest regards, Alison A [redacted] Vice-President My Social Calendar

I joined My Social Calendar on 12/29/and paid $I never experienced what they promised and I want a refund When I joined this organization I was told that they had hundreds of members and many were in my age group of early 30'sWhen I attended my first four events, barely a dozen members showed up and none were in my age groupThe youngest members were in their mid 40's and most were in their 50'sWhen you promise something that you cannot possibly provide, you are committing fraudNow when I ask for my refund they say that the contract makes no provision for a refund based on these conditionsBut they lied to me about what they were capable of offeringI stopped going after the fourth event because I felt so emotionally and physically out of place

They closed the local chapter of My Social Calendar where I was a member without any noticeI want a refund of my membership dues I renewed my annual membership to My Social Calendar ManhattanOn 11/6/17, they charged me $on my MasterCard for my duesMy new year started January 8, They closed the chapter at the end of AprilI only found out because I logged on to their website and it said the chapter was no longer activeThere is no contact information on their webs except for a phone number which is out of serviceEvery email I have sent to their employees has either bounced back as undeliverable or has gone unanswered, including to the owner Randy Gardner, [redacted] @mysocialcalendar.comI reached out to other chapters but they don't have any informationI want a refund for the unused months, $

My Social Calendar would not let me cancel my membership 12/29/They are now trying to send to collections and have me buy out contract My Social Calendar would not let me buy out of my contract December after requesting to either buy out or cancel my membershipI have the same credit card I signed up withI got one notification e-mail, 12/20/that states MSC tried to charge my credit card (which they have not) for ~$800, which is untrue, the membership was $for yearsThey said I can now buy out of the contract for $(which is ironic) otherwise they are sending me to collectionsI have never received any warnings from this businessI believe they are a scam and fraud and do not have consumer rights in mind

On August 2, 2016, I called My Social Calendar after having hear advertisements for their services on the radio It is a social networking service that plans events for single people in different areas throughout the East Coast I called and had an extensive (minute) interview and was very interested in their service I agreed to join and charged $to my credit card The contract said that I had hours to change my mind and be refunded the entire $ Since I work full time and go to graduate school, I realized I would not have enough time to utilize their service I sent a certified letter stating that I changed my mind and requested a refund (as per directions on their contract) The letter was post marked on August 5th (within the hour window) I followed the instructions listed on the contact exactly as they were written On August 3rd, I called their corporate office in Pompano Beach, Florida, and was told by a secretary that my purchase would need to be pr

On August 15, 2016, I bought a service of a calendar that has events to meet singles in NYCI made this purchase over the phone and thinking it would be helpful in meeting new people The salesperson told me that I can cancel any time if I'm not able to attend these events due to my schedule and the locations the events are to far from my location

I purchased a membership on 1/25/and cancelled in writing on 1/27/17, as per the terms in the contract, which states that I have days to cancel
I was told in writing that the refund would take up to weeks, which in and of itself is onerousOn 2/16, I received an email from the accounting office confirming that I wanted to cancel, almost weeks after I had requested the refund in writing on 1/Today is 4/3/and I still have not received the refund
