I booked a 3-day car rental from Nu Car through expedia.com (*** * *** *** *** *** ***) and prepaidI picked up the car around 7am on Nov 9, and returned the car around am on Nov 11, 2017.on timeBut after and half months later, I got a charge on my credit card on Dec20, When I returned the car, I confirmed with the lady that everything is cleanIt's unbelievable that they charged me with no reason

NU car rental cost me $due to the simple fact the company DOES NOT EXIST in Fort Lauderdale, FL
I booked my rental months in advance (in august for an october trip) but by the time I got to the airport, called the specific numbers on contract to pick up the shuttle to rental office it was tooo late
Meaning, the company closed downI was not informed until I landed in fort lauderdale when FINALLY getting in touch with someone
Whomever I spoke to sounded like they just got out of bed
He simply said, "we dont have cars there to give out"
Then proceeded to tell me "i guess you have to make other plans"
Needing a car for travels I was forced to pay the VERY HIGH price of reserving same day rental for days $
There were other people also trying to get in touch with this ghost company

Can't believe this company is even allowed to operate legallyBeyond the very dingy office and the fact that it took minutes to be picked up by the airport shuttle van, the main issue I had was one of safetyWhen we finally got our car it was very dirty insideThe back seat's seatbelt had been cut and when I showed the guy he just shoved it under the seat and said it was "fixed"When I turned the car on the Check Engine light was on When I showed the guy he said that the car was in fine shape, but the sensor was not workingI should have not taken the car but wanted to get out of there so badly that we drove offOnce I got on the highway I lost all acceleration and the car's battery/check oil lights turned onI was able to pull to the side of the road, turn the car on/off and got it started againAt that point we decided to return the car and headed backOn the way the same thing happened two more timesThen, the last time, not only did the acceleration stop but the brake stopped working as wellSo, no gas and no brakesI was able to coast to the side of the road and stopped by using the parking brake which, thankfully and surprisingly, workedWe were simply lucky not to have been in a wreckThe guy picked up the car and showed no sympathy at all until my friend mentioned that her husband is a lawyer and we wanted in writing that we'd get a full refundI also got a very poorly written "apology" email saying they'd put new systems in place to avoid this in the future (not that I believe them.) Umm...did it really take this for them to decide not to put unworkable/unsafe cars on the road?

Very bad experience, the website and business phone number do not work I was waiting for the shuttle for hr and 15min and never arrived I ended up renting somewhere else and they still charged for the rental This kind of business are the cause that the tourisism in Puerto Rico keep declining

I've made a reservation with "nucarrentals" for December 21, through Expedia onlineAt the time of reservation there was no statements by "nucarrentals" to charge my credit card prior to picking up the automobile or there was no mention of non-refundable funds which they took without my permissionToday I tried to cancel the reservation and they are claiming the booking is non-refundableI checked my credit card and saw they already charged me $for a service I'd never received

I am rejecting this response because:If someone smoked in the car it was the previous renter, the cleaning crew or the employee who took the car from my possession I am not a smoker nor do I use any form of tobacco products, I do not smoke any substanceThat is a sham, that is a shady response from a shady company that is trying to make extra money from consumers Additionally if there was a suspicion of tobacco usage why was this not addressed upon turn in, and why did they fail to return my calls for an explanation? I can submit medical documents documenting my non use of tobacco products The facts that I'm a govt employee who undergoes random drug tests also can prove I don't smoke other materials in their vehicle as well

The Chicago O'Hare location is a scam! I rented a car late on a Friday night when it was degrees outside and pitch blackI was told to look for damage on the car before I rented itI looked with a flashlight and did not see anythingWas not told to check the windshieldAnyway, I drove the car a total of about to miles for the whole weekendWhen I returned the car, I was told there was a chip in the windshieldIt was probably there before I rented it, and I had not noticed it, because who looks at the windshield for damage in total darkness? When the attendant Virgil inspected the car, without me present, he came back and told me there was a chip on the passenger side windshield and that the manager would call me to discussMaybe Virgil caused the chip while he was alone with the car? I made a rental car reservation with this company to pick up the rental car at the John Wayne airport on 2/7/
When I arrived at the airport, the clerk said there is no car available even though I reserved a car
I had to go to other rental car company to get a rental car
However they charged the rental fee in my credit card anyway

My wife booked a car rental on for pickup in Orange County at John Wayne Airport on through Expedia.com Unbeknownst to me and to my shock and surprise, NU Car Rental charged my Visa card BEFORE the trip I was not made aware the company would charge my card one month before the trip even occurred, nor that there was not a refund or cancellation possible I have never known any company EVER to have this business practice, although I have rented cars for many years from Enterprise, Hertz, Dollar etc., who are all professionals and business personnel who treated us with respect
On when I learned of the early credit card charge, I called Expedia.com in an attempt to cancel the rental RESERVATION, but they said only NU Car Rentals can issue refunds or cancellations I called NU Car and spoke with “Colin” at SO Cal Car Rental in Irvine, CA which is a subsidiary/affiliate company of NU Car *** told me Expedia.com does the refunds I called Expedia.com again

Although we understand that the customer did call in to say that the trip was cancelled, we do state in our policies that all prepaid reservations are non-refundable. We do however advise the customers that the funds will be held for up to one year for use. We did advise the customer
that they could email their original booking source for further information regarding a cancellation and refund request. We did not hear from Car Rentals .com But we did receive notification that the customer has issued a charge back on their credit card - this took place on 08/28/2016. Be advised that once a charge back is issued there is nothing that we can do on our end to assist with any sort of resolution, as the credit card company has already issued the refund to the customer and has sent us the request for reimbursement to the credit card company. Please remove this complaint from the records as this is not valid by virtue of the client taking a different approach and receiving the refund through their credit card company. Nu Car Rentals will not refund a cancelled prepaid reservation We tried to cancel two days after the contract and over months prior to rental They will not refund money and are only offering a year voucher to rent another car from them With this service, I would recommend that no one rents from this organization
