Zero stars!!!! The customer service or what they claim to call customer service is horrible! All you get with this “company” is the complete run around, lies, no progress, & unprofessional sales people. They tell you directors will call you which is just another delay to try & take your money. They try to divert you saying they will send you an email with info you request which is just yet another diversion. It’s been about a month & I still haven’t received either. Their website says a 90-day back money guarantee & when you try to cancel they try to only offer half back. I can’t imagine how much money they are making doing this.

Somehow this company has several different hosts for false advertising and were able to get information about me simply by my looking at a text sent to my phone. Since then they’ve made 2 withdrawals from my government issued SSDI card, the website is closed-that would be ***.com and the message on their phone tells you that all business goes through the website and hangs up ***. I’ve tried to request a refund by text and email to no avail. Their sites are scams and they need to be stopped. Thank you.

I purchased a Domain from Name Cheap as well as Hosting of multiple e mail address and the hosting doesn't work! I've tried their terrible chat service and I've even begged them to let me speak to someone live on the phone. They refuse to speak over the phone because they know their product is terrible.

Worst support I have ever dealt with. Moved my hosting from one domain (on namecheap) to another (still on namecheap) and I couldn't, under ANY circumstances, make either page direct to the new hosting account. It took over a month to fix, during which my sites were all down, yet I was billed for premium hosting.
They "do not offer refunds" and will hang up on you when you remind them that that's technically theft.

Even when speaking calmly.

Do yourself a favour, pay a little more and go to a better hosting / domain company. These guys are terrible and not worth it, I promise.

This is a customer service issue and a billing issue. Name Cheap has privacy issues. I have several domain names with name cheap. I guess I started using them about to years ago I regret it now. I pointed my domain name server to another company Thursday January 9,2020. I had contacted the company an told them that I had pointed the domain name to their company. I was waiting on the company to put up my website. The company contacted me and told my that my domain name was not pointing to them it was still pointed to the other company. I knew for sure that I had pointed it so you know anything can happen. So I said that I would check to see on the first attempt I got an message telling me that it was my third attempt but it was only the first time I had attempted to sign in to the account. It told my in order to access my account I had to change my password. I changed my password and once I got in the account the name server was pointed by to the company that I had changed it from. But that's not the problem the problem is it would not let me pointed to the company that is putting up my website. I tried it 3 or 4 times. It wouldn't let me do it. Normally you can chat with in your account I was getting an error message saying that the chat within my account was broken. It wouldn't let me chat within my account but I could chat outside of my account once I got into the account I told customer service that either an employee had enter my account or my account had been hacked. She contacted Risk Management. Risk Management Locked me out of the account which was strange. Normally they will tell you to change your password. The problem is they will not let me enter my account and I have been locked out a week now. I have asked them several times to release my domain name so I can transfer it. They are not saying and thing nor or they doing anything. The have stop answering my e-mails. I would like for them to allow me to enter my email and transfer all my domains.

Your guarantees and terms of use are vague and misleading. For example you state there is a 30 Day Refund Guarantee on Business Shared Hosting. Yet in the terms there is a statement that it is only good if you are a first time shared hosting user. When I went to cancel the comp denied my refund and stated it was ANY shared hosting plan. They applied first time use across all shared hosting plans... NOT the Business plan only. The others do not carry a guarantee but you get store credit MAYBE?? It is misleading and makes no sense. How does a cheap plan compare with their best plan in terms of a refund? Fraud!!

Another issue is 50 free SSL Certs. Yet if you have ever had a free cert with a domain...you cannot use it again towards that domain. SO, I guess the free 50 are for any new domains you purchase OR have never used??? How else is it good? I understand the concept, but state it UP FRONT not somewhere hidden in the terms.

I was a victim of an elaborate scam online - we thought we were purchasing a purebred Siberian kitten online - went thru signing a contract and everything - was convinced to send money thru our *** app using *** and then sent to unitedshippingsystem.com - a domain hosted by name cheap. I provided them very detailed information showing them the scam, (*** were also being used and shut down the two fraudulent sites in less than 24 hours). They just keep giving me the run around. I even provided a legit website that reports all the pet scam websites and other peoples testimonies and they didn’t care. They don’t even have a physical phone number to call! I would be more than happy to provide even more extensive information as proof. I reported the scammers to the FTC and FBI as well in hopes they will stop these criminals!

Namecheap causes my website to display at www.***.com however it causes my website to not dusplay at ***.com . Our contractual agreement mandates Namecheap's obligation to display my website with or without www.

the system took my brand name "primeskincare" that is an international trademark and delivered a domain name that is not correct. I want the correct spelling or a refund.

Hi I was shown webhosting with unlimited resources, and I bought the hosting in July 2019, but suddenly today my webforms stop working and when I contacted support they asked me to upgrade to VPS hosting, they said that 'Entery Process' on website has reached its limit, it was no where mentioned when I was buying the webhosting and now suddenly they blocked the webform request. I think im not going to get refund but I want to alert other not to get in this scam.

Namecheap locked my domains because of an error created by their credit card processor!!
Had domains and SSL certificates at Namecheap for a number of years. In routine process of buying an additional service the following happened: I paid with Amex, finishing the purchase at namecheap.com, shortly after Amex called me and asked it was an authorized charge ('because they had trouble with this merchant'). I said it was authorized. After a few days namecheap said I had disputed the transaction. Namecheap wanted $175 for the 'reputation damage' I cause them.

I told the namecheap person the payment showed up on my Amex and had not been disputed. Namecheap agreed that I had paid. Namecheap agreed that I had paid and the payment was valid, but said it was still disputed and embarrassed them (I imagine what they means is that they don't have credit card processing in their own name and they are only allowed so many 'disputes' before they are cancelled). Not sure how it can be disputed and valid at the same time.

I went back and forth with Amex and Namecheap a number of times. Amex told me over and over that it was not disputed. Namecheap said it was. There is no way for me to fix this.

As I investigated it seems that Stripe is Namecheap's credit card acquiring processor. Stripe probably could fix this, but I don't even have a contract with Stripe. Really NameCheap is the one that needs to fix for the customer.

And Namecheap will not release the Domain they locked (not even the service I was purchasing - but a different domain) without payment of $175. I will not do this!!

This company spoofed my professional email address to send thousands of emails to foreign email addresses. Many bounced back, filling my inbox, and my sent folder stuffed with the results of the sent emails. I have had no interaction with this company for them to have my email address nor have I authorized them to use my email address in any way.

I’m extremely disappointed with there service. I created account with them on the 12th of July. On the 13th of July I decided to cancel due to being mislead from another website. I contacted there online chat and was giving the run around to receive my $9 back. Instead of the customer service person just refunding me she places me on hold and I’m told that she will see what she can do???????At this point I’m not understanding what’s going on. I was told they needed to contact 4 additional departments before she can refund me over hour and half I finally was told that they can refund me but once I asked for email confirmation of my refund I was told they don’t provide confirmations that they just creat documents in regards. I don’t have creditability in a company that can’t confirm I will receive a refund and informed I would contact my state attorney general office, Revdex.com as well as PayPal. Don’t like dealing with companies quick to take your money and go through hoops and loops to get my money back. Buyers Be Aware

I’d give zero stars if possible. I was recommended to get domains through them since it could be much cheaper, and didn’t have them for more than a month before they stopped working and was told they were suspended for some imaginary violation. They were on CBD, which is legal and made no sense why it would be suspended. They told me I couldn’t get a refund, as it wasn’t eligible. They are a scam company that does not honor its deals, and gave zero assistance in getting the problem resolved.

Registrar Name Cheap is harassing me with spam e-mail, by proxy, as their system is infected with software that auto-creates websites with already infected software. The already infected websites then send out spam e-mail, at will.

Registrar Name Cheap has been made aware of this problem, yet refuse to do anything about it. The Registrar oversight and advisory committee called ***.org, has too been complained to about Registrar Name Cheap's refusal to fix their infected system. ***.org has contacted Registrar Name Cheap repeatedly over the years to fix various problems, including a previous complaint I made to ***.org about Registrar Name Cheap's infected software that auto-creates websites with already infected software. Now, I deal with the same thing again at the hands of Registrar Name Cheap, harassment with spam e-mail, by proxy.

Ever heard the saying "You get what you pay for?" Namecheap is a perfect example of this! Their whole infrastructure and support is complete crap!
A little over a month ago I purchased a domain and hosting plan through Namecheap for EasyWP. Now, since then I had a few issues on EasyWP. Such as backups freezing during the restore or backup process.
I rebuilt my site 2-3 times because of this alone!
Now, I got it working how I wanted and stable, finally. I go and renew this month, everything is fine.
A couple days later I go to check my website. In EasyWP. My Website is GONE, completely. EasyWP shows I have NO HOSTING PLANS!
No problem, I will contact their support, they have backups right? WRONG!
I contact support, and they tell me my renewal was for the Stellar plan and not EasyWP... Now why would a RENEWAL RENEW A DIFFERENT PLAN?!
I checked my billing for the original payment, and it also listed Stellar. Even though I originally signed up specifically through EasyWP To use Wordpress.
IT WORKED FOR THE FIRST MONTH FOR WHAT I SIGNED UP FOR!
But for some reason Support could not help me get it working again, or you know they could even offer to cancel the renewal (from 6 days ago) And set me up with a PROPER EasyWP Plan. I would have dealt with that, even if I had to rebuild.
But support just wanted to sit there and tell me the issue was I had the wrong plan, and there was no way to get my EasyWP back, and that Stellar wont work with EasyWP.
So, if you want a clunky website, or support who is clueless as to what they are doing or how to help. Then by all means go use Namecheap!

I opened an account with the domain name company (Name Cheap) back on Feb 3, 2018. I purchased 24 domains, all of which were listed around $.88 for the year. My understanding of this was the price was locked at that price as long as I renewed the account every year.

On December 28th, 2018 I received an auto email alert that my account will renew. Since I purchased the accounts in February I assumed it wouldn't do the auto renew for another month. I was currently in an area that had no cell converge (this was by design) for my family holiday and didn't have full access to email, so I was going to wait until I returned home to take care of shutting down there service since it would not be needed. I contacted NameCheap on January 4, 2019 to close the account, only to find out that the auto renew went through on the same day. My original purchase total was $58.57, which wouldn't have been an issue to renew, however the renewal rate was $499.60.

This huge rate increase made me very upset, I had no idea and reading through all the original paperwork, I never once saw the full rate, or understood this was a limited time offer on price. Since I contacted them on the same day I assumed they could help me get the account closed and maybe a partial refund since I was only going to use the service for 11 months from the original start date, however there was a blanked no. So I paid $60 for a year service plus $500 for another year within an 11 month period.

Their stance was since auto renew was selected there is absolutely no refund. The accounts have been inactive for over 4 months at this point, I have paid for a service for another year and yet they will not close the account. They claim to have all customer service issues respond within 48 hours, however at this point I'll go 3-4 weeks between their response. I simply want this issue resolved, I've already mentally wrote off the loss of money, I just want this company to get close the account.

I cancelled the auto-renew with Namecheap. They still billed me and refused a refund. The business I operated has been closed for months. I do not need the website and I know I turned off auto-renew. The billed my credit card without authorization and have refused to cancel the charge. They have also threatened to charge me $200.00 if I dispute the charge through my credit card company.

Signed up for business hosting for a year. Email services would not work properly. Hours spent with overseas tech support on live chat. They couldn't fix it. I moved to a different company, which worked immediately. Namecheap refused to give a prorated refund after I moved off of their broken hosting solution. I consider this theft.

I would like to opt-out of voterdata.org. I filled out the opt-out form but they still have not removed my contact information from their website. I checked on iCANN whois and they are registered with Namecheap. I called ICANN and was told to contact the registrar to inform them about the issue and Namecheap has ignored my request, they sent an email giving me the run around instead of forwarding my request to the owner of the webstie voterdata.org. According to ICANN whois the only email that is provided for the domain voterdata.org is [email protected].

Namecheap emailed me asking me to email the website owner. The website owner does not have a contact page. ICANN whois does not list an email address for the website owner other than [email protected].

Namecheap emailed me asking me to email the following "If the contact details are hidden by WhoisGuard, feel free to send your email to the protected email address (like ***[email protected]" BUT AS I STATE THERE IS NO EMAIL ADDRESS LISTED ON WHOIS OTHER THAN [email protected].

It is the registrars job to forward my request to voterdata.org or block their website for not following the rules.
