Before getting to the explanation I want to begin by stating we will be refunding the amounts paidPlease note, however, that one of the payments was rejected (reason unknown on our end) so the four charges that went through will be refunded. We are also going to comp each of the five
individuals for one yearHopefully they will enjoy a more positive experience going forward and will want to renew the membershipsWe will also send the bags.Membership begins the day of processing by NRAThere are reasons for this related to insurance and voting rights for MembersThese were processed on December and bags were ordered on December The bags have been on backorder as a result of the unexpectedly large number of orders we receivedBut, they are in the queue for the individualsThat should have been previously communicated.Processing on December would also have resulted in the first magazine arriving in JanuaryLabel information is pulled at certain times and, by 12/4, the cutoff was missedWhen that happens, though, it does not affect the total number of magazines received and every Member still gets a full year of magazinesApparently this was not explained well, or at all, to the individual who calledI apologize for the annoyanceHopefully, going forward, everyone enjoys their Memberships, magazines, and experience and decides to continue as NRA MembersWe are a voluntary membership organization and we work hard to keep our Members happyHopefully this will be the end result here.If you need anything else on my end, please let me know

I will update our records and have your phone number placed on our internal "Do Not Call" list to ensure that we do not call you againPlease allow 7-business days for this to take full effect

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:This is a case of identity theft, plain and simple. I have never been falsely impersonated or signed up illicitly by any other organization. If the NRA, or one of it's reps took it upon themselves to sign me up then I would bet that I am not the only one they have perpetrated this fraud upon. Judging from the propaganda they send out (and that I am still receiving even though they claim to have "cancelled my membership") they have a problem misrepresenting the facts. That my name is now being falsely associated with them I find truly repugnant. Surely they have a record of who signed me up, how were you paid? Follow the money. This is a clear case of identity theft. And how about a apology, since you admit that someone went online and signed me up? Instead I get some grief about the free knife which I neither asked for or want. I think this matter should be looked into further by the Revdex.com.

Mr. [redacted] I absolutely apologize for your experience with joining the NRA.  Unfortunately it can take some time for local recruiters to get their applications sent in to us for processing, however that is no excuse for your experience with us.  Your situation did take longer than it...

should have.  We have comped you an additional year, and I am personally making you a membership card here at HQ and also sending out the May issue of [redacted].  You should also be getting the June issue later this month.  Thank you for bringing this to our attention.  If there is anything else we can assist you with, please do not hesitate to contact us a ###-###-#### or by email [redacted].

Best Regards,
Tim

The NRA duffel bag has been ordered for you,
but has yet to physically ship out to your mailing address. Due to the large
response we received from the offer you responded to we are currently
experiencing a severe backlog of orders. We are expected to receive delivery of
the backordered items shortly and will begin shipping them out as soon as we
receive them. It will take approximately 6-8 weeks to ship out the backordered
items. We apologize for the delay, and are working to fill every order as soon
as possible.

We are extending your membership for an
additional 6 months for this inconvenience. A new membership card has
been ordered for you to reflect these changes and will arrive in about 3-4
weeks.

Thank
you very much for your continued patience and support!

Sincerely,

Beware!!! I sent in a renewal two years ago, TWO YEARS AGO. I never received my membership card, and since I had moved three months after renewing, I emailed them for a new card and with a mailing address.
When they failed again to respond, despite numerous attempts to secure the card, I contacted them - again, SEVERAL TIMES, and advised I wanted my money back since they either couldn't or wouldn't send me a membership card.
They flat out refused, stating they did not give refunds. So, I was left with NOTHING, no way to prove membership or receive the benefits associated therewith, for two years.
Now, they have the nerve to send me a renewal form!!! Not only was this ONLY a temporary mailing address, they did NOT have permission to share any of my information with their affiliates. Rot in h[redacted] NRA.

Please see the initial response. The issue was clearly addressed. and the resolution was more than fair [redacted] asks what he should tell NRA members. I would ask the same, i.e., what should we tell the Members who paid more but would receive less? That is not fair to those Members. Speaking as a Benefactor Life Member myself, the resolution is more than fair. (When I joined nearly two decades ago the cost for just the Life Membership was $750. In this case, it was reduced to 2/3 of that. I am not complaining as I support this cause and this organization.) Again, clearly addressed and more than fair.

In February of last year, we limited her husband's renewals to three per year. I had our Membership Division do the same for her membership.NRA sends renewal notices throughout the year, including in a new or renewing Member's new credential package, offering a discounted price and/or a premium...

for renewing. A Member's expiration date is printed on the membership card and also appears on the label of the monthly magazine. We are not hiding the ball and certainly are not acting in an unethical manner. For non-Life Members, one only gets voting privileges once one has five years of consecutive membership, i.e., with no break. With nearly five million Members, some need, want, or demand fewer or more notices than others. It is impossible to develop a policy that works for all. Over the years, we've found the system works best and avoids complaints concerning a loss of voting rights. Nevertheless, we implemented the method whereby renewals can be limited to three. I also had both accounts put on our "promo kill" list which should limit other mail going to them. I sincerely hope this resolves the matter. Nevertheless, if they still wish to cancel this is a voluntary membership organization. They can respond via the Revdex.com system and I will make sure the memberships are cancelled. As they have been paid for, I hope these two Members will stick with us and see the benefits of being a NRA Member and joining with other like-minded individuals in the defense of our Second Amendment rights.

Revdex.com:First, let me apologize to **. and [redacted] for the confusion and their understandable annoyance. The individuals who place calls are provided with very limited information concerning our Members. That information does include, however, an expiration date but only that date...

listed when the file is pulled for callers to use. They do not have access to real-time information so [redacted]' wife's recent renewal would not have been known to the person calling. Similarly, other information concerning [redacted]' Membership would not have been known. We are very protective of our Members' information.Subsequent to the instant file being pulled (where [redacted]' Membership showed an October, 2014 expiration) we received the renewal. It appears the individual spoke to [redacted] on or about September 26, 2014. I assure you the confusion was not intentional. Membership in NRA is purely voluntary. We never send some "bill me" account to a collection agency -- ever. This particular "bill me" was cancelled this afternoon. If any letters concerning it are received after today the process for their creation started before today. Please tell [redacted] they can be thrown away.I understand the frustration and the desire to cancel his Membership. I hope he will reconsider. Please have him write me directly at [redacted]@nrahq.org. I am a staff member, at Headquarters, and, like [redacted], a Member. Instead of quitting, I would like to extend his Membership another year at no cost to help make up for the annoyance. Please have him write me directly either way so I can have the account updated, no matter which option he chooses.I hope this information proved helpful.Sincerely,Skipp *. G[redacted]Assistant General Counsel

I receive several calls a week (during business hours at work and weekends) I have repeatedly NOT TO CALL ME! and take me off their calling list. This has not stopped them I just keep getting harassed asking for money and enrollment. I'm on a fixed income and cannot give anymore. PLEASE STOP CALLS!!!

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:I actually did not expect another business response. I thought the Revdex.com was going to determine merit of complaint. There really isn't much more that I can say. The NRA is evasive towards certain questions. The NRA states that their resolution is more than fair. Unless I am responding to the wrong complaint, I am not sure that I read anywhere that they even offered me a resolution. The NRA stated that I can purchase the tactical bag from their store at 114.00 plus tax and shipping. It would be safe to say that this is not a fair resolution. I think I made the best offer. I am willing to purchase the 114.00 bag for $342.25. This will satisfy life time dues for my son and I and at the same time we will be ineligible for any more promotional offers. Without any balance remaining would make it easier to donate to the NRA instead. The NRA talks about members that paid more and received less and what dues were 20 years ago. These statements are obviously irrelevant to the original complaint. The bottom line is that this complaint is based on marketing and or promotional offers that the NRA creates to retain members and or seek new members which is fine. NRA marketing team makes these offers and chooses to reduce member dues. Not me.  I only respond to the offer and hope the offer is carrying out with integrity.

I...

would like to start this response by apologizing to **. [redacted] for the items being on back-order. We processed his Membership renewal on February 25 and the items were ordered on February 26. Unfortunately, due to the large response to this particular offer, the back-order resulted. When something like that happens there is little we can do but wait until the items come in and in sufficient number. For these items, they have been arriving and they should go out to him any day now (our records do not show they have shipped yet).We have a record of his communications, starting two weeks after we processed his renewal. But, again, there was nothing we could do to speed the process up and, as stated previously, membership dues are not refundable per NRA governing documents.**. [redacted] is a long-time Member of NRA and I, along with NRA, do not want to lose him as a Member and, again, I apologize for the understandably annoying delay. I would like to offer him a free one-year extension on his Membership as well as an additional premium, a Bullet Pen. We have those in stock and they can be sent immediately. I hope he will take us up on that offer and accept my sincere apology as a fellow long-term Member. I can be contacted directly at [redacted]. I can then get a buddy of mine in our Membership Division to take care of this personally.Again, I am sorry for the delay and the annoyance and I hope we can resolve this and restore **. [redacted]'s faith in our NRA.[redacted]

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
1.  No membership packet ever received.2. NRA expects me to make multiple phone calls to them begging for these membership materials.3. In my opinion NRA representative has not done anything personally, towards resolving this issue, by not verifying the accuracy of the information  provide.4. My disappointment and frustration with the NRA has only grown, with each response I receive.
Regards,
[redacted]

I called the number listed in the complaint. It rings to [redacted]. Of course, that is not NRA. Nevertheless, I forwarded the two phone numbers listed in the complaint to our Membership Division to be placed on our internal Do Not Call list. If calls are coming from NRA, this should stop them. Please...

note that numbers to be called are selected in advance so it will take a few days for any calls to stop.I hope this information proved helpful.

Please see the original response. Someone signed him up. At his request we canceled the Membership. Without any supporting facts whatsoever he seems to think NRA just decided to add him to our roll. It is not clear why he thinks he would be so targeted. The first I ever heard of this individual is when he filed this complaint. I do not recall anyone ever making such a claim. Millions of Americans who support the mission of the NRA and the United States Constitution join NRA and renew their memberships. There is no logical reason behind his baseless allegations for this one, one-year membership. This is a waste of the Revdex.com's time. If the Revdex.com thinks this complaint has any merit whatsoever, please reply to both me and this individual with the reasons for thinking so. Otherwise, NRA considers this matter closed.

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:Response from NRA claims that a membership packet was sent out to me a week ago.  No such membership packet was ever received.  If I pay for a 1 year membership, it is expected that the materials necessary for taking advantage of that membership, be sent out in a timely manner.  The NRA representative that responded to this complaint is in error.
Regards,
[redacted]

Please see the previous responses. He speaks of lies and dishonesty but there are no specifics. If Revdex.com feels this complaint has any merit whatsoever please explain so. Otherwise, this appears to just be name calling and this matter is therefore closed.

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:After reviewing the response from the NRA, I noticed that their response did not include a respondents name, department or title. It is also possible that the Revdex.com edited this info. I do not know if this letter was actually written from an executive employee or customer service.I am confused with the first statement. " [redacted] has called and written several time". Is this a question? Comment or statement? Is the author of this letter admitting that they received my letters and intentionally chose to ignore them? I am confused and would like them to clarify what they meant. The author of the response is not specifying the facts according to my complaint. In proper sequence, my son received an offer to start up a new easy pay life membership which offered a tactical briefcase as a new sign up. The offer also offered a discounted pay off amount of $500.00. It was then that I called the life membership department and inquired about getting a similar offer with a current easy pay life already started. The member service rep did offer me the same deal without any issue. This left me with a much smaller balance to be paid off, Although, I did satisfy the $500.00 requirement to receive the briefcase, but The $500.00 was not paid in one payment so it was denied. On my sons offer, he would have received a tactical briefcase and a bullet pen which he received neither. It was then about a week later that I received the offer to pay off my remaining balance and receive a tactical briefcase and a bullet pen which we received neither. It is agreed that I did pay my life membership at a reduced rated and with my son being a new eligible life membership, why would we have not been eligible for one briefcase? When dealing with Mr. B[redacted] (customer service), It was a courtesy that he sent me a cameo bag but in no way was this to satisfy my original complaint of not receiving briefcase. Mr B[redacted] was aware that I still wanted to write Mr. L[redacted] and tell him my story. What the author of the business reply does not make clear to the Revdex.com, is that the reduced life membership deal I received and the receiving the cameo bag were taken care of by separate individuals and not related to each other at all. The NRA makes it sound like I am greedy and not happy with what I received but we have recieved multiple offers in the mail over many years and they do get confusing, especially when a household has more than one member.  The author of this letter also states "Although the matter is that simple". So then if the matter is so simple, why choose to ignore letters written by dues paying member and admit this to the Revdex.com?The NRA also states "We've gone to great lengths to try to make him happy, including knocking the $500 off the price and sending him a different bag". These are false statements and very misleading. To re emphasize, The offer I received from the life membership department was before I wrote my first letter to Mr. L[redacted]. My life membership dues were paid off on June 23rd and my first letter was dated June 27th.  I did not argue or haggle to get my dues reduced. They did it with no problem. It was not done to satisfy my complaint about briefcase and executive officers didn't even know about this issue at that point so they are making a false statement. How does the NRA say the have gone out of their way and admit to the Revdex.com that they could have prevented this complaint but they chose to ignore 3 letter? Makes no sense to me. Their response did not state the truth and sounded very unprofessional. They failed to address how a member is supposed to reach the executive members for any type of reason. Is the Revdex.com the proper format for mediating or communicating with the NRA? Do they not have a secretary in the executive department? Has Mr. L[redacted] gotten so big that he is not even reachable to the members? The NRA also states "He still insists on the briefcase". This is also misleading and false. I do not insist on anything. I do feel that between the two offers, we should have been entitled to receive the briefcase. The author of this letter also failed to address why we never got the bullet pens in our offers. I think it is evident that I never insisted on anything. All I wanted to do is present the facts of my case to Mr. L[redacted] and that is it. It was his choice to ignore what he calls, A simple matter. It is sad and unfortunate that an organization that stands to protect my rights and educate the public on many issues, would act so unprofessional. Because of the NRA, MY son was on a rifle team for 5 years and I became an NRA certified Range Officer and volunteered on his team as a Range Officer. We are NRA members who carry a lot of pride for being members. How do I explain this to other members?I am a believer of presenting truthful facts and not distorting or making misleading statements. In conclusion, I am still hoping to receive a briefcase and the bullet pens. As life members, there are no more dues to pay and there will be no more offers because we have satisfied our life dues. The NRA advises that I can purchase the tactical bag on their website. The cost is $114.00 plus shipping and applicable taxes. The balance of my son's easy pay life dues are $342.25 if site is correct. I will present this offer. If I were to make a final payment to satisfy Justin's life dues, will you give us the briefcase as a final gift? Between both life memberships paid off, We would have paid you $1000.00 which far exceeded the requirement for this gift. We are not greedy, we are more than willing to work out a fair and mutual compromise to close this complaint and restore our relationship with you. Thanks for considering this offer.
