Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
October 30,
This letter is in response to Mr *** ***' response to ray original complaint # ***
Mr *** states that I delayed the project, which did happen once...After I gave my deposit in April 2014, I
had no definite time frame from New House Worx by mid MayThey could only tell me that my job was 16th in
lineI phoned several times trying to obtain a commitment on a start date to no availI again called New House Worx on
June 18, to see where I was on their list, & was told that they would be at least another to weeks! At that time I had another project that I allowed to start in early JulyThat job was still being done when New House Worx called at the end of July
I told them it had to wait until I had a completely functional bathroom to use while they completed the main bathroom
This was the one and only time that I delayed the project
They were supposed to start on August 1, which they cancelled because they were on another jobThey rescheduled for the 14th of August & even confirmed this
date on the 13th, but at 8:AM on the 14th they again cancelled because they were finishing another jobAt this point, I had been hiring people to sit with my year old Mother, as she has dementia & is confused by
strangers being in the houseThe sitters' patience was wearing thin at this constant rescheduling alsoI suggested starting on September because I was off work on the 12th,
& I took a personal day for the 11th so I could be home when they started the project
On September 11, they were to arrive at 9:to begin tearing out the tub & flooringA worker arrived at 11:to startHe was on his phone
off & on the entire time he was here, & he told each person that he spoke to that he was leaving at 3:so " he could get the check back to the office"
The check, that he was referring to was my second paymentI did give him the second installment, because at this time I felt that the job was going to progress to completion
A different employee came on September 12, & I asked him about the damage done to the ceramic tile on one wallHe recommended I call the office, which I did
I requested that I speak to the owner, on this day & at least a dozen times since, however, Mr *** does not care to speak with meI also invited him to come to see the damage, again, via the office secretary, but he never responded to that invitation
On September 15,realized the shower base was not the correct one, & was told, through the secretary, that Mr *** would fix the damage to the wall IF I kept the base that was incorrect
I refused because, the reason for the entire project was to make life simpler for my Mother
It took an additional days for the correct base to be ordered!! It was at this time that I realized the shower head & safety bars were not the ones that I orderedWhen I informed the office of these discrepancies, the secretary stated they were not wrong, according to Mr***
After the new base was ordered on September, it took days to get them back to work on the project!
On October 9, an employee came to work on the project, however, he left an hour after he arrived!! I was
told that he went for material for the jobI was told that he would be back first thing
in the morningHe did not show up, & when I called the office, I was informed that he quit his job
I filed the complaint with Revdex.com on October
it was at this time that I was informed that there is a second owner in the company, *** ***It was a surprise to me because no one ever mentioned a second owner, even after all of ray requests to speak with the owner
As it happened, *** was coming to look at the damaged wall later that day, but I was not informed of his position in the companyI expressed my total dis-satisfaction with the company, & the distrust in their abilities to complete my projectI did accuse
the company of a "bait & switch" with regards to the shower head & safety barsMr *** got very indignant & defensive at that accusation, however, when I showed the items to him, he apologized & stated
"these aren't what we normally use" "I see why you think we're trying to pull a fast one on you" "these will be changed to the ones you ordered."
Mr*** stated that he was going to find ceramic tile in the color to match the existing walls to replace the damaged wallI agreed, with the stipulation that it be an exact matchMr *** delegated the search for the tile to the installer more than two weeks after the original discussion on October
My Mother & I have endured weeks of our main bathroom having a toilet but no sink, bare studs where a tub used to be, and a stripped, uneven floor! I asked for the sink to be installed on October 10, but the installer "didn't have time" to do that dayHe said he would come back on Saturday October 11, to install the sink, but never showed upI had to go to work, so I called the office, but nothing was rescheduled
On October the installer came to finally finish the job! On the 30th, we discovered the seat is not the correct one that I orderedI phoned the office to inform them of this & was told that Mr *** insists the seat is the one I ordered
The salesman placed my order for a " low profile" shower base as "lp", the shower head was written," needs to be a big one", and the seat was written as "full diamond seat"
I ordered the seat that is technically listed as" extended comer" the one they ordered is simply a "corner" seat Mr, *** is now refusing to correct this issue
The salesman took my order for the project, which included corner shelf units, which are hung above the seat unitThis configuration would not be functional with the smaller corner seat
I have never had to place a complaint with the Revdex.com before & I sincerely hope that I never have to againI do not want any other consumer to have to go through the stress and aggravation that I have endured for the past months!!
I want this nightmare to end and to finally be done with this company!
Thank you,

Re: *** ***
Dear Ms*** *** ***
I am addressing the complaint of water getting behind the gutter and soffit with the $of gutter roof we gave to Mr***The gutter roof goes under the first layer of shingles creating a shield so water cannot penetrate throughThe water problem is a roof issue
Our supplier who makes the vinyl siding does not recommend using caulking everywhere on the sidingCaulking around windows and doors is common sense where cold air can get inside, but that is different than caulking on sidingSiding when properly installed is designed to channel water away from the homeCaulking does not benefit the installation and is actually detrimentalVinyl expands and contracts at very high rates and the final result is that caulking on siding becomes brittle, loose and eventually falls outThe main purpose of the siding is to channel the water properly
The door manufacturer took full responsibility of the door and also reported it was not an installation issue and it was a manufacturer issue
The flower boxes were 100% free of chargeThey were given at the time of the contractMr*** knows this and is not being honest concerning the flower boxes
Mr***, the installer of the siding, has thirty-plus years of experience installing siding without a customer complaintThe house has many issues because of the shortcuts taken by the builderThe house is poorly builtSiding, soffit and fascia cannot create roof problems
Sincerely,
*** ***

Dear Revdex.com:
/>
This complaint is hearsayI have highlighted basically everything that is untrue and most of it is untrue
The customer was contracted to do specific jobs with a 8-week lead time,
Today would have been around ten weeks and we would have completed all the work
As per the signed contracts, we have sent a refund to the customer less 20% for late cancellation, We have pressed charges at the magistrate for slander
This complaint cannot be recorded against us or the Revdex.com will have to get involved at the magistrate
Again, there are many accusations in this complaint and for that reason we have no course of action but to file a civil complaint against this customer
Sincerely,
*** ***

Dear Ms. [redacted]:

I am writing in regards to the Complaint ID# [redacted] - [redacted]

Pittsburgh Exteriors went to the home of [redacted] numerous times and did what the customer requested. The...

customer got a friend supposedly is a contractor to say our job was not complete.

Caulking is not placed everywhere on a vinyl siding job if the siding is installed correctly. Caulking is only placed to hide mistakes and is used sparingly because it gets brittle, cracks and falls apart. Siding is installed to drain the water properly without caulk.

This job was completed by a seasoned veteran with over 30 years of experience. We never had one complaint of a leak.

We sent out the doors manufacturer’s representative to align the door. The problem with the door was a manufacturing door defect. The flower boxes were free of charge.

The leak at the entry door was the cause of a bad roof install. Pittsburgh Exteriors did not install the roof. The installation of the siding did not cause the roof leak. We gave the customer $800 in free gutter protection to help his bad roof installation. No thanks was given there. This is a roof problem and we did not do the roof.

This complaint is not our concern, but we tried to do everything we could to please them. Nothing we did was ever appreciated. They just wanted a refund. We do warrant our product and will stand

behind it. At this point it is [redacted]’s roofing company’s issue.

My concern is that this has turned into a complaint on work that is not contracted with us. We tried to help this customer and saved him thousands of dollars.

It is a shame we have been treated this way.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. They neglected to return our phone calls.   He said we were impatient.   After several weeks go by without the decency of a return call, as a consumer you begin to wonder.    After leaving some very clear messages--like the next call will be from our attorney, they returned the call with a mirage of excuses.   Excuses were:   Our refacing person quit, Project managers quit, The secretary was expected to handle the communications (her hands were tied), etc.
Then he said they were giving us all new cabinets at no further cost.   As additional time went by with no call backs, we issued a letter requesting our money back within 10 days--per the HICP Act of 2008.   We had our local police department research the companies validity and make a phone call.    It was at that point, he offered our money back but didn't have it currently and sent us a post-dated check for 10/10/2014.
After that, the secretary called to actually create a contract indicating we were getting all free cabinets.  We agreed as it seemed like nothing was ever going to happen.   I new contract with an official start date seemed like the final compromise.    Once we agreed on wording, she was unable to get Mr. [redacted] to sign it.   So, we drove out to get signatures and his words to her was "give them their money".   So they did, we stopped and cashed it.
I just want the consumers to be warned about this company.   The unnecessary stress they caused us is ridiculous and I don't want others to have to experience it.
Regards,
[redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Dear Revdex.com:
In response to Mr. [redacted]’s position of my complaint being
hearsay, and that they he has initiated a civil complaint.  My response is that I welcome the opportunity
for this to be heard before a Magistrate.
Mr. [redacted] is correct, a check that was promised to be sent out 10 to
15 business days after June 16th, which would have been July 7th,
and after calling New House Worx and speaking with [redacted], who said it would
be sent on Friday, which would have been July 11th, and then being
called the following week  by [redacted] to be
told [redacted] stated the check would be sent on Friday July 18th,
was finally received on July 21st for it to be postdated to July 23rd,
only to not be able to cash it at the bank at 8:30 a.m. due to insufficient funds
was finally processed on July 24th.
However the amount as confirmed and agreed to with [redacted] on 2 separate
occasions, which was $4,020, was only $2,565.
Please note that I sent the following email to Mr. [redacted]
after returning from the bank, unable to cash the check due to insufficient
funds.  The following email was sent to
Mr. [redacted] on July 23rd, I have not received a call or a return email
from him.
Dear [redacted]:
First let me thank you for sending
a check for the projects, however at the same time wish to express my
disappointment that the amount of $2,565.00 is not in the amount that I had
discussed with [redacted] on 2 separate occasions. The amount [redacted] confirmed to me
was $4,020, which is 80% of the down payment, not the contract price.
Also, after speaking with [redacted]
several times about the timing of the check being sent, and receiving a call
from an anonymous caller letting me know I was in trouble, the check is
postdated to 7/23/14, I received the check 7/21/14.
In looking at the agreements you
used to write up the work, the agreement for the deck does not have the same
boiler plate language. Meaning it does not mention 20% for custom made home
improvements. Therefore, as I read the agreement, 100% of the deck down payment
should be returned, or $1700. So, a total of $4,820 should be returned, minus
the $2,565, for a remaining amount of $2,255.
The most important point is that
this morning Wednesday July 23rd, I went to an [redacted] Bank Branch to cash the check, the
teller ([redacted]) and the Branch Manager, both confirmed that the check could not
be cashed as there are insufficient funds. This is most concerning [redacted] . . .
I will be calling [redacted] today to see when the account will be funded so that
the check we have been discussing since June 16th, can be cashed.
Please respond to this email and
let me know if you will be sending the remainder of the down payment and when
the account will be funded, or if you prefer, let me know what time you would
like to discuss over the phone.
 Regards,
James Kindel

Dear Ms. [redacted]:
I am writing in regards to Complaint ID# [redacted]
This complaint from [redacted] is hearsay and should not be recorded.
Several attempts were made to install the bathroom for Ms. [redacted]. The installation of the bathroom...

by New House Worx was delayed several times by Ms [redacted]. Installation was scheduled to start at the end of July, but New House Worx was informed that the other bathroom at the [redacted] residence was being remodeled and both bathrooms could not be out of commission at the same time.
Additional attempts to schedule an installation were made on August 1, 2014, August 11, 2014, and August 14, 2014. Finally, it was agreed that the installation could be started on September 11, 2014.
During the installation process, it was discovered that the shower base was the wrong type and a new one was ordered for her.
We offered several alternative solutions to repair the walls around the tub walls, but Ms. [redacted] wanted us to replace the drywall in the entire bathroom.
To help to rectify any situations with the installation, one of the owners of New House Worx made a visit to the [redacted] residence on 10-10-2014. At that time, Ms. [redacted] accused New House Worx of a “bait and switch” of grab bars and shower heads. It was then explained to Ms. [redacted] that the grab bars she actually received were more expensive and of a higher quality than the ones she saw at the Pittsburgh Home Show.
We will continue to complete the installation process to the contract specifications.
Sincerely,[redacted]
New House Worx

Dear Ms. [redacted]
I am writing in regards to Complaint ID# [redacted]- [redacted]
This situation with [redacted]'s windows should not be filed as a complaint. The windows the customer wanted were not available due to manufacturing issues....

An alternate window and window manufacturer would not meet the specifications outlined in the contract.
A refund check in the amount of $600 with check #[redacted] had been issued to the customer and the check cleared our bank on 09-17-2014,
Included with this correspondence is the bank generated image of the processed check #[redacted] in the amount of $600.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
New House Worx Office Manager

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
While I appreciate Mr. [redacted] offer to follow up with the manufacturer until this is resolved, and I do hope he will do that. I would also like the name and contact phone number for the manufacturer.
My husband, [redacted] and I may not have been contracted customers of Pittsburgh Exteriors, I get that, but the company took over for the clients of [redacted] when they went out of business. The letter from [redacted] (attached previously and again to this response) clearly states that if there is a problem with any of [redacted]'s products to contact Pittsburgh Exteriors and it will be taken care of. Mr. [redacted] should know that he and his company are responsible, since he was the President [redacted] and is now Manager and Principal Contact person of Pittsburgh Exteriors.
As stated before, I just want the window replaced, under warranty, and I want it done ASAP, so we can move along with the sale of our home. It shouldn't be this difficult.
Regards,
[redacted] and [redacted]
