Dear Ms. [redacted]:
I am writing in regards to Complaint ID# [redacted],
This situation with [redacted] should not be filed as a complaint and should not be recorded as it is all hearsay.
The contract in question is dated...

for July 8, 2014, and the customer was told it would take a minimum of 8 to 12 weeks for the installation to begin.
We are issuing a refund of the customer's deposit.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

PE sold me a door with a door slab that was bent.  That is a completely separate issue from the poor installation of the door.  The door manufacturer did come out and replaced only the door slab  - I called them myself and set up the appointments.  I have the times I called and who I talked to at the door company.  The receipt from the door manufacturer states "Replace Door Slab".
What would please me is to fix the water leaking issue - as promised and stand behind your installation and product.  A refund would be needed so I could afford to pay someone who knows how to fix this issue.  I am concerned with PE doing more damage.  They had issues with constructing wooden flower boxes because they thought they were free.  The worker from PE with 30 years experience said the gutter roof would fix the problem, it did not.  My concern is that the gutters, soffit and fascia will need to be removed and reinstalled.   I already paid to have work completed as stated in the original complaint.  This is not saving me any money. - it is costing me more money.
Regards,

RE: ID# [redacted]
Dear Revdex.com:

This complaint is hearsay. This is a false report. This should not be documented.
We have been in communication and have been in progress of repairing a very slight issue on this job.
The complaint should not go on record,
We have been to this home numerous times. We are matching new materials to very old materials, mouldings and textures.
It takes time to get the job perfect and this customer just does not understand the situation.
Sincerely,

I have attached the letter we received from [redacted] when they went out of business. It clearly states that if we have a problem with an [redacted] installed product to call Pittsburgh Exteriors and they will help. So, this is a Pittsburgh Exteriors problem, simply because they have taken over for [redacted]s clients.
I can also provide our warranty, if needed.
Pittsburgh Exteriors may have contacted the manufacturer, but NO ONE from either the manufacturer or Pittsburgh Exteriors has contacted me to let me know of the order or installation. I would like to see correspondence/receipt of the claim that have made that they have contacted the manufacturer regarding the replacement window.
As I mentioned before, I would like my window replaced, under warranty, as promised, and I want it done ASAP. Again, it is UNACCEPTABLE that I have been trying to have the window fixed since October and nothing has been done.
Regards,
[redacted]

2. [redacted] is not a customer of Pittsburgh Exteriors.
I do empathize with consumers who feel as if they are mistreated. For this reason, three years ago, we committed to provide our customers with excellent service and products from reputable manufacturers.
As a professional leader in the home improvement industry, I will personally get the manufacturer to take care of Ms. [redacted]. I will follow-up until the manufacture contacts her. However, I believe we should not receive a negative mark from a consumer that  has never been a contracted customer of Pittsburgh Exteriors.
I again want to thank you for your assistance. If you need any other information or assistance from our company, please call me directly at ###-###-####.
Sincerely,

Dear Ms. [redacted]:
I am writing in regards to Complaint ID# [redacted]-[redacted]
This complaint from [redacted] is hearsay and should not be recorded,
New House Worx had agreed to do a kitchen remodel for [redacted] and the customer...

became impatient and cancelled the contract. A new contract was then written.
Then the customer began trying to get New House Worx to do more work than was in the original contract.
Consequently, we cancelled the contract and refunded the customer their entire deposit. This incident should not go on our record.
Sincerely,

Review: On 10 22 2014 I paid [redacted] a 1000.00 dollar down payment for work to be performed on the exterior of my property. Now I cannot get in touch with him seems the to have closed downDesired Settlement: Would like a full refund of $1000.00 the down payment

Review: The contract was signed on 6.2.2014, to have 2 bathrooms remodeled. We paid the first installment of $4125.00 upon signing the contract, with the next payment due upon the start of the job, and the last payment due upon completion. The company representative ([redacted]) advised tht the work would begin approximately the middle of August. I called the company in mid September and talked to [redacted] (new installation manager). She told me that they had some problems, and that our job was delayed until early October. I called the second week of October and talked to [redacted] again. She advised that our job was next, and it would be started by the end of the month. I called back the first week of November & left a message with the operator, and received no return call. I called again 2 days later & left a message for [redacted], and have received no return call. I've kept calling and can't get anyone to answer the phone. My last call was on November 24, and I have still not received a call back.Desired Settlement: Either have the work begun immediately at 100% satisfaction, or receive our down payment back.

Review: New House Worx replaced roofing in September 2014 and siding in October 2014. Upon completion of the work a leak inside the siding has developed in the porch roof area which leaks inside the siding onto the porch floor. New House Worx is not responding to phone calls after being notified of this issue. No calls have been returned in last two weeks.Desired Settlement: New House WorX needs to honor warranty and fix the leaking area to stop leakage inside the siding.

Review: On April 12, 2013 my husband, [redacted] and I signed an agreement to have our kitchen cabinets refaced. This was presented to us by [redacted]. We paid the required deposit of $1766.00 (check #3230 to Pittsburgh Exteriors)at the time we signed the agreement. On June 17, 2013, [redacted] came to our home and measured our kitchen. At that time, [redacted] said that it would take six weeks for production before installation would occur. We have not received any notice from the company when our kitchen would be refaced and my calls over the last three days have not been returned.Desired Settlement: I would like my kitchen refaced.

Review: On 05-22-2014 we hired New House Worxs to install two (2) basement windows and repair siding on our home. The total cost of work was $1700.00 (est.) $600.00 was given to the salesman via debit card.We were contacted by a representative of New House Worx on 8-1-2014 that installation would be on or about the 18th of August. We were then notified on 8-15-2014 by "[redacted]" that the ordered window could not be completed due to the manufacturer was out of business. The alternate product would not meet the original contract. On 8-26-2014 we contacted [redacted], the new project manager, and came to a mutual agreement of refunding our $600.00 deposit due to their inability to honor the original contract.Since that date we have tried to contact New House Worx in regards to our refund check and have received no satisfaction as of 9-12-2014.Desired Settlement: We seek a refund of $600.00 (down payment) due to a contractual agreement which could not be met buy New House Worx aka Pittsburgh Exteriors and not due to the buyers portion of the agreement.

Dear Ms. [redacted]

I am writing in regards to Complaint ID# [redacted]- [redacted]

This situation with [redacted]'s windows should not be filed as a complaint. The windows the customer wanted were not available due to manufacturing issues. An alternate window and window manufacturer would not meet the specifications outlined in the contract.

A refund check in the amount of $600 with check #[redacted] had been issued to the customer and the check cleared our bank on 09-17-2014,

Included with this correspondence is the bank generated image of the processed check #[redacted] in the amount of $600.

Sincerely,

New House Worx Office Manager

Review: ON July 1, 2014, we paid a hefty deposit ($1,700.00) to this company to have our kitchen cabinets refaced. The salesman (also the owner) promised it would be done in 4-6 weeks. At the end of August, I contacted the company to inquire about oour order. I left several messages which were never returned. Finally, the woman who answers the phone told me we were in line to be the third kitchen in process. After another 3 weeks, I called again, and was told I was still on the list. In the middle of October, the woman who answers the phone, [redacted], admitted the company had not yet ordered my new cabinet doors because their credit was bad and they don't have the money to pay for them. She said they "hoped" to get them in process the first of November to have them done for Thanksgiving. As of Tuesday, no progress, so I asked for a refund of our deposit money, and now its back to no messages being returned.Desired Settlement: If the cabinets were being manufactured at this time, we would be happy to have the work done. However, I doubt they are in process, so we would like a refund of our $1700.00

Review: On July 8, 2014, I contracted with New House Worx for a shower stall remodel in the basement. There was mold found behind the old panels and New House Worx removed the panels and remediated the mold within two weeks. I was told by the two salesmen (at the time of order) that it would take 4-6 weeks for install. After two months of no communication or action, I called for a more definitive timetable and was assured it would be soon. This continued for another month with poor communications regarding the date of install. I was continually placated until my wife spoke with a "new" project manager in the first week of September, who said it would be installed October 1. We were out of the country for 16 days and returned September 28. New House Worx was informed of our absence but I was told that was not communicated. Today, September 30, I was told it would be another month before installation (new estimate for install November 1). I believe that four months to install is unacceptable and the excuses have accumulated to a point where customer service has been severely eroded. New House Worx received $1650 as a deposit and when I called the [redacted] company in late August, my order was still not placed. This can be verified.Desired Settlement: At this juncture, I seek a full refund of the deposit and a cancellation of the contract due to consistent delays by New House Worx that leaves me with no trust in New House Worx to complete the job in a timely manner nor trust in the quality of their work. I believe that four months to install a shower stall only, when there was a "good faith" oral agreement for 4-6 weeks when we signed the contract, to be thoroughly unreasonable and insupportable.

Review: I contracted with New House Worx, then Pittsburgh Exteriors for several home improvements, Deck, bath etcetera. I provided a down payment for material and other items. From day one there was continued miscommunication on ordering colors, for example a deck cost went from $3,400 to $7,200 based on colors I ordered, however when they came to my house to write down the selection, not once did they tell me this would cost more. They called to scheduled work on a Thursday (the deck), Thursday came and past, no shows and no calls. The next week came and went. I followed up to see what the issue was, then was told work would begin on Wednesday, however learned on that Monday, no material was ordered. During the initial estimation meeting with them on May 9th, I specifically asked if they used subcontractors, the owner, sitting at my table, assured me no, that all were employees. I found out later, that a subcontractor was going to do the work on the deck. I spoke to the owner about the deck price increase, and instead of providing an ounce of customer service, stated my wife selected the color on May 9th, as which time I asked why that color was not listed in my agreement, the one I had signed in front of him and provided him a check for over $6,000. Instead apologizing for the mix up, the misunderstanding and trying to fix it, work through it, he blamed the issue on me, and told me of all the times they have let me know, etcetera. When I received a call on the deck concerning the colors, the individual informed me of the new cost. I asked what color was quoted, she proceeded to tell me it is a standard color, I asked what the standard colors where, she could not tell me, but proceeded to inform me that she is in marketing and was asked to call me, but again did not know the standard colors. Later, I received a call from the owner, who seemed a bit upset to have to speak to me.I have since cancelled the contracts, all of them, as the deck miscommunication was not the only issue. On June 16th I spoke to an individual who stated I would be refunded my money less 20%, even though noting had been ordered. I wanted to know if anything was on order to see if I would be out restocking fees, I spelled this out in an email to the owner on June 12. I was told he responded to my email and would call. The email today is unanswered. Back to the refund, I was informed it would be 10 to 15 days for the refund. That would have been July 7th. I called on July 7th, to only be told, yes, I have it on my deck, I will process it sometime this week. Wait, it was to go out today, July 7th, I asked when this week, I was just told this week. I called (left messages) on July 9th and 11th to see if the check was mailed to me, no call back. I called on Monday July 14th, again, left a message and then left a message with the owner. The handling of these contracts is poor at best, miscommunication, promises to start jobs and no shows, and no calls to let me know, due dates for refunds come and go, no one returns phone calls. If this is not breach of contract I do not know what is, and still, they hold my money hostage and cannot adhere to their own words.Desired Settlement: New House Worx needs to do what they say they will do, they need to refund the money asap, no exceptions.

Review: I had my roof replaced by NEw House Worx on October 23, 2014. The installers left two packs on shingles on my property as well the the truck used to hold all of the debris. The truck stayed outside of the house for four weeks. On November 24, 2014 I noticed that a number of shingles had blown off the front side of my roof. I called the company on November 24th, 25th , and 28th, and December 1st and 3rd and left messages each time and also followed up with a email on December 3rd as well and still have not received any response. On the sheet from New House Worx contracting the work to be done it states under service warranty "in addition to any warranties that are extended to you on the material or products used, should the workmanship of the installation or application of said materials or products prove to be faulty within; one (1)year New House Worx, upon notice from you, will cause such faults to be corrected by repairing same at no additional cost to buyer" The sheet directs you to call their service department and that they "strive" to complete all service within 10 days. To date I have had not contact from this company about this issue.Desired Settlement: Due to the inclement winter weather with rain and snow and exposed tar paper I did not want to wait any longer than the 2 weeks I had already waited for a response from this company I had hired someone else to repair the damage at a cost of $221.00 and would like that money refunded to me from New House Worx that I had to pay out since I could not get a response from them.

Review: I contracted with Kevin E[redacted] to reface my kitchen cabinets and install new countertops. I have paid them close to $5,000...$1919.00 at contract signing...$1919.00 at start of project....and paid half of the $1919.00 which was due at completion. I did not pay the other half because at the time the project was not complete. There were issues with the work that needed to be completed when the installer was finished. I contracted with them in April of 2014. The work was started in July of 2014 and to date, has not been completed. Repairs that needed to be made have not been completed. I have various emails to me from Kevin/New House Worx stating that the work will be completed. To date, I have not been able to get any of the promised work completed. Kevin E[redacted] is an unreliable thief who has taken my money and left me with a mess. He has disconnected all of his phone numbers, including his cell phone which I previously used to contact him. Whatever business he tries to start up in the future, people should remember his name and stay as far away from him as possible.Desired Settlement: I would like Kevin to refund me half of what I paid for this job so that I can hire someone to come into my home and fix the mess he made in my kitchen. I paid him in good faith, I live on social security, so this was a large expense for me. I ws excited to be able to get my kitchen updated but I have been left with nothing I desired.

Review: We contracted with [redacted] and his company, Pittsburgh Exteriors one year ago this month. The work included installing a new roof, new soffitt and facia, gutter guards, and chimney cap. The bulk of the work was completed in September of 2012. However, we were unhappy with the finishing trim, and the chimney cap and end caps for the gutters were not never installed. Mr. [redacted] came to the house in late fall after we had called requesting completion and brought the chimney cap with him. He assured us someone would be here to complete the work. No one ever returned. We have called repeatedly requesting that the work with the trim be re-done and the the other work finished. We have had promises that someone would be at our home to take care of these things- the latest assurance being two weeks ago. The chimney cap is in our garage; we finally took it in out of the weather in December when it appeared no one was coming during the winter months. The birds have now built nests in the gutters due to the perfect size openings on the sides because of no end caps being present to prevent this. The trim is not matched and is pieced together poorly in some spots. It is visable from the neighbor's yard. They are not small mistakes. When either my husband or myself have called and requested to speak Mr. [redacted], a message is taken by the office manager, [redacted], and we have never received a return call. We are very frustrated and would just like to have our work completed.Desired Settlement: We would like to have the work completed or be able to have a refund equal to the cost of hiring another company to correct and finish Pittsburgh Exteriors mistakes.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. It is unfortunate that a complaint had to be made before any thing could be resolved, but we are pleased with the results that have been obtained.
