Revdex.com:
At this time, I have not been contacted by New York Van LIne regarding complaint ID [redacted]. I have continuously checked for some type of communication from this company; however, as of today (05/**/14), I have received NOTHING! Once again, this company has not fulfilled their end of the contract. Back in March, they responded to the Revdex.com and to me promising to reimburse my monies within a time frame of 7-30 business days. Had they of followed through on THEIR PROMISE, I would have been paid since the ** of April. Obviously, I would NOT be responding to this notice had that of occurred.
All I have ever wanted is my $600.00.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Review: On July **, 2014 this moving company packed our furniture and other miscellaneous items on their truck and promise us a delivery date no later than the [redacted] of July 2014. As of today's date we have NOT received our belongings. We have called them numerous times and were given excuses that the truck broke down, needed repairs and inspections. A representative by the name of [redacted] called us 8/**/1 4and stated that the truck should be ready in 2 or 3 days and she promised us that if there are any changes she will notify us. My wife and I have called constantly (everyday) with either no answer or we will call you back. On today's date I called [redacted] 2 times and she stated "I have to finish this paperwork, I promise I will call you back at 3:00 pm. At 5:50 p.m. I called her back and asked her "where is my belongings and she boldly replied " I am busy, I must finish this paperwork, I will call you back. I am unable to work because all of my credentials were securely packed and loaded on that truck. It is very frustrating not knowing where and when our belongings and personal items will arrive. We are presently sleeping on a air bed which is very uncomfortable and we have no other furniture and had to go buy extra clothing, utensils, linens and other items.Desired Settlement: DELIVERY OF OUR BELONGINGS, BILLING ADJUSTMENT AND AN APOLOGY FOR UNSATISFACTORY SERVICE

Review: On July the [redacted] New york van lines were supposed to move us from delaware to virginia. I had spoken with angle at ny van lines multiple times really expressing my desire to have a smooth move. She asked me what time I would like and I said in the morning. She said they would come at between 8 - 10 am. We had done everything on our part to make this move smooth by packing up all items in boxes and transporting them to VA ahead of time , leaving only furniture for the movers. The day of the move, we arrived at the location at 7 am from her parents house since we had nothing there and there was no AC. We waited till 9 50 AM with no sign of the movers or a call. So I called the number I had on file where I was told that the truck was en routel and would be there between 10 - 12pm. After that I received a call from the driver of the truck at around 11:30 am saying they had just left and would not be there till around 2 pm. Which means the original person I called and spoke to , straight up lied to me , saying that the truck was en route.Through all this the temperature in the unit had gone up to 90degrees. I probably called [redacted], who had told me, if I needed anything at all to not hesitate to call her, only to have no response and get her voice mail on numerous occasions that day. I then got a call at 2 pm saying they were still on their way and would be there by 4 pm. which at this point was 7 hrs later than the initial scheduled move. The finally arrived at 4 15 pm in a truck that said budget truck. I was under the impression NY van lines always had their logo on the truck which leads me to believe they sub contracted the move. At the en of it all we finally got done with the move at 10 30 pm and paid almost 300$ more that the original estimate quote. I cannot begin to tell you the stress it put on us and what a aggravating day it was, having done everything on our end to make the move smooth, and also the inability of angle to return what must have been 3 vm and 5 calls I placed to her during the course of the day. It has now been almost a week and she has not even bothered to call and acknowledge or apologize for the unpreofessionality and imcompentency or her and her companies part.Desired Settlement: refund atleast a portion of my money for wasting my time.

Review: I contracted NewYork Van Lines (Movers) to move my belongings from one residence to a new residence on August [redacted], 2013.

I could not find several pieces of my belongings, after the move. I have contacted the office and they claim some of the furniture missing is in their office. I am yet to recieve any answer as to when they will drop off the furniture. They have no answer for me as to what happened to the missing boxes.

Furthermore, they damaged several pieces of furniture during the move, including some very valuable items. The movers took pictures of the damage, when it ocurred but, I never heard from the company after that, as to how I would be compensated.

The job no. is [redacted] and the move ocurred on 08/**/2013.Desired Settlement: I will like to have all the missing pieces of furniture, including a 32 inch TV, a Paper shredder, 2 boxes of brand new Vince Camuto Shoes returned to me or replaced.

I will also like to have the broken or damaged furniture replaced or cleaned. This includes two stained sofas and a broken dining chair.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The fact remains that, in the paper copy given to me, I did not sign the box that pertained to replacing value of damaged goods at 0.30 cents/ lb.

The copy you have sent below, is the general agreement on using the company, when I first made the call. The agreement sent to me, which I signed, was a five page agreement different from the one, they have sent below. Within these five pages, were hidden clauses and small print, about insurance and many other issues, the company do not want to highlight, so customers sign and they get hired.

On the day of the move, when they arrived in my home, they gave me a paper copy, which I emailed to you. That is when they should have explained that, I have to sign the box agreeing, to be covered at 0.30 cents/ lb for damaged goods. They wanted the business, so they ignored the fact that I refused to sign the box.

They have due to gross negligence on the part of the packers, damaged a lot of my property. Now they are avoiding taking responsibility for the real cost of the damage.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Review: To ensure the protection of others, I'm obligated to share my experience with New York Van Lines located at [redacted]. . I contacted NY Van Lines Inc for my move from [redacted] to [redacted].

I contacted the company a month in advance from my lease end date, September *, 2014. [redacted] , ([redacted], ###-###-####) was my allocated sales representative at the time. Weeks prior to my move out date, we went over inventory, pricing, policies. To finalize the deal, I was sent confirmation and obligated to pay a security deposit of $100 to secure my booking with NY Van Lines on 8/**/14 from 12-4pm.

Due to my apartment policies, it's very important moves are scheduled, confirmed, and followed through on the confirmed move-out date due to heavy trafficking with September * move in's and move out's. This was explained numerously to [redacted] - he confirmed and assured me that no matter what they would be there. Additionally, my apartment complex allots specific times and days for your move with a non refundable $300 fee and a $250 refundable fee. I paid $550 for my scheduled move out on 8/**/14, between 1-3pm to my apartment complex.

At 5pm on 8/**/14, the "dispatcher" for NY Van Lines, [redacted], ([redacted], ###-###-####) contacted me 10 times within approximately 8-10 minutes. She ordered me to reschedule my move-out date to next week. However, this is against their policy procedures (according to the [redacted]) and they knew the tight position I was in; there was no feasible or logistical way this could work with my apartment association policies.

[redacted] confirms the move for tomorrow is still scheduled. I also spoke with [redacted] for ease of mind who also assured me they would be there and not to worry about [redacted]'s call to cancel your move with 12 hours notice. On 8/**, from 12-3pm - no one shows. I called [redacted] numerously from 12-2pm to no avail. He responded at 2:30pm saying he is getting touch with dispatch. At 3pm [redacted] calls me back to tell me the moving truck broke down and they will not longer be able to make it.

[redacted] This was all planned and schemed. I pressed record on my phone, confronted [redacted] and asked why their company would do this to someone and her response was, "Well I told you yesterday, and plus gave you the option to chose another day." I lost a total of $600 for the move and had to throw out an estimated $1500 worth of clothing and inventory. It should be mandatory for fraudulent companies whom harm consumers to have their business shut down.

We have already contacted small claims, so if the company doesn't come to a desired outcome to compensate for my total loss in deposits, move-out fees, and damage and loss to my inventory and goods - we will finalize this in court.Desired Settlement: Refund for nonrefundable move out fee of $300

Refund for movers move fee of $250

Refund for security deposit to NY Van Lines of $100 which was never refunded

Refund for total loss and damage of goods and inventory $1000

Total refund $1650

the company has not responded to my inquiry. I should be compensated considering I had to pay a deposit fee, and move out fee twice which only should have been once.

Response:

If the mover promises you a pickup on a particular time or date or within a given period of days, it is required by the Department's regulations to exercise reasonable diligence in attempting to provide such pickup on that date or within the promised period. In most cases, in the event of loss or damage, you will not be entitled to a payment that comes near the value of your household goods unless you declare the actual cash value of your goods on the bill of lading or purchase 'full replacement value protection' for your goods.

Review: In May 2013, I contracted New York Van Line out of Brooklyn, NY to move my daughter's personal items to the Rio Grande Valley. Not only did they not meet their obligations within the time frame they promised, they lost and delivered damaged items. With that said, I contacted them and they suggested I file a claim form. I have done so and have yet to receive any monies owed to me which is approximately $600.00. I contact them on a continuous basis and have been lied to repeatedly. I simply want what is owed to me Please assist.Desired Settlement: To receive any monies owed to me which is approximately $600.00. Regarding the concerns of [redacted], our office humbly apologize for any inconvenience in this matter. Our office is still in agreement to pay out [redacted] the agreed amount we had discussed, however our office explained to [redacted] that the nature of her move which was delayed as a result of the address being close to the [redacted] border where most moving companies do not generally service was also a first encounter for us

The [redacted] of the company has been away on vacation ( international) and we were making attempts to get into contact with him to approve discuss matter and get approval on the amount to be able to send out to her. We understand the delay on our end can be a bit disheartening however our office HAS EVERY INTENTION ON MAKING PAYMENT WE WILL NOT NEGLECT AGREEMENT MADE.

Again we apologize for the delay, however our entire office is aware of the situation and we will have a resolution to matter within 30 days business days counting from March [redacted]2014.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

While I thoroughly appreciate the Revdex.com's prompt action concerning this very important matter, I will NOT be completely satisfied until the monies owed to me by New York Van Line are returned to me. First and foremost, the sales representative, named [redacted], never informed me that our location (close to the [redacted] border) would ever prove to be a factor in transporting my daughter's personal items when she convinced us to take this company's services into consideration. Secondly, not only did time prove to be a factor (exactly 3 months) in bringing my daughter's items home; but, when she finally did receive them, there were [redacted]ing items, as well as, damaged items.

I have done my part by filing the necessary documents to the claim department; but, when I am told by [redacted] things such as: 1) "It takes time to reimburse your monies;" 2) "The [redacted] has to sign your check; so, it will take a little bit longer than expected;" 3) "Good News, your check was mailed out this morning; you should receive by the end of the week;" 4) "There was an error on your check so, our company had to go retrieve it from the New York post office;" 5) "Mam, you just have to be patient; and you will get your monies when you get them." And if that was not enough, [redacted], [redacted] told me this past Monday (3/**/14): "I will personally send your check overnight." Yet, here we are Thursday, (3/**/14) and I am no closer to getting my monies than I was when I started this horrific process. Once again, I appreciate the Revdex.com's prompt response to my concern; but, forgive me if I DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT NEW YORK VAN LINE IS PROMISING NOW! They claimed they have send my check, retrieved it do to an error, will overnight it; and now, I still have to wait another 30 business days because the [redacted] is out of the country. This is JUST ANOTHER LIE ON THEIR PART. I hope that going public, through the Revdex.com's assistance, will finally prompt this company to return what is mine. Trust me, I want to put an end to the horrible ordeal and resolve this matter IMMEDIATELY! I have waited 10 months; to expect me to wait ANOTHER 30 BUSINESS DAYS IS UNFAIR AND UNACCEPTABLE! Please Revdex.com DO NOT LET UP ON THIS MATTER. Without your help, I will never get my monies because now NEW YORK VAN LINE is not even accepting my calls, will not return my messages and are even hanging up on me. Once again, I simply want to resolve this matter once and for all and have this company return what is mine.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Review: Furniture was picked up on August [redacted] with promised delivery in two weeks time. Broken promises after broken promises stil no delivery and now they refuse to take our callsDesired Settlement: Delivery of our belongings and a significant discount for our inconvenience for living without any of our things for two months.

Review: I hired this company to move one room of furniture and several boxes from Connecticut to Texas. I did so after speaking with them and getting agreeing on a delivery date. The delivery date came and went with nothing being delivered. Half of my items were delivered 53 days after the agreed upon date. Every time I called to see where and when my shipment would be delivered I was told that when they were in Texas I would be notified. There was no urgency on the part of this company to get me my items. I was also reminded several times that under the contract they were not "late" until 30 business days had passed. Again, no remorse on their part. I did receive a partial shipment 23 days after the agreed upon date. The balance due was $500 more than the agreed upon price. It was not until I questioned this that I was compensated $20 per day for it being late. I still have not received the rest of the shipment nor have I heard from the company as to when it will be getting here.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of all monies that have been paid up to this point. I would also expect that the rest of my shipment is sent to me in a timely manner.

At this time this resolution of full payment to be reimbursed is denied by our office. Review: This was one of the worst experiences of my life. This moving company knew about my move six weeks in advance. They did not call me or show up on the date promised(7/**/2014). They showed up two and one half hours late the next day(7/**/2014). They scratched my hardwood floors in about eight different places. The floor is brand new, and needs to be replaced, as I am trying to sell my house. They were so late, and understaffed, I did a lot of the moving myself with them! They delivered my daughter's bedroom set three days later than promised, and could not find the assembly screws, and left me with her furniture damaged, and not assembled. I had to go out and purchase a drill, and screws, last minute in order to assemble my daughter's bedroom set. The company lied to me so many times, and hung the phone up on my credit card company, and my wife. I have damages to my back, my floors, my furniture that I am seeking replacement funds.Desired Settlement: Refund for services not rendered, and cost of damages.

Sincerely,

Review: New york van lines gave an original quote of 1320.00 to move my belongings from a two bedroom apt. from New Jersey to Atlanta, and that the 13200.00 would account for 400 cubic ft. of space on their truck. Their reps picked-up my belongings on July [redacted] 2014. They increased my quote to 1560$,as they said my package is more than 400 cubic feet and I paid 860$ (cash) as they took half payment/tips labor and was told that they would be delivered on July [redacted] 2014 (which is why I hired them in the first place). Since July [redacted] I have spoken with reps named [redacted] and most recently [redacted]. All of whom have been defensive, evasive, rude, passed racial comments(my little kid is crying because of them,as all his toys and cloths are with them) and abusive over the phone and keep giving me different reasons/excuses as to why my belongings haven't been delivered yet. On Friday. Aug [redacted] 2014 I was promised by [redacted] that my belongings would be leaving New York on Tusaday Aug [redacted] 2014. Now it is Thursday Aug. [redacted] 2014 and I was just told by [redacted] (very rudely) that my stuff is still in New York and probably won't be leaving New York until on or shortly after Aug [redacted] 2014.Desired Settlement: We are staying in hotel from last 1 month and I want my package to be delivered by this weekend. My 1.5 year old baby is depressed and sick and my wife and I have no cloths/shoes to wear to work. Our apartment is empty and we are paying rent for no use.

Review: First I understand that it has been a little over a year since I moved but life has gotten in the way. The moving company is not honest. The customer service rep I communicated with (of which I have all the emails and contract) was very nice. However, the movers and the company on a whole are bad. The movers called to tell me they would be at my residence between 9am-noon. They didn't show up until 6pm. After they were finished packing and loading the truck they man proceeded to request money for food and gave me this story that the company does not give them a food allowance, so I tipped him $60.00 (yes, probably too much) but they did a really good job of covering furniture and packing. I asked him how long it would take for me to receive my things in California and he said that he was driving to Atlanta where they change drivers and another crew would then bring my furniture on to California so that it should arrive between 10-14 days. When my furniture didn't arrive I contacted the customer service rep I had dealt with when I initially took out the contract and she said that my things were being loaded and that I should get my stuff in about 10 days. I asked her what do you mean loaded? They had taken all my things back to New York and unloaded and then reloaded all my stuff to be moved. The truck arrived on like the 29th day since they have only 30 days to get someone their things. Several of my pieces of furniture were damaged/scratched etc. As if moving isn't a stressful enough situation in someone's life but we look for people who we think are going to do good by us and instead they don't do what they say. I would never recommend them.Desired Settlement: Although a refund or partial refund would be nice. I mainly just want to report them as a bad business.

Review: I moved from NY to Florida in August. Upon delivery, two items were missing, a dresser and a nightstand. Driver called warehouse manager from my home and was told the items were located in warehouse in Brooklyn. Driver also wrote on my contract that the items would be delivered to me in Florida. After 3-months and several phone calls and emails, the company will no longer even respond to me regarding when my items will be delivered. Initially, I was told the items were lost and I had to file a claim. After pushing that I initially was told the items were found on my delivery day the company stated that only the dresser was found. At this point I asked them to please only correspond in writing so I could have a record of our conversations and to give me a delivery date ASAP for my 2 items. Still have not received any response from this companyDesired Settlement: I only want my dresser and nightstand

Review: New York Van Lines, was support to move our things from Miami to New Jersey June **, 2013, but they had so many issues with their vans, the things was moved June **, 2013. Things was moved without us being told that the price was now tripled until the van was almost in New Jersey. I called NY Van multiple times asking for the charge and no one in the office keen the answer. When they told us the price, due to us not having enough money, ny vans put our things in their storage until July **, 2013. I reported that we had missing and lots of damaged items. They told us to file a claim with [redacted]. We did this August **,2013 and got a response back saying they can give us $210. What was damaged:

1) 2 glass China's ( all the glass shelves were broken)

2) Deep freeze (large dents on sides

3) cooking stove (lots of dents, stove top completely damaged, knobs broken)

4) rice dispenser damaged (top missing)

5) 3 large very expensive pictures ( glass frames broken)

6) dinning Rome table (broken, legs can not be attached).

All these things was package and rapped by ny vans. They claimed to had bought more rapping items from [redacted] , but all I saw was ny vans wrappings.Desired Settlement: Pay fairly for items that they damaged. $210 is not acceptable.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: The company offered to settle with $210, which will not even pay for ANY of the items that was damaged, lost or stolen. Very unreasonable offer from New York Vans Lines.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Review: I made the HORRIBLE decision to choose New York Van Lines as my movers for my long distance move. We requested that they arrive on the [redacted] of November and that our stuff arrive on the [redacted] and was assured both would happen. Unfortunately, none of the above has happened. First, the movers were late, very late. They arrived [redacted] around [redacted] BUT they said they'd sleep in their beds of their truck and load in the morning. It took them several hours to load, due to two of the men saying they were too cold and they just sat in the truck. The men took several smoke breaks, and drank our sodas, requested lunch from us, and also smoked my mother's cigs. They also said that we now owe them 600 dollars MORE than quoted, so we would need to pay that. Because they were so late, it made US late with our own plans and we had to drive in a snow storm etc etc. The men asked for a tip, however two of them did not work much. We did not get our belongings by the date we were told, and whenever we call, our calls are now ignored, and the staff are EXTREMELY rude, and will not give ANY details WHATSOEVER as to when we will get our stuff. We are very unhappy with our experience, and will never use New York Van Lines Again, and will spread the word of their horrible service. However, for the time being, we suspect that our stuff is not in good hands, as our sodas were consumed and the cigs were smoked etc. We suspect that there is more going on that meets the eye. We have no information as to when/where our stuff is.Desired Settlement: We DESERVE money returned after the horrible experience, but at this point just want our stuff NOT damaged and NOT tampered with. This company needs to be investigated THOROUGHLY!!!!! Is this a legit agency? or a criminal based movers looking for consumers items to go through to later sell? No information seems very suspicious!!!!

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID[redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

Review: Called Company on 07/**/2014 and requested service. We were told we would have our shipment delivered to Georgia on 07/**/2014. As of today 07/**/2014 we do not have our stuff.

Filed complaint with company their email on 07/**/2014 after 2 customer service reps was extremely rude with us over the phone when we called to enquire about our shipment, providing no help whatsoever. while on these calls back and forth with them we were hung up on three times. They promised to call us a few times but never did. We as the clients are always having to initiate the calls to them. Our mother is the person who moved from New York to Georgia. She is now sleeping on the floor because she has no bed to sleep on. Our mother is ** years old and suffers from back and knee problems. Trying to talk or discuss anything with these people is of no use because all they do is hang up the phones on you. No one will give a straight answer. We are always told there are no [redacted]s onsite at the moment. We think that our stuff is being held in storage and purposely not being placed on a truck to come to Georgia because we complained on the two reps we spoke to on many occasions. How long does our mother have to keep sleeping on the floor? Now we are being told thet it will be another 30 days before we get our stuff. Nothing like this was ever explained to us upfront. If it was we definitely would have found another company to use. WE WERE TOLD THAT OUR SHIPMENT WILL BE DELIVERED ON MONDAY JULY [redacted], 2014> THSI IS WHY WE HIRED THIS COMPANY BECAUSE WE WANTED OUR STUFF AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. We have been played, once the credit card for the deposit was given to them, they had us hanging by the neck so to speak. Now we are having to be at their mercy because in reading some of these complains here we are worried we may not even get our stuff.Desired Settlement: For what they are putting us through- especially our Mother this is what should happen. They should not get paid, not for this kind of service. WE ALSO WANT OUR THINGS DELIVERED IMMEDIATELY>>>>>>> This company needs to be put out of business/ shut down.

Response:

I made a call of apology to [redacted] on Monday 8/* re: the delay of their delivery

As a courtesy to the family and the delay of delivery they are experiencing, a new full size Air bed was bought and sent out by priority mail to them on 8/*, tracking # [redacted]

As it was mentioned in the complaint that their ** yrs old mother is sleeping on the floor, all this was done.

With the [redacted]"s agreement, they were also informed that the delivery will be done before the end of the month.

We will continue to follow up with the family, making sure their things are delivered.

Thank You

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[[redacted] did call us (although my husband's name is [redacted], not M/M [redacted]). In our opinion she was too apologetic to our case. She did offer to send overnight a blowup bed for our mother who has back and knee poroblems. We are in the process of making an appointment for her to take her to the doctor as she is now complaining with more pain than usual. WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE BLOW UP BED AS OF NOW>.

In looking back at the conversation with [redacted], we still do not believe that New York Van Lines is being professional in this case to wards us. [redacted] herself has not provided any ease of mind to us that we are going to receive our belongings sooner - which is what should happen here. We believe she is still not being truthful and is giving too many various excuses. We were told right before we spoke to [redacted] that the truck bringing our stuff was broken down and it would take a few days to fix and then we will get our things. Then [redacted] calls and says that a shipment like this usually does take up to 30 days. We were told upfront it would take 3 days, if picked up on a Thursday. If picked up on Friday then 2 weeks, when we objected to that, the rep put us on hold and came back saying the Dispatcher says its Ok we will have the stuff sooner, by the Monday of the next week.

[redacted] then says to me- that because the stuff we have is not a whole household full, is the reason it is taking this long to get here. I then said " so you are waiting on another customer to full the truck first before you bring my stuff?" She then says "No, No thats not what I am saying" Well, thats exactly what it sounds like to me. I can read between lines. I then replied to her that I think she is still not truthful to me, to which she answers, " I am a ** year old woman, I have no reason to lie to you, I am not being paid commission or anything for this". Well in my opinion a person does not need to get so personal with their clients if they are working for a company. You do not come on the phone with a client to give excuses for yourself personally, but rather defend the mistakes made by the employees of that company and then turn around and resolve it right away in a professional manner according to the company's guides, regulations, and rules. if this is how the company wants their employees behaving then something is terribly wrong here. I told [redacted] on this phone call that sending me a blowup bed is not enough restitution for us, she says thats is all she can offer me and she has to speak to the owner of the company for anything more. I asked her to do that. I have not heard a word on that part as of yet. I also asked her if she still had my Credit Card on file, and she said NO, they did not. If any charges is put on my card going forward, I will be disputing it.So to sum it all up no resolution has been made. Like I said in my first complaint to the Revdex.com. ALL WE ARE ASKING IS TO HAVE OUR BELONGINGS DELIVERED NOW>WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS KIND OF SERVICE>>AND THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO GO OUT OF BUSINESS, especially if this kind of behaviour continues. I still cannot understand how a [redacted] or OWNER is never available. And if that is the case then at some point one of them should have been in contact with us by now if they cared at all.

Re: pictures of damaged items was received in New York Van Lines office today

As per the email sent yesterday, New York Van Lines , will not be covering

Damages to the customer driveway , looking over the pictures those are old cracks and more over

That is between the customer and their home owners insurance, the drive way pictures should be sent to their Home Owners insurance office whoever their carrier is , and not to New York Van Lines.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[redacted] we knew you would want to deny us the driveway claim. However,we do have two witnesses to what took place causing this damage and I can produce the people we purchased the home from back in June to say that that damage was not there when we purchased the home.Your delivery driver decided to turn around in the driveway instead of going down to the culdesac to make the turn causing the old broken down truck to get stuck on the incline of our driveway.

Let me reiterate for you [redacted], the driver of your old broken down truck that came from all the way in New York to our house in Georgia, decided to turn around in our driveway instead of the culdesac and the ball at the back of the truck got stuck on the incline of our driveway and because he was going back and forth trying to get out from being stuck it CAUSED THIS DAMAGE TO OUR DRIVEWAY> So please do not sit there and make judgements as to this damage being old. IT HAPPENED ON THE NIGHT OF AUGUST [redacted] AROUND 11PM. WE had to run outside when we saw what he was doing and stop him otherwise our mailbox and the neighbor's mailbox across the street from us would have had to be a part of this claim also. [redacted] we appreciate your being fair and reasonable to our claim in this matter and we do not appreciate you jumping to conclusions and being judgemental. OK

We are in the process of collecting all the documentations required for this claim and will send it all in as soon as possible. We were under the impression this was done when we sent you the pictures in an email. You should have given us these forms that you now want us to complete much earlier than now and it would have been done already. We hope you are not playing games [redacted].

Review: I moved from Little Neck, NY to Valrico, FL on Feb. ** and contracted with the listed company to move my possessions. Their website shows your logo, insinuating your approval. The sales person lied about several issues: 1)their having their own dedicated moving trucks, which are misleadingly depicted on their website, and my possessions were picked up and delivered by "contractors" driving Ryder trucks. 2)I was told my shipment would leave on 2/** but it did not depart NY until 3/*. 3)My emails/calls weren't returned until [redacted]. I did not find out where my possession were until 3/* & after I flew back to NY to get the info directly. I found their office to be an apartment in a residential building. 4)I paid for the boxing/crating of several guitars which was never done & several cases were damaged. 5)the contractor that delivered to FL would not accept the certified bank check they said would be acceptable & I had to return it for cash payment at the last minute to avoid a $600 fee.I relied on a friend who had 30+ years in the freight business to select my mover and NYVL gave all the "right" answers to get the job but completely disregarded any of their obligations or the anguish I was experiencing. A further check on [redacted] only added to my anguish. I will also file complaints with the Interstate Commerce Commission and Dept. of Consumer Affairs to hopefully prevent any other people from dealing with this unscrupulous organization.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund on the services they didn't provide and the cost of the airfare I spent to fly back to NY to investigate the whereabouts of my possessions and, most importantly, I'd like them to be investigated for misrepresentation of their services and unfair business practices.

Review: I hired New York van lines to do my move from Johnson city New York to Panama City Florida, after a bumpy start pricing that changed depending on which rep you spoke with initially I requested a move of a 3 bedroom household was quoted a price of $ 2300 with a rough estm of what I was having moved. When I filled in the itemized items and made a change to 2 bedroom household since my daughter essentially coming my price still went up to over $3500 which I questioned at that time since this probably wasn't thir first run in moving people why not more accurate estimates. As the movers were moving my stuff they guys kept commenting on my tempur pedicure mattress how nice n expensive they are making me a bit nervousness the guy loading the truck dropped a couple of my boxes but just continued loading, when the movers showed up suddenly after everything was packed the price had jumped to $5500 the moving guy explanation based on square footage takin up in truck I told him I understand but truck was loaded poorly since I was closing on house living in next day I against better judgement paid but before paying I had feed the movers pizza n soda n water a good expense moving guy now started talking about tax bein charged but that office would not know what he charged if I made up on other end fr Thm I was confused my son said the guy wanted the diff in cash I was not going to pay him because soooo shady but my son warned me they might break or loose my stuff so I paid the movers cash diff fr taxes as a forced tip not a good start. I had New York van lines store my stuff because would not arrive at new location right away. When I was ready fr delivery there was a long wait fr delivery n was told initially they would see when they could deliver in my area later I found out the sub contract n have to wait on loads or acceptance from sub contractors to make the runs. So sleeping on air mattresses etc fr 3 weeks not fun. The movers finally shows up but guess what on small 12 foot truck and mine was not only load on truck I knew I had been severely cheated at this point on square footage charge . They started to bring items in and I noticed my boxes had been re taped I figured a few might hv been coming off so they re taped but as boxes came in it was almost every box I had used brown tape they were re taped with clear this was concerning to me. As the truck came to an end for my stuff I was not delivered my expensive tempur pedic mattress my hand truck my hangers 2 large boxes with curtains n bedding n towels also I was left with a broken printer scanner broken huge clay pot and after checking my boxes inreallized I also had been robbed of all the jewelry I had packed in unmarked box. I called [redacted] at the corp office she said maybe my [redacted] was just misplaced I expln to her my [redacted] I had packed in professional [redacted] bag with my name clear in black marker also told her of the jewelry missing and other items. I was playing constant ph tag with [redacted] and was finally told after a month she told me her boss the because of my patience the company would not mk me go thru insurance for mattress they would replace also she had recorded the hand truck n hangers. I faxed her my receipt fr my mattress n what the comparable mattress would be now. Nothing was happening I kept getting the brush off from [redacted] when I called I at this point was forced in going out n buying a new mattress a woman in her forties cannot sleep on air [redacted] fr months. When I finally got [redacted] in phone again she at this point recanted their decision to pay me for my mattress and they wanted me to go thru their insurance company that wld pay me 66 cents or pound. I was very upset at this point . I had a loss of!aprx $20000 in jewelry my tempur [redacted] fax scanner hand truck hangers never delivered or attempted and 2 missing boxes of bedding towels curtains. To this date no attempt ton deliver recovered items eitherDesired Settlement: I want the company to pay me for the full cost of replacing my tempur pedic mattress which was obviously stolen while in their procession a promised they already n had committed to, I want if not lost by now my hand truck and hangers otherwise full replacement cost as [redacted] had already told me it was recovered. New York Van lines have not issued anything as what or what not to pack I would never have packed my jewelry if they had told me or provided me with a packing guide. I was severely overcharged for the move n space in truck I want a refund of price diff I paid versus what was quoted for a 3 bedroom $2200 quote. And I will try and go thou my insurance for the jewelry stolen while in their procession .I will agree to do insurance claim for 2 boxes missing fax scanner n clay pot.
