My husband and I were moving from Boston to Florida and we were contacted by Ocean Moving and Storage. The first quote the salesman gave us was really low ($1,800), and
he was very convincing that his company would beat anyone else's prices. About a month later, I gave him my furniture list along with how many boxes we packed (125) and
asked for another quote. He doubled the quote to $3,600 and told me not to worry. I didn't want to shop around any more for another company, so I signed the contract. When it came moving day, after seeing the furniture and boxes, the head mover told me that it was going to exceed the quote. Never in a million years would I have expected that quote to double again. In the end, we were hit with a total bill of $6,500. That is a long way from the $1,800 original quote. I believe the salesman purposely throws in a low number to bait you and after you sign up, they know then that you can't back down.
Another issue here was the date of our furniture arrival. I was told that the furniture would arrive either on the date expected or one or two days later. He told me they had trucks going out every day so it wouldn't be a problem. Guess what, they were ONE WEEK overdue, costing us extra money to stay in a hotel, along with meals. This was one of the most expensive moves we have made. I will NEVER use this company again, nor will any of my friends or family.
Word of caution, don't believe everything they tell you. Get other quotes from other companies and read their reviews. I will do more research the next time we move.
Seriously as good a moving experience as you can get. Friendly/helpful before the move, the movers showed up on time, were REALLY quick, friendly, and handled everything with care. Highly recommended!
These guys are awesome! I have used them to move twice, and I would hire them again in a heartbeat and recommend them to anyone, no matter how tricky the move!
Exceptional service. Very honest and reasonable price. Asked them to move a piano, they gave me a flat rate, best rate among other companies. They were very professional and friendly. They showed on time and quickly got it packed and moved. Definitely use them again.
Ocean moving & storage and their team were awesome. They had me moved out of my old home and into my new home in no time at all. The movers were really professional, efficient, and friendly. They have asked me where I wanted particular items and then even asked if I wanted anything moved around within each of the rooms. I even had some items in my car that I needed to bring in to the house and they offered to help. I highly recommend them for a quick, no hassle moving experience. Their office manager was quick to respond to my emails and phone calls and was very professional with personal attention. I had a great experience with these guys.
The manager at Ocean moving & storage was awesome with the reservation process and all the planning details and noted all my requests. He was prompt and helpful getting back to me with questions. The movers honored my time request and were there on time. The movers were efficient and friendly and more than helpful! They made a painful thing like moving a breeze! Would definitely recommend and will use again in the future.
These guys are awesome. Showed up on time, worked extremely hard and smart, treated our belongings with care and very respectful. I called several local movers and their prices couldn't compare with Ocean Moving & Storage. I would highly recommend!!!!!!!
Moving is always a stressful time but these guys made my day. They showed up on time. They were professional and courteous and finished the move in two hours - from arrival and move out to move in and departure. Highly recommended.
The entire experience with these guys was phenomenal. They were organized with the paperwork and dropping off boxes for me to pack, they had timely reminders, and they asked me all the appropriate questions and gave me all the appropriate information I needed for the move to go smoothly.
Definitely would recommend them.
