Betterness Bureau: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below [Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.] Regards, [redacted] I do have the three welcome letter that was I sent to meIf the letter had stated the almost hundred dollar "tax" was going to be added to it, it would have raised a concernWhen I went to purchase my furniture I was given a final priceI bought bedroom funiture about a month before I Financed my dining room and kitchen setWhen they give you a price total thats your final priceIf I had swpied my credit card I would have paid the not almost Why would my price change if its days same as cashI paid off my entire balance so this company couldnt rob me againThats like if I bought a car though my bank and they taxed me on it talking about they bought the car for me and now we are selling it to youThey contaced the store to find out they taxed me but if they had said yes they would owe money to okinusFirst off we are talking about a small furniture shop that does everything with a calculatorOkinus was wrong for this charge and for not clearly stating the tax and tax amountIt was a way for them to make money off of meBy the way it didnt raise my concern because when I went over the letter it said somewhere on there applicable taxesThat could have meant the taxes from the store because after that it did not give me a new sum it gave me my same quoted price no additional feesAbsolutley terribleI see why they have over complaintsI could see if I was making this up because I couldnt pay within my day window but my bill is paid off not owing them a dime!

In response to Mr [redacted] and referencing USPS Certified Letter # [redacted] The Equifax report has been correctly updated (a copy was attached to initial dispute)The letter that was attached to initial dispute can be emailed/mailed if Mr [redacted] still requestsIn reference to $loss Okinus has not received any documentation from Mr [redacted] as to an amount of loss nor a responsible party If as Mr [redacted] contends that Okinus is responsible, Mr [redacted] is urged to send over documentation so that it can be reviewed Okinus has attached again the updated Equifax report showing no late payments and up to dateThe updated Equifax report shows a high credit of $and a balance of $ Mr [redacted] should not be penalized for an error made by Okinus, if you have any questions please feel free to contact [redacted] Senior Manager

Timeline for Ms [redacted] account: 6/28/14-Ms [redacted] contacted Okinus on and stated that had received merchandise and that she did not sign anything stating had received everything, requested to speak to a member of management, spoke to a member of management and stated that wanted to return because could not afford itCall was escalated to PICKUP Department agreement was made with customer to pay account off within days SAC (Same As Cash)Next payment was scheduled for 7/28/ 8/23/10- Ms [redacted] contacted Okinus to find out the date the account would be drafted was informed due date was 25th of month asked to change due date due to changing jobs wanted the due date changed to the 27th; the due date was changed 10/22/2010- Ms [redacted] contacted Okinus to pay Octobers payment on 10/29/2010, the payment date was changed to 10/29/ 11/15/2010- Ms [redacted] contacted Okinus to see if headboard was new or used (1st time Okinus was notified)Ms [redacted] said that husband moved bed and noticed rips on it Ms [redacted] was instructed to contact store for clarification 11/27/2010- Ms [redacted] contacted Okinus to return the headboard for the bed she does not want it any more 11/29/10- Ms [redacted] contacted Okinus and stated that wanted to keep mattress and box spring onlyManagement approved to keep the mattress and box spring and to return other merchandiseMs [redacted] was informed of this and was told that the amount would be figured and her contacted back 12/2/10- Ms [redacted] contacted Okinus and was misinformed of payoff, the call was transferred to [redacted] (Manager) in PICKUP Department 12/2/10- Spoke to [redacted] in PICKUP was upset that payoff was $, was approved to settle on mattress and box spring for $however must be paid all at once 12/2/10-Ms [redacted] was called about 11/27/payment that was STOPPED at her bank, said that would need to talk to [redacted] in PICKUP, account was forwarded to *** Okinus tried contacting Ms [redacted] via email and phone leaving messages for the balance of 2010, 2011, and Okinus finally received an email from Ms [redacted] 10/22/2014, the emails that were attached to initial complaint Ms [redacted] never stated that did not sign the contract or that was forgedOkinus will still extend the offer to Ms [redacted] to pay account off for $to have resolved or Ms [redacted] can make consecutive payments and the account will be forwarded current and the past due fees ($1484.48) forgiven Ms***’s account is reporting accurately on Equifax (last payment received 11/1/10)This trade line cannot be deleted [redacted] Senior Manager

I have done business with okinus several times without any problems...the qualification was easy..and the approval amount was more than I needed which gave me more room to buy what needed .the monthly payments was reasonable..I did the days same as cash both times....although my payments were based on 2yrs which made my payments durable for me....however if I had went beyond the days..of course high interest rates would apply...after all there is no credit check ...whats good about this company is they not only take a chance on you regardless of credit...but they also help build your credit by reporting your good payments ...as a hard working single mother I highly recommend okinus...and yes I'll be using them again...as a matter of fact I just got another approval!!!!

Ms [redacted] is correct the down payment of $was taken online by OkinusWhen Ms [redacted] informed Okinus on the decision to cancel the contract Ms [redacted] was informed the down payment refund would be the discretion of the store (The Unique Piece)Okinus was informed by The Unique Piece that the refund for the down payment to customer was not authorizedThis is when Ms [redacted] was directed to contact the store The Unique Piece [redacted] Senior Manager

Mr [redacted] did purchase a king size mattress from [redacted] on 2/20/14, to which Okinus provided financing for with an option for Day SAC (Same As Cash)As with each customer of Okinus a welcome letter is sent (Mr***'s is attached), which outlines the regular monthly payment, due date, expiration of the Day SAC, and the number of remaining payments left after initial paymentThe letter was sent to Mr [redacted] on 2/21/and Okinus has not received any returned mailThe letter was addressed to same address that Mr [redacted] included on above complaintMr [redacted] stated in the complaint that Okinus is charging 142% interest, Mr [redacted] was explained on 6/11/when contacted office and made the payment of $that Okinus does not charge interest, that when a customer chooses not to pay account off in days that a LEASE FEE is calculated (the lease fee is retroactive to the date of purchase)Mr***'s SAC should have expired on 5/23/based off of receiving merchandise on 2/22/(when Okinus was notified); instead Mr [redacted] was given an extra days up to 6/4/to pay the account out SACOkinus cannot extend the SAC any further As a courtesy to Mr***; Okinus will offer to waive (1) lease fee ($79.15), until 6/24/ Mr***'s reduced payoff is $217.77, this offer will expire on 6/24/ [redacted] Senior Manager

Okinus received Mr [redacted] bank statement showing where the two payments (the regular monthly payment and the payoff) had drafted from his account on 2/However both payments were pending so per Okinus policy we had to ask Mr [redacted] to submit over a bank statement that show the payments posted before issuing a refund to avoid the chances of Okinus issuing a refund then the original payment coming back returnedOkinus received the bank statement showing the payments posted to Mr [redacted] account on 2/and a refund was issued that same day in the amount of $Mr [redacted] should have seen this refund in his account 1-business laterOkinus is sorry for the inconvenience that was caused to Mr [redacted] by both payments drafting from his account

I DO NOT recommend this business to anyone unless you want to be ripped offThey have been ripping people off for a while now but the Revdex.com seems to give them an A+ which is completely inaccurateI am so disappointed with this company

Ms [redacted] invoice stated her cash price was $this amount did not include sales tax as was verified on 2/17/at the request of the customer with the storeThe sales tax is not included in the cash price due to the contract being a Lease Contract (stated in bold letters beneath the Day SAC (Same As Cash) notice)The sales tax is calculated into each payment (based off of current sales tax rate)The monthly payments are broken down on the contract which reflects the monthly amount of sales tax to be paidOkinus does not have a Day SAC balance on contract however it is noted on contract that the customer can exercise their right to pay account off in daysThe taxes that are collected are paid to the county in which the store operates inMs [redacted] was sent a page Welcome Letter that summarized her recent contract (payment amount, due date, Day SAC expiration, remaining payments), the letter instructed Ms [redacted] to call for additional info, the 2nd page is our Privacy Policy, the 3rd page is a payment schedule that reflects the current balance of account less taxes It is unfortunate that Ms [redacted] did not contact Okinus previously so that could have been aware of the total amount of Day SAC payoffA refund is not due [redacted] Senior Manager

[redacted] opened a furniture account with Okinus on 7/3/2010, then opened a second account with our company on 5/12/Okinus is showing that both accounts are due for the month of October On 8/10/Ms [redacted] contacted Okinus wanting to open a third lease however we weren’t able to approve her at that timeShe stated that she would call back to payoff her first account so that she would be able to open the third leaseOkinus didn’t receive a phone call nor was there a payment received on either account after that dateOkinus tried contacting Ms [redacted] on several occasions only being able to reach her twice on 4/and 4/ When Okinus spoke Ms [redacted] on both occasions she told Okinus either she would call us back or asked for us to call her back which we didThere is no mention of Ms [redacted] requesting a pick up for the merchandise she purchasedOkinus is willing to offer Ms [redacted] a settlement of $to pay off both accounts due to she is no longer in possession of the merchandise she leased from Okinus If Ms [redacted] agrees to the settlement once it is paid in full Okinus will then report that the account is paid out

MsHampton is correct she did contact Okinus on 5/14/14, and state that wanted to stop the payment for 5/21/14, asked for the payoff (payoff was quoted) changed due date to 27th of monthMsHampton was asked whether to set payoff up said will call back if decides to pay out, asked how many payments left was informed and asked why and the MsHampton was given a breakdown of the paymentsAutomatic ACH were suspended on 5/14/ Ms [redacted] called Okinus on 5/22/and spoke to [redacted] , decided to pay the payment with checking instead of debit card (due to fees), asked for payoff after Mays payment (payoff quoted good until 6/27/14), the call ended Starting on 7/2/messages were left for Ms [redacted] to contact Okinus, a letter was sent on 7/2/Per # on page of contract authorizes Okinus to process payment Attachments: Signed Contract Letter [redacted] Senior Manager

The above payment was returned to Okinus as payment stopped. Ms. [redacted] 's due date remains 3/4/14 with the last payment of $79.98 being received on 4/21/14. The account has been notated per the last response from Ms. [redacted] . Ms. [redacted] needs to contact Okinus to provide a date when the payments will resume, again the last payment (partial) that was received was 4/21/14 in the amount of $79.98. Okinus will make an exception when a customer has fallen on difficult times provided they communicate with Okinus the difficulty in making the monthly payments on the contract (provided approved by management). Okinus needs to discuss with Ms. [redacted] the status of account. [redacted] Senior Manager

Ms [redacted] agreed upon a settlement with Okinus on 3/15/for the Lease Purchase she has with OkinusThe agreement which was signed by Ms [redacted] was for $ Okinus received payments that posted on 3/16, 4/18, and 5/for the lease account which has the balance of the settlement as of today at $Ms [redacted] was sent a copy of the settlement letter that was signed by Ms [redacted] for the settlement amount of $from the representative that she spoke with on 6/28/along with an email explaining how her balance is $The balance on Ms [redacted] 's account according to the records Okinus has is correctIf Ms [redacted] has made other payments besides the three that are listed we ask that Ms [redacted] contact Okinus again so that we can discuss the date of those payments so that we can review the account again

Ms [redacted] signed a lease agreement with Okinus on 10/30/(see lease agreement attached)The terms were disclosed in the lease agreementMs [redacted] has not paid over $on her accountThe total of payment that Ms [redacted] has made on account is $(see payment history attached)Okinus made arrangements to get account caught up with Ms [redacted] when her account initially fell behind 6/the arrangements were not metMs [redacted] asked for Okinus’ assistance again 11/to get account caught upIf arrangements are met account will then be forwarded current and the payoff reduced (by past due amount) Ms [redacted] has not satisfied the terms of the lease agreement, the lease cannot be terminatedMs [redacted] is urged to complete the arrangements from 11/and reduce the amount owed to Okinus [redacted] Senior Manager
