Case was sent to collections. Called owner, said this was an accident and that if I came in person and made three payments he would take care of it.
Can not set up an auto draft card account. Called gym and was told a manager would have to take care of it multiple times and that one would call me back. Was never called back. Made a payment in March. Recieved a letter from collection agency in July that I owed $544. Called gym. Manager answered and said that it was a mistake and if I came in in person he would take care of it if I made three payments. Wouldn't email a bill or anything stating what he said.

Desired Outcome

Would like the collection bill removed and to pay my monthly fees by auto draft.

Olympus Athletic Club took unauthorized money out of my account after I officially cancelled, following every necessary procedure.
I signed up for a two year contract with Olympus Athletic Club on Nothwest Broad on April 7th, 2016. I was told that at the end date, May 7th, 2018, the contract would turn into a rollover account whereby I would begin to be charged monthly unless giving a 30 day notice to cancel. So, on April 5th, 2018, I wrote and delivered a letter clearly stating that I did not wish to renew my account and that the last charge on my account would be April 8th, 2018 (I have a copy of the letter, as well). I delivered one copy in person (to the Northwest Broad St. location) and sent another by certified mail the same day, April 5th. I received, and still have on my person, a certified mail receipt that shows that the letter was delivered on April 7th, 2018, a full 30 days before the end date of my contract. Imagine my surprise when on May 8th, 2018, the day I am writing this, I was charged 33 dollars to my bank account. So, Olympus Athletic Club has taken unauthorized money out of my account, despite my having followed the correct procedure to cancel. I have called their number 8 times (no answer) and sent them a Facebook message, which has been seen as of 6:21 pm, with no response. My account number for *** solutions, the company they use to draw out these payments, is ***. I expect a full refund of the $33 and that no more charges will be made to my account.

Desired Outcome

I want the Athletic Club to refund me my 33$, and completely dissolve, freeze, do whatever it will take, for my account to never be charged again and for my membership to be terminated completely. I will also say that judging by how many complaints this gym has received, it is very surprising to me that such a business is still operating. The fact that I have so clearly stated that I wanted my membership cancelled, and followed every single procedure necessary to ensure that complications would not arise, tells me that the operators of this gym are careless with their customers' money and are willing to do anything it takes to grab an extta buck. No business that actually STEALS money should still be operating. I realize it is out of my power, as a consumer, to ensure an action as drastic as shutting down a business. But I do have the receipts to show that the business is actually drawing out unauthorized money, and is this not indicative of a scam? I think at, if nothing else, a thorough investigation into this establishment is necessary. That is what I ask of the Revdex.com, and of Olympus Gym, refund me my 33$, NEVER charge me again, and seriously reconsider your business practices.

As of this morning, on 5/26/18, the $33 has been refunded to my account.

I joined this gym while I was in college and I was assured that I was able to cancel at any time and it would be no problem. When I got close to graduating I was moving off so I tried to cancel and they never informed me that it was a 2 year contract and I would have a $100 cancellation fee. I said that was fine and I should have read the fine print and that I just wouldn't cancel at that time since my contract was almost over it would cost more to cancel than it would to let it run out. They continued to take money out of my account after the contract was up so I called them and they told me they switched it to a monthly renewal after the 2 years was up so I cancelled on the phone and once again they told me I was cancelled and no money would be taken out. it continued to come out of my account so I called back and they told me I had to write a letter with specific items in it and send it in certified mail and I would be cancelled. I did that and they continued to take the money out. After that, I called my credit card company and told them this company was no longer authorized to draft money from my account because they had told me on multiple occasions I was cancelled. Almost a year later I begin getting phone calls from a collection agency so I went to the gym in person and spoke with Sean B, the owner, he was extremely friendly to me and assured me that I was cancelled and that he pulled me out of collections with no money to be owed. Less than a week later and I just received another phone call from a collection agency.

Poor customer service and charging my account after my account was closed.
I originally set up a 2 year contract with Olympus gym in April of 2015. In April of 2018 I was still being charged and paying the 25 dollar monthly fee. I originally went to the Olympus in shelbyville, tn to cancel. The gentlemen there told me that I would need to go to the original place where my contract was started to cancel and between the business hours of 7-5. I went to the Murfreesboro location on March 30th ( Good Friday 2018)where they then proceeded to tell me that I needed a 30 day notice. I told them that was never told to me and my husband had just cancelled and he didn't have a 30 day notice and when sogned the same type of contract. I spoken with *** and he said he would wave the 30 day contract and cancel my account. April 9th 2018 comes around and I am charged again 25 dollars. I immediately call and leave multiple messages with everyone and not one manager ever called me back. On April 17th I just so happen to have *** answer the phone and he said that no one ever left any messages for him. He then proceeded to tell me that he cancelled my account at that time. April 26th I receive an email stating that's Olympus is once again trying to charge my account. I called them on April 27th to inquire about the charges. *** happened to answer again and said I had a $50.00 fee for a termination of contract. Wheb I spoke with *** the day to cancel a contract there was never mention of a termination fee. I had paid for my two years and shouldn't have even been charged without changing my contract to automatic payments. *** was not upset and couldn't not explain why I was charged.

I am still being charged for a monthly membership to Olympus Athletic Club, even though my contract expired March 17th, 2018.
I signed a 2 year contract with Olympus Athletic Club on March 17, 2016. In March of 2018 I went to the Shelbyville location to cancel my membership. The manager there told me that typically to cancel memberships you had to go to the location that you signed up at, but since the location I enrolled at is now closed he would handle it for me. He called the main office in Murfreesboro (NW Broad St) they stated that they had "turned off" my autorenewal and as of March 17th, 2018 I would no longer have any money deducted from my account for a membership. On April 16, 2018 they deducted $29.00 from my bank account.

Desired Outcome

I would like to be refunded of the $29.00 they took out of my account and for them to also discontinue doing so each month.

I want to cancel membership. I paid for a year and I was told by *** he would not renew membership but it did renew.
I joined online last year and I never received an emailed confirming my membership. Several months later I receive an email stating I owe over $175.00 in payment. I contacted *** and after several phone calls he tells me that my checking account number was put in incorrectly. I told him to cancel my membership, I paid for 1 year and I never went to the gym. Now a year later I am still being charged for a service I do not want and I do not use. My account was charged 3 times for $5.oo on 5/2/17 and on the same date $25.oo and $29.00 and $52.00. On 5/3/17 $25.00 was taken out and on 5/11/17 $5.oo and $25.00 again was taken out of my checking account. I have the bank statements to show the withdrawals. *** refunded some of the money. I went and spoke to him in person and asked about my membership renewing. He said he would make sure it did not renew and it did.

I want my membership cancelled. I paid for a year. I would like a refund for anything taken out since it has renewed. This would be so much easier if you could access your account with them.

A copy of your signed agreement has been attached as well as payment his for your review. You signed a 2 year term agreement therefore the contract is not eligible for cancellation yet. Daniel did process your request to make it non renewable as you asked but that is after the term is completed. He did inform you correctly when he told you that your account was behind due to the credit card being incorrectly entered as you will see on your payment breakdown. Since this was an online contract this was not a clerical error on our behalf but to assist you in catching up your payments Daniel did refund you of some late fees that you accrued. As you will also see on your payment breakdown the 5.00, 29.00, and 25.00 fees were late fees, enhancement fees, and past due monthly fees. Your membership will cancel as soon as your 24 month term is complete.

This is the first time I have seen my contract. As I said earlier I never received confirmation that I had joined last year. Yes, Daniel did refund me some of the money but again If I had known I had joined I would have been looking for a withdrawal from my account. My concern is how did I really join if my credit card was incorrectly entered. Also, they had my email address because I received information about owing them. I believe it was very poor communication. They had my phone number and email and failed to let me know I was a member or that there was an error on application.

Attached is notations of attempted calls, statements sent, and conversations between the billing company and Ms.. This membership was signed online my the member so the error in the account number was not due to an Olympus employee entering it incorrectly. An email confirmation is sent at the time of signing and there a a 3 day day grace period in which the member can cancel stated in the agreement.

I canceled my membership only to find out that the manager never canceled it for me
I went to Olympus in January to cancel my membership with the manger. He told me it was taken care of . In February I noticed another payment came out of my account . I went back to the club around 7:30 - 8pm in the second week of February and told the manager I needed to cancel my account yet again. He was on the phone and trying to take care of me as well. He yet again told me my account was canceled. Then in March I seen another payment taken out . I called , showed up in person , and have left my name and number for the manager to call me back. I've not received a call to this day and any time I ask what specific time he will be available I get the run around. On two occasions his staff has told me he was coming in around 1 but when I contacted them to make sure he is there they said he was sick and not coming in . I've even called the account solution number given to me when I first signed up however they said all accounts are handled locally. The manager is very evasive and I'd like a refund for February to April

I finally received my refund only after I had to call several more times and show up in person.

Olympus is refusing to cancel membership.
I have been trying to cancel my month to month contract with Olympus since November 2017! I have called numerous locations to try to get help in canceling, I have been told numerous times it has been canceled only to find out no one has actually canceled it. They continue to take the 25$ out of my account even though it "cancelled". I consider this stealing. I have been into the actual location to file complains and give them a written letter of cancellation and no one continues to handle it! I have fulfilled all said requirements by the employees at the gym and NO one will help me. I just wish to end my contractual agreement.

My membership cx in November 2017. They kept billing after cx, after repeated phone calls and in person visits with Danial/manager. I was finally given a cash refunded and was told membership cx. I continue to get phone calls from ASF, the co. The gym contracted to handle their billing. I received another email from ASF today. If you have not joined, Run fast!

Refund/Cancellations
My husband was given the run around from September 2017-October 2017 about cancelling our membership, he had called both the Murfreesboro and Shelbyville offices along with taking the time out in his days to go to both facilities to cancel. Each time he was either told that the "manager" or the person that handles it is not there or would cancel our membership. He continued to be charged until December when we called again to find out why, they had not cancelled part of our membership and was reassured the credit was being sent up. Well here we are February, I've since called again 4 times each time being reassured someone will take care of it or the credit will take about 5 days. Still no credits, still no accountability, still no resolution. I am tired of calling and getting told the "manager" *** will call me back and never does. I am now taking it to a higher means because the consumers need to know

Sure, It's the Olympus at *** Northside Park Dr. Shelbyville, TN XXXXX. Telephone number is XXX-XXX-XXXX. I have spoken to Dillan numerous times and many times he has told me he would call me back (most recent time was on (2/22 4:17pm CST) and he never does. Apparently, nobody can handle account cancellations except for him and his hours vary. The account has been found under *** and now all of a sudden, he can no longer find the account but as of 2/22/18, ***' bank account is still being deducted of $25. If you need assistance, please try to reach Dillan. He says he has notes in his office with our account number. I on the other hand, do not know my account number.

I continue to be billed six months after closing account. I have spoken to someone or visited the facility every month since August 2017 to resolve.
I had an automatic bill payment for membership. I moved out of state in May and called the gym the first time to cancel my membership in August 2017. I was not under any contract so it should have been a simple process of stopping payments.
In September I physically visited the gym because I had been billed again. They did have on file the date I canceled and stated it may take 30 days before the auto withdraw would stop, but I would be refunded. Every month since I have called or gone into the gym because the auto withdraw has not stopped. Each time I make contact I am assured that the withdrawals will end and I will be refunded. I have never seen or been called by the actual site manager, which I feel is extremely unprofessional after the 6 months of false assurance that the matter will be fixed. I cannot understand why or how this kind of mistake can be let to go on for so long.

I have been trying to cancel my membership for months with no reply. I revoked permission to withdraw funds and was sent to collections.
I'm not one to complain about a business, but this has gotten completely ridiculous. I called to cancel my membership with Olympus in February of 2017 and was told I needed to come into the gym to cancel. I went to the gym and cancelled my membership. Upon cancelling, I was told they were going to give me 6 months free to try out new features of the gym. I agreed, but did not end up going back. Starting in September 2017, Olympus resumed charges to my bank. I did not notice this was happening until late October and called the gym to see what was going on. It was then that I was informed by membership was still active. Over the course of the past 4-5 months (starting in November) I have been calling the gym to cancel my membership and get refunded for the charges that were hitting my bank account. Since November, I have called at least 10-12 separate times. Each time I call, I am told that the only person who can cancel a membership is "***" and he is not in. I leave my information every time and never receive a call back. In February, as suggested by an employee of Olympus, I revoked access to withdraw funds from my bank and challenged the previous charges. I was refunded a couple of the months via my bank (NOT from Olympus themselves). On 02/21/2018 I received a letter from *** (a collections agency) requesting payment for the missed month and the payments I challenged with my bank. I have called Olympus a few more times since receiving the letter and am having the same results. ALL I am asking is to get a response from the appropriate source to cancel my membership and refund the months charged without my permission. There is absolutely NO reason that I should be sent to collections and this company needs to be penalized for their dishonest business practices. I am not the only person to have had these issues. I have even been told by employees that "***" has not been returning customers calls.

I am requesting ALL payments be refunded from September forward WITH interest. I should never have been charged in the first place and am not out a couple hundred dollars because this company refuses to respond to it's customers. I am the most easy going person that anyone will meet, but I am getting extremely frustrated with this situation.

Thank you for your response. I would also like to ensure that all current balances are removed and my membership is canceled. If all of these steps are taken, I will accept this response. I have been receiving letters from a collection agency and those balances should not even be on my account.

I have been trying to cancel my membership for over a year now and will never receive a call back from the owner and keep receiving charges.
I have been told multiple different things that I need to do to cancel this membership and have filled out different forms and made several phone calls. I have even hand written letters and brought them to the location personally. Because they "only accept hand written notices not emails". I spoke to two managers today who gave me another excuse why the owner wont be in for this week.

I want the cancellation of my membership and want to be reimbursed for the charge of $25 on 3/5 and any other charges that this company will try and auto withdraw from this date foward.

I joined the Olympus Athletic Club many years ago ! I went to the gym for a while but later decided to cancel my membership due to my husbands health condition . I filled out the paperwork and returned it to my local gym . I thought that they would do their part and cancel my membership but they never did . I just so happened to see the deduction about a couple months ago and was in shock ! After all these years and I'm still paying for this . I called the local gym (Murfreesboro, Tn ) and told them the story and he said some one would call me back to help me . No one ever called me . So I called them again and I told them the story and he remembered me and assured me some one would call me back . Once again no one returned my call and it's been over a week ! This is very upsetting to me cause of all the years I have had a deduction come out of my checking account and I haven't used the gym in many years ! Owner refusing to get in contact with me. Lied to me numerous times about my contract. Stealing my money and ruining my credit.
I signed up at Olympus Atheltic Club December 2016. I was told it was month to month, NO CONTRACT. I paid for a full year and have been calling since November 2016 trying to get in contact with the owner that I did not want to continue what I thought was my, month to month, billing. Every time I call it's someone new and some new excuse. Now I'm getting daily calls and emails from a collection agency.

I have attached 2 pages of notations for review, both in which the member called in to cancel first due to move, secondly due to being pregnant. As you can see from the notes, on both occasions the member was advised on the proper steps in which to take per our cancellation policy. If the member would have followed the proper procedure in cancelling ie. providing proof of move or drs. note the membership would have been cancelled. If you do not receive the proper documentation we would be in breach of the cancelation policy.

1. I will not accept that because I told them I was no longer moving. 2. I have not yet gone to my dr to get a note from my pregnancy. 3. I was told they still wouldn't CANCEL anything. They said they 'may be able to freeze' account. 4. I talked to a different employee every single time I called. 5. I'm convinced I did not sign a two year contract because I would never have agreed to that. 6. Check your online reviews and with many people on Facebook. This business is a joke.

We can freeze your membership for the remaining term of your pregnancy and for some time afterwards upon request. Our policy on freezing is a maximum of 3 months but in trying to rectify this situation we will work with you on the length of the freeze. Our cancellation policy states that you can cancel if permanently disabled. Please let me know what length of time you want frozen. We do provide free child care for 6 weeks +. All our child care staff is cpr and first aid certified. Congratulations on your pregnancy.

Well go ahead and freeze it until November of 2018. That's six weeks after my due date. But I was told more than one occasion it could be canceled. And it better not be on some automatically renew thing when this 2 year term is up. I'm still convinced I'm not the one that signed my name on a paper for a two year contract because I would never. Not to mention I still have NEVER gotten a call back from this so called owner. That's not how an owner of a company should act. Unless they are a Money hungry pig

Ij signed my cancellation of my month toi month contract on 3-27-17 in the Shelbyville ,TN location. My bank account was charged for 9 months longer till I did a stop payment with my bank. Over the past year I have called several time and spoke to many members of management only to be told they will have "*** call me back". I am told only he can fix the issue. Here it is 11 months later and I still can't get anyone to fix the issue. I am still being billed by their billing company.

At the time of the contract they owned multiple locations, including the *** location. They are trying to use the current position of not owning that location anymore. This reply only makes things worse in that they are trying to now say they had nothing to do with the contract. I still have not seen ant refunds for the several months of taking money from my account after the contract was canceled.

I was not informed about a 2 yr. contract. I was told if I didn't want to follow through within the first 30 days I was able to cancel anytime.
My sister and I were scrolling around for a gym we came across Olympus and we decided to check it out we still weren't sure if this was the gym we wanted to attend When we first entered they were pressuring us to join. So we said why not. At first he gave us a tour to see if we liked it. Then he told me he was going to put me on the phone with the head manager so I could talk to him and that's when I was told about the deal of him charging my sister and I 45 and we would get a free 30 days just in case we changed our minds, I told them I was sure if this what we wanted he told us that was fine he was still gonna put us into the system but if we wanted to cancel at any time than we could do so. We were not informed about a 2yrs contract, we were not informed hat we couldn't cancel at any time. I'm a college student with a child I informed them about that, this is one less bill I needed. I'm very upset and I feel lied too.

Desired Outcome

To cancel my membership and not be in contact with this gym any longer

PER OUR NOTATIONS MADE BY THE BILLING COMPANY, THE MEMBER CALLED IN TO CANCEL BC SHE FOUND A GYM CLOSER TO HOME. SHE WAS EMAILED A COPY OF HER SIGNED CONTRACT IMMEDIATELY AFTER SIGNING AS WELL AS HAVING TO INITIAL EACH SECTION OF THE CONTRACT INCLUDING TERM LENGTH, ENHANCEMENT, AND RENEWAL SECTION. I CAN PROVIDE ANOTHER COPY OF CONTRACT WITH ALL SIGNATURES IF SHE WOULD LIKE. WE APOLOGIZE FOR ANY MISUNDERSTANDING BUT THAT IS WHY WE HAVE SAID MEMBER INITIAL EACH SECTION NOT JUST THE CONTRACT AS A WHOLE.

Cancellation of membership
I have been charged $29.00 for Olympus Athletic Club a few it was automatically taken out of my bank account. I had talked to the owner about cancellation of membership he gave me a ladies number to call her and cancel I did and she said everything was taken care of . I went to look at my account balance and noticed that the $29.00 has been deducted from my bank account . I called the company spoke to a lady explained what was going on and she claimed my membership had not been canceled and I would need a note from doctor about canceling or live at least 25 miles away. I told her to have owner give me call which as of 01-16-2018 I have not heard back from owner concerning this situation

Desired Outcome

I reques that the $$29.00 be refunded back to me

After speaking with *** and reviewing notes we find no notation of him speaking with our billing company or calling in and speaking with ***. Because this membership is still in term, *** would have to be contacted and proof of move or documentation of permanent disability would have to be supplied.

I did talk with a lady and canceled my membership it might of been different but I did talk with a lady to cancel if *** would give me a call to cancel this I would be happy. I'm very disappointed in how they have been in contacting me regarding this.
