I believe that the negative reviews are an aggravated attempt to slander Sean B's business. I have witnessed him first hand work with these very same customers in a professional manner. He is an extremely busy and hard working man and his facility is well kept and upholds a high standard of professionalism and quality.

Refusing to cancel membership/ sent to collections.
I have called multiple times and spoke with sales reps at Olympus about canceling my membership, each time they said it normally isn't their policy to cancel over the phone but agreed to cancel. Two months later I am now getting calls from a collection agency, I called back to this location and the said the manager would call me back and still haven't received a call.

Desired Outcome

I want the membership canceled and the bill sent to collections waived.

I have been trying to cancel my membership with this company for over a year now with no response from the company.
I have tried canceling my membership with this company for over a year now. This will be my second Revdex.com complaint with this company. I have tried contacting the gym and have been told on numerous account that the only person whom can cancel the account is ***. *** is never available and never comes to the phone. Nor does he return my phone calls. I have not been to this gym in over two years and they continue to charge my account.

Desired Outcome

I want this membership cancelled and the refund of my monies.

When it comes time to cancel your contract, Olympus is extremely difficult to deal with.
I signed a 2 year contract at the Olympus Facility that was on South Church Street in Murfreesboro, Tn, they shut down that facility and I never went but continued to pay because I signed a 2 year contract even though I did not use the facility for over a year. My membership and contract that I signed stated that my contract was completed in October 2017, when October arrived I physically went into the gym located on Broad Street in Murfreesboro, Tn and spoke to the gentlemen at the front desk that I did not want to go on the month to month membership and that I no longer wanted to be charged, he assured me and showed me his computer screen that it would not charge me anymore after October's payment. November 15th, Olympus continued to charge me for the membership, I have called over 3 times and spoken to 3 different people and gone in person and have each one tell me the same "line" saying they will relay the message to *** because he is the ONLY one that can deal with the matter and cancel or do whatever is needed to handle the situation, I have messaged the Facebook page and was told I would receive a call in just a little bit and never received a phone call. I have heard of this happening to so many people and all have said they are told the same thing about the owner ***.

Desired Outcome

I want a refund for novembers payment and need to make sure my account is removed from that system and want zero association to that gym.

Per our records you did visit Olympus and request that your membership did not auto renew on Oct. 5th at 10:32 am with Carlos. That request was submitted and your account was cancelled on 11/13. Had you not cancelled you would have had an annual enhancement fee of $29 due on 11/15. Since your cancellation date was so close to the draft date of your upcoming annual fee, our billing had already included it in the upcoming draft. That was an error on their end. Sean tried returning you call on 12/1 at 4:19pm to explain the mistake and resolve this but there was no answer. I have submitted a refund for $29 to your act and that will go through in 5-7 days. We apologize for any inconvenience and have corrected the issue.

Ever since April I was under the impression that my membership would be cancelled but was continued to be charged.
I became a member of Olympus in 2015. I went twice within 2 years. I went to cancel my memebershio a few times within the time frame and I was always told that I need to speak to mamangrt to cancel. I was always given the run around and told that the manger had just left it some other excuse. Whenever I went into Olympus in April to cancel than the manager told me that my account would be canceled and he would take care of it. So I left thinking that everything was taken care of. Around the end of July I was looking at my bank statement online and realized that I was charged for that month. I continued to look back in the months of may& June also. They had charged me for those months as well. Whenever I discovered this I called up to the gym and spoke to the sales manager. He told me that he would turn in my account to ABC and that I would get my money back within a week. A total of $150. A week and a half went by and I didn't receive my money. So I called back and spoke to him again. He said he would do it again and if I didn't get my money within a few days to let him know. This happened around 2 or three more times. They charged me again for August& September. The total than went up to $175. The only money I have received back from them in 6 months is I was refunded for 1 month by the sales manager. The last time that I spoke to olympus about my problem the guy I spoke to told me that "the more that I bug his manager than the longer it will take for me to get my money back".

Desired Outcome

I would like a full refund and for them to resolve all of the other many accounts that are having the same problem as me.

I SEE A NOTATION ON 9/20 FROM DYLAN NOTING THAT THE MEMBERSHIP SHOULD BE CANCELLED BUT HE DID NOT FOLLOW THE PROPER PROCEDURE IN DOING SO. BECAUSE IT WAS A CLERICAL ERROR I WAS REFUND OCTOBERS PYMNT AND ALSO CANCEL IMMEDIATELY.

AS OF TODAY, THEY CONTINUE TO CHARGE FOR BOTH MEMEBERSHIPS. WE HAVE CALLED NUMEROUS OF TIMES TO CORRECT THIS AND HAVE LEFT MANY MESSAGES FOR DYLAN, THE MANAGER, TO CALL US BACK. EVERY TIME WE CALL, HE'S NEVER THERE, IT'S HIS "DAY OFF". WE WANT OUR MONEY BACK.

WE MADE AN AGREEMENT THAT THEY WOULD STOP OUR ACCOUNTS. WE WANT THEM TO STICK TO THAT AGREEMENT AND REFUND US FOR THEM CONTINUING TO CHARGE US.

THIS ACCOUNT HAS BEEN HANDLED THROUGH THE BILLING COMPANY. *** AND HIS WIFE WERE BOTH UNDER A TERM CONTRACT, BUT WE ALLOWED THEM TO CANCEL EARLY WITH A CANCELLATION FEE.

Company refuses to cancel membership and continues to bill me. Gym is unsafe due to old machines and moldy equipment.
I went into Olympus gym sometime in December of 2016 or early January 2017 to workout for a day. Owner tells me that even though I live in Memphis, I should look into getting a membership at Olympus because I could use it in both cities. I let's him know that I already have a membership in Memphis but I'll look into they're prices anyway. An Olympus employee rights me up a contract, and I tell him "I'll sign it now, but I'll call in later to give you my credit card information if I really want to go through with it," and he says "that's fine." Two days later, I call in and let an employee know my situation and that I wanted to cancel it. Whoever I talked to at the time said "you're good to go. It's canceled."

May 2017 I get a call from a billing agency letting me know that I owe a $95 balance of unpaid gym membership to Olympus. I let them know the situation and they tell me I have to call Olympus.

I call Olympus and they told me they have no proof of anyone canceling it, so I HAVE to pay for it because "it's a legally binding agreement."

Long story short, they lied to me about the contract and now I am paying $30 a month for a membership that is 4 hours away for 2 years.

I finally have a chance to go inside and use the gym, and to my surprise, the equipment is falling apart and is a hazard to all those that exercise there. AWFUL business, and unsafe place to exercise for all.

Desired Outcome

Cancel my membership and cancel payments. I will even pay cancelation fee.

Company refuses to answer me and will not follow through with what they said. I've been charged for three months since this case started. I don't believe the company will go through with anything they say.

The business continued to auto-draft money from my bank account after I canceled my membership.
I was a member of this gym for 8 years, from 2009 to 2017, paying $30 a month every month. In Feb. 2017 I was moving, so I needed to cancel. The manager *** badgered me into putting my account in suspended status and trying to find someone to transfer it to. He assured me that if I didn't find anyone I could cancel it over the phone. I finally agreed and when I was unable to find anyone to take over the account I canceled over the phone a few weeks later. The person that I spoke to said that it was canceled, and I did not think I'd need to require proof from them.

On September 25th 2017 I received a charged from them for $30.19. I called the gym and spoke to *** again, who stated that he would cancel the account (though I don't know if he did) but would not refund the $30.19. It's not a large sum of money, but it's not money that they were owed and when I researched this after the phone call I saw that there were many similar complaints from former customers. The manager was not willing to refund the money that they took from me on account of their employees mistake, and he said that he couldn't do it because he didn't know if I was telling the truth. I asked to speak to the owner, ***, and he said I would be unable to do so for several months but would not say why.

Desired Outcome

I wish to have the $30.19 refunded to me. They had no right to charge my account as I canceled according to the instructions given to me by the general manager ***. I can not help it if they did not update their records. I would also like confirmation that my account is in fact canceled, because I don't know if they'll continue to try and deny that I canceled my membership.

I was billed again in October, even though I had cancelled my account several times. I called back and this time the owner, Sean B, answered the phone. I explained the situation, and he was extremely understanding and helpful. He refunded the two months that I was billed after cancelling and told me that my account was closed. This resolved my complaint.

Wanted refund due to Church street location closed. Manager refused
Late last year I joined Olympus on Church st. After 2 weeks in to my membership, Church street closed down. I went to the Broad street location and requested a refund, and the manager refused. The only reason I joined Olympus was because of the convenient location of the Church st. location. I paid $300 for my wife and I for the entire year. I requested $250 back since I used a month or less of membership. I would be willing to work something out

IF WE REFUNDED THIS ACCOUNT WE WOULD BE AT RISK OF CLASS ACTIONS SUITS TO EACH AND EVERY MEMBER. WE CANNOT ISSUE REFUNDS TO ONE MEMBER AND NOT ALL. SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE.

A little more than 4 miles. Is 4 miles what the contract says? Please see the map of directions showing more than 4 miles. Also the only reason I joined up at the Church street location was due to the fact it was close to the house. I didn't even step foot in the other one till I seen the other one shut down. I have filled a complaint with the Tennessee attorney general. I will close both cases if you work with me. I'm reasonable

PER LAW AND SIGNED CONTRACT WE ARE NOT OBLIGATED TO CANCEL AS LONG AS A CLUB CAN BE PROVIDED WITHIN A 15 MILE RADIUS. BROAD ST LOCATION IS 4 MILES FROM OUR PREVIOUS CHURCH ST LOCATION.

When I signed, I was told that I could end my membership after leaving for college without the extra fee. Unaware of the actual length of membership.
When I signed, I was not aware that when I cancel I would have to pay $100. I explained that I would be leaving for college soon, however the employee did not tell me that my contract would be for two years rather than two months. Now I am in a bind, where I can not afford the $100 plus the late billing fees from the gym not taking out my payment on the day that they should. I am also unable to use the membership because I currently live three hours away. So, I am paying a memebership that I can't even use, can't afford, and don't even recall signing and for sure did not see an actual contract.

I want my membership canceled and/or refunded for the months I paid and couldn't use.

MS. SIGNED 6/6/2017 THE FIRST CONTACT WE HAVE RECORDED WITH NOTICE OF MOVE IS ON 8/14/17. THE MEMBER ONLY PAID FOR THE MONTH OF JULY AND AUGUST. THERE IS A 30 DAY NOTICE OF CANCELLATION AS WELL AS PROOF OF MOVE AND CANCELLATION FEE OF $100.00. IN GOOD FAITH I AM WILLING TO WAIVE THE 30 DAY NOTICE AND THE CANCELLATION FEE BUT I CAN NOT RETURN ANY PAYMENTS BC SHE DIDNT SPEAK TO A REPRESENTATIVE UNTIL 8/14.

Shelbyville location is in terrible condition. Most cardio equipment doesn't work properly. Cardio cinema room is in disrepair. If membership wasn't cheap we would go elsewhere.
