The account was started up again on July 14th after an insert ad was mailed back to us. The address was entered as [redacted], but phone calls and other notes from the customer suggest that the correct address is [redacted]. We have stopped the account and sent back a refund of $52.01 for the...

Review: Formal Complaint Against Oppenheimer Funds Inc Dear Sir / Madam: I am writing to initiate a formal complaint against Oppenheimer SteelPath (hereinafter "SteelPath"), an affiliate of Oppenheimer Funds, with respect to a recent online investment from which unauthorized sales charges in the amount of $1,379.46 were deducted. Having spoken to a supervisor at SteelPath named [redacted] on the [redacted] and [redacted] of July 2013, I was disappointed to hear that SteelPath would not refund these sales charges after I was alerted of their presence on my account. I have been an account holder of SteelPath's since 2010. I have an established course of dealing with Steelpath under which no such upfront fees were ever charged over the course of numerous separate purchase transactions, so I would not have expected this charge. Nor was I alerted there would be a change in our course of dealings. I made the discovery three days after making an investment in the "OPP SteelPath MLP Income Fund A" on July *, 2013, the same day I was first granted online access to my account information. I immediately queried the charge and was informed by a subordinate of [redacted]'s on [redacted] July 2013 that the new terms had taken effect only days before I made my investment, and that by making an online investment, I had implicitly agreed to these new terms. I clarified to SteelPath that I had in way agreed to such fees, and that the fees were never disclosed to me. As far as I was aware, any such fee was not mentioned in any of the screens I had been shown as I was making my investment. Having told [redacted] that I find these business practices fraudulent and misleading, I requested a refund or these charges or an unwind of my investment. [redacted] informed me on [redacted] July that he had spoken to the investment advisor who refused a refund or unwind. In settlement of this complaint, I would like the upfront fees refunded for the transaction I initiated on [redacted] July. I consider these charges fraudulent and misleading.
