Review: While working on my computer all of sudden I received a pop up saying in need to call[redacted] I called the number and was on hold so I hung up. A few seconds later I get a call saying that I am a [redacted] representative ([redacted]) and said that I just called this number and what is the problem. So I told him that I received a pop up message saying that I have a Trojan virus (Zeus.Zbot.aoag) he then asked if all hardware was working correctly I said yes and he said this is a software issue and transfer me to Micro Software support. I then spoke to a Jeff Lou and told him what I was getting on the screen and he said before I can talk to a technician he was giving me a price of $250 to fix my problem, I then told him no I would just reload software with that he stated that would no fix the problem so for $400.00 dollars he would give me service for 1 computer 3 years warranty + Network Security (Lifetime). I questioned this again and stated that this better not be a scam which he said it is not. Also he said that all software security like Norton or McAffee is useless on computers and that the real issue is with the network security. So I said ok and this better not be a scam. So [redacted] a technician gets on the line and says he will fix the virus it should take about 45 minutes. He had to remote into the PC with my permission I said ok but it took him about 10 minutes to remote in to the PC. About 40 minutes he stated that he was done and all problems were solved. I need to test the PC out and verify everything is ok. At this point I told him to call me back in about 10 minutes after testing the PC. At this point I thought he disconnected the remote session which he did not and then called back in the 10 minute span. I spoke to [redacted] again and said everything is ok and he transferred me to his supervisor Victor James then he asked some questions and I was transferred to [redacted]. At that point [redacted] was asking about the check being sent in the mail I said it would go out on Monday since mail was already picked up. So since they were sill remote into the PC he asked if I could scan a check and send it in an e-mail. I said ok. He then wrote up is on e-mail for me to send back to him stating that my (Peter Sineni) issue was fixed & will be writing a check of $400.00 for the services. I again stated that this better not be a scam and I want a written contract sent via an e-mail. [redacted] said I would have the contract in a couple of hours. This was at 11:51on June 21,2014. At around 10 PM I sent another e-mail stating that I have yet to receive the contract and that a stop payment is going to occur & that I am getting scammed at this point. Next morning I had trouble with the PC called the number given to me [redacted] for if I had any issue this is the tech support number. I had to call 2 times the 1st time they hung up on me and the 2nd time they answered the phone and when they went to check and they hung up on me. That is when I went on line to find out about the company and could not find anything out, I kept on pulling up information about PC UPDATE SUPPORT. At this time I stopped payment on check do to being scammed and dealing with a fraud company. I then got a hold of Microsoft company and told them what happened and they the remote into my PC after me paying $360 for them to fix all my issues. At this time they gave me all the information I need for them to remote into the PC feeling at ease that I was not scammed again. They told me to stay by the PC until they were finished doing what they had to do, which with [redacted] they said for me to do what ever I needed to do. On Monday June 23 I received a call from somebody name I could not understand asking a couple of times her name. She wanted to remote into my PC to fix any issues with the PC. I told her no and she was very persistent to remote into the PC. At that point I stated that I put a stop on the check and that her so call company was a fraud and I was not going to be scammed anymore. Since the I have been getting phone calls with different area codes and 800 numbers with nobody being on the other end of the line.Desired Settlement: I would like a check in the amount of $370 from this company due to the fact that I had to have a true Micro Software technician redo my software because I had more issues the next day and had to have them remote into my PC to fix all the issues caused by Danny (M and A Tech LLC) aka PC UPDATE SUPPORT. also for the stop payment of the check. Also stop calling my house with different area codes and 800 numbers.

Review: I was having trouble with my [redacted] email account so I called a number that was listed on the web as [redacted]. The representative claimed he was from [redacted] and informed me that he would need to have access to my computer to diagnosis the problem. Since I had called a number that was supposed to be a [redacted] number, I agreed to let him see my computer. He talked me through a web site that allowed him to see my computer screen and check on the problem. He informed me that I had a virus and I had been hacked and several computers had access to my computer. He recommended that I contact a certified [redacted] technician to fix the problem. He just happened to have the number and since he was on computer he would forward the issue to the [redacted] technician. The next person I talked to confirmed that he would fix the problem and I would need to send them a check for $499.95. I tentatively agreed and watched what the technician did. It appeared that all the technician did was delete some files and tool bars. I was given a number to call if I had any issues.After the technician was done I called the number and found out that [redacted] technician and the [redacted] representative were the same organization, the PC Update Support LLC company. I contacted [redacted] and they confirmed that I had not contacted any of their offices and they were not billing me $499.95. I had been scammed by PC Update Support into giving them access to my computers.I have taken actions that may stop them from accessing my computers but not 100% sure. I have not paid them the $499.95 since they misrepresented themselves as first reps from [redacted] and then as a licensed [redacted] repair service.Desired Settlement: Since I am being billed $499.95 by unauthorized technicians, I am requesting that this bill be waived. I am also requesting that PC Update Support be stopped from further illegal activities.

Review: Bait and switch; Called an 800 # for Canon Tech support; [redacted] It was NOT Canon - reached this company; they executed an on line "analysis" of my PC advised me that I had serious hacking, virus and malware problems that needed immediate attention. A clever presentation that got my attention. They transferred my call to a "Microsoft Certified Technician" (MCT)so they said. The MCT took over my machine for about an hour, installed a free Microsoft program called Microsoft Security Essentials and some "network security software", so called. The fee for all this was $699; I was to send them a check. A little research on my part disclosed that these people are scammers, and there is much in the i-net about their "offerings".

Subsequently:

My printing problem was not resolved;

I have not, nor do I intend, to send any money;

I ran a malware program and found 5 instances of PUPs including programs called "ilivid", which is a browser hijacker, and "opencandy" advertising malware;

These 5 PUPs were installed by the technician yesterday;Desired Settlement: I do not ever want to hear from these crooks again.

Review: I was having problems connecting our new IMAC with our printer & called the printer support service. They were able to transfer me directly to a support person who labeled themselves as Cisco technical support. A man with a heavy Indian accent said he could run a check on our computer to evaluate the problem. He said we had a virus and that our computer had several foreign addresses which meant that our computer was not safe and that we needed to fix the problem immediately because if we did our banking or purchased anything with credit cards it would be unsafe. He took control of the computer screen and said he could repair the problems. He asked if we had other computers and I said we had 3. He said he needed to repair all 3 because they were all infected. After waiting over an hour for them to repair all 3 computers, he said everything was fixed. He said I had to mail them a check for $449.95 for 1 YEAR COMPUTER SERVICE FOR 3 COMPUTERS (WITH LIFETIME SECURITY SOFTWARE.) I foolishly mailed them the check. I have a copy of their invoice and of the original check.Desired Settlement: Refund check for $449.95

Review: I bought a new computer and took it out of the box on 9/7/13 to set it up. When I tried to install [redacted] printer software, I had a problem. Went to the [redacted] website looking for assistance. Called [redacted] A technician helped me with my issue and then noticed an issue with my ip address. He gave me an address about 35 miles away that I could take this brand new computer and could sense my hesitation. He then said he could call [redacted] technician to help me. He called this pc update support llc. They told me it would cost $249.95 to rid my brand new computer of this spyware - something called Zeus Trojan. He worked on the computer for a while. I became suspicious because they never asked for credit card information and just said to mail a check for this amount and gave me an address. I went to the bank today to get a bank check because I was hesitant about sending off a personal check with my account number and bank routing number on it. When I got home I turned on the computer and decided to see if I could find any information on this company. I then found a story out there very similar to mine and the person was stating they felt this company had access somehow to their computer. I then called [redacted] and explained the situation. They ran many scans on my computer and found quite a bit of spyware that was installed apparently by this company last night on my computer. With this spyware they would be able to track my banking, etc. [redacted] told me they believe this was some kind of scam and they also advised me to contact my local police department and file a report about this experience.Desired Settlement: Don't send me any more invoices for this $249.95 and also I should be reimbursed for the $106 I paid to [redacted] to get the spyware installed by them off my computer

Review: I had a problem with my Verizon network reception on my Smart phone. Went online to contact Verizon; I called the number for Verizon customer service support. I was told that it was a problem with my computer that caused this. The man I spoke to told me I had foreign addresses on my computer as well as a Trojan virus and others. He showed me the Wikipedia page on the Trajan virus. He said I would need a certified Microsoft technician to clean my machine. If done in person it cost $400 and I would be without my machine for several days. He offered an online option that could be done immediately at a cost of $250. I opted for the online fix. He connected me with a man from the PCUpdate Support, located in Newark Delaware. PCUpdate asked for a bank check #, which I gave them. Since I was referred by who I thought was a Verizon customer service rep, I allowed PCupdate Support fix my computer remotely. Then I got nervous and suspected it was a scam, I feared that my computer and accounts were compromised. As a result, I had a certified Microsoft technician scan my computer for problems (cost: $104). The Microsoft technicians found a Trojan virus and 7 others. I did not receive the service that I was promised Desired Settlement: I will not pay for services that were not received.

Review: I had an issue accessing my yahoo email account, when I contacted Yahoo support they told me that my email may have been hacked and they said that they were going to transfer me to someone that can further assist me. The call was transfered to PC UPDATE where a caller claiming to be a MICROSOFT CERTIFIED tech began to tell me that my email, my computer, my bank account and even my cell phone has been hacked by more than one hacker. This tech told me that he needed to access my computer in which I agreed, he spent about 2 hours pulling up screens that were all a show. Come to find out this tech really did not fix anything on my computer, it was all fake. The tech requested $299.00 to be sent to PC UPDATE by the given due date and unfortunately I went ahead and sent the check before realizing that I was completely HACKED. I trusted this company since YAHOO support had transfered me to them. My computer never had anything wrong with it. Also I was told that I have a warranty which all details would be emailed to me, I never received an email. I then tried calling the phone number given to me by the tech which has a recording saying YOUR CALL IS VERY IMPORTANT TO US AND WILL BE ANSWERED IN THE ORDER RECEIVED then classical music will play for awhile before the recording says GOODBYE. I called numerous different phone numbers that I found online for this company and still went through the same thing. Funny thing is that their website states 24/7 tech support, yet when I call I cant get ahold of anyone.Desired Settlement: I want to be refunded the $299.00 that I sent them. I want no further contact with this company. I want legal actions to be taken upon this so called company.

Review: I was unable to get into my online banking account.

I called the bank and they sent me a total of 4 emails with a new password. I did not rec. any of the emails. The bank suggested that I contact Charter, my email account.

I called Charter and the man ask for permission to take control of my computer to find the problem. He did this and came back and said that my computer had been hacked and they were attempting to get into my bank account. He said he could transfer me to Microsoft and they would repair my computer. He said it would cost me $300, but if I did not get it fixed they could clean out my bank account. He then put me on hold and when he came back he said that a repair rep. was from Microsoft was on the line with up and he had explained what the problem was.

I thought I was talking to a rep from Microsoft. He told me it was going to cost me $300 but he would have the computer fixed in a few minutes and that I would have a 1 year agreement that they would fix anything that I had problems with on my computer. He said he had control of my computer and would have it repaired in a few minutes. I watched him move into several areas of the computer. One of the things that I noticed was he disabled my Norton Security. When he was finished I offered to give him my credit card number for the charges, but he said that I should mail a check to P C Update Support in De. I was surprised that it was not mailed to Microsoft. I asked him and he said no, they were authorized technical supports for Microsoft. When I got off the line with him, I called Microsoft and was told that I had been scammed I said he would repair my computer for appx. $100.00. I told him I would let him know.

I contacted a man that works on computers at Staples. He said he would come to my house and repair my computer. He worked for almost 3 hours. Said he found 186 diff. virus problems on my computer. He only charged me $100 for all his work He said to change all my passwords. The next day I called Charter and they said who ever I talked too had not made notes about my call, and they didn't know who it was. I also received a call from a woman fro P C Update Service demanding to know if I had mailed a check and why not. I told her what I had done and she insisted that they did not put all of the virus into my computer, and that I would have to pay them the $300 that I had agreed to. I advised that I was going to report them to the Revdex.com.Desired Settlement: Refund my repair cost of $100.

Stop calling a harassing me.

Review: On or about 8/17/2013 I was given the name of this company to solve an issue in my computer. The company remoted into my computer and claimed to have found that it was infected and for $299.95 they would fix the problem. They requested a check in payment for their services rather than a credit card. They never fixed the issue I first called about and I have since found that this company has scammed many others but not before I had sent them a check to the address they provided. They are now claiming that they never received the check. I have a copy of the cancelled check but the endorsement is just a stamp that says "FOR DEPOSIT ONLY", it does not have a company name or account number. They want me to send them a copy of the cancelled check but I do not want to have any more correspondence with this company because I do not trust them.
