PCI Auctions East Coast Reviews (48)

PCI Auction Spartanburg, SC
Let me start by saying I have been buying from auctions since 2011 and have never had an experience this bad. I have purchased from PCI in North Charleston with no issues, but they sold the franchise.
In November, 2017, I purchased $1800 worth of merchandise. My daughter purchased over $300.
My daughter, her boyfriend and myself drove 2 1/2 hours with a rental truck to get our items.
Upon arrival at 12:20p we were sent to a church parking lot 1/4 mile up the road to put our name on a waiting list to get our items. We were #22 on the list and were told they were on #8.
Long story short, by the time we were called, drove back to the warehouse and had our pickup list in hand, it was 5:30pm. YES, 5 HOURS LATER.
We had to go to different buildings on site to get our things which took another 1 1/2 hours for a TOTAL OF 6 1/2 HOURS TO GET OUR THINGS.
Now, I also want to mention my daughter bought a TV that when she and her boyfriend loaded on our truck, mentioned the screen had a spot that didn’t look right. I told her to go get it off the truck and we are going to plug it in. The owner of PCI (I think his name is David) gave us a drop cord and when we plugged it in you could see 2 spots under the screen that were smashed like when a baseball hits a window and a big crack running from one corner to the other. The picture looked like abstract art. He said, it didn’t say tested and working. I told him we called during the auction to ask about items that didn’t say tested and working and the female we spoke to said everything came out of a working restaurant. He said well it didn’t say tested and working. I said this is bu!$h! and he needs to refund her $100+ that she paid. He did send her over to the cashier who reversed the charge.
The other items we purchased were FILTHY. The commercial 4 door cooler had filthy saturated bar rags thrown in the bottom with wire shelves on top of them, broken glass and LIVE German cockroaches (daughters boyfriend is a former exterminator). One of the cooler doors also has 1/2” gap at the bottom and doesn’t seal properly. The commercial microwave was basically a handful of grease, same as the commercial oven. The chaffing dishes with lids had the lids falling off and were filthy. I also bought a wooden shelving unit that had about 1/4” of dust (not exaggerating) and had 2 aweful knickknacks glued to it.
My daughter bought a sofa which was one of about 10 in the auction. Hers had a rip in the seat which was not in the picture or in the comments. They used the same picture for all the sofas in the auction. It also had a FRESH RAT POOP on the seat, again, boyfriend is a former exterminator. My daughter ended up giving the sofa to another guy who bought several of the sofas.
This is the most unorganized mess of an auction I have ever seen. The auction was way to big to hold pickup in one day. The owner totally bit off more than he could chew. The item conditions were not described and the stuff was absolutely filthy.
The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because the ladies at the desk and the young men who were getting the items and loading them were very helpful. And when I mentioned the TV story to one of the workers he said when the TV’s were being loaded onto the trucks, they were just being thrown in on top of each other, not wrapped, and just all stacked up. I wonder how many other people bought broken TV’s! Several of the young men apologized to us for the wait.
I did say one positive came from this, I’m positive I won’t be buying from them again.
I’m still waiting to see if the gas commercial oven I purchased for $700+ works or not because it didn’t say tested and working ????

The pictures are very deceiving, very disappointed with my purchases. Becareful with the pictures; they looking nothing like the actual merchandise.

Make sure when writing these complaints that you describe what location that you are complaining on. Some are great to work with and others are horrible. They will call you a liar, stupid and do nothing that even resembles customer service. The most complaints that I hear are from the Manheim PA. location. She (ASH) states that she is half owner. She certainly does not operate like a half owner. If I was the other partner, I would monitor how this woman runs the show. Employees have different sales pitches from weekly charges to daily charges. They certainly give a bad name to the industry and certainly to the other divisions of PCI auctions. If I were looking at investing into the PCI auctions community, I would either wait until these owners are no longer associated with this group of co-geographical business owners. This location will leave a bad task in your mouth. Well, the last thing I will leave you with is if you buy from this location, you will get a huge "I told you so" from me and countless others.

If you want a no hassle, great purchasing environment, buy from Nashville, West Virginia, or Cleveland. It's a shame the PCI Auction Manheim location is giving you other guys and bad name.

Good luck.

When submitting these posts, type the "PCI Auction" name as many times as you can in your post if you want it to show up in the google searches. This is how it is searched in google to appear close to the PCI auction website. This will ensure that PCI auction purchasers will be fully informed not to purchase from the Manheim location. This tactic worked great for the "fasttrack auction" website who had to recreate a whole new website because people complained sooo much it ruined their website address. So, here is what I hope happens. I hope that some one internally is smart enough to know what is in store for the website and makes the Manheim location straighten up. If you don't, they are going to end up ruining the industry for every on else.

Remember type the name PCI Auction as many times in the review if you are wanting it to show up in google searches. Thank you for listening to my warnings.

Good luck.

We purchased several items from the most recent PCI Auction. First of all, they charge a $1 fee to "verify your card" and you do not get it back. Secondly, they charge another fee after you win the items. Ours was an extra $9. The auctions ended just shy before midnight and we have to pick up the items the next day between 10 am - 4 pm. If you cannot make it by 4 pm the following day they charge a daily storage fee, starting at $10 (for very small items). We drove an hour to get to their location. Upon arriving, we paid our total and then we were told we had to drive to a different location to receive the items. Once we made it to the 2nd location we had to stand outside in the freezing cold while they finished helping the people ahead of us. Finally, it was our turn. We gave the employee the paper with our purchases and he walked off without saying 1 word to us. Eventually, he came outside with 2 small items. Over the next hour, our items came out one by one. I forgot to mention, in between items, the employees stood around while smoking and talking to one another. After 35-40 minutes, we only had 1/2 of our items and had not seen an employee for a good 5 minutes. Once we realized that they were smoking and standing around, I became beyond frustrated. I proceeded to go into the wear house and questioned what the hold up was and asked them to get the remaining items we purchased. I had to continue to do this. With 2 items left, the employee told me he needed me to sign off on our order, stating we received all of our purchases. I told him that a). My girlfriend was the one to make the purchase & that she would have to be the one to sign off on them and b). We still did not have all of our things. Now we have one item left and the guy comes up to my girlfriend and asked her to sign off on the paper. She proceeded to explain to him that we were still missing one wire basket and he seemed confused. I followed him back into the warehouse and began to search for our last thing myself. Finally , another employee found it and handed it to me. My girlfriend then agreed to sign off on the purchase list. The employees were clueless, very unorganized, rude, and lazy. As I stated in the beginning, we had to a). Be there by 4 pm or would be charged a storage fee and B). Had to pay an extra fee, once the auction ended. However, we had to do most of the work for them. We will never buy another item from them. It's not worth feeling as if you have been taken advantage of. Such a unpleasant and unprofessional experience. Buyers beware!

I recently made two purchases of neon beer signs from PCI Auctions located in Manheim, Pa. for a total price of $128. After taking off work and driving a total of three hours to pick-up the items I noticed that one of the signs was severely damaged. Hoping for the best on the other item, I plugged it in and was immediately shocked to the point my arm went numb for several minutes. Upon closer inspection, this item too had been damaged as one of the neon tubes was completely broken. I placed a call to their office and an e-mail to the owner and both parties had the same reply "You bought it as is and there is nothing that we can do for you". The problems I have here are: They provide photos for their online auctions that you can not click on to enlarge, so all of the items look great and you can see no apparent flaws or damage. And the fact they do not even take a moment to test an item to see if it's in working condition. I would never do business with the company in the future and I would suggest others to stay away as well. I would have gladly driven the three hours to return the items for credit or some type of compensation. They had a set of five or six spill mats that they were probably going to receive a total of twenty dollars for that I would have settled for as a make good gesture. I am a very low key, easy going guy and would have chalked it up to a learning experience. However, I feel that I want to warn others about the way they conduct business and how little they care about their customers level of satisfaction.
