On 3/30, I sent the following letter to this customer as a reply to the same complaint that he made on our website feedback forum:

Thank you for contacting Carmike Cinemas and thank you for your patronage at our Carmike location in *** **I am sorry that our prices went upAs with most businesses, we occasionally have no choice but to adjust our pricesThis is due to several factors, such as rising cost of goods, additional NC taxes that we are now subject to and a higher percentage of ticket sales that go back to HollywoodWe try our best to keep our prices as low as we can and we also try to make sure we continue our savings programs such as Stimulus Tuesdays, our annual popcorn bucket and our Super Bargain Matinees
Additionally, just like Wal Mart, Target or any other consumer business, we do not have to inform the public ahead of time when we slightly raise our pricesWe advertise our correct prices on our website and at the locationYou, as the consumer, have to right to not pay these prices and go elsewhereWe hope you do not choose to do so
Since, I do not want any customer to leave less than satisfied, I would be more than happy to send you some courtesy passes so you can see another film on meJust reply via the email address below and I will get them out to you right awayIf you do not want that option, just let me know via the email address below and I can arrange for the theatre to refund your ticket

yes I would love some of those passes that would make up for it :) but you REALLY should have at least something on the website like "prices are subject to change" or something just so the movie goers know that the price can go up at ANY time thank you very much I will gladly go back now I just have to know that I have to pay a extra quarter now :)

When you came to our theatre to enjoy a movie and escape, you certainly didn't expect to have this charge appear. To Whom It May Concern,
Our website advertises features that play at select locations. We have nearly locations nationwide. Each location is of varying size and are in vastly different markets. We cannot play the exact same features at every location
as there are some factors that are out of our control.
Specifically, Ghostbusters was a limited release. The studio that distributes this feature released it on a very limited basis and only high volume locations played it. This was out of our control.
This complaint could also apply to movie preview advertising that one would see on TV, billboards and other large reaching mediums. Just because it is advertised it does not mean it will play at every movie theater

theatre.  I have addressed this situation with our complex manager and made it very clear where we dropped the ball.  Our complex manager has assured me that she and her team will put in fail safes into place to ensure that something like this will not happen again.  That being said I will be sending you two complementary movie passes to the postal address that you provided along with a money order for $20.00 so you are compensated for both your movie and your concession purchases.  I certainly understand that this will not alter your recent visit but I hope that you will accept this as a gesture of good faith and our sincere interest in providing a quality movie going experience for all our valued patrons.

Good morning Ms. [redacted] -
I am very sorry to read the events of your visit as you've laid them out.  Carmike Cinemas is in the business of customer service, and it seems that we did not achieve our goal on the night of the 23rd. 
Carmike Cinemas has policies in place...

that ensure our staff monitor the auditoriums several times each feature.  During these checks, the team member looks for anything that he/she, or guests, may find distracting; cell phones, talking, etc.  We also look for any presentation problems and temperature concerns, especially during the initial visit into the auditorium. 
I will be investigating the circumstances surrounding the events as you indicated, to see how our team responded to their assigned tasks, and this does include the managers role in the handling of your concerns.  The Managing Director, [redacted], will be working alongside me, and we will identify any area where a breakdown may have occurred and immediately address it with the staff on site the night of your visit.  It is our honor to help and serve our guests and I will make sure that message is reiterated to the team during our discussion - consider it a refresher course!
I have mailed two complimentary tickets to the address provided in the letter to the Revdex.com, which you should receive very soon.  I sincerely wish you return to the location so we may prove to you that we know how to do things right.  If you choose otherwise, our location in Prattville, just off Cobbs Ford Rd. will gladly accept the passes as well.
