Worst dating service ever! They said they would do all this stuff & said they listen to what their clients say but they pay no real attention to anything initial netting discussion or any feedback that is given on your profile. I want a refund from all of this & just try to move on with my life in a more positive way.

Review: Pittsburgh Singles advertises itself as a safe way to approach the dating process, stating that all of the 20,000 members undergo background checks. This is their selling factor, particularly for women. Since dating is an extremely personal service and membership cost is extremely high, the unknowing customer assumes that the organization has qualified personnel handling the process they use and that any client concerns that arise will be handled appropriately...but...once the membership contract is signed and the organization has the client's money, customer service is absolutely non-existent. Staff members have no qualifications, do not answer the phone, and email responses are short and canned, if they exist at all. The more you contact them, the less they respond. Even legal responses to past complaints to the Revdex.com are canned legal statements. Employees are rude and judgmental, justifying their actions with canned organizational face answers. The company twists the facts in their favor and can do so with the iron-clad contract they place in front of the unsuspecting client to sign as they are otherwise occupied filling out the required questionnaire, knowing that the client will not take the time to fully read what they are signing. The customer with later concerns is told that any problems they experience are their own personal problems and that the organization is fulfilling its obligations. The contract a member signs greatly protects the business, leaving the client without any rights at all and no chance for a refund or having their personal membership needs appropriately addressed. Advice to the public: Steer very clear of Pittsburgh Singles. The organization is totally unethical. They will take your money, then ignore your concerns/feedback and you will NOT find suitable dating matches. I was even told by the director to "go ahead and take it to the media". They deserve the F rating they have with the Revdex.com, but sadly, they don't give a damn what you do or say once they have your money.Desired Settlement: A prorated refund of the fee I paid. Membership lasted 5 months before requesting cancellation on grounds of my inappropriate fit with their unethical practices. I hope dissatisfied members will file claims against this business to protect other unsuspecting individuals from being scammed. Maybe enough negative feedback will be grounds for an investigation of their shady business practices leading to their organization being dissolved or forcing them to settle disputes in an ethical way.

First and foremost, Pittsburgh Singles takes every member complaint very seriously, and it concerns us that Ms. [redacted] is so unhappy. Additionally, Ms. [redacted]'s complaint is very derogatory full of misstatements. It really represents an inaccurate portrayal of Pittsburgh Singles. Most importantly, on July 28, 2014, Pittsburgh Singles received a letter from Ms. [redacted] stating that she no longer wished to receive service from Pittsburgh Singles. This came after Ms. [redacted] had expressed her concern about her finances. As such, Pittsburgh Singles has mutually ceased all service. However, Pittsburgh Singles has a firm "no refund policy" (See paragraph 4a. of the contract, which states: "EXCEPT WHAT IS OTHERWISE PROVIDED HEREIN, THERE IS NO RIGHT TO RESCIND THIS AGREEMENT. Pittsburgh Singles does not grant refunds or accept cancellations of any kind, unless otherwise stated in this agreement").Once a person enrolls in our membership and pays for our service the sale is final. No right exists for that person to obtain a refund any time thereafter simply because that person changed their mind.Ms. [redacted] became a member of Pittsburgh Singles on February 18, 2014, purchasing twelve (12) introductions. To date, Ms. [redacted] has personally received five (5) introductions. Ms. [redacted] then terminated her membership and refused all further service. As stated in paragraph 3b. of the contract (which Ms. [redacted] initialed), "An introduction is made when Pittsburgh Singles provides you with a name and a phone number of another member." Additionally, paragraph 3b. ("PREFERENCES") of the contract states, "Preferences are used as a guideline for Membership services when seeking potential introductions. As introductions are based on an AS-AVAILABLE basis, introductions will be made that are as nearly compatible to a member's preferences at any given time." Further, the same clause states: "Pittsburgh Singles, its agents and assigns, do not represent the characteristics, availability, quantity or demographic make-up of its membership base at any time. You, the Member, acknowledge that the membership base changes on a daily basis due to changes in membership status, including, but not limited to: new enrollments, expired membership, members becoming involved in relationships, members traveling, and members temporarily suspending their memberships."Further, an Addendum to the contract, signed by Ms. [redacted] states the following: "...I understand that my preferences are 'preferences' and not 'requirements'. If at any time Pittsburgh Singles is unable to select an introduction who fulfills all of my preferences, Pittsburgh Singles will select an introduction who is compatible with my preferences but who may not meet all of the preferences I indicated in my profile."Having said that, Pittsburgh Singles is generous about replacing the introductions that do not result in meetings or result in very disappointing meetings. Ms. [redacted] is no exception to this generosity. Because Pittsburgh Singles aims to please, Pittsburgh Singles will work hard to find the right introductions for Ms, [redacted].Based upon an analysis of Ms, [redacted]'s membership file thusfar, it appears that Pittsburgh Singles is providing service to Ms. [redacted] precisely in the manner she contracted for. Pittsburgh Singles is performing according to the stated contract terms and services are most definitely being rendered as agreed. At Pittsburgh Singles we understand that when people become members of such a personal service they may second-guess their decision. Customer satisfaction is important to Pittsburgh Singles and looks forward to continuing to work with Ms. [redacted], should she choose to.Pittsburgh Singles has kept its side of the agreement and has remained within the parameters of the contract. Ms. [redacted] is not entitled to a refund.

Review: I filled out an application for their services on Friday evening. I googled the agency on Saturday and came to this page and saw how much they were charging for their services and realized it was something I could not afford. An agent called me on Sunday from a blocked number. I answered the phone and she stated she was Leann from pittsburgh singles. I stated I was no longer interested and hung up the phone. She called back as soon as I hung up and I let voicemail pick up. This professional agent left me a threatening voicemail that I saved. Accusing me of screwing around online, telling me I' do not care for mankind, called me mentally challenged, and stated she would call me back everyday until she can talk to me.Desired Settlement: This woman should be fired and I do not wish to receive any further contact from them.

Business

Response:

Pittsburgh Singles has read this complaint submitted by a non-member and is investigating its contents. Is there a way that a representative from Pittsburgh Singles can hear the voicemail in question?Regardless, this kind of behavior is unacceptable and not indicative of Pittsburgh Singles as a whole. We wholeheartedly apologize to Ms. [redacted] for any inconvenience or issue this has caused her and wish her the best.

Review: I paid $3,011 for a dating service that would screen individuals to find suitable matches. I sat through a lengthy interview where they gathered much personal information. They led me to believe they had many suitable persons.

Not one person had any of the qualities I was seeking. I agreed to meet with two people. One had a serious drinking problem. The other stalked me. They promised to talk to him and let him know I will call the police if I see him around again. They did not do this, nor did they call me back after they were supposed to make the call-though they said they would.

I do not believe they screened these people at all. Two others I had spoken with on the telephone had major issues of other kinds. One gave out no information at all. They refuse to give any refund. The matches they are doing may result in someone getting physically hurt. I do not believe they put any effort in to matching, and I believe they take anyone. I do believe I was robbed, and now worry about them misusing my information (like credit card) in the future.Desired Settlement: That my file is shredded and I receive a refund.

The company does indeed screen each individual that becomes a member. It is unfortunate that Ms. [redacted] had some concerns about some of her introductions- that is certainly not what Pittsburgh Singles wants to hear. We are hopeful Ms. [redacted]'s program will turn around for her and will work with her to make that happen. Ms. [redacted]'s most recent introduction was March 7, 2016. Review: High pressure sales to sign a contract at the first meeting and requiring payment in full for a two year noncancellable contract. [redacted], the salesperson, told me they had 2,000 members, all looking for serious long-term relationships. The conducted back-ground checks and indepth interviews and didn't accept everyone so their members were nearly guaranteed to be quality people. They also only accepted healthy people. She practically promised that they would find me Mr. Right within 5 matches. She asked me for preferences in men such as height, profession, etc. My preferences were a professional with a college degree (I am an accountant with a masters degree), be at least 5'10" (I'm 5'8"), between the ages of 40 and 50 (I was 48 when I signed up), and no pets (because of allergies).None of the men they matched me up with were even close to being suitable. There were 4 matches:1. Age 53, construction worker (no college), planning to retire soon and wanted someone similar, had a cat. We met and agreed we were not a good match.2. Age 45, prison guard (no college), had 2 cats. We spoke on phone and agreed no point in meeting.3. Age 46, worked midnights at a crisis center, 5'7" tall, had a cat and a dog. We spoke on phone and agreed it was a ridiculous match and no point in meeting.4. Age 54, 5'9",heavy smoker in bad health, not interested in a serious relationship, owned a cat. He was, however, a professional. We did meet but since he wasn't interested in anything longterm, there was no point in continuing a relationship.I paid $3,780 for a two year membership which began late August 2012. My last match was in November 23, 2012. In January 2013, I accepted a job offer in Michigan and contacted Two of Us, now Pittsburgh Singles, requesting a refund. They refused, saying there were no exceptions. I went to their office and demanded the address of their parent company. I wrote to the CA address but never received a response.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund but will accept $3,000 which is the pro rated amount of the remaining contract (19 months).

Response:

First and foremost, Two of Us takes every member complaint very seriously, and it concerns us that Ms. [redacted] is so unhappy.

However, Two of Us has a firm "no refund policy" (See paragraph 4a. of the contract, which states: "EXCEPT WHAT IS OTHERWISE PROVIDED HEREIN, THERE IS NO RIGHT TO RESCIND THIS AGREEMENT. Two of Us does not grant refunds or accept cancellations of any kind, unless otherwise stated in this agreement.").

Once a person enrolls in our membership and pays for our service the sale is final. No right exists for that person to obtain a refund any time thereafter simply because that person changed their mind. Unfortunately, Ms. [redacted] did move out of the service area and there is no affiliate able to provide service. As such, there is no availability for a transfer and no grounds for a refund in Pittsburgh.

Ms. [redacted] became a member of Two of Us on August 4, 2012, purchasing twelve (12) introductions. Prior to moving,

Ms. [redacted] personally received four (4) introductions - and even provided positive feedback about the last one (most recent).

As stated in paragraph 3b. of the contract (which Ms. [redacted] initialed), "An introduction is made when Two of Us provides you with a name and a phone number of another member." Additionally, paragraph 3b. ("PREFERENCES") of the contract states, "Preferences are used as a guideline for Membership services when seeking potential introductions. Further, an Addendum to the contract, signed by Ms. [redacted] states the following: "...I understand that my preferences are 'preferences' and not 'requirements'. If at any time Two of Us is unable to select an introduction who fulfills all of my preferences, Two of Us will select an introduction who is compatible with my preferences but who may not meet all of the preferences I indicated in my profile."

Having said that, Two of Us is generous about replacing the introductions that do not result in meetings or result in very disappointing meetings.

Based upon an analysis of Ms. [redacted]'s membership file thusfar, it appears that Two of Us is providing service to Ms. [redacted] precisely in the manner he contracted for. Two of Us is performing according to the stated contract terms and services are most definitely being rendered as agreed.

Two of Us has kept its side of the agreement and has remained within the parameters of the contract. Ms. [redacted] is not entitled to a refund. [redacted] The Company would be willing, however, to allow Ms. [redacted] to either sell or transfer her membership to someone else in Pittsburgh. If she is interested, please let us know.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Right in their response, Two of Us states that the contract I purchased was for twelve introductions but I have only had four and that they do not have an affiliate near where I now live to continue their service. To me this is certainly grounds for a refund! They CANNOT keep to their part of the contract!

I am also complaining about the extreme sales pressure to sign the contract to begin with. Their sales tactics alone should be investigated.

I am willing to sell my contract provided THEY find a seller. I will sell it for $3,000 which I believe is the remaining value of the contract.

If they do not resolve this issue immediately, I am going to sue them in small claims court.

Regards,

Business

Response:

Two of Us stands by its initial response.

Ms. [redacted] has no grounds to sue Two of Us as Two of Us has not broken its contract. Ms. [redacted] moved away from the service area. Two of Us was not obligated to transfer her membership to another location--especially when there is exists no such close affiliate.

The company also will not be selling Ms. [redacted]'s membership on her behalf. If she wants to, she may. Also, other members have donated their membership if there is an unused portion and have received a tax deduction. Perhaps Ms. [redacted] would be interested in this option.

We understand Ms. [redacted]'s frustration, but it is not the company's fault that she moved away from the service area.

Review: On February 4, 2013 I met with Pittsburgh Singles. It was a long initial meeting process, but everyone seemed professional. After talking with the representative and having my picture taken, the pressure sale started. The contract came out and I was shown three different price levels, which I felt were all very expensive. I resisted the sales pitch and backed the rep off. I decided if I was going to proceed, it would be on my terms. I re-negotiated the fee for service to a third of what was proposed and had them commit to 6 dates over the term of the contract. I received 5 date opportunities in total, but only met with 4. The 1st opportunity involved several telephone conversations, but no face-to-face date. I have not heard from Pittsburgh Singles since early August. I found the matches the organization made were clearly off the mark. And the men I did meet with felt the same. Overall it was a very disappointing experience for me and my dates. After reading the WTAE article on-line today about Pittsburgh Singles, I felt compelled to tell my story and warn single individuals to consider other means to meet new people. This method is very expensive and a personal let down.In my opinion, Pittsburgh Singles did not fulfill their contract requirements. When presented with a date opportunity, I knew some of their matches were not right for me, and voiced my concern or resisted the candidate. However, the rep insisted that I give the match a try. My feeling is they put people together without listening to the needs of their customers, they give very little if any thought to how two people will respond to each other, and they did not consideration the feelings of their customers.Desired Settlement: In my opinion, Pittsburgh Singles did not fulfill their contract requirements. I would like a full refund of $1,195.00

Review: I was told I would receive 6 referrals in a 18 month period matching my profile for a petite shorter woman within a 35 mile range of my home. I received one referral that I contacted who was overweight and 60 miles from my home. a second referral was sent who was fifty miles from my home and did not drive that I never met because she told me she was obese and did not leave the house.A third was sent to me that was 40 miles away who never answered my call and never called back. This I sent an e-mail to two of us telling them that the referrals were not even close and to stop wasting my time and they told me that if they did not get feedback they would not send anymore referrals.Desired Settlement: I understand that I agreed to this service and I sent them a registered letter trying to cancel within two days. I agreed, and have payed for this fraudulent service in full, but did not receive the full service that I payed for. I do not want the last 3 referrals owed to me because the first 3 were not per our agreement.I would like to be refunded a percentage of my money.

Mr. [redacted] became a member of Two of Us on November 30, 2011, purchasing six (6) introductions. To date, Mr. [redacted] has personally received three (3) introductions. Mr. [redacted]’s membership was placed on hold, accordingly to stated contract terms, on or about July 19, 2012 for his failure to submit the required written feedback. That feedback still has not been received and his membership remains on hold.

Review: I contracted this company for their dating services. I was informed that if I was to relocate, I could continue to receive dating referrals by an affiliate. It took almost a month to transfer me to an affiliate in Boston. It has been a month since the transfer. I have yet to be contacted by their Boston affiliate. I called the Pittsburgh office and the phone is not answered.Desired Settlement: Their contract stated that I would receive a date a month and that I would have access to affiliate companies if I moved. I have been on one date and have yet to receive contact information from the affiliate company. I want a refund of the $4,200.00 dollars paid to them.

Mr. [redacted]'s membership was transferred to [redacted] at [redacted] on June 6, 2013. [redacted] is not connected to Pittsburgh Singles in a formal affiliation (i.e. they are owned by separate companies), but there is an agreement to accept incoming transfers when able.

Mr. [redacted] should continue to reach out to [redacted], as Pittsburgh Singles did precisely what it said it would do - transfer the member to a local affiliate.

Review: Well were do I start! Ok I was online looking at singles sites. I must have come past the Pittsburgh Singles at some point - I started the application but quit when they were asking for too much personnel info but long and behold they called me ( on a Sunday) at that. I called back the phone number and talked to lady who asked if I could come in for a consultation with no strings attached. I agreed to meet with a counselor on my day off which is fri. I should of known that this was a scheme then when I was told I couldn't cancel my appointment and to please show up because the counselors are paid by appointments. That was a Sunday so when Fri came around I wanted to cancel but I decided to attend because I didn't wanna waste anyone time. So I went - big mistake! I met with a lady named [redacted] who was very nice. We spoke with one another for about 2 hours. She asked a lot of personal questions about myself ( which was fine) although I'm not really use to opening up to strangers! After she explained how everything works it sound good until she asked for a sign up fee. I wasn't prepared to pay for a date but the way she put it was this is not a date but guarteed process she didn't say it directly but she was kinda explaining that the men that they deal with have money because they joined this dating service. I told her I'm not sure because I like to stay within my ethnic surrounding . She asked me to be open and bascially told me that was why I was single. I agreed slightly. I really started feeling slighted and small minded. So I agreed to be adventurous and made a down payment of $100 although they wanted $400. After signing all th so I tried tlo paperwork the cost of finding a mate is over $2000. So I left and thought this over I'm not desperateDesired Settlement: I just want to cancel this service. I don't want my $100 back but I don't feel a obligation to pay $2200 and I didn't even get a chance to use this service yet. I don't even have a member # and they won't let me cancel! I would really like to know how many other clients they have feel like me! Excuse the mid spelled words this was done on my phone.

Response:

Ms. [redacted] has received a refund of the $100.00 down payment she made with her credit card and her financing contract for the remaining balance has been canceled.Ms. [redacted] is no longer considered a member of Pittsburgh Singles. We wish her the best of luck in her future.

Review: I visited Pittsburgh Singles to get initial information of their services and pricing. My appointment was September 10, 2013 at 2:30p. I met with a [redacted], filled out paperwork and had an informal conversation about the type of person I am and the type of person I would like to meet. I felt the meeting was high pressure to sign up for the service and I was told that I could use a credit card to make purchase. I was given two programs which I could consider both lasting one year each but the number of contacts sent to me would be slightly different. When I balked at the price, I was given a $600 discount on the spot. The meeting felt much like a time share type of sales program. I recall thinking that at the time. I decided to give it try. When I signed the paperwork, [redacted] had me initial the contract and specifically pointed out to me that I had three days to cancel. I remember this in great detail because I was going to ask that very question but she beat me to it stating it on her own. I went home and looked up reviews on the Internet particularly the Revdex.com. I was not happy with the reviews and the Revdex.com rating so I called them immediately to cancel which is today, September 10, 2013 at 6:45p. I was refused by a [redacted] who is a marketing person. She told me in Penna., they are not obligated to give a three day grace period and [redacted] did not tell me that. Well, [redacted] was not in the room with us and [redacted] absolutely did say I had three days to cancel. She is the one that broached the subject before I had the opportunity. I have been a member less than three HOURS and have been refused cancellation of this membership. This is impossible. I don't know exactly what the law is in Penna. regarding cancellation of contracts but I will research. [redacted] told me that because I came in of my own free will, the three day law does not apply. That doesn't make sense. We go most everywhere to do business of our own free will and can cancel within a reasonable amount of time.Desired Settlement: I want to cancel my membership and receive total credit on my Visa card. I have been a member all of three hours.

Business

Response:

First and foremost, Pittsburgh Singles takes any member complaint very seriously and the company would like to resolve this matter.

However, Ms. [redacted]'s version of how she became a member is just not true. In fact, her membership enrollment counselor, [redacted], specifically stated to her that she could NOT cancel and that there was NO right to rescind this agreement within three days. Ms. [redacted] then initialed that box indicating her understanding and acceptance of the no cancellation clause.

Pittsburgh Singles remains ready, willing, and able to provide the service Ms. [redacted] paid for, but she must accept the service.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

FURTHER: [redacted] DID say that I had three days to cancel! As stated, she broached the subject. I tried to cancel in TWO HOURS and was rejected. It was only after I saw the terrible Revdex.com rating that I called them immediately. I did not know the name of the company until my meeting with them or I would have checked their Revdex.com status and not gone to the scheduled appointment. I have not received any welcoming emails or information from Pittsburgh Singles although I was told that they would be in touch within a day or two.

This concerns me even more. If they cannot cancel a contract in two hours, how badly do they need that $3411.00? That communicates to me that business maybe isn't so good. Really? Two hours?

I am also filing a complaint with the Pennsylvania Attorney General.

Business

Response:

Pittsburgh Singles stands by its original response. There is no right to cancel this agreement and Lissa did not tell Ms. [redacted] that she could cancel within three days. The company is willing to provide service to Ms. [redacted], as contracted for.

Further: They would not allow flexibility on the contract less than two hours after I left their offices. Not, three days, but I called them less than two hours and was refused. This explains why their Revdex.com rating is "F".

To date, I have not received any services from them. Not even the welcome letter. It is not surprising they have so many dissatisfied clients.

Pittsburgh Singles has been attempting to provide service to Ms. [redacted], but she is refusing the service and not taking our calls. As for a "Welcome Letter", there isn't one that she would normally receive.

Additionally, I hope Ms. [redacted] understands that there was an F rating with the Revdex.com because of a clerical error resulting in unanswered complaints.

We are hopeful Ms. [redacted] will remember why she joined the service in the first place, and will accept the services Pittsburgh Singles is trying to provide her.

To Whom It Concerns:

I have not received any calls since [redacted] called me on the 20th of September at 4:51 p.m. as I was walking out the door to join friends in Pittsburgh. She was supposed to call me back the next day, Saturday the 21st and never did. The only other call I received was from Autumn on the 19th at 11:13 a.m. at which time I told her of my previous call to [redacted] at 6:49 p.m., on 10 September which was the evening I signed the contract. Autumn said that [redacted] never informed anyone at Pittsburgh Singles and said she was caught totally off guard by my being appalled at the low Revdex.com rating. She further promised that [redacted] would call me ASAP, which she did on the 20th. Both calls from [redacted] and Autumn were on my cell phone number. I have not refused any calls! This is blatantly untrue! I have not received any emails either although both Autumn and [redacted] said I would immediately. This email was to welcome me and give me more information. I never received any other correspondence of any nature. Let them produce what they have as I can produce through Armstrong and Verizon any calls I made and received or any that may have gone into voice mail. They have both my cell phone number and my home number. There are no other numbers for me.

Their statement above is outrageous. I have contacted the Pennsylvania Attorney General regarding this matter. How desperate are they for business that they can't rescind a contract two hours after signing? They rush you through the signature phase by quickly reading what you are initially signing, then bum rush you out the door as though they want to close. I have no idea what time they close but it was approaching 5:00 p.m. on 11 September. Further, The initial point of contact; [redacted] didn't tell them that I called two hours later to inform them due to their poor Revdex.com rating that I did not wish to do business with them. That is a very poor business practice. I can see why their rating is "F".

Moreover, if they have a rating of "F' with the Revdex.com, then they should take that matter up with the Revdex.com if it is truly a mistake. Why would they allow an incorrect rating to exist on the Revdex.com site?

This is in the hands of the Penna. Attorney General at present so they are probably the final say on the matter. If they say I must do business with these people, then I must. That being the case, if I am not 100% pleased with services provided, they aren't going to be pleased with my advertising of their services. ALL THIS FOOLISHNESS FOR $3411.00!!! Business must not be very good or they wouldn't bother holding onto someone who wants let go .... especially after only two hours. LOL!!

Respectfully,

Ruth E. Crawford-[redacted]

First and foremost, Pittsburgh

Singles takes every member complaint very seriously, and it concerns us that Ms.

[redacted] was so unhappy. However, Pittsburgh Singles

has a firm ''no refund policy'' (See paragraph 4a. of the contract, which

states: ''EXCEPT WHAT IS OTHERWISE PROVIDED HEREIN, THERE IS NO RIGHT TO

RESCIND THIS AGREEMENT. Pittsburgh Singles does not grant refunds or

accept cancellations of any kind, unless otherwise stated in this

agreement.''). Once a person enrolls in our membership and pays for our

service the sale is final. No right exists for that person to obtain a

refund any time thereafter simply because that person changed their mind. Ms. [redacted] became a member of Pittsburgh

Singles on August 23, 2015, purchasing nine (9) introductions. To date,

Ms. [redacted] has personally received one (1) introduction. Ms. [redacted] has refused all service from

Pittsburgh Singles, immediately requesting a refund. Pittsburgh Singles has tried on numerous

occasions to speak with Ms. [redacted] about her dissatisfaction, but Ms. [redacted] will

not return the telephone call. As stated in paragraph 3b. of the contract (which Ms. [redacted] initialed), ''An

introduction is made when Pittsburgh Singles provides you with a name and a

phone number of another member.'' Additionally, paragraph 3b.

(''PREFERENCES'') of the contract states, ''Preferences are used as a guideline

for Membership services when seeking potential introductions. As

introductions are based on an AS-AVAILABLE basis, introductions will be made

that are as nearly compatible to a member's preferences at any given

time.'' Further, the same clause states: ''Pittsburgh Singles, its

agents and assigns, do not represent the characteristics, availability,

quantity or demographic make-up of its membership base at any time. You,

the Member, acknowledge that the membership base changes on a daily basis due

to changes in membership status, including, but not limited to: new

enrollments, expired membership, members becoming involved in relationships,

members traveling, and members temporarily suspending their

memberships.'' Further, an Addendum to the

contract, signed by Ms. [redacted] states the following: ''...I understand that my

preferences are 'preferences' and not 'requirements'. If at any time Pittsburgh

Singles is unable to select an introduction who fulfills all of my preferences,

Pittsburgh Singles will select an introduction who is compatible with my

preferences but who may not meet all of the preferences I indicated in my

profile.'' Having said that, Pittsburgh

Singles is generous about replacing the introductions that do not result in

meetings or result in very disappointing meetings. Ms. [redacted] is no

exception to this generosity. Because Pittsburgh Singles aims to please, Pittsburgh

Singles will work hard to find the right introductions for Ms. [redacted]. Based upon an analysis of Ms.

[redacted]'s membership file thusfar, it appears that Pittsburgh Singles is

providing service to Ms. [redacted] precisely in the manner he contracted for. Pittsburgh Singles is performing according to

the stated contract terms and services are most definitely being rendered as

agreed. At Pittsburgh Singles we

understand that when people become members of such a personal service they may

second-guess their decision. Customer satisfaction is important to Pittsburgh

Singles, and our staff looks forward to continuing to work with Ms. [redacted] in

the process of finding that right match. Pittsburgh Singles has kept

its side of the agreement and has remained within the parameters of the

Response:

Review: I had come across Pittsburgh Singles on the internet. I was contacted by a representative, who set an appointment for me on June 12, 2014, in GreenTree, PA. I went to the meeting, I was given forms to fill out on what type of guy I was attracted to, his personality and religious beliefs. I did the same for myself. Then I met with the counselor from the organization. She told me that it's not safe to date, and I need Pittsburgh Singles because each guy is screened with background check and that I need to start dating now because I am 30 and don't want to wait too long. She asked me about my financial situation. I told her I take care of my mom. I don't have a lot of money. She told me that it cost $4,000 for their services and I told her there is no way for me to afford that. She told me that she liked me and she could see what she could. So she left and went to talk with someone else in the organization. When she came back she had a contract and told me to sign all these papers and she said she got me a deal, however she didn't tell me how much I was paying just the membership fee which was $400.00. Then she said I would be paying $50.00 a month for a couple of months. Then she basically pushed me out the door. When I got home I was able to read the contract and it said I couldn't cancel the membership and the total amount of 4 introductions is $1,313.14 plus $400.00. I have had only 2 introductions and neither one of the men are anything like what I had asked for. I didn't even met them. One only wanted to date Asian women so we didn't even speak, just enough for him to tell me that. The other man was about to be homeless, because he couldn't pay rent. So I didn't meet him either. I am unsatisfied with the services and I have told Pittsburgh Singles I no longer want to be a member. They have use misleading, information to prey on those who might not be emotionally stable about dating and relationship. They also are not trueful about how much you will be paying for their incompetence.Desired Settlement: I want my contract terminated and all fees voided. I don't want to pay for services, that is not up to the expectation that I was lead to believe. I will not find what I am looking for with Pittsburgh Singles. Pittsburgh Singles was misleading in all aspects especially, about how much I would be required to pay. I was not told that there was any types of loan or financing when I signed up with Pittsburgh Singles.

Review: They did not provide the services they had promised during the initial meeting when I signed up for the service. They did not match me with people that met my criterion. They were to be a college graduate, taller than me (I'm 5'10"), I wanted them to be around my age 54 at the time and stretched it to 50-60 but I didn't want past those ages and within 50 miles--easy enough to meet during the work week. The first introduction was a 49 yr. old male, lived in Latrobe, not a college graduate. The next was a 61-yr old man who lived in Blairsville, who had already had a heat attach and a stroke so he wasn't a young 61 and basically over the criterion age. The next introduction was another 61 year old man who had a stroke and was not a college; so again, didn't meet the criterion and was not a young 61 so not near my age. They basically matched me with anyone that was as tall as me or taller and didn't meet any of the other criterion. Also, when signing you have to sign a contract that says no refunds. The price of $3,700 was very high but I thought if it provided better service and better matches then it would be worth it and I would want or need a refund. It also takes quite a few weeks to even get the next introduction when the current one doesn't work out. I would never have even bothered meeting any of these men but I was so discouraged with the way they matched us anyway, I figured just get it over with. It's not right that they promise a better way of matching and then don't really do that. If the price was a smaller amount, then it wouldn't be such a rip off.Desired Settlement: I want my money back... $3,700. They can credit my charge account, the same one I used to purchase their service.

I am not the only one complaining, the first man I was introduced to and only talked to on the phone said his matches weren't within the miles nor were they anyone he'd ever date. His name was [redacted] and we talked about filing a complaint to Revdex.com. The same with the second guy, [redacted] I had talked to and met. was dissatisfied as well and said he feels they just don't have the numbers of singles to be promising the types of matches they do during their sales pitch.

Review: This company claims to offer quality people to match one with for the purposes of finding someone for long term dating &/or marriage. They promise to match you well, that they have wonderful candidates to match one with. That is the such a lie. I have been a client of theirs since Dec 2013. Every 6 weeks I get a match and the one is worse than the last. I gave them a list of what I was seeking in a mate. Professional, educated, independent, likes to ball room dance, non-smoker, financially stable. Well, I got a laborer, someone looking to hook up, a stoner (literally - dumb as a stump), and a list of other poor choices. I called to complain and ask why they would have selected someone like that for me. Poor answers. Look at the contract. They don't promise you anything. NOTHING AT ALL.

My advise. Sear Clear of these con artists.

What do I want from them? It would be nice to get some money back, but I know that is unrealistic. I have no legal recourse. I just want to get the word out to others to stay away from this unreputable business. I wouldn't even classify this as a business. It's a joke. I could do a better job of matchmaking.Desired Settlement: Get this business closed down. Get the word out to avoid them like the plaque.

Review: After answering an online questionnaire, Pittsburgh-singles.com contacted me and asked a series of questions about my background. I was then invited to come in for an interview with an independent "psychologist" who would assess my personality and determine my eligibility for their program. To me, this was a major point of difference from the other programs out there. At the end of September 2013, I went to their [redacted] office, where I was interviewed by [redacted] (not an independent psychologist) who told me how "excited" she would be to have me be a part of their program and how she had many matches in mind. She continued to ask me very personal questions with had me feeling very emotional. She then asked to see my ID, all major credit cards I had and my checkbook. Why I gave her this information, I have no idea. She then inquired about my income, my debt and my monthly expenses. She finally came forward with a membership for 2 years of $152 a month. A few weeks after joining, I had yet to hear anything after a match. Fittingly, after the call, I am matched up with a "41 year old' man. I went on facebook.com to search him under his phone number. I was shocked to see he looked to be in his 50's. We had zero similar interests and something about him appeared to be off. In other words, I would have been scared to have gone on a date with him. This clearly was a match which included no thought. After voicing my concern, I said "no hard feelings" and I would prefer my membership be canceled. Of course, there are no cancelations. A month later, after calling to follow up, I receive another match. This did not work out. Three weeks after providing feedback on this date I am told I have to wait 2 months for another match. I strongly feel this company misrepresented themselves.Desired Settlement: No refund of what I paid so far is requested. Please just cancel my membership and part ways. The money I am spending would be put to better use to join a cooking class or donate to charity.

At this time, Ms. [redacted]'s membership is on hold because she stopped making her monthly payments. To demonstrate good faith, Pittsburgh Singles will cancel her remaining payments and cancel her membership. Alternatively, if Ms. [redacted] would like to resume using the service, she would have to resume her monthly payments as well. However, Pittsburgh Singles has a firm "no refund policy" (See paragraph 4a. of the contract, which stales: "EXCEPT WHAT IS OTHERWISE PROVIDED HEREIN, THERE IS NO RIGHT TO RESCIND THIS AGREEMENT. Pittsburgh Singles does not grant refunds or accept cancellations of any kind, unless otherwise slated in this agreement.").Once a person enrolls in our membership and pays for our service the sale is final. No right exists for that person to obtain a refund any time thereafter simply because (hat person changed their mind.Ms. [redacted] became a member of Pittsburgh Singles on September 27, 2013, purchasing nine (9) introductions. To date, Ms. [redacted] has personally received seven (7) introductions. Service ceased when she quit making her monthly payments. As stated in paragraph 3b. of the contract (which Ms. [redacted] initialed), "An introduction is made when Pittsburgh Singles provides you with a name and a phone number of another member." Additionally, paragraph 3b. ("PREFERENCES") of the contract states, ’’Preferences are used as a guideline for Membership services when seeking potential introductions. As introductions are based on an AS-AVAILABLE basts, inlroductions will be made that are as nearly compatible to a member's preferences at any given time." Further, the same clause states: "Pittsburgh Singles, its agents and assigns, do not represent the characteristics, availability, quantity or demographic make-up of its membership base at any time. [redacted] states the following: "...I understand that my preferences are preferences' and not 'requirements'. Because Pittsburgh Singles aims to please, Pittsburgh Singles will work hard to find the right introductions for Ms. [redacted].Based upon an analysis of Ms. [redacted]'s membership file thusfar, it appears that Pittsburgh Singles is providing service to Ms. [redacted] precisely in the manner he contracted for. Pittsburgh Singles is performing according to the stated contract terms and services are most definitely being rendered as agreed. At Pittsburgh Singles we understand that when people become members of such a personal service they may second-guess their decision. Customer satisfaction is important to Pittsburgh Singles.Pittsburgh Singles has kept its side of the agreement and has remained within the parameters of the contract. Ms. [redacted] is not entitled to a refund. As previously stated, Pittsburgh Singles will cancel Ms. [redacted]’s remaining payments and she and the company can part ways. Alternatively, if Ms. [redacted] would like to resume using the service, she would have to resume her monthly payments as well.

Quite disappointed! I have been a member for a month now and have only had one "match." Which amounted to a few texts from an anonymous person who then discontinued communication. At no time did I actually meet this person over a cup of coffee or drinks.

Then when I called Pittsburgh Singles to report on this I have been consistently being led to voicemail only. I have left several messages and have received no callbacks.

It is no stretch for me to start to suspect that I have been scammed here!

Beware!

Review: I joined Pgh Singles on 4/6/2014. I paid $ 3495.00 for their service I am/ was guaranteed 12 "referrals". I have had 1, and he did not meet my requirements. I was also told by a few women that the men are charged a lot less, say 800.00..I find this shameful/ a scam. They claim to have " special match makers who physically look over your profile and carefully find you someone.I have complained to them but have gotten no where and I believe I am not the only one to report them.If I can not get a full refund then half would be ok.They prey on people who want to meet someone but fall short of what they are telling us.I would appreciate any in put. Thank you [redacted]Desired Settlement: if not my full amount then half.they are scam artists who are taking advantage of the public.
