PosiGen, Inc. Reviews (57)

I had panels installed on my home, mid 2015. I was online by end of October 2015. In November, I received a call from my parish saying that the system didn't pass inspection, but yet Posigen turned it on anyway. I discussed it with my representative from Posigen, and never gat an response. Then in January, I received a call from an electrician who state they were coming out to bring the system up to par, so that they could get approval from the parish to turn the system on. I came home one day and found electrical coils running in front of my house almost in reach of everyone, and tacked into my aluminum under hangs. I also had a problem with the thermostat that they installed with their so called efficiency upgrade, I am so tired of this company, and all they continue to tell me is you signed the paper, so now I'm obligated. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

Review: We purchased solar panels and they were installed in January 2015. It is now July 2015, and they are still not working. I call just about every 2 weeks to check on the status. The first visit a serviceman came to switch on the breaker and said it was now working. After two months of no savings on my electric bill, I call Posigen and they said that my panels were not activated. A month later a serviceman comes out and says they are activated. Numerous phone calls and months later they discover a breaker is not good and they come change it out. As of now they still are not activated. It is very frustrating, since I was hoping to save money during the peak summer months.Desired Settlement: I would like these panels fixed and I would like a credit. I have been paying my electricity bill in full, plus my solar panel loan plus interest.

Dear Sir or Madam. We have reviewed the complaint and have sent a technician out to investigate the situation. We were asked by the customer to not work on the system until they returned from vacation. Upon notification of their return we sent out our technician. Due to the nature of the issue, it will require a licensed electrician to repair. We are working with out subcontractor to schedule. We will be also be reaching out to the customer today to obtain copies of their utility bills for the last several months. We will utilize these to determine a reasonable settlement amount for the customer. Please let me know if you require any additional information.Best Regards,[redacted]Chief Customer OfficerPosiGen

Review: I have more than one complaint, first, I have three or more roof leaks caused by the install of solar panels on my roof, that they were notified months ago about. they have been by numerous occassion to check out the issues, but still no action taken. I have three areas on two of my bedroom ceiling that are stained and molded because of the roof leak, plus any unseen mold and damage caused by this issue. these roof leaks may be or will cause health issues.... second, I signed a contract for the panels and entergy efficenties back in 2013, and still they have not completed the work in the contract, but have begun billing me for those services. I have been in contact with them since the begining on all issues, and I feel I have been pushed to the side, and ignored.Desired Settlement: I am about to the point with posigen to have them remove the panels, replace my entire roof felt and shingles,to match, repair all damages caused by the panels, wood, sheetrock, insulation, mold etc. repair all damages caused by the install of the solar panels, (contractor of my choice). and have it where I can choose another company to work with, with same tax credits I had back then, if I choose to. this is completely unprofessional to have this going this long,I gave them many chances...

Response:

Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to respond to Mr. [redacted] complaint filed on 5-3-2016 with the ID #11425990. I will start with his first issue related to the leaks caused by his solar panels. We first opened this complaint on 12-29-15. Our technician went to the home to review and determined that the leak that we could access was not related to the solar installation. There was an additional leak that we could not identify. We made several attempts to contact Mr. [redacted] following our findings. We left several voicemails with no return calls. We finally received a return call from the customer on 2-1-2016. We immediately returned the call and re-opened the roof leak case. The customer stated he was only available for us to come to his home after 4:00pm and on weekends. We scheduled an appointment for 2-11-2016. Customer stated that he was unaware of the appointment and rescheduled for 2-15-2016. On 2-15-2016 the customer contacted our technician and requested a reschedule to 2-18-2016. When our technician arrived, Mr. [redacted] was not at home. We left a door hanger for him and came back to the office. We subsequently received an email from the customer on 3-11-16 demanding that we come a fix the issue. We sent another technician on 3-14-16 who determined that only one of the leaks was in question. The other leaks were not related to our installation. The one in question is an issue because we would have to cut away the sheetrock to determine if this is a solar related issue. The customer additionally had issues with the Energy Efficiency (EE) work performed. He had a special deal with a previous member of management to have work performed that is normally not within our purview. It is very expensive and the EE team was of the opinion that this would replace the standard EE work to be done. This was not Mr. D[redacted] understanding. We have agreed to perform a new EE Audit and perform the standard EE measures that will fulfill his contract. When we called him to perform the audit, he declined stating that he did not want this done until we resolved the leak issue. We have tried in good faith to work through the issues that Mr. [redacted] has brought to our attention. We would be willing to engage a home inspection company to review the home and determine if the leaks were in fact caused by the solar installation. If they find that they were, we will pay for the inspection as well as all costs to repair the damage associated with our panels. Additionally, if they find that it is not related to the solar installation, we will still pay for the inspection; but the customer will be responsible to repair his own home. We are also willing to re-audit the home for EE upgrades as long as Mr. [redacted] allows us access to the home. The final issue of payment. We have deferred Mr. D[redacted] payments from the very beginning. He has not made a single payment to us for the system as of 5-1-2016. If this agreement is not to Mr. D[redacted] liking, the other option will be to remove the system at no charge. We will repair the roof and any related damage associated with the solar panels at that time. We will not attempt to be reimbursed for the EE work that was performed in the customers home. He will be required to sign a lease termination agreement and a mutual indemnification agreement.I would ask that the customer contact his Account Manager to discuss which option he would prefer and how we can schedule whatever needs to be done. Please let me know if there are any additional questions. Best Regards, Barbara E. H[redacted]Chief Customer OfficerPosiGen

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 11425990, and I rejected their response not the course of actions they recommended. first, I had a tech come out to my home and did find evidence that the install of the solar panels were to the cause of the leaks. he removed some panels and caulked the boots in one area, because water was being blown under boot and getting under shingles and leaking from the nails under the shingles. which now has started leaking again.. other area he determined that the ripped shingles during install was the cause of the other leak, and I was told he was going to set up to have a roofer come out and replace that area of shingles, so I waited... no response from company. after a while I got another tech to come out again, and had full access to my home, determined that the leaks were caused by the solar panel install, and a roofer would be necessary to repair the roof. I kept in constant contact with that tech. during the same time frame I was contacted almost daily by customer service about my lease payment and ee payment, that was never completed,, and wanted me to sign a deferment on a contract that was never fulfilled, and having roof leaks. and I informed them each time I want my leaks fixed, they told me that someone will get back to me about that, never did. After many conversations with the second tech that came out, we scheduled an appointment to meet with the roofer at my home, we did and we all decided the course of action, and the tech informed me that he would have customer service contact me to schedule the repairs to be done...so I waited again, this was now in april, no one ever called to schedule the appointment. I contacted the tech again, and he told me that he repuested that customer service to call me, and had no answers beyond that. I feel that his hands were tied by the company, and he couldn't go any futher. my next step was to contact ultilties commission, which recommended that I start by contacting the Revdex.com first, so here we are now. Second, about the e.e's, and "special deal", I first signed a contract for solar panels back in 2013, after that everything went down hill... it took months to have a answer on a simple question, how will the wiring be run from the roof to my panel, and no one could give me direct answer. whild that wwas going on I was receiving calls on how I liked my panels, and if there was anything else that the company could do for me? I didn't even have the panels installed yet! so after months of phone calls, visits by employees of the company, I finally got in touch with the person that ms.barbara was referring to, " previous member of management" that no longer works for posigen. after telling him the story and problems ive been having, before my anels were even installed, his words, he said, "I am ashamed and at a loss of words", he wanted me to stick to the intall and offered me gift, for all the problems ive been having, so that's where that came from, he assured me that gift had nothing to do with the e.e's, it was completely separate. After finally getting the panels installed, a e.e specialist called and scheduled an appointement to do the audit, that was completed, and after decussing what needs to be done, we determined, light bulbs to be changed to leds, inside and out, can light covers, attic steps to be insulated, hot water heater to be wraped, and kitchen stove hood to be vented out of roof. he took all model numbers, count of what was needed, said he would contact me, and he did. he said he ordered everything and when it came in he would call me and schedule an appointment, so I waited..no one ever called......so here we are now. now ms. Barbara wants to schedule ANOTHER ee audit, why? seems to me that she tring to push me, irriate me into declining the ee's. but at this point I am more concerned about handling the roof issue, before going forward with anything else. I feel I have been more than patient.

Response:

Dear Sir or Madam.I am very sorry that the customer is not satisfied with my response. Regardless of how or why we have gotten to this point; I believe the offer that I am making is reasonable. I would ask that the customer consider meeting me at my office (with his Account Manager and the technician of whom he wrote) to discuss how we can come to a compromise on his concerns. My prior offer remains. If the customer would like us to send him a list of upgrades we can do to honor the original EE contract without performing a new audit we will be happy to do that. I cannot provide him some of the items on his request list, as some have been removed from our current program. We can also utilize a third party home inspection company to determine the cause of the leaks. I will allow the customer to select the company and I will pay the bill. When it comes to leaks, this is the best way to determine who is responsible for the damage. The alternative is to terminate his contracts, remove the system and REPAIR the roof as he agreed to when he signed his contract with us. The customer's account manager will reach out to him within the next 24 hours to discuss. I hope that we can come to some mutually agreeable compromise. I have reviewed the response made by the business, and found that the phone conversation between Mr and Mrs n[redacted] and I, and what they sent to the Revdex.com, parts are inaccurate, I will disclose if need be. I have attached a letter they sent me, on Saturday June 11th 2016. I feel that is my option, so I feel I will take it. I am unfamiliar with a hold harmless agreement, and also have other items to iron out, and then maybe we can through this, and I can my roof issue resolved.

Regards,

Review: It was stated they would perform the insulation in my attic in order for the system to be effective, they also indicated in the contract that once the solar panels were involved, Entergy would come out and perform the necessary switch over, my roof now has damage and my ceiling from the roof leak. I have been calling them for the last two months to have the system properly installed and completed which has not been completed as of yet.Desired Settlement: I would like the panels removed, my roof replaced and compensated for the damages to my ceiling and the Entergy panels removed and the repair to those control box areas removed.

We have reviewed the customer situation and have the following response:We communicate at several times during our process that the complete installation of the Solar PV and EE can take up to 4-6 months. While in most cases it is not that long; there are times when municipalities or other outside parties delay the timing. In this instance, we applied for the solar permit on 3-11-15 and did not receive the document from the city until 5-11-15. We immediately requested the inspection and now are awaiting the results. The next step in this process will be getting the net meter from the utility; which will also not be in our control. We will work with the customer through the process and try and make it as smooth as possible. We have also requested a date from the customer to complete the Energy Efficiency work. We have agreed upon Friday, June 5, 2015. For the concern relating to the roof/ceiling leak. We sent a technician out on 5-21-15 to analyze the problem. He determined that the Air Conditioning pan was leaking and causing the damage in the home. This is not solar related and is something the customer will need to address. At this point all outstanding issues have been either addressed or scheduled. Please let me know if there are any additional questions.Best Regards,[redacted]Chief Customer OfficerPosiGen

Review: On August 26, 2013, Green Grants contracted with KDH Solar ("KDH") to install solar panel/systems at my residence. On the aforementioned date, KDH sent their employees out to my home to install solar panel/systems. Not only did the employees use my equipment, when the employees left my residence, they left with items from my yard (lawn mower and weed eater). I contact Green Grants, KDH as well as the police and filed a complaint. I sent various letters requesting the return of my items or for them to replace it. To date I have been unable to resolve this matter. I have asked them out of good faith to return or replace my items as they did not properly screen their employees before they sent them outDesired Settlement: I would like for my lawn mower valued at $350 and weed eater valued at $150 to be returned or replaced out of good faith.

To Whom it May Concern:

Review: I have contacted PosiGen repeatedly with concerns that my solar panels are not producing any power due to my light bills from Entergy remain high. Posigen said they would have someone call me back to address my issues. No call backs ever happen. The recent commercials show PosiGen customers getting $30 & $40 light bills. I think this is False Advertising !!! I've asked repeatedly for someone to come out & check the panels to see if they are working & I never get a call back. If I had a chance to have the panels removed I would !!! THERE IS NO SERVICE AFTER THE SALE !!! The bills come on time. I wish the service was as punctual !!!Desired Settlement: I think if the panels don't produce what PosiGen claim I should not have to pay the $60.00 a month until I see results.

Review: I would like to file a complaint about the customer service of Posigen Solar Panels. My mother and I signed up for solar service originally in January 2013. The panels worked for 1 month and have not since. They were re-installed on again in November 2013 and did not work properly. New ones installed January 2014 (yes 1 year ago) and do not work. I have made several calls to [redacted] the original facility. As of today she cannot give me a ship date on the replacement panels to make the unit work. The original company has been purchased by Posigen, however Posigen says they were unable to help me because this is one of their acquired companies I feel like each is passing the buck!I am extremely aggrivated. I have been calling these people since 2013. They had no problems taking my tax credit for the panels, but have not provided any service. Please help!Desired Settlement: I would like working solar panels installed on my home. It has been 2 years and I need this issue resolved ASAP!

Review: Posigen installed a solar system on or about 7 March 2014. Entergy installed the new meter on or about 6/1/14. And Posigen activated the solar system on or about 6/15/14.About 10 days ago, I called in and reported that the solar panel was showing an error and I was directed not to touch the system until a technician showed up. I also inquired about the capability of me tracking my energy generation online as it was offered to me. The customer service representative told me that I could not use that service until the system was working properly. It has been more than ten days since I called, and no response yet.Desired Settlement: Send a technician right away. To sign the contract you took about 24 hours to show up to my house with a contract to sign. How come you don't have technicians to show up at least within 48-72 hours which is reasonable. Good thing that I still have entergy, otherwise I would be without power for 10 days.

Review: I am an ex employee of this company I was let go in December 2014 however this has nothing to do with my employment or me being dismissed from this company. I have no ill feelings towards this company if I did I would have never referred people to them. This is a solar energy company. They pay a referral fee for every customer that is referred to them promising a $300 referral fee for every customer that is referred and ultimately approved.Over the last several months I have referred several customers to salesman John L[redacted] and they were approved and the solar systems have been since installed. I have spoken to John L[redacted] on multiple occasions in which he assured me the referrals have been submitted and the gift cards for those referrals have been requested and were received 2 weeks ago in the office. I have received nothing after multiple, emails, text messages and phone calls they just flat out refuse to acknowledge me even though John assures me I will be getting the gift cards for the referrals, they owe me $900.00.Desired Settlement: I am requesting delivery of the gift cards that have been promised to me for months now.

Response:

Dear Sir or Madam. Upon receiving the rejection to our prior response, we reviewed the accounts in further detail. Our records currently show that no amounts are due to this customer. Our rewards program pays out varying amounts for customer referrals, but no rewardsare paid out unless and until the customer who was referred to us signs up for our products and an installation of solar panels is completed on their home. After an exhaustive search of our records, we have located only three referrals that may have been provided by Ms. [redacted] For the first referral, the referred customer actually claims that they were referred by someone other than Ms. [redacted] Despite thisfact, PosiGen has provided her with $300 in rewards for that referral. The second referral has not yet been installed, and thus Ms. [redacted] is not yet eligible for rewards for that referral. If the installation for that referral is eventually completed, we will provide Ms. [redacted] with $100 in rewards, which was the maximum available under the referral program at the time the referral was made. Finally, the third referral we received from Ms. [redacted] stated that they were not interested in our products, and therefore Ms.[redacted] is not eligible for any rewards regarding that referral. We sent the $300 rewards gift card for the first referral to Ms. [redacted] on June 24, 2015 and asked that she inform us no later than close of business on Friday, June 26, 2015 of any additional referrals for which she thought she might be entitled to rewards. As of today, July 6, 2015, we have not received any further correspondence from Ms. [redacted], nor any indication that she can provide any information regarding any referrals she made to PosiGen under its rewards program other than the three described above. At this time, PosiGen has doneeverything in its power to review its records and ensure that Ms. [redacted] hasbeen given credit for all qualifying referrals she has made, we have providedher with rewards for referrals even though the underlying customers haveindicated that someone else was responsible for the referral, and we have givenMs. [redacted] an opportunity to provide us with the names of any additionalreferrals for which she feels she is entitled to rewards. As such,PosiGen believes it has gone above and beyond to resolve this matter. Please let me know if you haveany additional questions.why here...

I don't accept the above response they are still stating that I am not entitled to these referrals so until they accept full responsibility I will not accept their response! Review: PosiGen Solar Solutions at [redacted], and I went into an agreement to install solar pane. ls on my house. We agreed that I would lease them for $65.00 a month. They agreed that they would maintain them for 20 years at no cost to me. If I for any reason was not satisfied with the Panels I could cancel the contract and they would come and get the panels. They took all of my personal information (ss#, birthday, etc.) for credit check. The process was after my credit check, they would assess my roof for installation of the Panels. After the signing of all the paper work a week later a lady called and told me that my application had been approved and assessment contractor would assess my roof, after another week she called again to make sure my address was what she was looking at through their GPS system. A week after that she called and told me that they could not install the panel because my roof was to steep of a grade to install the panels, which I didn't understand because other home with same style of roof had solar panel on them. My concern is that now they have all my personal information. They can do what ever they want with it. They can even file for the Gov. rebate on the solar panels like if they had installed them. Other companies have had no problem installing solar panels on these roof types and I fear that this is a scam and needs to be checked out. Another company that is involved is:Sunlight Powers My Home III, LLCc/o PosiGen of Louisiana, LLC[redacted] Product_Or_Service: Solar PanelsDesired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

I am very concerned about the perception of the customer. We strive to provide excellent customer service and try frequently to stay in touch to assure the customer that they are moving through the process. I want to guarantee the customer two things, 1. This is not a scam. We have successfully installed over 5,000 residential systems in the State of Louisiana. 2. His information is secure with us. There are a limited number of people that have access to SSN#'s, Credit Scores, etc. (I don't even have access to this information).I am concerned about the process and about the statement that others with similar roof lines have had successful installations. I will be following up with our operations team and will be responding in more detail within the timeframe of the Revdex.com process. As soon as I complete the research necessary, I will personally reach out to the customer to discuss his options. My apologies to the customer for the breakdown in the process. Although the business had a good response on promising what they will do, I have no idea if they have done this. They say they have disposed all of my information ( I don't know if they have or not), they say they will reach out to me ( I have not heard from anyone). They said that my roof was to steep, it would be hard to sell their product to any new home owner in this area, because almost all new home in this area have this type of roof. Review: On July 31, 2013 we signed lease. Solar panels and other equipment was installed rather quickly, however we have been waiting for the inspection that is required before Entergy can install their meter. I also think that someone from PosiGen should have contacted me by now.Desired Settlement: I would like to know when, if ever this project will be completed. Review: I have been complaining about this company since they came in December 2012. The salesperson lied and told me that with their solar panels, I would have a bill so cheap that my local electric company would be giving me money back. The last three bills have been a nightmare. I have never paid so high electric bills in my life, not to mention a 100.00 connection fee that was no mentioned by the salesperson. I called this company over and over to come back and take their solar panels off my house. I would do it myself but it's linked to my electric company (which I did not know) and if I take them off, I lose electricity. They have been nothing but liars and my bills are outrages. I hate to see the next one.Desired Settlement: I want everything Green Grants put on my house off. I also want my 100.00 back that they lied to me about.

Business

Response:

Dear Revdex.com,

Review: Dear Mr. J[redacted]:As per our conversation, I am sending you copies of all bills from the 2012 through present 10/2014. I have also included three months of bills before the installation of the Solar Panels; and a billing analysis of the year 2013 to present date. In our conversation I stated that [redacted] came to my home to discuss our lack of confidence in the production and the output of the panels. During the time of 2013 our KWh remained exceptionally high despite the production to the solar panels and any measures taken by us (insulations; corking; reduction in energy use) to reduce our KWh usage. Mr. [redacted] showed concern because there should have been some reduction in our usage without having to make changes to our daily routine. Mr. [redacted] stated he would look into placement of a larger unit on our home; and also a reassessment of the panels placement on our roof. Mr. [redacted] also stated he would have the billing credited until the investigation was complete. Now I must say I have not followed up with Mr. [redacted] at this time, but I plan today. Thank you for your concern in this matter. If there are any questions, please feel free to call.I have sent and spoke to various people at Posigen. Nothing has been resolved at this time concerning the product and the lack of production of the solar panels. Promises and also have been made and none of those promises have been acted upon. I have copies of all energy bills. There has not been any significant reduction in KWH which justifies me paying for a lease of the panel plus an electric bill.Desired Settlement: I want either total replacement of the solar panels with a larger unit or a complete release from the lease and payment for the panels.

We have spoken to the customer about her options. Due to the size of her roof, we are unable to provide a larger system. We made an appointment to meet with her and explain her savings that she postponed until after the holiday. We will either make sure the customer is happy with the savings she is seeing or remove the panels at no charge to the customer and release her from any further obligations. Please let me know if there are any additional questions. Best Regards,[redacted]Chief Customer OfficerPosiGen , Inc.

Dear Sir or Madam, The customer was installed in December 2014 and activated in February 2015. Her Energy Efficiency Upgrade (EE) was completed in January 2015. In June, we received a call from the customer stating that she was unsatisfied with the EE upgrade. She specifically stated that her power strip was not what she was told it would be. We sent her another one within a week of her call. She then asked for a breakdown of her EE. At the time, our records show that we offered to defer her payments and provide a $10 write down of her lease. We did not hear back from her.

As of today, we have received one payment from the customer. We sent someone to disconnect the system and that is when the complaint was submitted. We would be happy to remove the system and terminate the lease with the customer at no charge. If she would contact her Account Manager we will move forward with the process.
