Review: I BOUGHT THIS REVITALIZE PITTSBURGH PAINT TO DO MY DECK AS IT WAS SUPPOSED TO LAST FOR YRS. I HAVE A FAIRLY LARGE DECK ALMOST 500 SQ FT. THE 1ST DAY I HAD FRIENDS OVER AND WE GOT THE 1ST LAYER ON. A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER WHEN I KNEW IT WAS DRY..I FILLED IN ALL THE CRACKS AND LITTLE BY LITTLE DID THE SPINDLES AND THE REST OF THE DECK. WELL IT LOOKED REALLY NICE WHEN I WAS FINISHED, I WAS VERY PLEASED AT THE WAY IT LOOKED. WELL IN MARCH WHEN SOME OF THE SNOW WENT AWAY I LOOKED AT MY DECK AND I THOUGHT GEE IT LOOKS LIKE A BIG BLISTER ON MY DECK. WELL YES THAT IS WHAT IT WAS..I PICKED THE BLISTERED AND A WHOLE STRIP OF THE REVITALIZE CAME WITH IT. THE MORE SNOW THAT WENT AWAY THE MORE MY DECK CLEARED AND MY WHOLE DECK LOOKED LIKE THAT. I WAS SHOCKED TO SEE ALL MY HARD WORK WAS PEELING UP. SO I WENT TO [redacted] AND THEY GAVE ME A COMPLAINT FORM TO FILL OUT. I EMAILED IT TO THE GUY AND HE SAID DO U HAVE PICTURES...;I SAID YES I DO..I ALSO HAVE MY RECEIPTS. SO I HAD TO EMAIL HIM PICTURES ALONG WITH MY RECEIPTS AND HE EMAILED ME BACK AND SAID THEY WOULD GIVE ME $400 BACK TO COVER THE COST OF MY PAINT. I ASKED HIM WHO WAS GOING TO REPAIR MY DECK. HE SAID THAT PART ISNT COVERED..I SAID WELL MY DECK LOOKS LIKE [redacted] AND SOMEONE IS GOING TO HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS.. I EMAILED HIM BACK AND SAID THA T $5000.00 WOULD BE MORE LIKE IT..HE SAID ALL HE COULD GIVE ME WAS$1040.00. I SAID THAT DONT HARDLY PAY FOR PAINT TO BE PUT BACK ON MUCH LESS TAKE THIS MESS OFF. AFTER I SPENT LOTS OF $$$$ TO GET THIS CRAP OFF, I RENTED A FLOOR SANDER, A PRESSURE WASHER SOME STUFF U PUT ON AND IT WAS SUPPOSED TO LIFT IT OFF..NO WAY...I SANDED THE WHOLE SUMMER WITH VERY LITTLE HELP..I TOLD HIM I HAD 189 HRS IN AND SOME FRIENDS HAD 40 HRS OR SO.. I ASKED FOR $5500.00 AND HE SAID I CAN ONLY OFFER $1040. I SAID ILL SEE U IN COURT...Desired Settlement: I WOULD LIKE MY $5500.00 I SPENT IN MY TIME AND PRODUCTS TO GET MY DECK TO LOOK NEW AGAIN..I CANT BELIEVE THIS STUFF IS STILL ON THE MARKET. IT IS AWFUL STUFF AND IT HAS PLENTY OF VERY BAD REVIEWS..SO IM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT WOULD LIKE THERE MONEY REPLACED.

Gentlemen:
Re: RESCUE IT!! WOOD AND CONCRETE RESURFACER
Homeowner purchased deck treatment as verified by copy of
receipt attached for a worn wood deck which was carefully
applied as per instructions October 2014.
Viewing this Spring, for whatever reason, the product did
not adhere to the wood in multiple places peeled, flaked
off and continues to do so.
I welcome a representative from the company and store to
view this dilemma and advise me of a possible solution
to this problem.

Review: Epoxy sold by [redacted] doesn't stick together when applied to vehicle like it should. I have spoken to several PPG reps. for their opinions with no results. Approx. 08-23-2012 I purchased supplies including epoxy primer and primer spending $1,200.00 or more paid in full (cash) paid to cashier at time of sale, epoxy product #[redacted] and activator product #[redacted] and primer product #[redacted] and #[redacted] undercoating hardener product. I was restoring my 1940 Chevrolet and had already stripped the car to the bare metal this was my second paint job on this car I had painted it using [redacted] products 20 years before with no issues at all. And the above products was what [redacted] recommended that I use and also told me how to use their products, when I applied the epoxy it started coming apart then I had to reapply several times and several times it came apart and I reapplied it over once again. I contacted the store with no success. The store sent [redacted] and [redacted] out to look my car over to see if they could figure out what was happening with the epoxy, they didn't know what was causing the issue so they told me to come and pick up additional supplies. They gave me some etch primer also so I stripped the hood back down and used the etch primer to prime it and block sanded and had no more issues with the hood. I have thought it was the epoxy all along. I looked up PPG phone number as that was what the store said they would do so I did it on my own then I called PPG rep. service tech. Andrew [redacted] several times to see if he might have any ideas why the epoxy was breaking down after I would apply it to the car, I took the advice from MR. [redacted] and still had problems, I then contacted [redacted] (sales rep.) from Houston Texas who did not help at all, he said I had" old contaminated metal". He had an attitude and was sarcastic from the start of the conversation, I got no where with [redacted] so I then looked up [redacted] Auto Color phone numbers on the computer. I went down the list calling the different stores and asking to speak to someone in charge about my complaint with their product, about the second store I called the associates in the store told me that [redacted] one of the owners of the store was there and would I like to speak to him. I did talk to [redacted] and he had [redacted] come out to look at my car, [redacted] didn't have an opinion. Then [redacted] sent [redacted] out to take a look at my car for his opinion and he didn't know the cause either, then [redacted] came out another time a day or two later and took samples of the air, took how many mills (thickness) the paint was, took samples of the epoxy and paint chips also took pictures of my air compressor. I felt that they were trying to fault with my equipment, anything to keep their company from being held responsible. I have been restoring vehicles for about 50 years.Desired Settlement: On or around 08-23-2012, not sure of exact dates I purchased epoxy primer [redacted] hardener [redacted] primer [redacted] and hardener[redacted] I spent about $1200.00 in cash on all products that I bought to restore my 1940 Chevrolet which I had restored once 20 years before using [redacted] products with no issues and it came out perfect I was now ready to restore this same car once again using [redacted] products by PPG. [redacted] associates gave me bad advice on how to use the epoxy I would apply the epoxy to my car

Response:
Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Mr. [redacted]’s complaint regarding the alleged product failure with PPG Industries, Inc.’s Shop-Line™ automotive refinish products. I apologize for my delay in responding, but I have now gathered the file material and spoken to the PPG individuals involved in Mr. [redacted]’s complaint.
??????According to [redacted] Auto Color, Mr. [redacted] encountered a few problems at the onset of his custom restoration project. At that time [redacted] gave Mr. [redacted] free PPG Shop-Line material and also gave him Product Information Sheets for each of those products so that he had the appropriate information on surface preparation, mixing, application and dry times. After that time, both PPG and [redacted] made several visits to address Mr. [redacted]’s subsequent complaint. On-site testing was done which clearly showed that the problems Mr. [redacted] encountered were related to his improper surface preparation and application of the products. Specifically, over-application of the epoxy product; insufficient "flash time" between coats of the epoxy did not allow the surface solvents to escape before application of the primer surface product; and incorrect settings on his spray equipment.
At PPG Industries, Inc. we take great pride in the quality of our products and the service we provide the ultimate customer. The problem Mr. [redacted] has experienced is not a product failure but instead a result of his improper surface preparation and application of PPG’s Shop-Line products. Again, thank you for the opportunity to comment on this complaint.
Very truly yours,
Claims Coordinator
