We understand that vehicle breakdown and repair process can be very frustrating with unexpected expensesThis vehicle bounced back and forth from shop to shop with inconsistent and delayed repairsCustomer declined completing all the recommended repairs and we advised the customer that there was
no more warranty on her repair - we repaired once, due to neglect the catalytic converters failed again and we provided once courtesy warranty replacementFollowing that repair we advised the customer that there was no warranty followingThe following is stated on the final invoice that was signed off by the customer.(Attached is the full invoice)"NO WARRANTY ON PART OR LABORIN ADDITION ALL WARRANTIES ON ENGINE WORK DONE HERE IS VOID DUE TO THE POSSIBILITY OF THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE OVER HEATING FROM RESTRICTED REAR CATALYTIC CONVERTERCUSTOMER ADVISEDCUSTOMER IS TAKING VEHICLE AFTER FRONT FORWARD CATALYTIC CONVERTER IS REPLACED."No additional compensation due to customer.

The rough $was spent specifically to replace the rear transfer case and one bearing on the BMW XThe oxygen sensor that coincidently failed a couple days later is located in the front of the vehicle and was not even touched during the rear transfer case repairWe do
understand the frustration of continual vehicle repairs required to maintain a vehicleAs usual, there was no pressure to complete the repair here, simply the vehicle was inspected and the report and recommendation were provided for the customer to make a decision. The oxygen sensor that required replacement was discounted down $and there was no diagnostic fee chargedThe customer was given the option to take it elsewhere for a second opinion and the repair was only completed upon the customers approval

This *** originally arrived at our shop the end of February Customer had found a (supposedly) rebuilt engine already for his car, which is a rare findWe agreed to install this engine for himAs with any major repair, once we were working on the removal and replacement of the
engine, we found additional parts required for this jobOn March we obtained approval from the customer for the expense of the additional parts requiredSince the customer provided the engine, we do not warranty the repair if the parts fail and require replacement againAfter completing the installation of his engine we found that the engine was no good - making noise and smoking badly (appears to be a used engine, not rebuilt)We informed the customer and he was able to negotiate with his engine supplier to get another engineWe believe they had to find another compatible engine and rebuild it as wellOn April 27, we did receive a partial payment of $from the customer (about half of the total bill)We had to wait a couple months to receive the replacement engine that finally arrived on June 3, We were very patient waiting for the replacement engine, while storing the customer's vehicle in our garage at no additional feeNot only did we store the vehicle that whole time, we also agreed to re-install the replacement engine for himAfter the engine came, we confirmed once again that it was not a satisfactory replacement due to the notes on the used engine (not rebuilt) indicating inconsistent compression readingsWe did not receive any additional payment or phone calls to resolve this issueOn September 10, we informed the customer of the payment and discounted storage fees due at this point.Customers address was presented to customer at his initial appointment on paperwork that was signed by customerAccording to this Revdex.com complaint the only difference in the address is the apartment or suite #instead of 32, in which this typo was not corrected or noticed by customer when his paperwork was originally created.Attached is the repair invoice.Balance due is $(Parts $+ Labor $+ tax $+ hazmat $= $- $4/27/= $1098.04)Storage for days at $40/day = $1240We will release vehicle to customer for a total of $

With a vehicle that has multiple issues, it may be frustrating and time consuming to narrow down all the repairs until it's back to normalWe have only completed recommended repairs that where recommended AND Approved, because we did find faults that required attention. As stated on the customers
invoice:Warranty on parts and labor is one years or 12,miles whichever comes first Warranty work has to be performed in our shop & cannot exceed the original cost of repairWarranty not provided when customer supplies partsAll parts are new unless otherwise indicatedWarranty is on original workmanship or part failure due to defective manufacturing and our policy does not cover repair labor or parts as a result from delay or loss of use, abuse, neglect of additional repairs/regular maintenance or heavy duty wear.So if the customer chooses to continue his diagnostics and repairs elsewhere, there is no warranty coverage on our repairs with another shop

I am rejecting this response because: It seems to me they are doing guess work which is costing me more and more money. Also sending me home when I specifically told them it wasn't running right was very unprofessional on their part and telling me to bring it back the next day so they can check something else. I will never take my vehicle back to this place again for anything.

Apologies for not getting you the invoice you requested. After I had some work done at Prestige I ended up selling my truck, and I'm having a hard time finding the paperwork. I've got estimates, but I still need to find the invoice/receipt Thanks,*** ***

I am rejecting this response because: they did not address the issue

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me
That's fine I'll pay the balance against what he is asking to get my car release and thank you

I am rejecting this response because: per the shop the warranty was voided because the rear CAT was not repaired when they replaced the one CAT for the 2nd time The car was towed from them to another shop to have the rear CAT and all coils replaced and the CAT they replaced still broke downIt does not matter where the recommended repair is done as long as it was done and it was and the vehicle was not driven until after the rear CAT and all coils were replacedThere is no way a supposedly brand new CAT breaks with a few months and then again within a week.

I went in to have my car inspected an checked for a potentially clogged catalytic converter, they told me my rear catalytic converter would need to be replaced an my engine an fuel system would need to be cleaned with a chemical in the system I authorized an asked for the old catalytic converter after the repairs were done they refused saying they would need to charge me for it on top of repairsAn when I left I went to fill up my tank then home.the next morning I noticed my car smelled heavy of gas fumes on the inside an my check engine light came on when I started driving, I took it back to the shop an they said my gas tank was rusted which wasnt the case the cleaner they used rotted my fuel shut off valve seal that sits on top of the tank an they wanted to charge me over 1000$ for the new repairs without taking any fault in what they didSince I drove the car the day after the initial repairs I have had a very bad headache an been nauseated to the point of throwing up from inhalin

We complete Lyft inspections almost daily hereWe are a certified Lyft inspector and the inspection consists of visually looking at the vehicle to confirm the odometer reading, that the gauges and horn workChecking tire tread depth and making sure the car steers and brakesChecking exterior
lights, checking if doors open, close & lock and making sure the seats adjustWe also check the safety belts. This type of inspection does not require us to report if the check engine light or any warning lights are on or not. Once the initial inspection was completed the key was brought into the office, but since the inspection failed due to failed light bulbs, the customer authorized us to install new bulbs to check off the inspection as passedThe technician returned the key to the office and it was handed to the customerThe customer left and then returned later complaining about malfunctions. The customer informed us he had just traded his other car for this oneHe declined diagnostics to determined cause of failure. We suggest he takes it back to the selling dealer or complete diagnostics to determined his cause of failure.

We understand how frustrating vehicle repair can beUnderstanding the process of diagnostics and repair can be very complicatedWe assure you we have completed the diagnostics and repairs in orderWe took the time to verify the part failure and made recommendations based on our findings (not guesses)Those repairs were only completed with your authorizationAlthough it is difficult to budget for unexpected expenses, the repairs are your responsibility as the vehicle ownerWe have done all we can to assist you generously.

I am rejecting this response because: for obvious reasons I will not be allowing this completely unprofessional business to touch my vehicleIt's obvious they are not interested in accepting my offer to allow them to make restitution to the damage done to my vehicleNot only do they refuse to accept responsibility for the damage, they will not even offer apology for their extreme rudeness and complete lack of interest to address my initial complaint in a professional manner

I have trust Prestige Auto works with my vehicles in the past so when my extended warranty was over I knew whom to turn toOn 8/5, I called to let them know I was having my car towed in and requested a diagnostic8/7, I received a call letting me know the EWS needed replacing and programmingHowever, it would take a few days since the part needed to be orderedI approved itOn 8/9, spending almost $bucksI drove off thinking everything was greatThe next day, I noticed a hard start but did not think anything of it since it started on the second try and of course trusted Prestige’s work
Not even weeks go by, I’m about to leave for work and the car will not start except lights, radio on…hmmm, I think okay maybe a flukeTry again and it works, off I go, days later I go to leave for work, turn the key and nothing, the car will not start AGAINSitting in my car, I tried to start it and nothingI attempted for a few days, different times, nothingThe same issue as to w

Upon arrival the customer did specifically request the before and after measurements for his VanagonI assured him that we do the before and after reports on all alignments and in front of the customer I specifically made the request known to the technicianUnfortunately there was a program
error that did not save the before measurements during the alignment processThe technician had wrote down the measurement on the report we provided for the customerAnd I apologized that the full report didn't save properly. The wheel alignment was corrected as requested by the customer. The customer paid his bill, took his paperwork and walked outA little bit later he walked back in and asked if we had an experienced technician work on his vanI told him we had an excellent technician work on his vanThen he proceeded to say that he is an it because he used pliers on his tie rod to hold it and stripped the threads and asked for his money backI reminded him that we did correct the alignment as he had requestedHe asked if that was my final answer and I said yes and he said he would leaveAs he left he cursed at the shop, technician and our customers out frontLater he posted a yelp review with pictures, which I've attached to this responseWe have not seen the damage to the threads in person, but from what we can see in the picture, a bit of the inner portion of tread was slightly rounded off and it would not affect the alignment or any future repairsWe did consult with the technician and make the customers concerns knownWe can schedule an appointment to inspect the implied damage in person and possibly repair the threads

To address your responseIt's obvious you will find every excuse to blame the customerThe bottom line is, the vehicle was not repaired properlyI called and explained that I did not have the money to have the car towed againAll stated in my complaintNEVER once did anyone mention roadside assistance mentioned OR financing optionsThese options would not have been needed IF the car was repaired properly the first placeI was nothing but patient with your establishmentYou allegedly spend hours figuring out what was wrong with the vehicleWhile, never considering the additional expense/ hardship this has cause meLike I said before, why did I pay for a diagnostic if the issue would not show up? I paid for the first recommendation and it did nothing to my car, my car left with the same issues I brought it in forI trusted Prestige to have my vehicle repaired properly for the issue it came in forI agreed to paid the amount first quoted in good faith that my car would be repaired properlyHow is this the customers fault that you allegedly spent time evaluating it? I cannot believe no one figured it could be the ignition switch in the first placeYou put the fault at the expense of the customer, if you were a honest establishment you’d find this was an error on your partNot even two weeks I called to let you know my car was having the same issues I had initially bought it in forI would have brought it in sooner BUT I did not expect Prestige to charge me for their mistakeI know you will find every excuse to fault the customer, which shows a lot about the character of this establishmentGoes to show good, trustworthy mechanics are hard to findI will seek counsel

We understand the customers frustration dealing with multiple repairsOn the final invoices, there is important information just above the signature lineOne item is for roadside serviceAs a benefit to our customers they do have assistance with towing a vehicle back into the shop once it has
been here previouslyShe is eligible for reimbursement up to $for the towing expense(often many customers opt to use their tow service provided from their personal insurance policy) We were unaware of this hardship, or we would have specifically mentioned this solutionIt's not to late to request the reimbursement:If you need roadside assistance, call *** ***) promt Visit ***to file a reimbursement claim, you must submit the following w/in days: a photocopy of previous/original invoiceyour complete name, address and ph#photocopy of paid invoice for roadside assistance...Submit to:*** *** ***

*** ** ***We have spent upwards of hours checking this vehicle for an intermittent issueThe technicians time has not been charged to the customer, we are very generous with our timeTo verify the cause of failure it requires the failure to be present during testing, this was explained to the customerThe technician even provided his personal information to convenience the customer in this situation. The original recommendation to replace the EWS was verified through testing, technical specifications and not as a guessWith any repair, there is always a possibility that the vehicle may require additional repair(s) that may not be anticipated or planned forWe do offer a couple financing options to assist in these unexpected expenses. All repairs were completed only upon the authorization from the customerThere is no fraud in the completed repairs (fraud would be something like saying you need a transmission because your car won't start)The repairs completed are directly related to the failure and repairs have corrected the issueWe find no reason to refund customer any portion of the completed repairsCustomer has already been compensated with many free hours of labor.
