This customer purchased siding, windows and gutters from us in 2005.  At the time of his contract, the following language governed the coverage of labor warranties:  For a...

period of one (1) year from installation (if
Product was installed) or delivery of Product(s), Weather Tight will service
the Manufacturer's Warranty. To service the Manufacturer's Warranty means to
provide the labor, parts, and material necessary to repair or replace the
Product(s) according to the terms, conditions, limitations, and restrictions of
the Manufacturer's Warranty. For claims made during this one (1) year period,
if the Manufacturer determines it will repair the Product(s) but will not
assume the cost of labor pursuant to its Warranty, Weather Tight will provide
the labor at no cost to Customer.
Weather Tight will not service Manufacturer’s Warranty for claims made
after this one (1) year period. The customer reported an issue in 2007, which was serviced successfully, and another in 2009.  Even though his labor warranty had already expired, we were willing to provide service labor under what had become our new labor warranty beginning in 2008, which allows future service as long as the product is warrantied but requires payment of a service processing fee of $85.  This was not required by his contract, but we had been honoring the revised warranty in most cases for other customers by this time in 2009.  Our last contact with this customer indicated that they would consider whether or not to pay the fee.  We have not heard from them since. We are sad to hear of this customer's difficulties following installation, and are more than willing to extend his labor warranty under our new warranty terms.  Further, we would ask the Revdex.com to consider this a customer comment and move it to the reviews section rather than complaints.  There does not seem to be anything the customer is asking the Revdex.com to do, or asking Weather Tight to do.  It appears this is just meant as commentary, so would be better categorized as a customer review.  Thank you!

I will contact the State Agencies you have recommended to assist with the investigation of their unethical business practices.

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I do not think it is reasonable that they can not at least tell me who manufactures the pads for the armrest so that I could ask them to sell them.  I think it's insane that they won't sell them separately and are trying to fleece me into buying a low quality product for almost 100$ even with a 20% discount...the replacement pads for this thing are not worth 60$ ...it's riduridicu.  The least they can do and what I want them to do is tell me who they get them from so I could attempt to get a more reasonable solution from that company.  I will not buy another of thier hanging armrest simply to put new detachable pads on this one and the main reason I won't is because it's a very low wualqua product that had to be re-engineered in order to provide a reasonable amount of support.  I want them to just tell me who the company is that they get them from. I rejected a complain I have against earthlite complain ID  [redacted] and I left out a lot of details I had meant to include.  I just wanted to say that I do not at all understand why she brought up a warranty.  I haven't asked for any action to be taken in regard to a warranty or for anything to be replaced or repaired.  I am complaining that I feel it is unreasonable that they cant sell me replacement pads for an expensive item and instead are trying to fleece me into buying an entire new unit of that expensive and low quality item that I had to modify in order to get to provide reasonable support. I get that they don't have to sell the pads separately like I wanted them to.  my complaint is that I think they are being extremely unreasonable by not selling it. I think a reasonable company would sell a replacement pad for this.  it is an easily detachable item that velcros onto the rest of the wooden piece and is meant for massage clients to rest their arms on.  The rest of this thing is made out of nice solid wood (although the design itself is pretty poor - doesn't provide good support unless modified).  I would expect after having hundreds of clients use this thing over time one would reasonably expect to be able to replace the pads without having to buy an entire new solid wood piece (which a reasonable person wouldn't expect to wear out very fast...its solid wood...).....and my other and most important complaint is that they told me the reason they wont separate is bc they don't make these things themselves but I have asked repeatedly and they refuse to tell me who they get them from so I could at least have a chance to ask that company to sell me the pads for this thing. My desired outcome is that they at least tell me who makes the pads so I can attempt to buy them or even better yet be more reasonable about this..and if not I want my complaint to be known to the public.Regards,[redacted]
