I spoke to [redacted] todayHe believes Protect America is not licensed in Indiana because our agreement does not list a state license for IndianaI've confirmed with our Licensing Department that Indiana does not require a state license for alarm companiesSome cities, however, doWe hold multiple licenses in Indiana at city/county levelsOnly state licenses are required to be listed on our agreement.I also advised [redacted] that, aside from a restocking fee being explained in our monitoring agreement, he was verbally advised of it by our sales team when he completed our agreement.At this time, [redacted] has been refunded one month of service chargesOur Retention team has cancelled his accountHe should not be billed any further

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: First I call ProtectAmerica several times (6/11/14, 6/25/14,7/14/7/21/8/13/8/23/9/3/9/18/and every time they tell me theywere working on it , all protect America wants is to get my contract signed and to get paidThey never have a good intentionof fixing this mess that they create , screwing my contract with monitronics , if they have good intentions of fixing mycontract why they take months to fix one single problem They could have canceledmy contract because it was illegal sincethe beginning for not showing all the terms and conditions and price ,the$I never see that on the tablet , all [redacted] (sales Person ) did is show mea page with the screen to sign , and he told me that I was going to get anemail with the price with protect America , which never happened until October whenthey told me that my price was going to change to $dollars a month and that Iwas going to get a gift card weeksafter I sign the documents via email ,but I was very clear when I asked theretention department that who was going to fix my credit for being on collectionwith monitronics and if all this thingswere not going to be fixed then cancelmy contract , somethingthat Protect America caused since the beginning for letting dealers hire peoplewho are not honest and let this happen for too long , and of course I am not going tosign the documents because they lost my trust and I dint believe then that I was going toget the gift card ,and that is because everything was a lie and wrong since thebeginning they never have a good intention to fix all this mess that theycreate , and whatever they do with thedealer , if they don’t work with then,that is not my problem , and now they send my account to a collection department and want to get pay for a service for yearswent is being only months , that only show they poor customer service theygive me and that the only thing the care is the money at any cost and they don’tcare about me because I have to deal with monitronicscollection too , I belie I being avictim of abuse of very dishonest company Regards, [redacted]

Protect America strives to follow through with anything we advise our customers ofThe agreement we entered into with Mrs [redacted] states that we need 30-day advance written notice to cancel an accountWhen Mrs [redacted] called on 1/29/15, she asked if she would still need to pay for February She was advised that she had completed payments, fulfilling her agreement's initial term, and that it now renews month-to-monthShe then asked to cancel and was transferred to our Retention Team, where she was offered a lower monthly rateMrs [redacted] requested to call us back after she speaks with her husbandWe did not hear from her until 2/9/15, when she called wondering why the account was still openDuring this call, our Retention Team made an exception to our requirement of a day written notice and cancelled her account to ensure no further chargesWe regret that Mrs [redacted] did not have a favorable experience with usWe find that our Team Members were accurate in their statements

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:Thank you for acting on our complaint regarding Protect America,IncYes, Mrs [redacted] was informed about self-installationProtect America also stated that not everyone could install the system (they indicated about 5%, I believe) We then requested to return the equipment and cancel the contract and was told by the company it was too lateWe then asked them to provide a technicianWhat Protect America did not state when selling the contract to us was that NO TECHNICIAN representing their company was available in the state of OhioThey later disclosed this information to me after the factWe were also told that a technician, if available, would cost between $400-$to install the systemThis should be on their alleged recordingThat high cost of $400-$is totally unacceptable and if Protect America disclosed this information up front, I would not have signed the contractWhy would Mr [redacted] say the equipment sent to us is "not sophisticated" enough and want more sophistication if he couldn't install the equipment they called "simple" equipment provided in the first place! Protect America has not done everything in their power to assist us other than trying to demean us by saying a woman or a child could install the systemI am willing to return their equipment and allow them to keep the original $paid to them as a contract sfee as a restocking fee If they comply with this offer from me and Mr [redacted] , we also will not complain to Quic [redacted] Loans whom we suspect shared our personal and private contact information with Protect America without our permission Regards, [redacted]

Mr [redacted] signed our agreement on 2/11/We were first made aware of his request to cancel on 12/3/14, in response to an email he received about a past due balanceAfter explaining to Mr [redacted] his cancellation options, it was understood that we would internally review his sales call for coaching purposesProtect America is concerned about the potential of our staff conveying information to customers and coaches(or possibly terminates) individuals when we find information was providedMr [redacted] did request a follafter we had reviewed the sales callOur Customer Service Agent advised that in this situation, we didn't want to set the expectation that a follwould occur since this would be strictly for employee professional developmentIn reviewing MrDimauro's sales call, we found that Mr [redacted] was advised, "most of the top companies offer or year agreements", which Protect America did believe to be an industry standard at that timeWe understand that recent changes within our industry may or may not invalidate that statement nowOur Sales Agent did not say anything regarding a specific competitor

We have called Mrs. [redacted] and left a message with call back information to try and resolve this. Since we have no record of receiving a cancellation letter in/around August 2013, we have asked Mrs. [redacted] if she can provide us with any proof this was sent.

We have received the complaint rejection filed by Mr[redacted] At the time Mr [redacted] signed the agreement PAI was on a yearly renewaltermif the cancellation letter was not postmarked or received prior to thethree year contract end date, the agreement would continue an additional yearProtect America customer agreements are now month to month andafter the initial year agreement termMr [redacted] called to cancel on 3/4/2015and the proper cancellation procedure was provided PAI received the cancellation letter on3/26/and his account is set to cancel 4/26/

In reviewing Mr[redacted] account we’ve found that on 10/21/our resolution for Mr [redacted] were to take over the system that’s inthe new home due to him leaving the Protect America alarm system in the home that was soldThisoffer was to absorb the remaining months of the contract termOn 11/8/wewere unable to complete the install process with Mr [redacted] due to his timeconstraint We reached out to Mr [redacted] beginning 11/to 11/17/in an effort to complete the installationprocess of taking over an existing alarm systemPAI had been unable to reachMr [redacted] Additionally, Mr [redacted] ’s agreement with Protect America statesthat we require written notice days prior to the cancellation dateAt thistime Mr [redacted] ’s account is set to cancel 5/31/

I purchased a used car yesterday, a 2006 van, and I purchased the added warranty with ASC, since it was a used car. I took the car to our family mechanic to be checked over, and also because there was a squeak which the dealer assured me was a pulley and belt. The repair shop called me this morning to tell me that the rocker arms needed to be replaced. I called ASC Warranty to ask how to go about getting this repaired under the warranty, since rocker arms were specifically listed as one of the items covered. I was told this repair wouldn't be covered because I had bought the car while it was making a noise. I'm not a mechanic. I trusted the dealer who told me it was something minor, but I did purchase the warranty just in case something else was wrong with the car. This is, at the very least, false advertising, but I feel that ASC Warranty has figured out a way to get out of paying for claims, and the warranty is completely useless.
