Review: Ordered Perfecter Fusion Styler curling iron over the phone, while ordering they tried to sell other products which were denied. The curling iron ended up being too expensive I contacted Perfecter Fusion Styler the same day and cancelled order, they cancelled the order. Then my account was debited for 24.95, I investigated and it was [redacted]s that debited my account, it was one of the other products that was offered during the initial order of the curling iron that was DENIED. I contacted them the beginning of February 2014 to identify what it was, once I identified it was a [redacted] program that I said no to, so I wanted a refund, the rewards program said give them 10 days and it would be straightened out and refunded. I contacted them again to inquire about the refund they stated they mailed me a letter (that I never received) and I did not respond soon enough, so they were not going to refund my money. I have continued to contact [redacted] (AKA: [redacted]s) numerous times and they continue to deny refund. They debited my account for 24.95 in January and again in February for 24.95. At which point I cancelled my bank account so that they could not debit my account further. How can I cancel something that I did not order to begin with??? They fraudulently debited my account!Desired Settlement: I want my 49.90 dollars back (two debits of $24.95), I did not order the [redacted], I don't even have a computer which is the only way that I could use the rewards, there is NO way that I would have even been duped into buying it!

Review: I purchased a product online for my kitchen. A representative called my telephone to confirm the order. She asked me if I would be interested in magazines with a 30 day free trial. This offer came with a $50 gift card. I accepted and received a package by mail. This free trial cost $!.50 for handling cost. I was notified to cancel if I don't want a renewal. I gave them my debit card number The company name is [redacted]. I checked my [redacted] checking account online and noticed a charge of $19.95 was made before the 30 day trial period. I called their telephone to inform them of this fraud. The customer service representative apologized and confirmed she will credit my account to my bank. I have not received any magazines or my gift card of $50. The 30th day I gave them my cancellation notice. M debit account was not credited as was confirmed. This company scammed me and I at least want the $50 gift card.

I want the $50 gift card

Consumer

Response:

7 weeks ago I accepted an offer by this advertising business to receive magazines on a trial basis. They told me I would pay $1.50 handling fee and I would receive a [redacted] gift card as a promotional gift. I accepted. On my 30th day, I called to make the required cancellation request. They thanked me and I asked when my gift card was going to be mailed. They said I need to email a form. I told them I will email the form right away which I did. Four days later I reviewed my bank account online and discovered they billed my debit card of $19.95 that is the amount to be billed if I continue after 30 days. I called them to let them know they had no right to bill me. They said I will be getting credited to my debit card. I did not get credited. They say I was past the free 30 day trial. I said, why did the first representative acknowledge the error? I deserve at the very least to honor the $50 gift card and I wont be upset that $19.95 was charged to me. I feel its the right way to settle.

Business

Response:

We absolutely are honoring your $50 gift card request/claim. We received your claim on May 19th.

Review: When ordering the [redacted] online, I was offered free magazines. I was told I had to cancel the subscription within 30 days in order not to be charged after I get the first 3 magazines. A couple of days later, I did cancel. However, a charge hit my bank account on 4/2/14 for $19.95. When I contacted [redacted], they said I had to contact [redacted]. When I did, they said since I didn't cancel directly with them, the charge would not be reversed. I explained that I had cancelled and if there was another step I needed to take, [redacted] didn't tell me. I called to speak with a supervisor, but still could not get the charge reversed. I feel like this is all a scam.Desired Settlement: I would like $19.95 charged reversed to my account or a check for $19.95 mailed to me from [redacted]. At this point, I really don't trust them with my account unless necessary, so a check payable to P[redacted] would be preferred. Thank you.

Response:

Although the customer acknowledges she cancelled with the wrong company (our toll free number is read during our offer and included in our written confirmation notice that we mail First Class US Mail)...and although we did order and pay for magazines that she ordered…we will refund her single charge, as a courtesy.

Review: I orderd the dump cake book and that is all I ordered. never signed up for this service.

my daughter [redacted] looked on my bank statement and saw that I had 4 payments of 24.95 taking out of my bank. never signed up for it. I ordered the dumped cake book for 9.95 and they asked me if I want to sign up for extra and I said no. they took advantage of me. I called and asked for a refund and they said they don't give refunds. but how can they illegally take money out of my account. I don't know how it works. but luckly I have a daughter that looks out for me. and not being taking advantage of. so today I called and spoke to [redacted] she never told me it was denied and then I spoke to [redacted] supervisor and they were not sympathetic. they refuse to help. this is my next best option to get my 4 refunds of 24.95 plus and extra 24.95 for ripping a senior citizen off. I will write all the newspapers and legal agencies I can until I get my refund backDesired Settlement: refund of 24.95 x 5 for taking advantage of a senior citizen.

Review: I purchased a ring through [redacted] They offered a $50 [redacted] giftcard with a trial subscription of 3 free magazines which I could cancel anytime before 30 days. To get the free card I had to accept the mags. I was to receive my confirmation letter by mail. I signed up for this offer on 4/03/2015 and received my confirmation letter from Magazine Rewards Plus on Saturday evening 5/02/2015. Their neglect to send me the confirmation letter, with the info to retrieve the gift card, within the promised time of 7 to 10 days of subscribing, as stated on their website, has caused me to lose the opportunity to get the free gift card as they do not redeem this after 30 days of the initial date I subscribed to the offer. To this day I have only received 1 magazine. As far as this company charging my credit card, I used a prepaid [redacted] that has a zero balance. Cancelling the subscription was not a problem to do on 5/04/2015 which was a day after the 30 days of initially subscribing. The customer rep I spoke with was courteous but stated they were a member with the Revdex.com which they are not.

Review: Please do post this on a Revdex.com website so that people will know not to use Magazine Rewards at ###-###-####. They are a subsidiary of Radius Media Group LLC in Stamford Connecticut. They will not refund my "processing fee" of $1.95 that I was not made aware of at the outset of my order. I have since cancelled the order and did not find out about this fee until I looked at my bank statement. I have called five different numbers and no one is able to help me. Also, apparently, "corporate" does not have a phone in the building. I will be sending an email to request my $1.95 back as well as sending snail mail to request my money back. I'm sure it will get lost on both accounts. The fact is that this is no longer about the money, but about the principle. The company is STEALING from people if they don't make you aware of the charge. And I cancelled the program because I don't have the money to continue with the service. I'm told I'll receive magazines so I'm supposed to be ok with the $1.95 since I'll still get those. No, because I cancelled the service. If they want to send the magazines after cancellation, that isn't my problem. And FREE means NO MONEY, not $1.95. All I am requesting is that I get my $1.95 fee refunded. I also think that this business should be monitored by the Revdex.com but that is for them to determine.Desired Settlement: I want my $1.95 "processing fee" that I was never made aware of to be refunded.

Business

Response:

We think Ms Gordon forgot that she agreed to a $1.95 processing fee and then furnished her credit card --- but we will refund her $1.95 as a courtesy.

Review: I was doing a trial with magazines. I had 30 days from the time I enrolled to cancel, to which I did.[redacted], the supervisor informed me that they charged my account on the weekend, I had til that Monday to cancel I did, on time. She told me I couldn't get a refund.

Review: On February 27, 2014, I accepted a free 30 day membership to try the Active 10 product and was given a confirmation number of [redacted]2 and an online web address ([redacted] I received the active 10, but never received any information regarding the membership. I went online to check the status and the website did not exist. I was billed $24.95 on April 4, 2014 from Members Rewards Plus. I called the customer service number (###-###-####) and told [redacted] to cancel the membership because I never received any information. He told me I would be reimbursed. I never received the money so I called again on April 22, 2014 and talked to [redacted] who told me they were not associated with Active 10 and that they were a completely different company. When I asked her what the membership was for, she told me I had to go online to get that information. I informed her that when I went to the website it was not in service, she told me [redacted] was not their web address. [redacted] told me she would resubmit my request for reimbursement. As of today May 1, 2014, my money has not been refunded. I called the Rewards Center and spoke to [redacted], who told me my request was denied. I was told to call ###-###-#### when I demanded to speak to a supervisor. Someone named [redacted] told me that I now have to submit in writing my request for reimbursement to Magazine Rewards, [redacted]. Today is the first time anyone told me this was a magazine program. When I ordered the Active 10 product the free 30 day membership was offered. I was under the impression I would be receiving a shipment each month. There was no mention of a $24.95 fee or any mention of magazines. I never would have signed up for magazines, and I certainly would not pay $24.95 for them.Desired Settlement: I want my $24.95 refunded to my account. I am also requesting an investigation into the deceptive practices of this company.

Business

Response:

We believe this customer is confused between the website to check on her product purchase for Active 10 and our service which was offered to her after the Active 10 purchase. Our website is different than theirs.

Review: I ordered a dog training video from TV, received product and called the number provided with product to cancel any further charging. Cancellation # [redacted] from 1-22-2014 to ###-###-####. I did not notice the charge on my account from Magazine Reward (Radius Holdings) until May bill when I had paid off my bank charge account in full. I called the customer bank credit charge account and was given number to call company. Called on 5/21/2014 and told them I had cancelled 1/22/14. [redacted] was not helpful and informed me even if I cancelled with other company it did not cancel their account. I was told they cancelled my account but would not refund any money, I asked to speak with a manager and they cut the call off. My credit card charge showed in June where they had again charged my account. I again called the company told them they were fraudulent and asked to speak with a manager and they again cut off the call as they had done previously. This is what was included with the product I received.During your enrollment your electronic signature was received authorizing a subscriber fee of $24.95ever month after the trial period to the credit card or debit/check card you have provided ending in [redacted]. After your 30-day trail, charges will be submitted on approximately2/13/14 and every 30 days thereafter. Please call ###-###-#### if you would like to charge another card to make payments , to cancel, or for other customer issues.Desired Settlement: I have been charged $24.95 from February to June 2014. I want the entire amount $104.25 refunded to [redacted] by check since I took the precaution of changing my credit card number so they could no longer charge me.

Review: I had order a book back in Oct. from a different company. This company states that they mailed me a welcome letter. I never received anything from this company. They have been charging me $24.95 a month for magazine service when I never received a letter or have received any magazines.Desired Settlement: Request refund of $74.85 for service I did not know I had signed up to receive.

Review: Magazine Rewards has been charging my credit card $14.94 monthly without my permission for magazines which I never ordered.

Magazine Rewards began charging my credit card on January 15, 2013 for $14.95, unbeknownst to me, for magazines which I never ordered ( nor received!)I have called customer service, but they keep putting me off saying that the matter must be decided by their "Quality Assurance": I have no desire for magazines, nor did I authorize any subscriptions: since these charges have been made without my permission, I consider that I have been scammed, and I am a senior citizen on Social Security and can't afford these charges, and therefore I want a refund of the entire amount of $44.85 as soon as possible. Thank you.

Desired Settlement: I am requesting a refund of $44.85, the entire amount of unauthorized charges to my credit card, and that for future "customers" that there be a clear agreement in writing for their services.

Review: They signed me up for subscriptions I did not authorize ,My wife order a curl iron on phone from[redacted] .They have been charging me $24.95 since 06/2014 this day now is 11/2014Desired Settlement: Refund and these places need to be stopped without charging with out signed authorization

Review: This company latched itself onto a sale of the [redacted]. Upon calling their customer service ####-###-#### and asking for a refund on January 14, 2014 after finding their charge of $19.95 on our December Bank Account for magazines not ordered and NEVER received. We were told in January that we would receive a refund and would see the credit in our next months statement. Upon reconciliation of our January Bank Account we called and were told by [redacted] and [redacted] that their Customer Service Rep that helped us in January did not exist and we would not be receiving a refund because we agreed to their magazines. When we told [redacted] that we had not received any magazines she stated that sometimes it takes months before receiving them and we were no longer entitled to a refund because the 60 days trial period was over.Desired Settlement: We want a refund but more importantly we need people to know about this scam and warn them.

Response:

[redacted] is mistaken about some things, however, we have happily refunded his $19.95.

Review: When ordering a product on the phone I was inundated with offers that I did not accept and was charged a $24.95 fee TWICE to my credit card but I never received any gift cards or magazines. I called and was told to write, I wrote twice to get a refund and got no reply. I was so upset during the call to order a Perfector curling iron that I told them to cancel my order. They did not so I returned the product. I am more than upset that this magazine rewards has charged me $50.00 for nothing! Please help.Desired Settlement: I want my $50.00 refunded , either on my credit card or by check. Please and thank you.

Review: I purchased a [redacted] over the phone and as part of the sales process I was offered a promotion of a $50.00 gift card if I accepted a trial with Magazine Rewards. I was hesitant but knowing I was working with a legit retailer for [redacted] I decided I would accept the trial. I was told that I would receive a welcome packet from Magazine Rewards and could cancel anytime and the $50.00 gift card would be mine to keep. Well, the first month (Feb./Mar.) went by, no welcome packet and no charges to my credit card, I figured fine they didn't process the trial (I wasn't interested anyway). Then I notice in June that a charge I didn't make for $19.95 came out of my account so I went back further and realized I missed the same charge that came out in April and May. I called the number associated with the transaction on my card statement and explained to them that I never received an email or any welcome packet and had not used or received any services from their company and wanted to be refunded. I said, I never got a gift card in the mail or any information on what the $19.95 fee provided me each month, I spoke with a Supervisor named [redacted] was not helpful and could not transfer me to her supervisor or provide a number to contact. [redacted] did provide a general email. I was told Magazine Rewards takes no responsibility for mail that may have been lost or not received and that I was not entitled to a $50.00 gift card because the first 30 days had passed and that refunds are not offered. This company is a scam. I should not be charged for something when I haven't received any gift, product, or service. This subscription has been canceled as of 06-27-2015.Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Refund

Refund. Transparent marketing so someone else doesn't fall victim. I received nothing from this company - I truly do not understand what you pay $19.95 a month for.

This customer definitely accepted the offer but, as a courtesy, he has been fully refunded.

Review: I called for a "FREE" $50 [redacted] gift certificate from a flyer in the packet when I purchased tickets through [redacted] (March 14). When I called they right away "pushed" the magazines for a 30 day free trial period...(can cancel at any time. I received a letter in the mail (March 27th) where I could select the type of $50 gift -either a gift card or check. I sent my reply promptly in the mail on March 28th.After 31 days (from March 14th), I have not received any magazines so I promptly canceled the "membership" (April 7). There is a $19.95/month charge charge which showed up on my credit card statement on April 13. I still did not receive any magazines at this time. I called magazine rewards plus and they saw my cancelation, but would not credit me the monthly charge and still no magazines. I asked to speak to a supervisor the representative said she was a supervisor....I asked to speak to her supervisor...she gave me another 866 phone number which puts you in a que and have to wait even more. I asked if I would see any more charges..she said NO. I'll be watching my next credit card statement to make sure. The representative said the Gift card/check will not be mailed out for 3 months. We'll see if it arrives.

Review: While reviewing my bank statement I noticed I was charged $19.99 by this company. I haven't received anything in the mail nor have I signed up for anything. I called the 1-888 number and was met with a choice of options that said they would assist with cancelling and a refund. I chose option 3 and it said I was cancelled and disconnected. I called back and waited for a live person and got [redacted]. I asked about getting a refund and she refused. She said this was part of a package for something I purchased off the TV. I tried to explain to her that I havent bought anything on the TV and she said I must have. Now I know when I buy something or dont. in the end she refused to give me a refund and I dont think I should have to give them money for anything. Especially when I didnt recieve anything or ask for anything.

Mr. [redacted] ordered from us and we are happy to retrieve and review the recording of that offer acceptance. He was mailed a confirmation via First Class US Mail (to ensure delivery) and that confirmation was not returned to us as undeliverable.

Review: False advertising of services, no correspendence once initial service is provided.

This company solicited their services on April 21st when I called to order the [redacted]. Upon order several offers were made to me which making the call last over 30 minutes. Apparently according to them I ordered their services and did not cancel upon the 30 day trial. I notified them and told them that I did cancel on May 14th and I had a confirmation number. The manager informed me that the cancellation was for another company in which they are competitors.Apparently I am under the impression that Radius Media Group is also the Value Plus company in which I thought I had cancelled my so called subscription. In total the company called Radius Media Group were able to extract 299.00 of funds out of my account. With absolutely no service being provided.Desired Settlement: I am seeking a settlement of $299.00

Business

Response:

We had some difficulty locating this customer's record at first because her complaint, for some reason, did not include her full last name (her last name is not an uncommon surname). Once we located the account we retrieved the order recording and determined that this customer definitively agreed to our order. Moreover, we confirmed this order in writing via US First Class Mail which included our toll free customer service number. In fact, this customer has been receiving six magazines from us for nearly two years and has been billed monthly without contacting us -- it's important to note that our toll free customer service number appeared on her bank statement each month. This monthly charge is $14.95, which works out to about $2.50 per magazine -- magazines she agreed to order and receive below newsstand cost. We do not think it is appropriate to order something, receive the products/service for two years, and then suddenly decide a full refund is in order. We are very happy to play the recording for this customer if she contacts us via the phone number included in the Revdex.com complaint portal.Thank you.

Response:

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

First let me address the issue with my last name. When I initially entered all of my information for Revdex.com it was on my smartphone. I was not aware that my last name was not fully entered as [redacted]. I apologize for the confusion and with like to add that it was a typo. I believe my complaint to be totally in compliance with my rights as a consumer. Let me also add that my initial purchase was not for magazines. I called the toll free number to purchase [redacted] and [redacted] from an infomericial. Once I got on the phone with representative I was then led to several other purchases, not to mention keeping me on the phone for over 30 minutes. By the end of the call I had purchased more [redacted] than I had anticipated and also signed up for valueplus membership. On May 14th 2013 I cancelled my membership for the discounted services they were offering and the confirmation number is #[redacted]. The purchase was made with my [redacted] credit card. This particular credit card I do not monitor and unfortunately that is why this atrocity has stemmed for a period of 24 months. I put in a call to a representative of this so called company. I never received any correspondence from them what so ever. I also DID NOT receive subscriptions to 6 different magazines. I receive magazines and I can prove that because I get mail from [redacted] and other distributors when the subscription is expiring. They continued to just take 14.95 out of my account with no justification of a product being delivered. I looked up this company and the complaints online are horrendous. They seem to be a third party to infomercials that coerce people into ordering against their better judgement. My only crime was not checking my credit card statement and just paying my card every month. It was a wake up call to me, however I will not allow this company to take $299.00 Total for #1 a service I clearly discontinued but was not aware of all the tag on companies. #2 for a product (6 magazines) that I DID NOT receive for 2 years.

Review: When I got the original flyer it did not say anything about having to enroll in a 19.95 dollar membership. All it says is call to claim a 50.00 [redacted] gift Card. Then it says plus you are entitled to receive up to 3 issues of your favorite magazine, absolutely Risk-FREE. Not in this flyer or through any phone call did it say about enrolling in a 19.95 dollar membership. That is false advertisement. Yes, they did cancel my membership but I feel I should still be entitled to my gift card. I did what they asked me to do and ordered the magazines to try them out. False advertisement is against the law and something should be done about this company. As a consumer it is my right to get what a company is offering and this company has not honored my right.Desired Settlement: I want the 50.00 [redacted] gift card that was offered in the first place. I'm getting the trail magazines that was part of the original agreement. I should not have to send in a card with my initials to accept the 19.95 dollar membership. That was not the agreement I made over the phone.

Response:

[redacted] is still within her trial period -- despite the fact that she has cancelled her service. Initialing the postcard will not subject her to being billed at all.

Review: On April 1st, I ordered a hair curler via phone and there must have been 20 questions to go though of other things they wanted to sell me and I said 'NO' to all of them, pressing the appropriate button for the 'NO' answer to all, I was very careful because I did not want anything else. I received my May statement and there was a charge for $24.95 on it. I called them and she said she would 'check into it' to see if I had ordered it or not. I told her I had not 'ordered' whatever it was and would like it taken off my bill. I did not hear back and frankly got busy and forgot. My June bill came and there was yet another $24.95 charge and I called her again. She said she would check into it again. We were gone and just got back and it was still on my bill with no refunds. I called again and she said it had been stopped but that I had not called in time, she said I called on 6-7 and 6-6 was the cut off date so I would have to pay but that they will not charge me any more. A few things on this. I did not order whatever it was and I don't even know what it was for. I checked on line and it seems they are a magazine company and I did not order nor have I received any magazines and I don't want any either. I feel they cheated me intentionally and when I complained they still took my money. This is a very tricky way of doing business and wonder how many people out there are paying for this without knowing. Please, if possible, do something about it. Thank you.Desired Settlement: I would like the $24.95 that they charged me to be refunded. I don't know what it was for and I feel they cheated me and then refused to refund my money when I called and complained. And even now I'm not sure if they intend to keep the two $24.95 they charged me or not. The girl was not sure on that point and she was rude when I asked for an explanation. She said I had waited too long and would be charged for that.
