Randy Ronk and Son Quality Painting Reviews (48)

I am rejecting this response because: We have already contracted and paid a respectable painter to the entire propertyWe have basically paid twice The work had to be re-doneWe do not give you permissionThere is no reason for you to "inspect" it or ever return to our propertyWe have submitted the requested payment information and your work was documented in photos and submitted to the Revdex.com as evidence

Business states that the services charged for were rendered. All work was  conveyed and approved by the consumer before it was done. Actual cost of the total job was more than she was charged for. Business stands by their position and have the signed documentation to back it up. Business would like to apologize for any miscommunication in regards to any refund that may have led to this misunderstanding. If the workmanship was ever in question the business would have made sure to rectify the matter. Consumer is still under warranty in case any workmanship issues may arise.

I spoke with [redacted] he stated that he is honoring his warranty. He is prorating which is well within his right as a contractor. Being that most of the damage is cause by animals. He again will provide the labor if the Diagnosis will provide the material.

I am rejecting this response because: They were given plenty of time to fix it. He only now offers help because we filed the complaint.  He knows he would have to buy more paint supply's and that's why he stopped.   We have all the pictures of the bad workmanship from the painting to the deck work underneath.  We requested work to be done over and over again and every time they said they would come out they never did.  If they did show up once he would only paint a small portion it was wrong color or incomplete. We have found paint rollers in greet that were tossed into the bushes and not thrown away.  He left garbage bags on the property for several months I have that in a text message requesting them to be take away over and over again.  The work performed was bad and sloppy.  We had no desire to have him re-do his sloppy job. We had the whole deck, trim and railings re-painted.  We have no mold on fence posts or bubbling or white primer spots showing like when Mr Ronk did it.  All the carpentry work under the deck Mr Ronk had done was not to code and his employee was picked up on a warrant and never returned. Attached are completed photos and invoices for the work that was re-done. We are requesting some money be returned to us as settlement. Image link:https://goo.gl/photos/fYeRqKbpFE1xg5Ji7

As per our conversation on 9/15/2016. I would like to offer to [redacted], that if he would supply me with copies of all invoices for any carpentry that was done for the underside of the deck, I would be willing to review the documents, compromise and cooperate to see if we can reach a settlement for this issue. If you could please have [redacted] supply me with all info necessary to settle this issue, I would appreciate it.  I know that we replaced some deck boards and did some leveling. There are some left over materials that could be reused by a subsequent person. However the person that he is talking to is not a general contractor. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you in advance

I am rejecting this response because: painting...

contractor did not use [redacted] paint as previously discussed with worksheet breakdown of what  the colors of paint to be used from [redacted] walls were supposed to be impressive Ivory and backwall   I'm qua most point both in satin and they trim around the windows were to be painted in impressive Ivory semi gloss none of these colors batch . I had to repaint entire building out-of-pocket $2900 for painting 500 for missed Elenius plates and covers switches locks doorhandles computer wiring please make note that I tried to contact rock painting three straight days in a row with no reply that led me to you

I am rejecting this response because: He is correct we did make arrangements for him to return. They postponed it til May, due to " rainy season" . May has come and gone and no response from them until further action was taken. Therefore I feel they did not hold up to their promise nor did their work hold up by any means to any standard that is acceptable. The result I would like it refund for the poor workmanship that was performed. Followed by the poor customer service. You could tell when they came out to the property and we showed them the poor workmanship and the unpainted and lack of oil staining that they were giving lip service and postponing to put us off.. Gee I think we could count the rainy days on one hand from Feb. to May.

I thought that in good faith we were in the process of trying to settle this issue. However it appears that the customer has jumped the gun, and had repainting done which I really don't understand.  I was going to have the property re reviewed and verified that there was adequate and up to quality standards in all painting of the project, which is a practice of my business that I have owned for 20 years and does more painting than any other painting contractor in any of the mountain counties. At this point I am in the process of retirement and turning the business over to my son. I'm not sure of what more assistance I can be to this customer at this point. Like I said before, I thought in good faith that we were trying to resolve this issue. However it appears impossible at this point as he has covered any evidence of his position. Thank you in advance, let me know if there is any other info that I could provide you.

I believe to the best of my knowledge and understanding of my agreement with [redacted], that my company has completed and satisfied all agreement both verbal and written. When we went out to finish and clean up he said he did not want me or my crew back on his property, so I cannot mitigate any issues with that kind of conditions put on me. I am always willing to discuss with a customer something that they feel is a legitimate complaint and I would take care of to the best of my ability. I've had the property inspected by [redacted] Representatives who said that everything seemed to be up to industry standard. My bid included nothing below the lip of the deck which he had almost a solid lattice and we couldn't even see anything under there, much less bid anything. So if the customer wants to further problem solve, I am always willing to work with them. It's unfortunate this job turned the way it did, I've done everything I could to satisfy the customer and will continue to do so, if allowed.Thank you, have a great day.

ID 11548742   [redacted]The paint job is not acceptable and whenever we complained more delays occurred and more bad touch up attempts. We have been more than willing to work it out and gave them plenty of time to do it. He shook our hands took our money and did a horrible job. We were taken advantage of.Here is a link to pictures showing the bad sloppy paintinghttps://goo.gl/photos/zRvmk7r3YVrR5qtJ9You will see different color paints being used, some kind of white paint not for outside use put down when paint bubbled, deck posts that were put in and not connected properly, pictures of the missed spots and splatter, the deck posts were not cleaned all the way and there was still mildew on them.Thank you for your help.

I am rejecting this response because: [redacted] Ronk’s attempts to correct the issues have almost spanned a year. I believe we have given him plenty opportunity to fix issues. Each time we brought up new or old issues (bubbles in the paint, deck stain on all surfaces and trims that connect to the deck (rock wall surrounding house, trim, posts etc), [redacted] said he would correct but weeks and months went by.  He mentions that he did not agree to painting the bottom half of deck, but we have a text message that he put a clear coat to help protect it.  The frustration and reason we asked him to stop work was due to his many excuses that he did what was expected, our continuous time begging him to get the job to get done that was originally supposed to be completed the first week of October of 2015 and his lack of response to all of the issues at hand.   There are basic painting items that should be done and were agreed upon when we met with him, a good example is that his crew sealed mildewed sections of the deck without treating them (who would do this?).  In addition to this, [redacted] wouldn’t return our calls until we threatened to file charges.  We couldn’t wait another year to have our deck properly sealed and treated so we hired another painter to fix the work [redacted]’s crew did as well as the subpar deck work, which has cost us almost $6,000 (this does not include the money we gave [redacted]).   Because of [redacted] unprofessional behavior and excuses to NOT get the job done, we would like to get compensated for some of these additional expenses.

Ireceived a notice about this complaint yesterday 8/31/2015 stating that it was going to the board for review. Unfortunately this was the first notice I have recieved. Thankfully the customer has since been satisfied, I have even spoken with [redacted] about 10 minutes ago and he stated all of the...

specifications have been met to his satisfaction.Should you need further information please do not hesitate to contact me at###-###-####.Thank you,Randy Ronk, Owner

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I am rejecting this response because:Winter was not an issue.  [redacted] started the paint project in September 2015 and kept making excuses on why he couldn’t complete it.  It was only supposed to take 2 to 3 weeks.   [redacted] claims we don’t understand the weather in that area but we have owned other Cabins in the Grizzly Flats area which is at the same altitude.  We have also been traveling and spending time in the area for 30 years. We also had deck projects started in Sept of prior years and never had a job last 8 to 9 months to complete.  We had construction and professional painters within the Pioneer, Placerville and Tahoe area’s come by our Pioneer house and they all had the same comment – this is a “crappy job” and they would be embarrassed to have their name on this job.  Online reviews and other complaints of [redacted] business shows his substandard work ethic and again the only reason he stopped work in October is because my husband paid him in full.   We don’t accept [redacted]’s response and he should be responsible for some of the additional money we spent to fix his “crappy” deck work and paint job.

When the project was complete in Spring of 2014 the homeowner gave her full approval (with compliments) on the project. When we received several messages from her son (same morning) we contacted him immediately and scheduled an appointment to look at the project. At that point Randy & [redacted] Ronk agreed to correct any issues that they were unhappy with. Upon speaking with [redacted] we were told we were NOT allowed back on the property and NOT to take any corrective action they had someone else do the work. I do not see that I am financially responsible for them hiring another contractor to "take care" of the issue for I was and still am willing to correct any and all issues on the project.

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the consumer in reference to complaint ID .11548742, , and find that arbitration is necessary. Sincerely,[redacted]

Here is a link for photos of deck and house.  Also this complaint is not just about the deck paint but the outdoor railing paint, doors, house trim work and deck posts.  All was supposed to be done.  We did not pay that much for a coat of paint only on the deck.  From the pictures you can see white boards those were bubbling and re done with a spray can of white paint not made for the deck.  The fence posts were not cleaned and peeped properly so anything applied to them would cover up the mold. These are the vertical fence posts in picture showing this. The sloppy paint work and splatters are noted. Also the two different color green used on the railing. Invoices attached and new checks paid for clean up work by other contractors. As stated before we paid Ronk almost $6000 up front. A portion returned to cover supplies is all we are asking for.  We do not want any work done by Ronk again. Link for photos:    https://goo.gl/photos/up5x7KVnmAqKfFgC6

I have spoken with [redacted] about this project. Last year Mrs. [redacted] retained an attorney in which we all agreed to make the repairs needed. On the agreed upon date [redacted] personally went to the project and completed said repairs. Upon completion that afternoon Mr. [redacted] approved...

all of the work as satisfactory. We are a bit baffled as to why a complaint has been filed for we have heard nothing from the [redacted]s nor their attorney after said repairs were made and approved. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me at [redacted]Sincerely, [redacted]

God morning [redacted], We are currently in the process of a law suit with this customer for non payment. However we did use the product  ([redacted] ). All the painting was approved upon completion by the contractor and bank manager.

Upon receiving your email (I believe dated July 3, 2014) we attempted contact with [redacted]. I spoke with her daughter [redacted] who stated that she did not care to resolve the issue that she no longer wanted us on the property. That we were NOT to go out and attempt repairs for they hired someone...

else to the work.
