Randy Ronk and Son Quality Painting Reviews (48)

[redacted] did come by my house to "fix" my deck. He was here for about 1/2 an hour with a slightly different paint color. He told my husband that the deck was to hot to paint and that he would be back to finish the next evening. He never called to reschedule nor did he ever come back. I did not tell him that I was satisfied with his work. One look at my deck, still today, you can instantly see the issues and cause for concern. With the advice from my lawyer, I was not to continue to ask him to fix it as it was clear he was not going to. The next step was to file a lawsuit. I've decided to try this first.

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of Arbitration. If you wish, you may update it before sending it.]Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID .11548742, , and find that arbitration is necessary. Sincerely,[redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: Originally Mr Ronk said he "spoke" to [redacted] because they gave him the wrong color but he still applied the wrong color to over half the deck.  There was never any mention before of having a rep come out to the house. Mr Ronk barely came to the house so I do not believe that is true. Also how do you paint the top board and not the edges but you painted  below the edges? That make no sense. As show in evidence provided to the Revdex.com. We spent almost a year trying to get [redacted] to respond and fix the issues we brought up on a monthly basis.  He made excuse after excuse and we couldn’t wait another year to fix our deck so we were required to hire a professional painter.   HE WAS GIVEN PLENTY OF OPPORTUNITY TO DO THE WORK; We have purchased many houses over the years and dealt with numerous painters and contractors and it’s evident that [redacted] is a crook and a con artist.  As soon as he received payment we couldn’t get him on the phone for months until we threatened him with action.  As every “professional” that we had out to our house said, “that man should be ashamed of this job”. He took advantage of a hard working family. We have never had a Revdex.com complaint nor have we took any of the professional corporations that helped us with our numerous houses over the years to court.  This was a miserable experience that nobody should have to go through. Some kind of refund is in order.

Review: I higher Randy Ronk & Son to paint my house, carport, shed and deck. When [redacted] came out for an estimate, we discussed that the already peeling deck was our issue and the reason for painting. He said he could take care of it and he gave a 84 mo guarantee on his work. The house went smoothly. The carport and shed went ok, but the deck was terrible. The deck was hardly scrapped, and ever sanded. The old peeling paint was left on. They painted the deck the wrong color, witch we were ok with, but with in less then a year it was bubbling and peeling. It just keeps getting worse. He came out a couple of times to "fix" the problem, but instead of fixing it, he used yet another brand of paint that didn't match in spots all over my deck and it is still peeling all over the deck and railings. I had to clean up all the paint chips they did scrape off and left for over a year.Desired Settlement: I want a refund for my deck and his buisness license revoked. He should never be allowed to do this to another customer. He clearly doesn't know what he's doing.

Response:

I have spoken with [redacted] about this project. Last year Mrs. [redacted] retained an attorney in which we all agreed to make the repairs needed. On the agreed upon date [redacted] personally went to the project and completed said repairs. Upon completion that afternoon Mr. [redacted] approved all of the work as satisfactory.

Review: Randy was hired to paint an empty house we just purchased. He stated it would take 3 days. He sent someone who never worked for him in the house and the person basically destroyed the place using no drop cloths, ruing all the linoleum, counters, and took weeks to do nothing but make the place worse than when they started. 6 weeks later, (I had already Paid Randy weeks ago in full, ($2400) I am still being lied to by Randy as to when he will finish. It was supposed to take 3 days. I can never get a call back or a status. This place is 3 hours a way from my main residence so I have to drive there once a week to see that I have been lied to again by Randy. He is by far the most unconscionable, inept, irresponsible, incompetent lying vendor I have ever worked with. He has set my floor install back weeks and was supposed to refund at least 50% of the money but he won't. He just keeps leading me on with a once in a while phone call to apologize. I have never been so insulted and disrespected by one company in mu life. Randy Ronk Quality Painting??? What a joke...!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will see him in court for twice the $2400 he robbed me for.Desired Settlement: Full refund.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: Randy Ronk guarantees the lowest price, that is one of the reasons I hired him,he under bid the painters I was going to hire by $300.00 and said the job would take 5 days. Bid was to paint my complete house, garage, deck rails and repair and paint small storage room attached to back of garage. This was on Aug 3,2015 it is now Oct 6,2015 still not completed or has his promises been kept. He started the job on Aug 3rd, that same day he asked for $850.00, $600. to purchase painting supplies and $200. for materials to fix a small area attached to garage which I paid again on Aug 7th he came and asked for $1000. to pay his workers again I paid him. On Aug 14th again asked for money $1400, again I paid.Totals $3250.00 which is $300. more that his verbal quote of $2950.00 He said because he used better paint on the deck rails when I said I had not ok'd the additional cost, he agreed and said he would refund the money. He had not finished the job as yet, he promised it would be completed within a week. In Sept (over a month later) still not completed he did finally have his son work on the storage room, he left a mess, [redacted] said he would send someone to clean up and remove all his garbage. 2 wks later the garbage was picked up. Still not completed,he calls once in a while after I have left several messages to say he will have it done in a week, when I asked about the refund his words to me were "thats not going to happen". He said the job cost him more money. He is suppose to be the contractor and know what it is going to cost, not me. He has lied and lied to me now he is not even returning my calls. [redacted] has lied again and again not kept is word I wonder if he treats all his customers this way or is it just me. When I paid him in full he again promised he would not risk his reputation by not honoring his word. Well this is Oct 6th they painting is not complete I have not received a refund. If I paid for all the supplies, should I not have unused materials?Desired Settlement: I would like to have the painting finished and a refund as he promised. I don't think I am being unfair as it has been over 2 months. He was paid in full, he should honor his word.

Response:

To the best of my knowledge the issues with this customer have all been resolved as of late last week. If there are still things not complete we were not made aware.

Review: Painting contractor didn't use [redacted] Products, resulting in colors that do not match existing walls Called contractor four times no return call need to repaint job, In [redacted] colors that was on the spec sheet . Contractor left numerous problems after his paint job including Missing door latches computer wires unplugged that were not previously identified Broken copy machine print catcher, The most frustrating part is no response from ronk painting, as the contractor I am responsible to see the job done right I will be out Of pocket a second paint job , as my witnesses to these events are bank managers and corporate managers. The paint they used isn't even close I will send pictures of their paint versus the colors needed. I'm an even keel man and respect others for their profession But this to me is totally unprofessional thank you.Desired Settlement: Repayment of my out of cost to paint In sherwin Williams coloors

Response:

God morning [redacted], We are currently in the process of a law suit with this customer for non payment. However we did use the product ([redacted] ). All the painting was approved upon completion by the contractor and bank manager.

Review: Had Randy Ronk and Son estimate and do painting of my home in Feb 2014. Says has 84 month warranty currently paint already peeling and some areas are bare/ not complete. Called them and they came out in March, they said was rainy season and would correct when " rainy season" over, and they would contact us by end of May. Have never heard from them. The original job was to include : clean, recaulk , oil prime bare wood and repaint all paintable surfaces of exterior building as well as the deckDesired Settlement: Full refund. They didn't oil prime the wood. They painted over a dusty house ( not cleaned ) there is still bare wood exposed. The job is very shoddy at best.

Upon receiving your email (I believe dated July 3, 2014) we attempted contact with [redacted]. I spoke with her daughter [redacted] who stated that she did not care to resolve the issue that she no longer wanted us on the property. That we were NOT to go out and attempt repairs for they hired someone else to the work.

Business

Response:

When the project was complete in Spring of 2014 the homeowner gave her full approval (with compliments) on the project. When we received several messages from her son (same morning) we contacted him immediately and scheduled an appointment to look at the project. At that point Randy & [redacted] Ronk agreed to correct any issues that they were unhappy with. Upon speaking with [redacted] we were told we were NOT allowed back on the property and NOT to take any corrective action they had someone else do the work. I do not see that I am financially responsible for them hiring another contractor to "take care" of the issue for I was and still am willing to correct any and all issues on the project.

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: He is correct we did make arrangements for him to return. They postponed it til May, due to " rainy season" . May has come and gone and no response from them until further action was taken. Therefore I feel they did not hold up to their promise nor did their work hold up by any means to any standard that is acceptable. The result I would like it refund for the poor workmanship that was performed. Followed by the poor customer service. You could tell when they came out to the property and we showed them the poor workmanship and the unpainted and lack of oil staining that they were giving lip service and postponing to put us off.. Gee I think we could count the rainy days on one hand from Feb. to May.
