We found this company after having two blower motors burn out due to the incompetence of the techs from Beutler. Mike and Ray O. C[redacted] is a God send. We also had them replace the heating & air unit in our rental property. The co. is very professional, reputable, respectful, & great quality service. Mike is now our permanent heating & air guy. We signed up for the maintenance membership so now only he will touch our system! He is professional, respectful, knowledgeable, personable, great job knowledge, explains everything so that I understand, and a sincere desire to help each & every customer to complete satisfaction with the services.

We had our complete HVAC system replaced and upgraded by Ray O. Cook Heating and Air (916)784-6525 and we are very happy with the result and installation process. Their rep., Paul McHugh, was very professional, made sure we understood the technical aspects of the systems presented, responded quickly to any calls to him with questions during the selection process and followed up to make sure everything was done to our satisfaction. The installation went seamlessly and the crew was punctual, professional, pleasant, knowledgable and cleaned up along the way. We have a big house, 2 zone system with a Smart Vent so it was not a simple job.

We interviewed 5 companies over a 1 week period spending about 2 hours with each company. Ray O. Cook won our trust! We highly recommend them.

Ray O'Cook HVAC service has been very professional for taking care of our A/C and heating system. We have them come out and service spring and fall. They are very straight forward about the system and explain the options and cost without any pressure. We would recommend them to any of our neighbors or family.

Review: We have been customers for over 15 years. On July 11, 2013, a service technician came to our

residence to provide the semi-annual maintenance as per the service contract we paid for in

advance. Unlike in prior years, when we received a reminder, this year I had to call to schedule

the maintenance. I told the scheduler that the AC unit was tripping a circuit in the hot weather

we were then experiencing.

The technician attempted to diagnose the problem but seemed confused by the wiring of the

system. He was unable to get the unit to function and advised me verbally that most likely we

needed two new compressors. Given the expense of compressors, he advised that we consider

purchasing a new unit rather than doing the repair. He did not clean the unit nor come inside

to clean the filters.

On July 16, 2013, a technician from another company diagnosed and repaired the problem with

the AC unit and performed needed maintenance for a total cost of $168.00. He stated that

there were several loose wires at the main circuit board and that the condenser coil was very

dirty. After testing the compressors, he stated that they were both in excellent shape. He

showed me the meter readings and the relevant specifications listed on the side panel of the

unit. The unit is now functioning without any problems~

Steven B[redacted] was the technician for a Spring checkup date on my heating/ac/ system. He was on time, did the system check, explained the results, gave me reason for his suggestions with prices. Very pleasant, business like and definetely and asset to your company.

Had service work done on 4-19-16. Nick was on time, courteous and professional. Diagnosed a problem and gave me a fair price for the part needing replacement.

Review: I was mailed a flier for this company advertising their 59 dollar tune-up and it had pictures of the services offered, and guarantees etc, seemed very promising to have my heater serviced, I called and set asking many questions and wanted to be sure I'd get what I was paying for. The woman I spoke to claimed yes I would have a service done and my heater would be cleaned etc, I setup an appointment and when the technician got here all he told me was the system is all dirty and old and needs new parts, or cleaning. I told him this was not a service but a check and that the flier I was sent was false advertisement and I was told I would receive a tune-up not a diagnosis. I called the company to complain after and they just told me that everything is in smaller font on the back of the flier. I'm said that is not fair and not at all what you advertised or told me. I would like a refund of my money because this diagnosis did me absolutely no good as I already knew everything this technician told me.Desired Settlement: I already knew everything that this technician told me and I was expecting a tuneup as advertised not a diagnosis. I should not be paying for this false advertisement. Thank you

Review: I have been without AC for over a month which has had mostly 100 degree weather because of this company. Initially, I called them out for an AC tune-up special. They came out and said two parts needed replacement which totaled nearly $700. They "gave me a discount" so I replaced the two parts. Their guarantee/warranty for their AC tune-up says that if you do all recommended repairs, they guarantee your system will work throughout the rest of the season. Not even two months later (the last week in July) my AC breaks and is only blowing hot air. I called them and asked them to come out and check what the problem was according to their warranty. I was told the technician never conducted the AC tune-up I called them out for, so they would only cover the two parts if there were issues with those. Because I needed to know what the problem was, I told them to just come and check. I was then told I needed a new motor (OR a new system entirely) which would be a minimum of $900 for them to do because a filter from a vent had flown into the motor and broken it. I have only used filters that are the appropriate measurements so I don't know how the filter even got in there. I didn't trust the company so I had another person come out to take a look. I was told 1) the motor worked just fine but the pieces that held it had broken off with the filter (but the connectors could not be reattached so I had to buy an entirely new motor) 2) they had turned off my gas to my furnace so I would be forced to call them back in the fall for the heater to work again 3) the previous technician had tripped a fuse so the power wouldn't work in the unit and even after replacing the fuse the new technician couldn't get power to the unit because they had done something to it so it wouldn't work and he couldn't figure out what it was. I have three pets that have had problems with the heat, other companies can't figure out what they did and I still don't have AC.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund for the initial service call/two replacement parts, a refund for the new motor I had to purchase (either due to the incomplete AC tune-up/full system check or due to the intentional causing of the problem), a refund of the interim portable AC unit I had to purchase, and I want any repairs that are needed for the rest of the year to be paid for by the company since they intentionally sabotaged my AC AND furnace systems a minimum of two times.

On 8/25/14 I submitted a complaint for Ray O Cook Heating and Air. The complaint was assigned ID [redacted]. Last week the company came out and repaired my A/C to working order. Please close the complaint against the business.

We have been doing business with Ray O. Cook Heating and Air for many years now; they have installed two furnaces for us. It is the fifth or sixth year of the current furnace and it was difficult to determine exactly what was causing the unusual and periodic sound, but we had faith in the Cook's professional technician. He studied and analyzed the furnace operation, pulled apart certain operating sections, to determine that a capacitor was malfunctioning. This was replaced and the furnace is back to normal.

Mike T responded to a service call we made. Our A/C had a cycling problem. He was there within a few hours of our call and quickly was able to determine that a leak in the evaporatour coil was the problem. He was very informative and skilled using his tools and knowledge and sharing his findings. He was instrumental in scheduling a very fast replacement. Service rep was very professional, neat, and explained completely the work he would be doing today. I definitely will recommend this company to my friends and neighbors.

This was the first time I did business with Ray O. Cook company. I was VERY impressed and delighted with the service.
