each of which were members of the VIP Family program so he could save 10% and
receive free shipping on all purchases from the accounts.
As
requested, we have canceled Mr***’s VIP Membership, refunded his renewal fee
on 7/31/2015, and merged his two accounts to prevent any future
miscommunication.

Thank you for the prompt responseRoad Runner Sports is not being honest about this matter and is merely stating what their company policy is and not what they practiceWe did ask for our membership to be cancelled and verified that it was been cancelledHowever, Road Runner Sports charged us for a new year membershipWe were never mailed a new membership package and if you were to check you will see that we do not have a membership with Road Runner Sports but have been charged via my credit card for a new year membershipAll of this is easily verifiableThis should not have been a difficult issue to resolve and I am not sure why they are unable to bring this issue to closureIt seems that I will have to take this issue to social media to bring an awareness about Road Runner Sports practices regarding charging your credit card after you have opted out of a membership agreementThey are hoping that the consumer does not check their card close enough to notice the small membership charge

We reviewed Ms ***’s supporting document and agree that she did not make any other purchases with Road Runner Sports using that credit card during the time period of 1/to current. We are very sorry to have caused any inconvenience or confusion to Ms***. As promised, we have cancelled the membership that she was enrolled in, and issued a refund to her American Express card. ***, he had attempted on multiple occurrences to cancel his enrollment in the Road Runner Sports VIP membership program. Unfortunately, our records indicate that we did not receive any correspondence from Mr*** to our company on those dates listed of 2/29/16, 2/25/15, or 2/26/14. In addition to additional discounts and savings, one of the benefits of the VIP membership program is a convenient automatic renewal. This is a risk free membership which the customer can cancel at anytime and be refunded the membership fees. We try to make it as easy as possible to opt out of the membership program by providing several convenient ways to cancel, which include: calling our Customer Service department, visiting a local Road Runner Sports retail store, logging into roadrunnersports.com, or writing to us, via email or US mail. We are sorry that Mr*** had a difficult time to cancel his membership. In order to make Mr***’s issue resolved, I have cancelled his existing membership per his request, processed a refund to his credit card, which takes 3-business days to complete, and ensured he will not receive any future renewal charges. Thank you for your inquiry filed by [redacted].The order was placed on 2/8, shipped directly from the vendor on 2/12.  During this process, the package became lost. At that point we filed a Trace with the carrier in which we require 8 business days to reach out to the shipping carrier/vendor...

to follow up on the package.  We direct our customers to follow up within 8 business days if their package has not arrived.  If the package was not found or delivered, we issue a refund or place a new order. On 3/8 we issued a refund in the amount of $97.51. On 3/8, we reached out to the customer to inform her of the refund. On 3/9, a voicemail was left encouraging the customer to contact us so we could provide clarification as to what occurred and offered to place a new order and take an additional 10% off her next order for the inconvenience. We really hope she accepts our apology for any confusion and would be more than happy to still offer the additional 10% discount off her next order. Thank you,[redacted]Road Runner Sports

Roadrunner Sports has, indeed, now more than made good the unauthorized charges which it made to my credit card. I find its response unacceptable, however, because it chooses to lie about the fact that, in the spring of 2016, it was in fact notified by me that I wished to discontinue my VIP membership and that it was "NOT authorized to charge ANY credit card in my name for ANY membership fee or for any other purpose."  See attached letter dated April 8, 2016. In point of fact, Roadrunner Sports simply ignored that letter.  It not only did not refund my unauthorized membership fee for 2016 -- which action I had not requested -- but it simply left my information on file and, in the spring of 2017 once again charged my credit card for this unauthorized fee. I reject categorically any suggestion that Roadrunner did not receive my April 8, 2016 letter, which was sent to the address which Roadrunner listed on its website as a contact for regular U.S. mail.It is quite easy to find multiple on-line complaints such as mine, a number of which are attached.  The point is that Roadrunner follows a practice of making unauthorized charges of this nature in the expectation that a significant percentage of its customers will not notice the charges or will elect not to take the time and trouble to pursue reimbursement.  When someone such as myself does take the time to expose this practice, it simply claims that the whole thing was an unfortunate mistake and refunds the fees. I have no doubt but that it will continue this practice until and unless it becomes the subject of a class action lawsuit or adverse regulatory action by a consumer protection agency.So, again, the money which Roadrunner attempted to take from me has been refunded.  If you want to close this case on that basis, fine. I am not, however, satisfied with the result because Roadrunner has made no representation that it will cease and desist from the practice of making similar unauthorized charges in the future.

[redacted]   It appears Ms. [redacted] attempted to place an order for a pair of sandals on 6/23/16 using a non-advertised savings code that an online shopping blog chose to make public. Road Runner Sports did not advertise the promotional code.  The savings code had specific exclusions attached to it, one of which was Sandals.  Unfortunately the shopping blog did not choose to disclose the exclusions that accompanied the promotional code.     Road Runner Sports however lists our exclusions on our website. Furthermore, after reviewing the call Ms. [redacted] made to Road Runner Sports on 6/25/16, we do not hear any evidence to her implication of our website being ‘hacked.’  The communication was that one of our promotional codes was ‘hacked.’  This was a poor use of words on behalf of a Road Runner Sports Customer Care Representative.  None the less Ms. [redacted] was not told the website had been ‘hacked.’   We apologize for any confusion regarding Ms [redacted] shopping experience.     Sincerely,
