Republic of Durable Goods Reviews (%countItem)

On June 12, 2020 I purchased a hammock from Republic of Durable Goods Order # is SP-#7106. They processed payment on the same day. I have not received the hammock as of today August 1, 2020. Multiple email attempts to contact the company have gone unanswered or bounced back as undeliverable for the most part. The company sent out an email announcement of problems they are having with their shippers and provided an email address to contact for a refund. Now messages to that email go unanswered. I tried contacting the CFO Eva Zhang at [email protected]. Messages to her have also gone unanswered. If you could intercede so I might get a refund for my purchase, or suggest another means of doing that, I would be most sincerely appreciative. I am at a loss as to how to continue at this point in time. I look forward to your reply and to resolving this matter. Best regards, Pat

I purchased and paid for, online, a product called a Mock One Hammock from the Republic of Durable Goods on May 27, 2020. The product was backordered but was to ship within 10 business days. The product did not arrive within the expected two weeks, and the company failed to provide updates or information unless repeatedly asked. They noted that there were issues with the ship carrying the product--that it couldn't dock--but would, in early June. The product was to ship June 19th according to this update. I still did not receive the product. Eventually, after a couple more inquiry emails, I was told that there were issues with the fulfillment warehouse/company, and they were working through those. I was told I'd get my product in a couple of weeks. No product arrived. I contacted them again, whereupon the company said, in as many words, that they'd rather lost control of the shipment/fulfillment process, and implied I'd have to try to get my refund on my own, and I was provided two other email addresses. I cc'ed these two folks, plus Chris *** (of Mock One) and the RDG customer service email address noting that my patience was up, and I wanted a refund (which they said I could request). I requested the refund and was told it would take 3-5 business days. It has now been about 10-14 business days, and I have not received a refund, nor has anyone responded to my most recent requests.

ordered an item to ship to me in denver, my home. order placed 5/21. on 5/28, receive FedEx notification item has been delivered to an address in Sanibel, FL. I don't and never have lived there. reach out to customer service and they say they have distribution problems. they will send another one. it's now 2 months without the item. I paid by paypal. I want my money back or I want the item within this week

I made a purchase of a Mock ONE Compact Portable Folding Hammock with Stand and Carry Bag in May that was due to ship May 31. I have received several emails notifying me of the delay. The latest email from Republic of Durable Goods states that "There are two companies Alpha Mart Holdings (Alphamarts.com) and Cocam International Enterprises Ltd (Cocamusa.com) are willfully holding the shipment of products you paid for. They are the major owners in Republic of Durable Goods. We recommend you reporting both these companies to the Federal Trade Commission and the Revdex.com with the details of your experience. Please know we are working tirelessly to get your products to you as fast as possible as a small company being taken advantage of by a larger one. It’s the classic David vs. Goliath story, but this time it’s the 10,000 of you in the Republic who will take down the bad guys." I've emailed both companies and have gotten a response from Eva Zhang, copied here: "Dear Customer of Republic of Durable Goods: We are in receipt of your recent e-mail addressed to Alpha Mart Holdings, LLC (“AMH”). Be advised that AMH is not the company from whom you have ordered products. Rather the company with whom you have placed your order is Advanced Outdoor Innovations, LLC – a Delaware limited liability company trading as Republic of Durable Goods.® (“AOI-DE”). Accordingly, AMH has forwarded your e-mail to me for response. Due to circumstances that are currently being investigated and addressed, we are having difficulty verifying the recent order that you placed with AOI-DE and the payment you made for that order, thereby preventing your order from being filled at this time. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. We are doing everything we can to rectify the current situation so as to enable AOI-DE to either fill your order or provide you a refund as soon as possible. We will notify you when we have the necessary information to verify your order and payment. Th

I place my order on June 18, 2020. Received confirmation of the order. Received an email from the company on June 26th stating that they were having issues with filling the orders and if I wanted a refund, how to go about the refund. It also stated to bare with them that they would hopefully be shipping again in 1-3 weeks. I emailed on July 8th for status. I was told that they were still working on getting orders out and that there would be an email on Friday July 10th. No email - no follow up at all. I emailed today (July 17th) stating that I had not heard from them. I was told to contact eva@republicofdurablegoods. or [email protected] for updates. I was then told - One last thought from the Founders of the Republic of Durable Goods.

Make Happy and this is where I find myself now makeing this claim. I can produce all emails if needed. Victoria

On Jun7 I purchased a hammock from this company, and submitted a payment of 196.47. At that time, I received an email stating that my purchase would be shipped within 1-3 weeks. On June 11, I emailed to ask about the status of my order. Again, I was assured my order was in the warehouse and would be shipped in 1-3 weeks. On June 13, I emailed to offer to pick up my order since I live in the Twin cities area. The reply was that I couldn't pick it up because the in was in the warehouse and it would mess up their tracking system. Since then I have made numerous attempts to get the status of my order. Now, the most recent email from them tells me that two companies are now holding my order ‘hostage’. I have requested a refund but so far, no other response from them. It seems this company is fraudulent and I just want my money back.

I received a product that was damaged and notified them on 5/17. They immediately responded and gave apologies and said new hammock fabric would be sent. After 2 weeks of no communication, I sent another email without a response. A reviewed the product online and got an immediate response. They sent me a tracking number, upon my request, however, according to the tracking information, never delivered the item to the postal service. I have now disputed the charge on my credit card.

I was trying to be patient during COVID, but I don’t appreciate being lied to or a company not fulfilling responsibilities.

Republic of Durable Goods Response • Jul 17, 2020

Hi Ashley -

I am writing that we responded to the customer thoroughly and on a weekly basis. We resolved the issue with this customer on July 4th and she removed her payment dispute. This was completed before 7/17 and the final notice letter from the BB. I assumed the complaint was withdrawn weeks ago.

See attached documentation of our conversations with this customer.

Can you please confirm has been received and resolved? or if you have further questions.

Regards,

Chris
