Review: This company has been charging my credit/ debt card for 20 months @ $29.95 since 8/23/2013 without my authorization. This is totally a scam and needs to be addressed so this can be stopped .Desired Settlement: Yes I should be refunded because I did not authorize this. When I phoned them they were not very helpful and said NO REFUND will be given. This matter should be taken care of so this does not happen again to others.

Review: These guys like so many others on the internet have a 14 day trial for $1.95, I thought it was a one time only fee, but that's not the issue. I started their trial on 7-2-14 and was billed $40 on 7-18-14 to my surprise. Well no one answered when I called on the 18th, so I left a message requesting a call back. They very rudely explained that it was not a one time fee of $1.95 that it was a 14 day trial. So I advised them to cancel that I did not want that and they did but they wouldn't refund me or prorate my usage. I was out of town on both days, when I made the call and when they called me back, so I had no other means to contact them other than phone because I was camping. Why are these companies allowed to take your trial money then bill you continuously until you cancel? Why cant we just pay the money and if there is a trial period after that they cancel or notify you in some way that they will bill you again but a way that you choose?Desired Settlement: I would like my money to be at the very least prorated, there are 31 days in July at 39.95 for the month comes out to a 1.29/day. I'll give them the Benefit of the doubt since I didn't technically didn't cancel until 7-21-14, 5 days after I was supposed (not that I didn't try), 5 days at 1.29 comes out to 6.45 minus that from the 39.95 monthly fee I would like to reimbursed $33.49. Thank you for your time.

Review: I paid $5 to use their online resume software, printed out my resume and thought that was the end of it. To my horror I found my credit card had been regularly billed @40 dollars Canadian per month for 7 months. When I noticed this I sent an email telling them what they were doing was fraud. In about ten minutes an email returned stating my 'membership' had been cancelled.

Nowhere did I see any mention of a monthly membership plan and would never have opted to pay $40 per month. I have now lost $300. I don't expect to see the money but I want others to be protected.Desired Settlement: they must clearly state their intention when billing a credit card. I am sure there was fine print in there somewhere but it was not clear at all what there intentions were with my credit card.

RGO Genius is a fraud. After a supposedly free trial, I was charged for 5 months consecutively, even after cancelling the trial THE SAME DAY. They provide no feedback or support, nor answer any calls. Be aware of this total scam!

Review: The company, resume genius, advertised that it would cost $7.95 a month for a year, the reciept came and I am out $95. I had contacted customer service, who refused to give me a direct phone number for a supervisor but gave me an email address, I emailed the supervisor who would not contact me until two weeks after inital contact. I had tried calling the next day to try and get this straightened out. The supervisor who was named [redacted], after expressing my discontent laughed at me. I have pasted the email that I sent to the manager, named [redacted]. This is the email that I had sent on June 24,

Hello,

My name is [redacted], I was on the Resume Genius website earlier today, 6/24 and I thought it was a good idea. I signed up for the program under the impression there was a monthly charge instead of an annual upfront fee.

I had canceled my account as soon as I saw my receipt and had expected a refund only to have the customer service representative, [redacted], say that my account was canceled but they do not give refunds.

I was able to speak with [redacted], the supervisor who laughed when I expressed my discontent

I would like a refund because I felt I was mislead because it said that it would cost $7.95 a month on the webpage.

Please contact me at your earliest convinence,

signed

She contacted me 12 days later on July 6 at 1:43, telling me the same thing that the company told me two weeks prior.Desired Settlement: I would like an apology from the Resume Genius upper management. They treated a paying customer poorly by laughing for their lack of knowledge and control of a situation. I would like the free resume builder, and the $1.95 and $7.95 words removed from their website. I am willing to pay for the month of services that has been used ($7.95)

Review: Resumegenius.com promised "FREE" resume, which was not true. I had completed all steps in typing free resume, but then asked for payment $1.95. I foolishly put in credit card for something touted as free. now I've been charged $39.95 which is monthly for something I found to be unacceptable even if it was free.Desired Settlement: cancel & refund $39.95

Review: I tried to cancel after the 14 day trial as I could not afford the 39.95 a month, but they claimed I did not cancel soon enough and charged me.

I tried to cancel after the 14 day trial as I could not afford the 39.95 a month, but they claimed I did not cancel soon enough and charged me. They allowed me to cancel the future subscription but forced me to keep the one month. The problem is I don't need or want the service and they are forcing it on me. I asked for a refund and for them to close my account but they openly refused several times. For a company who claims to help people to find work you think they would be more sensitive to financial issues.Desired Settlement: A refund of the 39.95 and to close my account. I don't mind if they even block me from having an account as well. I just do not care to do business with them at all period.

Review: Signed up to pay for a $2 resume, and when I got my credit card statement there was a $40 charge. They refuse to refund after contact.

Signed up to pay for a $2 resume, and when I got my credit card statement there was a $40 charge. Contacted them via live chat and they refused to refund me and were rude. They said by signing up I was subscribing to a month subscription and the $2 was for a 2 week trial to download a resume. They gave me no warning the 2 week trial was up and that I would be paying $38 additional if I didn't cancel my account. I did not download anything past the first day that would justify being charged for a month subscription.Desired Settlement: I expect to be refunded the $38 that was unjustly charged to our credit card.

Review: This is both a billing/collection issue and a customer service issue.

I signed up for a "free" 14 day trial for the resume service. I checked to make sure that there were no additional charges, however, I have been charged monthly (39.95) for 4 months.

I noticed this charge a month ago, and have been trying to reach their customer service for the last month. Most times that I have called, I got a message that there offices are closed. On 3 occasions I reached a person, but we kept getting cut off. Today, I talked with a person long enough to -hopefully- cancel the subscription. Even on this call we were cut off repeatedly, so I am nervous that I will continue to be charged.

I asked to be refunded the 4 months of charges on this last call, however the operator said he could not do this and would not let me talk to a manager.

I was respectful and calm on this call, even though we kept getting cut off and he refused to let me talk to a manager.

In addition to the problems that I have had communicating with this company on the phone, I have had trouble contacting them via the internet as well. Their website freezes or does not load regularly.

I do not believe that these communication problems are due to my internet and phone service. I work from home and depend on my phone & internet service daily and I do not typically have problems with my service.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the 4 months of charges that started after the 14 day free trial.

Review: I was given the choice after using the resume creator to do a $1.95 14 day-trial or a charge of $39.95 for 3 months of use. I chose $1.95. I was never told that if I did not cancel within 14days, that I would be automatically charged another $39.95, which happened on 8/6/15.Desired Settlement: I want a refund of the $39.95, which I feel was fraudulently charged to my card.

Review: I did a 14 day trail of this business and forgot to cancel my subscription. I am a very busy mom of two, nursing student, and work full time so it slipped my mind. I called them when I noticed the charge on my account. It was the very first day they charged me and called and asked if I could cancel and they could refund my money since it was the first did and I did not use it nor did I want to, they refused. Then they told me their "operations manager" did not have a direct phone number. They did nothing for me.Desired Settlement: I would like them to refund the payment they took without providing any services.

Review: I used resume genius in August and thought I was agreeing to a one time charge for 14 day access to their resume builder. I am aware NOW that there is a ridiculous fine print stating you will then charge my card every month for the 39.95 until I cancel. What a rip-off. Why do you even offer the 14 day trial if you are going to automatically then charge monthly? I have not received any notice of payments or ANY further communication from Resume Genius alerting me to my "fantastic" monthly subscription. You are making a business of ripping people off. I use the internet ALL the time and am no stranger to these charge until you cancel deals. I have NEVER been fooled before and am ashamed that there is a business taking advantage of others like this. If you are going to assume this subscription, you need to communicate the automatic deduction every month and send a receipt. Every good, honest business operates that way. Shame on you. You obviously are used to this type of complaint since your customer service happily emailed me the fine print that I missed. If this is such a problem you should actively try to correct the problem by sending customers monthly receipts for the charge.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund for the five months that I was taken advantage of. That would be a total of $199.75.

Hello,When the customer subscribed to our Trial subscription, He/She accepted our terms of agreement which stated that they would be receiving our subscription services and that the Trial would auto-renew into a Monthly subscription on a specific date. Our services are not a one time purchase, but an ongoing subscription. They had the option to cancel at any time during the 14 day trial period to prevent the auto-renewal and in order to avoid future charges. The cancellation process is very simple: Log in > My Account >> Plan Information >>> Cancel This will confirm that the account was successfully canceled. The customer will continue to have access to all of the features of our website until the next month at which time the access will be limited to the features of our Lite Account or Free Account. To download a digital copy of the resume for free they have the option to choose the TEXT format which will not require them to make any payments. However, all other services require a payment as stated above and according to our Terms of Use. No additional charges will be levied against their credit card as long as the account remains canceled. Should they reactivate the account, the credit card will be charged accordingly. When the customer purchased the account we provided instructions on how to cancel, along with the specific date and time at which the billing cycle would take place. We informed that it needed to be canceled on a timely manner. We recognize that the account is now cancelled, however, the cancellation came after the billing cycle had already occurred. The information regarding our Subscription Service is NOT in fine print and can be located in our Terms of Use, Plan Comparison, Sales Receipt, Plan Information and Alerts.I am sorry to inform this, but as per our Terms of Use, the customer is responsible for the charges incurred. However, I highly recommend using the services that he/she is now entitled to under their current subscription. Please let us know if you require any additional type of documentation to serve as evidence of the charges and our Terms of Use. We have a complete record of our correspondence in addition to time-stamped copies of when the customer agreed to our terms of service by registering in our website.Sincerely,[redacted]Senior ManagerRGO Technologies LLC

Review: Resume Genius offers a "free" resume download service for an initial fee of $1.99. They mention to you they offer a "PRO MEMBERSHIP" for 39.99 if you choose. Once you accept to pay the $1.99 initial fee, and give your credit card info, you get STUCK with an AUTOMATIC MONTHLY PAYMENT FEE of $39.99 NEVER do they tell you that you better read all terms where they will STICK you with this monthly fee!!!

I contacted the provider, WORST customer service possible. This guy kept telling me that I should have CANCEL my PRO membership within 14 days. I did not even request a Pro membership. He did not assist me or offered me any solution, just told me it was my fault for not canceling the PRO membership they stuck me with!

I realized about this racketing once I noticed on my bank statement the recurrent charge! I went to the website and said I could CANCEL! (No idea I was getting charged!!!) I had to cancel this account and I had to cancel my credit card!!!! Please do something about this thieves!!!Desired Settlement: For this company to return my money, or as much as possible!!! (5 months worth of charges!!!!!!!!)

Review: I just now noticed the charge on my credit card. I quit using the card a long time ago and have been working to pay it off, but it seemed like the balance went up this last time so I checked the transactions and I noticed recurring monthly charges of $29.95. It has been more than a year since I used a resume service and it was a one time charge of $4.95 - or so they said. I've stopped the charges on my credit card, but I want these people shut down. I can't believe scams like this can go on without punishment.Desired Settlement: I would like my money back of course, but it is more important this company is shut down so it can't do this to more people. They should be ashamed of themselves for misleading people and taking their money.

Hello,

When the customer subscribed to our Trial subscription, He/She accepted our terms of agreement which stated that they would be receiving our subscription services and that the Trial would auto-renew into a Monthly subscription on a specific date. Our services are not a one time purchase, but an ongoing subscription. They had the option to cancel at any time during the 7 day trial period to prevent the auto-renewal and in order to avoid future charges.

The cancellation process is very simple: Log in > My Account >> Plan Information >>> Cancel

This will confirm that the account was successfully canceled.

The information regarding our Subscription Service is NOT in fine print and can be located in our Terms of Use, Plan Comparison, Sales Receipt, Plan Information and Alerts.

I am sorry to inform this, but as per our Terms of Use, the customer is responsible for the charges incurred. However, I highly recommend using the services that he/she is now entitled to under their current subscription.

Sincerely,

Review: I signed up for an account on 10/12, with the expectation of having a trial period through 10/26. On 10/26, I was unexpectedly charged. I promptly cancelled the account, and requested a refund.

According to the Terms of Service, under their refund policy, I should be provided a full refund should I request so anything before the end of 10/26.

The company, by policy, is hostile towards refunds, and rejected my request. Rather, they pointed to the Sales Receipt, Purchase Confirmation, Plan Information and Terms of Use, stating that they provided me "with the specific date and time at which the billing cycle would take place." These are all intentionally misleading, evoke a sense that this is risk free, and only state simply that I have a 14 day trial that I can cancel anytime.

There is no discernible language presented to expect that the trial would end prematurely mid-day and that you wouldn't be able to request a refund if you didn't cancel before that time.

Review: I used the resume building site. The page offers free job listings and says "activate now", which I did. It does not require you to review the terms of agreement first, now I went back to the page and now see there is recurring charge, which does not list an amount. I was not advised anywhere on the website that I is 39.95 a month for building a resume unless I cancel a free 14 trial, it only said "free customized job alerts" . My wife saw the 39.95 charge on the account and canceled the service on 9/10/15 at 1250 pm. The 14 day trial ended today at 1139 AM. I am willing to pay for the 71 minutes of service that I did not utilize, but am being charged for a thirty day service which has already been cancelled. The company refuses to refund me for the service I have cancelled.Desired Settlement: The service was cancelled on the same business day. I am willing to pay for the 71 minutes of service which I did not utilize since they are not honoring the same business day and want the portion of unused service refunded to me.

Review: I went to this site to create a resume and at the completion of the resume and there were 2 fees, 1.95 for 2 week access or 39.95 for a year. I chose the 1.95 for 2 weeks and paid with a credit card . RGO collected the 1.95 then proceeded and collected the 39.95 at a later date using the billing information I had given for the 1.95. This in my opinion is false advertising and fraud as well as stealing. I paid for a service that I basically used just for that one day, paid for the 2 weeks and in addition paid for a years subscription that I did not sign up for.Desired Settlement: I desire my money back and some one to review this business practices as that I am sure I am not the first person to get scammed by them and probably not the last.
