Website is not transparent about how to withdraw one's money. Also, transactions take several days, which seems like a scheme to use customers' money to gain interest in the interim.

Robinhood Financial Response • Jan 13, 2020

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention and please accept our sincere apology for any inconvenience this matter may have caused you. At Robinhood, we pride ourselves in customer satisfaction. We would like to let you know that we take customer feedback very seriously and we are always striving to improve our services. Our staff diligently looked into your concerns. Please see below for more details.
Our website’s Help Center gives step-by-step instructions on how to withdraw money for iOS, Android and Web. A review of your account shows that you initiated a withdraw of $7.32 on January 7, 2020 and it’s expected landing date back to your financial institution is January 14.
Please note that a deposit can take up to five trading days to complete, this is the time it takes for funds to leave your financial institution and land in your Robinhood account. Robinhood is not making interest on these funds because they have yet to land in your account.
We apologize for any inconvenience this process may have caused you. We very much appreciate your business and certainly understand that there is always room to improve our services. If there are any other issues that need to be addressed, now or in the future, please do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected].

Robinhood Compliance

Noticed transactions being taken out of my account without permission. Upon bringing this up to them and also sending screen shots I was told that I had only invested 26.00 when I had invested 46.00. Stay away from this company. Any company that doesn't have a direct phone number for customer service is the first sign of FRAUD!!!

Further review of your account shows that you made deposits into your Robinhood account totaling $28.23. This is money that you transferred into your Robinhood account from your banking institution, not the value of your holdings. Since you withdrew your claim of fraudulent activity, we have unlocked your account so that you can withdraw the current balance of $8.18. Once your balance is at $0.00 we’ll close your account, per your request.

Well Robin Hood clearly has no respect for people’s hard earned money. The sent a response to my previous review.l that they would remove the two trades and unrestrict my account on Jan 2nd. I received another generic email not answering any of my questions that I asked one day prior to the 2nd. I just really don’t think that this is a good option for people just getting into trading. U will more then likely end up with your money locked up by Robinhood and it’s a long stressful hassle to get anything fixed with them.

As stated in our previous response to you, your deposits on November 22, November 24 and November 27, totaling $4,300, were reversed by your bank due to insufficient funds.
As all standard Robinhood accounts are a form of limited margin account which gives you access to Instant Deposits in good faith that deposits will complete successfully. This allowed you to place trades with the buying power we let you borrow with the understanding that your transfer(s) would land successfully. We gave you until January 2, 2020 to successfully deposit a minimum of $2,150, the amount that was used to trade, in order for us to lift the restrictions on your account. Since you did not make any deposits your account is still restricted. Robinhood is requesting prompt payment. Thank you!

Robinhood restricted my account just because I made a deposit of $4000 which my bank reversed because they were mistaken for ones of the unauthorized charges that weren't authorized by me and it happened to be on the same day! I had many a couple deposits with them since December 16 for a total of $4000 that were cleared and verified but now its been almost 13 days now and my account is still restricted with help whatsoever . They are just holding my money as hostage !! my cash account is 9560$ still under restricted. just for 200$ my money as hostage with Robinhood very very poor service

I have over $15,000 in my Robinhood app. I have successfully transferred roughly 18,500. I did three deposits fairly quickly within a period of a couple of days Totaling $2000 and change.
My bank did not allow the transfers to go through so Robin Hood has restricted my account saying I must deposit $4000 and change do you have access to trading in withdrawals.
I receive a response roughly every 3 to 4 days just telling me I have to deposit that amount I don’t have any money I have over $6000 in cash available the rest is in cryptocurrency. They took away the instant deposit. When I initiate A transfer the money is withdrawn from my account the next day but I noticed once they restricted my account from the first reversal which was $400 again after I had already transferred 18,500 it took roughly 7 or eight business days for them to show that my previous deposits were cleared. Which dropped my balance to a little over $10,000 after they technically already had possession of 18,500. I sent over 10 emails getting the same response for me to transfer $4000 which I refuse to do knowing now that they were receiving the money in two business days and holding my money for eight and on top of that again I owe them nothing. I don’t see how it’s legal for them to not allow access to over 15000 of MY money.
I have never left a negative review on any business and I hate to do this but clearly who knows how long this could go on.

They keep your money hostage for weeks with obscure rules you are never made aware of until you try and withdrawal. Terrible customer service and cheats people out of funds

Robinhood has frozen my ability to make withdrawals under the guise of some "security" review that they are conducting but it is obvious they have appropriated my funds to make investments or some other alternative purpose and that they are stalling before they can come up with the funds to allow me to withdraw. This is an absolutely reprehensible business tactic and you should avoid Robinhood at all costs especially as Square Cash begins to roll out their investment feature.

We take the security of our customer’s accounts very seriously. Therefore, when we detected unusual login activity in your account on December 9, 2019, we logged you out from any devices where your account was logged in, reset your password, and temporarily restricted permission to withdraw funds from your account. This was done only to protect you and the security of your account.
In order to restore access to your account and re-enable your ability to make withdrawals, we informed you of the steps to take which included submitting a photo of your government-issued identification. We received the documentation requested and lifted the restrictions on December 11.

I join them a couple of months ago me and some of my co workers and we thought it was a good idea but should have came on this page first because as soon as join and they get your bank account it's all over. They said you can get referrals and get free stock if someone joins from your link but then when you go on social media and instagram and tag everybody you know on it and you start getting the free stock now they want to freeze your account and ask for all this information and when you send it, your account is still on restriction. Then you keep sending them emails and they respond and say the same thing I was sending them emails everyday and I guess I got on their nerves so they told me in a email that my account was terminated. so I sold all my stock and they kept everything I had I told them were a bunch of crooks and I have told everybody I sent the link to, to get rid of them since they are going to the uk good because you have a bad reputation here in the U.S, I had almost $500.00 in stock and they took everything now that might not seem like alot but it is to me. didn't want to leave 1 star but you have to

You opened a Robinhood account on September 23, 2019, and immediately we received a sizeable amount of referrals from you up until October 3. We awarded you with stock referral bonuses for each of these referrals however, your account was restricted after review with the Compliance Department for further investigation. On October 4 we asked you to provide your government-issued ID and a PDF bank statement to verify your information. After review and confirmation of this information, we lifted the restriction on your account on October 31.
On November 5, your account was restricted again for suspicious activity. Our Support Team then requested you to provide pictures of your Social Security Card and explain the nature of your referrals and how your referral link was shared. Upon review of the information provided, it was determined that suspicious referral activity had taken place. On November 15, we allowed access to your account in order to withdraw your funds only. You withdrew $71.16 on November 20 leaving a $0 balance in your account. Any stock referral after November 20 were subsequently cancelled. Your account has since been closed.

They are very poor in customer service. It's been a whole day since I requested to do the update on my tax lot but still no response. Should I shut my robinhood account?

They need to be prompt in providing customer service. Where's the acknowledgement after I sent a message requesting the update on tax lot? They don't have customer service number. Ridiculous.

I don't think this company should be in business because of negligences showing by them. They have no rights to be in business. They are inviting legal troubles for themselves by badly treating customers.

Further review of your account shows that you reached out to our Support staff on November 19, 2019, requesting to have the tax lots updated for your sale of AXY. We responded promptly to inform you that if you request to sell specific lots in our system, we are not currently setup to show that reflected in your average cost. We assure you that the lots sold will be reflected in your tax statement. Our hope is to provide this feature sometime soon, but please know that this affects all of our clients, so we appreciate you patience.

The website is terrible. I'm trying to get into my account and I'm not getting to a log in page. Nor can I find a number to call. The support link doesn't work either. Very, very frustrating.

Taylor K I woke up and checked my bank to see if I had received a Zelle payment and found my account overdrawn. I have never been overdrawn. I went to the Robinhood APP and saw a transfer had been made from my bank to my Robinhood account for thousands of dollars! I never authorized this transfer. After searching the APP I found a recurring automatic transfer every quarter for $8250.00. I called my bank and fortunately I was able to stop the transfer. When Robinhood was notified of the reversal I received an email telling me I had been charged 9 dollars and they were investigating the transfer, I was also told to submit Passport, to verify it was me and to change password, I have done everything they requested,This was over 2 weeks ago and my account is still restricted with no resolution in sight. I'm a senior citizen living on a very limited income and very concerned. I haven't given up on Robinhood and have suggested to friends to try the APP. Taylor K

Further review of your account shows that the $8,258.00 deposit initiated on October 1, 2019 reversed on October 4. Even though you were able to stop the payment the reversal still resulted in a $9.00 fee. Please remember that Robinhood's system is purely pass-through, this means that we are unable to initiate any transfers without your explicit consent through the app. Our records do not show that any reoccuring deposits were set up and your gold membership did have an impact on this issue.
Once you informed our support staff that this deposit might have been unauthorized, they restricted your account to protect your security and requested documents to verify your identity.
After a thorough review of your account, we were able to determine that your account was not compromised and there was no unauthorized activity and no third-party access detected on your account in the month of October. Your account was unrestricted on October 21.

I purchased options to short the ETF based on an algorithm. I believed the next day the S&P 500 stock was going to go down. I reviewed my account after market closed and notated the options I had in my account to short along with a few other stocks.
After Market close all of my Put options was in my account. Then next day I woke up and noticed the market had gap down and my Put options would be up huge for the ETF and a few other stocks.
I logged into my account and noticed all of my Put options shorting the ETF was gone. I contacted support and they would not respond. I complained vigorously online since they would not reply to email customer support. They told me that as soon as purchased my Put options they was sold by me which is false.
They are a SCAM! Stay away. I lost over 2k.

Robinhood flat out lied to me. They said they were removing a restriction on my account because I was able to successfully send through the required documentation. This was like 5 days ago...now its as if that conversation never even happened, and they're asking for additional things I dont have, and when I ask about it to get more information on why this is literally the worst experience i've ever had as a consumer of any product or service, they just keep sending me generic canned support emails with no information. It's like ive been shunned into the black hole of their support organization...they're just planning on burying me with emails forever so that they don't have to resolve my issue. I'm literally in tears this has been so draining and so frustrating....I have no idea what to do. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY...IT'S NOT WORTH IT. SHOULD YOU EVER HAVE AN ISSUE YOU'RE SCR

I have invest some money with Robinhood in the past 2 months. Some of my deposits from my checking account were returned because I was not able to transfer money into that account in time for the deposit to go through which resulted in Robinhood placing my account on a restriction preventing me from buying any stock or cryptocurrency. The issue I am having is that with this restriction I am unable to withdraw over $2000 that I have deposited into Robinhood and cleared from my bank account back into my bank account. I have tried sending Robinhood support over 5 messages requesting them to give me my money back regardless if they want to allow me to continue investing with them in the future or not. I have not received a single reply in over 3 weeks from them regarding this issue. They don’t have any other available contact method such as a phone number that I can contact someone and resolve this issue. I have no idea what to do now or how to get my money back from them. Please help me. My account email with Robinhood is

I made one mistake (my bank transfer was not covered / a NSF) & they have frozen my account and funds for 5 weeks. I am older with health issues. This is a matter of income for me. I paid my fee. I asked for them to close the account - anything! Just give my money and they say this issue is not resolved! Wow, cold blooded. I see on these other reviews that this happens to other people too. I told them I would write a negative review a day until my money is returned.

On Monday 7/29/19 my account locked due to funds coming out of wrong account. Was able to fix it right away within mins. Next thing I know my account is restricted, tried to withdraw my money to go elsewhere and I got an error withdraw disabled. Now that doesn’t make any since. So I contacted support, no reply. Again I email support, no response. I call, it tells you to email support and then hangs up on you. I try to withdraw again... To this day still nothing.
This had to be illegal to hold my money and not allow me access to it or anyone to talk to about for 10 days. How can they do this to people? I just want my money transferred back to my bank.
Robinhood nightmare, buyer beware

The two deposits you made on July 24, 2019, one for $191.16 and and the other $100.26, were reversed by your bank on July 29 due to insufficient funds. It's been 3 months since I asked them to permanently terminate my account and they still haven't. I haven't used my account in those three months, because they told me not to, but I still get monthly statement emails from them. How hard can it be to delete an account? Just about any online services will close your account on the day of. Why is mine still not closed? You just have to delete the account. I have nothing on it. Everyone, please be aware of this before you open an account with them. They take forever to terminate your account.
