In response to *** *** complaint we would like to clarify any misconceptions regarding the facts and circumstances surrounding his membership purchase
*** *** please review Mr* *** signed copy of the Purchase AgreementYou will discover in point the steps necessary to cancel his membership“Purchaser may terminate, by written notice and the payment of three years of advance maintenance fees, all rights of membership without penalty if all obligations, including purchase price and maintenance fees have been paid in full at the time of notice, except that the three years will be waved if the membership has been in use a minimum of ten years.”
If he will follow this procedure we will honor his request to terminate the contract as requested

I bought a membership early this year$13,At the time, the one thing I wanted was to get a cabin at Gettysburg over the 4th of July weekendWhen I tried to make a reservation on the website in February, their website did not workWhen I emailed the Gettysburg campground, they told me that they did not know if they would have any availabilityThey suggested I come to the campgroundI live in Ohio, was I really supposed to Drive to the campground and hope that there would be something available?
I ended up booking a hotel for my vacation in GettysburgI deeply regret getting involved with this companyLike others have said, buyers bewareI wish I had been more cautious and read some of the other reviewsI also wished I had not fallen for the sales pitch and taken their materials to my attorneyThe fact that you cannot get out of the contract, ever, is a huge red flagAnd seeing their response to complaints I see it is basically "tough luck, you bought it"Also, that free camping they offer, there is a time limit, and if you do not use it within the time on the certificate, you lose itThere is nothing for free from this companyI would gladly take a loss to get out of this agreement

We are sorry to hear that the member feels he was promised something per an alleged conversation with the previous organization’s staff member
But, it would not be in the Resorts best interest to change someone’s contract because of a verbal promise.
We do hope that he will continue to enjoy the Resort under our management as he has done over the past two years

We recently went to an RV show and signed up to win a free camping weekend. My husband received the call and was redirected to Rocky Fork Ranch. He was told to come and check out the facility and have a day enjoying the grounds, pick up a certificate to receive a free weekend. When we arrived with our daughter and dog we were taken around the facility and than given a high pressure sales pitch saying they could only offer this to us today and it would be no longer available. The first offer was 13k for the three Ohio campgrounds and a $500 yearly fee. Or we could go for coast to coast for almost 12k and get discounts on cruises and condo rental. Than it dropped to almost 8k if he took out the three additional campsites and the high end cabins.
Prior to our journey to Rocky Fork my husband was told there would be no sales pitch. We didn't have time to research the company prior to because we did not think we were being sold any thing. I am glad we did not fall prey to their high pressure sales pitch.
As for being able to enjoy the grounds that wasn't the case. Very disappointed in what was supposed to be a nice day.

We have tried to contact our member. We called and left a message for him on 11/1/16 at 10:06 am. We have investigated the described electrical issues. The shower issue has been determined to be caused by the equipment of the electrical company. They will...

repair that issue. The electrical issue at his site has been turned over to our insurance company. It will be resolved. In consideration for our member’s inconvenience we are waiving his past dues and waiving his dues for the next 2 years.

 Just as the resort stated it is not in my best interest to continue to do business with a company that does not value my continued business.  It is my understanding that a verbal contract in the state of Ohio is a binding one.  I was promised the change in my contract by 3 different individuals. One with prior ownership and two with the current ownership.  I now ask since the ownership is not willing to act in good faith an honnor what was promised, that my lease be terminated effective today!
