Rumpke Consolidated Companies Reviews (124)

Rumpke appreciates the opportunity to respond and reach a resolution.   As of today, October 28th, a settlement has been reached with the claimant. Although Rumpke attempts to settle claims as promptly as possible, there was a delay in determining the fair market value of the vehicle....

Rumpke apologizes for any inconvenience the delay may have caused.

RE:  Complaint Number [redacted]
        [redacted]
To...

Whom It May Concern,
This letter is in
reference to Mr. [redacted]’s complaint regarding recycling service.  It appears Mr. [redacted] was delivered a
recycling bin and initiated service in 2005.
The account was placed on hold in 2007 when they had to move temporarily
and stated would resume when they returned.
According to the notes on the account, a route audit was completed in December
2013 and it was reported that the recycling service was being utilized.  The bin being placed at the curb on service
day initiates a contract for service.  The
account began being charged again January 1, 2014.  Service was interrupted on June 30, 2014 due
to non-payment and as Mr. [redacted] stated, per his request was not resumed
after his payment on August 18, 2014.
However, the account was charged for the purchase of the recycling bin
which we were unable to recover.
The account was marked to
be updated with the collection agency on August 19, 2014, however, this process
can actually take up to 30 days.  Mr.
[redacted] received confirmation by email of removal from the collection agency
on September 17, 2014 from our Collections Manager.  Rumpke would be more than willing to
reimburse the $10.00 charge for the purchase of the bin, however, would request
that the bin be placed empty at the curb for removal.  The removal would need to be scheduled.
If you need any additional
information, please do not hesitate to contact us at [redacted] between the
hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Thank you for your
assistance in this matter.
Sincerely,
[redacted] [redacted]
Cc:  Mr. [redacted] [redacted] Cincinnati Regional
Vice President

I would like to apologize to Ms. [redacted] for the service issues she had with her trash service. Ms. [redacted]'s account has been cancelled per her request and we did not bill for any services since she just started service in January. At this time we have not received any payment to refund. If a...

payment posts to Ms. [redacted]'s account we will be sure to refund.
Again, I am so sorry for the service issues and we were not able to retain Ms. [redacted] as a customer.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  Now that I have been informed that I need to acquire a quote for the removal of the material, I will do so at my earliest convenience and forward that information to the business. Unfortunately, I am not immediately able to do so. If the resolution is not satisfactory at that time once I have received and forwarded the quote, I will need to re-open the complaint. Thank you.

We would like to apologize to Ms. [redacted] for the service issues she received.  We have looked at Ms. [redacted] account and adjusted the cancellation date back to August.  Customer service tried contacting Ms. [redacted] via phone and left messages that we would be adjusting account.  As of this...

morning Ms. [redacted] had paid the past due balance on her account for the months of July & August.  This left Ms. [redacted] with a credit of -$25.85 after adjustment was made.
The credit of -$25.85 is being processed for a refund back to Ms. [redacted].  We are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.
Sincerely,

[redacted]’s complaint regarding placing out larger amounts of trash.  I apologize for the confusion if Ms. [redacted] was misinformed about what is acceptable for weekly service in [redacted].  Typically, the guidelines allow unlimited, “household”, bagged trash and one large item per week.  However, if there is excessive trash due to moving, outside of the weekly residential waste, it is billed at $25.00 per hopper.   We returned on Monday, August 22, 2016 and picked up the trash that was placed out.  Also, a representative reached out to Ms. [redacted] on Monday, August 22, 2016 and scheduled the remaining additional items for removal.   Again, I apologize for the confusion and any inconvenience this may have caused.   Please do not hesitate to contact us at ###-###-#### between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. if any further information is necessary.   Thank you for your assistance in this matter.   Sincerely,     Jennifer *. Concern,

I am writing in response
to Mr. [redacted]’s complaint regarding missing trash cans.  Upon reviewing the notes, the route
Supervisor has indicated that the driver did not remove the cans.  Typically, Rumpke does not dispose of trash
cans unless requested to.  However, I
have reached out to Mr. [redacted] to find out what kind of cans he has been
utilizing to determine the reason the cans may have gone missing.

I hope to resolve this
matter with Mr. [redacted] once this information has been received.

complaint regarding trash removal.  Rumpke did return to remove the additional trash that was at the curb.  Effective with the Consortium contract, individuals were notified that if they were choosing the limited service and were currently utilizing a cart, the rental carts would be exchanged with a limited cart and customer owned carts would no longer be acceptable.  They were told that they could give their “Customer Owned” carts to family or friends; however, they were to notify Rumpke so we could mark the accounts accordingly with the appropriate numbers.  The cart Mr. [redacted] acquired was a rental cart and was to be removed by Rumpke.   Rumpke waste carts are the exclusive property of Rumpke and not available for sale through private parties.  Carts sold by Rumpke have the word “SOLD” stamped into the side of the cart.  Mr. [redacted] should be well informed that any further carts he purchases from any party other than Rumpke, should have “SOLD” imprinted into the cart, otherwise, he is purchasing unauthorized property.  We have addressed this with him in previous complaints with the Revdex.com.  Please refer to Complaint number [redacted] which was addressed in February 2011.   When Rumpke receives information that an individual has unauthorized possession of Rumpke property, they will be working with the local law enforcement to retrieve the property as well as possibly seeking the filing of formal charges when appropriate.   If you need any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me at ([redacted] between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.   Thank you for your assistance in this matter.   Sincerely,     [redacted]     Cc:  [redacted], Cincinnati Regional Vice President

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. When the customer signs up for the service customer expect trash to be picked up on the service day, Rumpke has always ignored to resolved customer complaints and would never agree its there fault or mistake. The only concern I have is when particular address have a trash day it is the responsibility of Rumpke to pick the trash for that particular day what ever is minimum or scheduled by customer for example at 236 bass pond glen on Friday may 29th there was only 6 bags and 1 mattress on curb which was the responsibility of driver to pick up rather than just leaving there everything and also if any of the below mentioned property had extra trash who is asking you to pick that your job is to pick whatever minimum bags you are suppose to pick up for that service day when you are charging the customer. (6 bags and 1 mattress is not the whole house ) All the representative and supervisors in this business are very rude, they think they are doing a favor by picking up trash, they always want advance payment and don't want to do there job. I wish Nicholasville city would start they own trash service so people will not have to deal this rude company anymore. There charges are outrageous too .I want them to refund my advance payment I made for this particular address Asap. Regards,[redacted]

I need the correct size can .

Regards,
[redacted] Offering me a complimentary recycling bin (whitch are complimentary already) doesn't fix the issue we have with the trash collection. if they're not going to pick up additional items then I would consider a complimentary second trash bin to set out even though I really don't want to have to store it and this still doesn't address the employee who made the mess on purpose

RE:  Complaint

        Mr. [redacted]...

[redacted]

To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing in response to Mr. [redacted]’s complaint
regarding trash service.  Upon receipt of
this complaint a Supervisor drove to this address and found no sign of trash
left behind.  We do have the account
noted on April 1, 2013 that trash was missed and again on December 30, 2013, one
paint can was left.  I apologize for
these occurrences.  However, paint cans
must be placed next to the trash can without a lid so the driver can look into
the can to verify the paint has been solidified.  Liquids are prohibited from the
landfill.  There are additional guidelines
for placement of large or special waste items at the curb.  This includes scheduling at least 24 hours
prior to pick up.  We ask that Mr.
[redacted] call in advance to schedule any large or special waste items and obtain
any preparation requirements.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

Sincerely,

It is true, that our customer had moved the container we were to service. He moved it onto an apron infront of a garage that sits to the left of the opening to the turnaound we had always used. In order for us to service the container were it was relocated we still needed to pull into the old turaround area to make the swing into the container. There was no other option available to our driver. As stated before, had we known that the turn around had been eliminated we would have never even entered the property. As stated earlier our driver was at this location at 6:30, Civil Twilight was at 6:42 and sunrise was at 7:09 on that date. We investigated the incident on two seperate occasions once by a supervisor and once by our Operations Manager. Both managers came to the same conclusion.  Our driver would not have thought that the newly graded area was anything more than the turn around freshly graded. Especially at the time of the morning our truck and driver were on site.
We take the responsability of repairing or paying for repairs where our vehiicles and drivers are truly at fault. We also hold our drivers directly accountable for damage were they are at fault, that is why we deny claims when the other party's negligence is the cause. In this case our customer claims that our driver didn't use common sense but I would argue, When the desire is to keep traffic off any sort of of fresh landscaping the common sense approch is usually a visual berrier of some type. Simple wood steaks with plastic tape would have been sufficient. Even a car or truck parked across the entry to the turn around.
Also, our customer and The landscape comapany are one in the same.
Regards,
[redacted]

Mr. [redacted]'s balance has been cleared to zero. We do not stop service when we bill a customer and if we do not receive payment right away. We bill 3 months in advance before service happens. We do not automatically know when a customer wants to cancel service until the customer contacts us. ...

Mr. [redacted] can disregard the bill he received he does not owe.

Reference complaint ID [redacted].  After sending his last response to this complaint, Mr. [redacted], Rumpke Regional Safety Manager, called me on the phone.  During that phone conversation we shared knowledge and Mr. [redacted] agreed to pay $100 to cover most of the cost to replace the driveway traffic block.  I agreed to that amount. Today, Friday June 5th, I received the check in the U.S. Mail.  I consider this case resolved.Thank you for your service.
