We have been aware of difficulties with this project. BRLC has a contract with the complaintant for specific portions of the construction project. We are not, nor have we ever represented ourselves as, General Contractors. There are specific responsibilities laid out in our
contract with the homeowner that the homeowner contracts with a general contractor for execution. We have completed in excess of 90% of our contract and have been working to coordinate with the homeowner for overall completion. Overall completion will require work to be performed from a general contractor or their subcontractors in order for us to finish. We look forward to bringing our portion this project to completion once the necessary work is completed by a gc and/or their subs

*** *** The deposit I advanced was put down to keep the price of the cabin from going up and then added to the bottom line. No where throughout the whole process were we told that we would be incurring charges for making changes and having Blue Ridge help us find the right cabin to fit our needsHow are we going to know what we can afford if we dont go thru the process..?

*** *** To whom this may concern,Unfortunately there must be a communication breakdown at Blue RidgeFirst *** *** has told me on several occasions that the refund was being madeI have sent emails to the Revdex.com confirming thisNext, the bank in question is ***Blue Ridge had their contact, his name is ***, at that bank call me and we did attempt to get the payment down however his last attempt was *** a monthWhich I believe is over *** was a very nice man who did everything he could however his last words to me were "I'm sorry I can't help".Next is the fact that Blue Ridge has completely avoided my calls and emails for months now and with that said I do not believe I would want to have a house built by them for fear of the same treatment on any issues that would ariseThe relationship is unrepairable.Next is the fact that at every chance I was told if I could not afford the house that the refund would be made, it was even Julie and Tom, two sales persons, that sated my fears by telling me to add the stipulation in the contract.Next is the fact that when you add *** for the house, *** for the general contractor, and *** to add the land to the loan which is law, you come up with *** dollars and when you enter that number with a *** dollar down payment on the Blue Ridge Website mortgage calculator you come up with ***. So at this time I would like my deposit back.Thank you,*** ***

The plumber is completing the rough in for the upstairs today. We will ensure that a door slab is installed from the basement to the main level of the house this week. Please contact us when the HVAC rough in is complete so that we may come and complete the trim out of the interior. We will need to be informed as to the installation of the deck footers before we will be able to proceed with the porches and decks portion of our contract

All items in question have been remedied to the customer's satisfaction as of January 25, Thank you, Wanda W***

The companys position is the same now as it was years agoThe customer made drastic changes to the scope of work on the interior finish of the home once it was delivered, these changes were not in the original contractiethey wanted our standard wooden tongue and groove wall board replaced
with sheet rock, which substantially increased the time and work allocated to complete the homealso, an additional room was added to the porch and deck system that was not originally contractedan agreement was made to split the costwe are not aware of any structural issues

Contrary to the customer's statement, we assisted a bank in complying with the request to keep the monthly payment under $*** and meeting the contingency assigned to the contractWe currently have a legally binding contract of approximately $*** and will agree to honor our price for an
additional six (6) months which will allow the customer the opportunity to explore other financing options. Thank you, *** ** *** ***, President, Blue Ridge Log Cabins, LLC

***, per *** by the time the complaint had reached BRLC, the issues had already been addressed, the correct number of shingle rows were installed and the metal trim were replaced, there are no leaks in the roofThanks, *** ***Administrative AssistantBlue Ridge Log Cabins*** ***

I read what is said ,PUT there is still trouble with the roof line 12 -12 pitch to a 8-12 roof line at the bottom where the fascia is it should be the same height . the 12-12 is about 2ft higher that is not the way it is on the drawings, there is a large hole on both sides at the bottom of the eve . the back porch is not the way it is on the drawings –blueprints show a 2-12 not a 3- 12 and getting into the trim of the windows .  [redacted]Purchasing/ QC ManagerAISC Fabricator[redacted] [redacted]

I forwarded a copy of the contract which has "Special Terms" listed on the very front page. Those terms include that contracting costs would not exceed $80,000. We agreed to increase that amount prior to closing with [redacted] bank in February of 2016. We told BRLC that we didn't know any General Contractors and they assured us they would find GC's for us. They found sub-contractors and the one who received money was not licensed in NC and working under the GC license of one of their employees (something we were never told). [redacted] Homes is the GC and it is owned by Jerry P[redacted]. Even [redacted] bank was not told that our GC didn't own [redacted] Homes. We only discovered this after the sub-contractor who received $47000+ disappeared. BRLC knows very well they agreed to these exceptions typed on the front of the contract but now they want to ignore this. When Jerry P[redacted] was asked by Donn D[redacted] of BRLC if he would see the project through to completion, he declined. We have been unable to find contractor willing to complete the project for the money we agreed to with BRLC. AND BRLC HAS NOT COMPLETED 90% OF THEIR WORKED. THIS WAS VERIFIED YESTERDAY BY AN INDEPENDENT INSPECTOR WHO WENT TO THE SITE YESTERDAY AT THE REQUEST OF THE BANK AFTER WE CHALLENGED THE FIRST INSPECTION. This is the letter Donn D[redacted], CFO of BRLC sent us saying Porter would not complete the project. If they have nothing to do with the GC work, why is he sending the letter for his employee, Jerry P[redacted]?On Jul 25, 2017, at 10:42 AM, Donn D[redacted] wrote:Good morning, I spoke with Jerry P[redacted] about the scope of work necessary to move this project forward and would recommend the following on our part: I am currently lining up an electrician and a plumber to complete the rough in for the upstairs bath.  I will have this complete by August 4.  This is our portion of the work needed to begin finishing the trim out of the interior of the home.  I am not sure where the HVAC rough in stands (not part of our scope of work), but if any of it needs to be done prior to the walls and ceiling being closed off, this would need to be completed by August 4 also.  If the HVAC is not an issue, I will have our finish crew in beginning August 7.  If any HVAC work holds up our trim crew, the timing would be adjusted accordingly.  They trim crew will be able to complete the interior trim out by the end of that week.  I can then have the electrician and plumber back at the start of the week of August 14 to complete the trim out for the interior of house.   BRLC can begin the porch and deck work once the footers are in place.  It will take us approximately 4 weeks to complete that portion of the project.  This portion of the project’s timing is completely dependent on the timing of the footer installation which is not part of our scope of work. All of the above addresses the BRLC portion of the work, it does not address any work outside the scope of our original contract.  As I said, I have spoken with Jerry and while he is willing to help, he is not interested in entering into a contractual obligation for the completion of the home. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.  I will proceed on this schedule as I have laid out to expedite this project from our standpoint. Donn

Per [redacted], VP of Sales[redacted] were told last week that a full refund of their deposit in the amount of [redacted] would be mailed to them the end of July 2015.  We will mail a check to them tomorrow July 29th 2015 in the amount of [redacted] for a full refund of their deposit....

Thank you, [redacted], Executive Administrative Assistant

The customer purchased a home that was previously owned by another customer that could not take delivery. It had been on our lot for an extended period of time and the customer received a substantial discount. At the time of the submittal we had already had our service department working on several...

minor issues but not service request had been received. After this was received our VP of Manufacturing did a walk through and inspection of the home. Our service department is currently at the house taking care of several issues. Sincerely,,[redacted]

Hello, [redacted] Thank you for your follow-up. The check did arrive on Tuesday of this week for the full amount. Thank you for all of your kind assistance.
