Initially customer requested a refund and was provided one, but then decided to transfer to the next session
A few days before the class was to begin customer cancelled their course even though they
knew the course would be running and would be offered
Customer stated that they would like to cancel the course even though they clearly understood the course would be running. We provided the customer a refund and the customer acknowledged that they received it

I am rejecting this response: I rejected the continuing of the class because my mother was dying which they knew and refused to make any exception or take any proof of my situation as I offered to give them. I was not offered anything but to take the course within 6 months to a year but when I went to register this summer they had no record of such a transaction. of course I rejected their other offers because my mother was dying and was told she had 6 months to a year to live and how would I be able to complete any course with this information, I needed to be with my mom not take any course whatsoever. They knew the situation and they stood by their policy repeating it over and over to me without regard to my personal situation. of course I knew the policy that is why I continued the course but when I discovered my mothers situation would result in death I could not continue. The point is they make no exceptions to their policy when tragedy strikes or takes situations on an individual basis. I needed the money to visit my mom and I told them but they still stood by their policy as they are repeating  now to the Revdex.com. my mother lived 2 hours from me and I needed the money for the hotels stays but they still stood by their policies. They should have refunded my money and not offered to repeat the course when they knew that would be impossible for me to do considering my individual situation. Even now they are defending their policy even  though they put me through extra mental anguish at the time my mother was dying. I even wrote a pleading letter to the CEO of this company and received no response. I want my refund due to the extra financial burden they placed on me during my mother's illness.

Customer acknowledged and understood the terms and conditions of our services, specifically when registering herself online: "Once you have attended your first class, there are no refunds of your course fee" and with her signed consent form: "I understand that there are no refunds under any...

circumstances once I have attended my first class."  We have the customer's signed consent form on file.Customer was offered a number of exceptions, which we made out of compassion for her situation.  She declined all of them.  All exceptions offered expired at their time of decline.Customer's 12/7/14 Start Date Course included a free repeat.  This was good for the consecutive session (1/25/15).  Customer did not make a request or sign up for her free repeat.  Her free repeat has also expired.We asked the customer to continue with the course which is 3 hours once per week on a Sunday afternoon and delay the homework/practice test portion of it until she felt ready to complete it.  She declined this.  We stated the instructor would help custom mold the remaining hours of the course for her if she continued to attend.  She declined this as well.  There is nothing more that we can do.Dear customer, please accept our deepest sympathies and we're very sorry for your loss.

Better course than I thought and good company to work with. My son went through their SAT course and it helped him with his test taking skills. He liked his instructor and I liked the lower cost point. The company, to me, has a well thought out plan on how to efficiently hold the classes.

I'm extremely happy with my outcome and what the course helped me achieve. I came to the company with low motivation and a low test score, and low test scores historically. I did better after the course. My score wasn't super high or anything but I feel I did better than without a product or class like this. They seemed real friendly on the phone and answered my questions, and the instructor in the class was attentive and concerned about all of us. I liked purchasing this class.

What I really liked about Sherwood test prep’s course is that even though I haven’t been in school in a year, the class started out easy enough for me to understand and got harder from there. The instructor made sure to brush up on math and stats before actually going into the course, which really helped me. I had to work my tail off, but it was well worth it. I passed my GRE in the first try with the score I wanted. Good customer service, great instructor.

Review: Very unprofessional conduct. Scams people into thinking they're enrolled in a class when they're not and 4 days, or less, prior to the class start date, they email the students saying the class is cancelled. I'm not the only one who's experienced this.Desired Settlement: 1000 dollars. 500 as refund and 500 for not getting back to me promptly when I tried to get a refund.

I loved my class and instructor. They have a good system to approach the test. If it were not for the class I wouldn't have done so well.

My effort in the 6 week course was probably the most important to my success, but I couldn't have done as well without the class. I needed the class to help me focus, and give me pointers. It also kept me motivated.

Customer service was also good, both on e-mail and the phone. I recommend the company and its products.

Review: After postponing my course Sherwood Test has cancelled all scheduled test.

In March 2013 I scheduled a GMAT course with Sherwood Test. Because of a work conflict I had to reschedule it to April and then again until August 2013. They then told me they cancelled the August course and would reschedule me to October. Now, they tell me that class is cancelled as well and there will be no class until December but that is not a guarantee. My GMAT is scheduled for December as I have to turn in my graduate application by December 31, 2013. This means that the December course is not an option for me. Now I understand their policy states if I postpone my class I cannot get a refund; however, their policy also states that if they cancel a course they would offer a refund. They cannot have it both ways. Needless to say, they cannot keep money indefinitely for a service they did not provide. I am also being told that the original test date I had picked might have been cancelled as well.

Their warranty states as follows:

Transfers and Registration Postponement

If you decide to postpone your enrollment before your first class, you may transfer to any course that has a start date within 6 months of your original course start date without penalty; however, the entire tuition paid for your course becomes automatically non-refundable. We cannot guarantee any future course or location.

Company Course Cancellation Policy and Class Availability

Sherwood Test Prep makes every effort to ensure that our advertised classes are offered as scheduled. Sometimes certain circumstances necessitate a course cancellation (e.g., instructor illness, low course enrollments, conference room availability). Sherwood Test Prep reserves the right to cancel a course without prior notice, although every effort will be made to notify students as soon as possible. In the event that a course is canceled, students may choose to enroll in the next available course, attend an alternate location or receive a full refund. Although we do our best, we cannot guarantee our course offerings.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund.

Our customer clearly understood the terms and conditions of our services. Customer was provided a refund minus the non-refundable portion of their registration. Customer acknowledged that they received the refund.

After some back and forth I was finally issued a partial refund, which was basically my tuition minus a $125 registration fee.

Had a fantastic experience with this company. The customer service agent helped me quickly and helped me decide between class locations and class dates based on my demanding schedule. She was so polite and professional. She was very intelligent and speaks well for the company.

My sister and I paid and attended the GRE class together and had a great experience. We had a great instructor, an amazing class, and improved our scores from our first test to our actual exams. My sister did better than I did! Go Sis! Great product, also thought the customer service was good too.

Impressive customer service. I had a conflict with my course a few weeks before it started and needed to change cities. I moved for my job and they got me into a course 1500 miles away. Thank you for your help!

Review: Course that was signed up for was cancelled; asked for option to transfer to next course; was told that the running of the next course not guareteened

I signed up for the Sherwood Test Prep on July 24, 2013 (Order # XXXXXXX) for the course beginning on August 24 at Univ of Miami. I received an e-mail on August 20 indicating that the course would be cancelled due to an issue with the instructor. I was then given the option to refund or be transferred to the course beginning on 10/05/2013. However, after a representative advised me that the course beginning on 10/05 was NOT GUARENTEED either I asked for a full refund of the $499.00 paid and have still yet to recieve it.

Business' Initial Response

The customer was given a full refund and this was confirmed with her. Then after she was given a full refund, she filed a complaint stating that she didn't get the refund. This doesn't make any sense.

Customer acknowledged that they received the full refund back to their MasterCard ending in [redacted].

Consumer's Final Response

Consumer states they did receive a refund, but only after she had filed a complaint.Not before. The refund was received approximately 10 days after filing the complaint. The complaint was filed due the difficulties she was experiencing getting the refund issued.
