On 2/24/2017, Vanguard Investments received my application to open a new account onlineA few weeks later, I received a paper application requiring further information in order to open the accountI filled out the forms and sent them mid-marchOn 4/6/2017, I noticed a hold of $200,on my account by Vanguard InvestmentsAfter attempting to access my account online, I was directed to call customer service to grant access but was informed that more requests for paperwork were sent in the mail for me to fill outMy complaint is the following: between 4/6/and the time that I finish filling the paperwork and sending it back, Vanguard Investments would have my funds, free of interest, effectively utilizing free funds for their own meansAfter I requested the hold to be lifted and funds be returned until the account was successfully opened, I was told that would not be possible until the paperwork was submitted, therefore Vanguard Investments is holding my funds, free of charge,

I have some money remaining in my 401K at Vanguard I retired January 11th I called the company and was told to call them back when I receive my last checkI did and then they said to call back again after they receive notice from my employer I called again in late January and said I'd like to rollover the remaining money from my 401k into a Vanguard IRA, keeping the money in the same fund I was told I'd need to sign a form which could not be accessed over the internet and would have to come by snail mail I waited and signed the form and returned within business days Finally, on February 12th, I get an email stating that the account is 'terminated' but now they need another form signed "ira adoption form" Why wasn't it included previously? I called on February16th and talked to a Marie [my spouse thinks her name was Gloria] She was so rude and condescending When we explained we were frustrated she said "well, let me educate you......." as it turned out

IRS reported a distribution to me in of $ I have tried for two days to verify this employee sponsored account I retired from [redacted] in I have been unable to get through their security questions in able to very this account I provided my SS#, my date of hire, my date of termination, my date of birth I was unable to verify the address they have on file from 20+ years ago I have no idea where the distribution IRS claims I received went to since they do not have an address I lived in for the past years on file They did verify that they found an employee sponsored account for me but could not give me any information because I could not verify whatever address they have on file This is a fraud to have funds that I cannot access due to their outdated security questions They do not have an address I have lived in for the past years and will not give me access to my account

Vanguard Plans issued documents/records to my ex wife [redacted] without my consent Call me to discuss

In transitioning my father's accounts following his death, Vanguard representatives have provided horrible customer service First they sent me a host of red-tape forms to complete and some of them did not make sense Then they told me not to complete them and they would send different forms Then they started calling my sister to set up a conference call which was odd When asked about this they said that the message was for me and that I should get my information corrected, when I have been talking to them daily from my phone I really could go on and on with the mistakes they have made and their flippant response when the mistake is brought to their attention They really have a poor file system or poor employees I do not know exactly what is going on but they cannot get it together to actually get anything done This has been ongoing for monthsRepresentative are very incompetent and very flippant It is like Vanguard has created so much red tape to protect themselves from liability but it has actually confused the employees and no one can make sense of any of it or actually complete a task The biggest headache If anyone is seeking to use Vanguard as their brokerage company, I would strongly advise against it

I am respectfully requesting your assistance in resolving a matter regarding Vanguard, my 401K financial services provider They are preventing me from making a hardship withdrawal from my 401K fund I require the funds to address a family emergency, but the Vanguard customer service representatives have been condescending and uncooperative with me They are going out of their way to prevent me from withdrawing my own money I have been employed by my employer for the past years, and I am fully vested with my firm There should be no issues under the hardship withdrawal criteria established by my employer and Vanguard I submitted a request for the hardship withdrawal days ago As a prerequisite to the approval, supporting documents must be provided to justify the emergency, which I have provided to Vanguard I contacted Vanguard yesterday, to follow up on my request Their customer service representative was very nasty to me, and informed me that one of my supporting d

on or around March 9th, I requested to sell my stockThe disbursement was to take 5-working daysFinally on March 28th, I received my disbursement, but it was only ~1% of the disbursement quotedI called Vanguard immediately the same dayThey said they would investigate and call my back within hoursNever got a call backI called again, they said the saw in their system there was an error and it was showing that I was not 100% vested, but they confirmed that I actually was 100% vested and someone would call me back the next morningAgain, never got a call backI call them AGAIN, they said the same thing, promised another call back by a certain timeAgain, never got a call backCalled again, they said I would get a call back (this was on Friday, April 1stMonday I finally got a call back, but no resolution to the situationI was told I would receive another call before the end of the weekGuess what -- I didn't get a call back4/- I called again and they told me it

On November 28, @ 2:PM, I along with a Concierge from [redacted] , [redacted]  Enfield, CT [redacted] OR E-mail: [redacted] @ [redacted] .com placed a conference call to Vanguard Investments as I hold an IRA account The purpose of the conference call was to get information on what forms and policies I would need to transfer money from my Vanguard account to my [redacted] account We spoke with the representative from Vanguard Investment who told us Vanguard Investment would accept the forms/paperwork from [redacted] and no other paperwork would be required I inquired if the representative was sure I would not need any other paperwork because I've made similar transactions before and believed I would need forms from Vanguard The representative stated again Vanguard Investments would accept the forms sent by [redacted] and no other forms would be necessary Vanguard Investments indicates all of these transaction telephone calls are rec

I applied for a Hardship withdrawal on Oct 9th and after spending $in overnight charges getting all the right info to Vanguard on my medical withdrawal by the 16th of Oct I was informed on my phone call to Vanguard on the 18th that all the paperwork was in and the withdrawal was approved that the sale of my stock would take place on the 18th and the funds would proceed to my bank and that it would to business days to be in my accountI noticed that on Oct 20th that my balance had not changed as of Fri the 20th I placed a call to Vanguard and talked to a person named Shanique and she was quite rude telling me that this process take to business days to process and that I was not giving it enough time and I stated that no shares had been sold from my accountWell now it is the 23th of Oct and still no transactions on my account so I call Vanguard again and I speak with Connie C and she informs me the the notes show that the withdraw was approved and placed on Oct 18th but

My research on Vanguard reviews is eerily similar to my own experience In short, Vanguard is holding my money hostage They apparently have a pattern of behavior designed to alienate customers and avoid responsibility They have acted in insulting, condescending, utterly unhelpful and abusive manners I agree that the attitude of every single one of several Vanguard employees is beyond atrocious and frankly I cannot understand how they are still in business They have outright failed and refused to transfer an IRA despite (take your pick) receiving all of the paperwork yet repeatedly asking for duplicate items, running one around in useless circles designed to intimidate and harass, failing to act openly, honestly and directly, avoid doing the work, and frankly questionably acting in violation of the law The concept of "due diligence" is foreign to them and they could not give a hoot about the consumer I will be withdrawing my accounts from this atrocious company as the only way to make a difference is by not enabling these unethical and potentially unlawful conduct I highly caution anyone considering doing business with this company from ever dealing with them

Company sponsored 401K termination withdrawal: I am eligible for 67% vesting of my total balance given that I served three years from Jun 2012-Jun However, Vanguard has only honored 33% of the vesting balance ($before tax) for the distribution and the remaining 34% was marked as "forfeiture"

I have been investing money in an IRA over the past years with VanguardAbout a month ago they were able to stop a fraudulent attempt by someone to move my money out of my account to another bankVanguard froze the accountThey have me registered with key questions that only I can answer, voice recognition and they sent me a form to sign, to be notarized which I sent back to themThey acknowledge receiving it and said they would get back to me in a few daysI am in need of some money from my account but it is still frozenAfter not hearing from them for days I called yesterday, 12/18/and spoke to a Mr S [redacted] He said he would try to help me to get money before the Holidays but said he can't transfer me to the fraud dept and said I can't call them directlyI have given them all the information to prove that I am the rightful owner of that accountI am getting no answers and they are holding my money as hostage

When my father passed away, I contacted Vanguard to report his death and to transfer my father's IRA to my motherI also had my father's name removed from the joint accountSince I already had agent authorization on the accounts, I asked Vanguard if I needed to re-accomplish agent authorization formsI was told that I would not need to do that and that the authorization would transfer to the new/changed accountsI explained that I lived out of state and that my only opportunity to complete the forms with my mother was during the time I was in North CarolinaThe sent the forms and my mother and I completed themWhen I got back to Georgia, I learned that the agent authorization was revokedWhen I corresponded with Vanguard, I was told they found the previous authorizations and that they would grant me accessThe next day, I received an email stating that I would not be getting access and that the representative gave me incorrect informationI am now miles away and without ac

I have an IRA with Vanguard it's a retirement savingsI have call them over times asking to speak to someone about my account for a withdrawalEach time I'm told that someone will call me back and I give them my number for a call backI have not receive a call back in a month I have call them back twice in each week for a month now I have ask to speak to a manager or supervisor and they will not let meI have been told they can only take my number and have someone call me(that as never happen)At this point I don't know what to do to get my moneyYour help is greatly appreciatedIf you can direct me to how or who I need to contactI'm in need of my money and don't know what else to do Thank you again for your help

Unfortunately, my husband and I fell on hard times about two weeks ago and we were behind on the rentWe received a three-day notice on our door, and after exhausting all our resources, I decided to take a withdrawal from my 401K with Vanguard On 9/submitted my request via their website and on Monday, 9/17, I faxed all supporting documents (application and three-day notice) to the 1-number provided on the applicationI waited about 2-days on the decision of my withdrawal requestI decided to call on Wednesday and I was told my documentation would not suffice as it was not on company letterheadOK, no problemOur leasing office reprinted the letter on their letterhead and I re-faxed the document on 9/ Mind you, during this week I called Vanguard NUMEROUS times asking, "is anything else is missing from the documentation and all I was told was that the three-day notice needs to be on company letterhead." Alright, easy and fair enough Since we are in a bind,

I have tried for over nine months to assist my mother in rolling over my father''s IRA after he passed away We've sent multiple copies of the death certificate, Wforms and rollover forms I've spent hours on the phone being bounced from one incompetent service rep to the next Yesterday I spoke with a rep who told me they had everything needed to create an account in my mother's name Today a different rep called my mother asking for a Wform that we've sent no less than times I don't know how to resolve this

Continued unwanted mailings including personal information fully six years after closing all accounts

We have two loans that Vanguard has claimed in default while my husband was recalled to active duty We have made SEVERAL attempts to resolve the issue, numerous phone calls, mailed paperwork that they have been unable to locate, faxes that we have proof of delivery that they can not locate and a power of attorney from my husband for me to handle this only to be told it did not have the information they needed then another with EXACTLY what they requested only to be told now they would not accept it, but not before they could not locate it either Line of Duty paperwork that has been sent several times they seem to never have received

I have been trying to roll over an employee sponsored 401K into an individual IRAAfter a lengthy process with inummerable road blocks I was finally notified the roll over was completeHowever Vanguard for some unknown reasons established acccounts, one has a balance, the other has the assets from the original plan. The account with the money in it was set up with an incorrect social security numberI was instructed I have submit a new Wform with a note requesting this to be correctedI completed that todayI am worried about what they are doing with my funds, since the incorrect social prevents me from accessing this accountI would like you to investigate the incompetence because I am beginning to believe it is deliberate to prevent me from removing the money from Vanguard
