Review: I deactivated my account in June of 2014. I deleted my credit card information as well. In December of 2014 they pulled my credit card information from [redacted] and authorized a charge for a renewal of $124.99 even though I had deactivated my account. I have emailed them on 2 separate occasions to have them take the charge off my credit card but I do not get any answers. Today I called the number listed on the website and after a prerecorded message they hang up on you. I want his fraudulent charge removed from my account as I never authorized them to use the card they did. The first card I used to join was a different card number all together and I never gave them this number. They illegally took it from my [redacted] account.Desired Settlement: I want the charge of $124.99 credited back to me and I want them to remove me from their site.

Response:

Dear [redacted], I apologize for any confusion you have experienced on AYI. Looking at your account, I see that you bought a new 12-month premium subscription through a flash sale for $62.50, meaning that you got the subscription at 50% off of the regular price of $124.99. When you first upgraded to premium, auto-renew was stated on the payment. Auto-renew and directions to cancel were included in the automated payment confirmation email we sent you right after purchase. We also inform members of auto-renew on their Premium Account page. On the payment page, we state that you will be charged each term (in your case, every 360 days) at our then current rate, which was $124.99. We had no record of cancellation before you wrote an email to us on January [redacted], so this is why you were renewed at $124.99 on December [redacted], 2014. The status of your premium subscription, including your next payment date, the amount you will be billed, and how to cancel the auto-renewal on your account, were always available to you on your Premium Account page. We don’t have record that you deactivated your account at any point, but I do see that you have been inactive on the site since June [redacted] 2014. We see that you did email in on January [redacted] from the email address listed in your complaint. In your email, you said that you had canceled this before the renewal date, and we replied asking if you could send us any evidence that you had successfully canceled your account, but you didn’t reply to that. As a gesture of good faith and as an apology for the confusion, I am going to refund the last payment that was taken out on December [redacted], 2014. The refund will be credited to the same account within 3-5 business days. As a reminder, we do have automatic renewal on all of our plans, so make sure to check your Premium Account page if you choose to remain a member in the future.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

They did not refund all of my money. I did in fact cancel the auto renewal and deleted my credit card formation. They used a credit card that they did not have on file that they pulled from my [redacted] account. They say they have no proof but I followed the directions very carefully and it did tell me I was successful in deleting my auto renenal. I have not been active on that site since I cancelled in June.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Dear [redacted], We are very sorry for any inconvenience you experienced on AYI. As stated in our previous letter, we did refund your payment of $124.99 on 12/**/2014 in full. This refund was processed on 1/**/2015, so be sure to check your bank statements for a credit back from us around those dates. Your account on AYI has been completely closed and I can assure you won't be billed again by us.

Apparently that did not work. I have sense gone through the steps of disabling my entire account as there is no apparent way to remove my payment information. I want a full refund of the following: $74.97

Review: On March * 2014 officially paid a social network. I signed on prior as a non paying user and was informed that there were numerous emails in my inbox by people would have interest in creating a dialog. It was a bait and switch which was my error to fall for it. When I finally signed on March * 2014 I noticed that the emails were basically icebreakers that they had made from users thousamds of miles away of which I would have no interest in. I suspected it but fell for it. I tried cancelling on the next day March *. I then had to wait for their offices to be opened but was told that the only thing they could do was not bill me in the future. This is a scam on the internet, my reaction to cancel was very quick but they wish to bleed every dollar they can get. Services not rendered.Desired Settlement: Hi [redacted], We do state that we answer all inquiries within one business day and we did respond back to you within 14 hours. Unfortunately, regardless of when the request was received, we would be unable to provide you with a refund due to our Terms.

Members always have the option of trying AYI for free. Users can browse, communicate with other users, and see what AYI is about for free before upgrading to our premium service which requires payment by either credit/debit card or PayPal. We are unable to offer refunds as stated in our terms of service.

Response:

Dear [redacted],

We assure you that all communications on our products are 100% authentic and initiated by our members. Our Icebreaker questions are a way for our members to reach out to a number of people at once. We do not send out any messages on our members' behalf without the member clicking on "Send.” Icebreakers are legitimate form of communication between our members, and a very popular feature on our site.

According to our records, you first edited your Control Who Sees You preferences on March *, 2014 at 11:00PM, about 35 minutes after you upgraded to our premium service. Control Who Sees You is a feature that allows you to opt out of receiving contact from people who are outside of your age and location preferences. Until you change your Control Who Sees You preferences, we allow any user, regardless of age or distance, to contact you. This is why you were able to receive messages from users all over the world. I’m very sorry that you did not avail yourself of this service earlier, but this feature has always been available to you both on our homepage and on your Account Settings page.

One of the benefits of upgrading to premium is the ability to read and send unlimited messages. In order to unlock the messages in your Inbox, you would have needed to upgrade, which you did. You first contacted us about canceling on March [redacted], 2014 at 8:52PM. You spoke with a customer service representative and we cancelled the auto-renewal on your account approximately 15 hours later at 10:36AM on March [redacted], 2014. This was done to ensure that you would not be billed in the future. You also wrote asking for a refund, and a customer service representative explained to you that all sales are non-refundable, as per our Terms of Service. Your premium subscription continues to remain active until April [redacted], 2014, and your account will not be billed again unless you explicitly resubscribe for another premium membership term. After you upgraded, you sent out 5 messages in your first 24 hours after upgrading, all of which the recipients would have been able to read because of your p remium status. You claim to be unsatisfied with our service, but you have still been an active member on our site. After you cancelled the auto-renewal on your account, you have also still been using your premium membership with your last login occurring one week ago, on March [redacted], 2014 at 9:48PM. The most recent message you sent was 10 days ago on March [redacted], 2014 at 2:13PM.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Nothing has been resolved.. Furthermore I thought I did send a confirmation. My apologies if it didn't get through. They have no intention of giving my money back from their scam even once I saw the services rendered, I tried calling them to cancel, they said I had to wait until they opened. Once they opened I called, they said it was too late.. This is obviously how they make money and I will fight it

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Response:

Dear [redacted],

We are very sorry for any inconvenience you experienced on AYI. As mentioned in the previous letter, we canceled the auto-renewal on your account 15 hours after you first contacted us. Seeing as you have decided to resolve this matter directly with your bank, unfortunately there is nothing else we can do for you.

Review: I joined a dating site by the name AYI, Are You Interested. Prior to my first subscription automatically renewing, I cancelled the subscription as instructed. This site debited my account for the premium even though I had cancelled. I thought maybe I made an error and let the expiration date pass but when I checked, I had cancelled in time for it not to. I let this go. Last month, Sept. 2015, I cancelled the subscription again. ONCE again AYI debited my account for the premium although I did cancel prior to the expiration date in Oct. 2015. When I called and spoke to a representative, she told me she needed the phone number which I call, I could only remember the area code, she said this was not good enough and would not refund my monies. When I explained to her this was the 2nd time they debited my account when I know I cancelled she did not say anything. I asked for a refund which she refused to give me. I believe this site is a scam. Once they get your information they continue to debit your account for the premium. Now they have discontinued my ability to communicate on the site, although I don't want to, but my point is they collected the premium but I cannot communicate. SO they have the monies but I do not have the service! What type of business does this? This has got to be a SCAM of some sort. I want my monies refunded and to never hear from them again. I want them to lose my information and remove my profile. I can see making one mistake but not two! I cancelled both times and they continue to debit my account. They debit my account $74.97 pm 10/**/15. I want these monies refunded immediately!Desired Settlement: I am asking to have the $74.97 refunded. I am tired of the games this site plays and I know I cancelled this membership, not once but twice!

Review: I told them to remove me from email list 5 times and i'm still getting emailsDesired Settlement: remove me from email list

Review: I have inundated with spam emails from [redacted] a subsidiary of SNAp interactives. Prior to March **, I was not receiving emails from this site. without warning or cause I started receiving multiple emails a day. the email said that I had an account with AYI. I have never opened an AYI account. I do not have AYI on my [redacted] page and I currently do not have a computer to setup such an account. My interactions on [redacted] are solely on my phone. I also do not have an app on my phone for this site. The site is using a picture that I previously used as a profile picture and this picture includes a picture of my deceased fiancé. I would never have actively chosen to subscribe to a site with that picture. I asked for my information to be deleted from the site and I was told that it could only be deactivated and that I needed to remove the app from my [redacted] site. I never downloaded this app at all. The only information they have is information obtained from securing privacy rights from [redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like my personal contact information and my pictures deleted from this site permanently

Response:

I’m sorry for any inconvenience you’ve experienced on AYI. The only way an account would have been created for you was if you explicitly granted us permission through [redacted], which you did on January **, 2012. When you add the app to your [redacted] profile, it asks you for your authorization to use your [redacted] information to create a profile. You cannot access the AYI [redacted] application without clicking “Okay” and therefore giving us authorization to use your [redacted] information such as your public profile information, photos, and email address. Only someone with access to your [redacted] account and login credentials could allow our application access to your profile.

When a user chooses to register for AYI using their [redacted] account, we automatically pull up to three photos from the [redacted] account, as well as any other information that they have authorized us to use to create their AYI profile. We are very sorry that a photo you did not want on AYI was uploaded. We have ensured that all your photos have been permanently removed from our system.

We have record that you last logged on April **, 2014. You logged on through our mobile website using your [redacted] account to log in. We have record that you performed several actions on the site, including liking and skipping through profiles in our Browse feature. When a user is active on the site, we occasionally send emails to notify users of new activity on their account. These were probably the emails you received. Every email we send has clear instructions and links for unsubscribing in the email footers. In your Account Settings page, there is also an option to unsubscribe from emails. These options were always available to you, and we are very sorry that you did not avail yourself to them.

We first received an email from you on March [redacted]. As per our terms of service, we respond to emails from our non-paying users within 5 business days. One of our customer service representatives replied to your email on April [redacted]. He deactivated your account and deleted all user submitted information, including your name, birthday, photos, and contact information. On April [redacted], you emailed us again saying that you were still receiving emails from us. We replied the next day on April [redacted]asking if you could please forward one of the emails so we could investigate why this was the case, but you didn’t respond.

With regards to your desired settlement, we assure you that all user-submitted information, including your personal contact information and pictures, were deleted from the site permanently on April **and we unsubscribed you from all email communications. Again, we are very sorry for any misunderstanding

Review: I accidentally clicked on a mobile ad. Snap operating as their subsidiary AYI created a dating profile for me using all my [redacted] information. I have deleted the app from my [redacted] account, I have deactivated my account and written them to delete my profile and account, and I have unsubscribed from all their emails. HOWEVER, my account is STILL on their site and I continue to get marketing emails from them.Desired Settlement: I want my information DELETED (not just deactivated) from their database and I want to no longer receive marketing emails from them.

Dear [redacted],We apologize for any inconvenience you've experienced on AYI. With regards to your desired settlement, we assure you that all user-submitted information, including your personal contact information and pictures, were deleted from the site permanently on May **, 2015 and we unsubscribed you from all email communications. It can take up to 48 hours for all emails to stop. Again, we are very sorry for any misunderstanding.

Review: I signed up for the dating site AYI some time ago and they renewed me without my permission around 6 months ago claiming I did not turn off the auto-renew function. I was not happy but let it slide that time and once I was renewed, turned off the auto-renew feature. They are claiming it was still on as of 9/** and billed me 74.00 on my credit card. Additionally, the renewal rate the last 2 times(original and their renewal that I did not want) was around 35.00 and then 44.00. This time for it to jump to 74.00 is also unreasonable on top of the unauthorized charge. I have canceled my profile and do not use this site.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund if posssible because I believe this is an unfair tactic that is used to get subcription renewals. No other dating site has treated me in this manner. As a jesture of good faith, if this company wishes to continue to operate in this manner and can not give me a full refund, a consulation would be for them to at least only charge me the renewal rate for when I signed up or when I was renewed before without permission(something around 44.00). For them to almost double the rate and then charge me without my permission is horrid customer service. Thank you.

Response:

Dear [redacted],

I apologize for any confusion you have experienced on AYI. Looking at your account, I see that you originally bought a 3-month premium subscription at regular price for $49.99 on September [redacted], 2013. When you first upgraded to premium, auto-renew was stated on the payment. Auto-renew and directions to cancel were included in the automated payment confirmation email we sent you right after purchase. We also inform members of auto-renew on their Premium Account page. It appears that you were aware that auto-renewal existed, because you manually cancelled the auto-renewal on this 3-month subscription on October [redacted], 2013 from your Premium Account page.

On March [redacted]. 2014, you bought a new 6-month premium subscription through a flash sale for $37.49, meaning that you got the subscription at 50% off of the regular price of $74.97. On the payment page, we state that you will be charged each term (in your case, every 180 days) at our then current rate, which was $74.97. This is why you were renewed at $74.97 on September [redacted], 2014. The status of your premium subscription, including your next payment date, the amount you will be billed, and how to cancel the auto-renewal on your account, were always available to you on your Premium Account page.

As a gesture of good faith and as an apology for the confusion, I am going to refund the last payment that was taken out on September [redacted], 2014. As a reminder, we do have automatic renewal on all of our plans, so make sure to check your Premium Account page if you choose to remain a member in the future.

Dear [redacted],

Review: I started receiving emails that was stated "I signed up for a dating program." In fact did not. I have asked the company myself to be removed and was curious to see what picture, profile was used and owner of IP address was who used my identity . It has been approximate two months of receiving emails and since my notification through email. There has been no response. Also, I want to know if there was defamation of my character? If this was advertisement of any sort, it is false. This company should be bound to the laws. For the fact that a company has thirty days to remove someone from an email list and was not shows the business should be accountable.Desired Settlement: I would also like to know what picture of myself did the perpetrator use and profile information. I ultimately want to know if my character has been comprised?

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I have the email that I sent to them under my current email. One was on April * and May [redacted], I saved it. The fact is the company is placing misleading links. If in fact my [redacted] was then hacked. Shall I deal with [redacted]? If security breach was made than it was good to alert me of such. Certainly will make sure my passwords are securely reset. I have never subscribed to this dating website. Perhaps the link was in disguise, other wise I would not go on a dating website. I still would like to know what pictures were exactly used. Is the company suggesting that the public members were able to see all my photos on [redacted] and activity? What was the "post" about me that men were able to look at for thousands of emails to be sent that stated that men were interested.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Response:

Dear [redacted],

Once again, I’m sorry for any inconvenience you’ve experienced. Unfortunately, we do not have any record of any email from the email provided with your complaint. As stated in the previous response, you cannot access the AYI [redacted] application without clicking “Okay” and therefore giving us authorization to use your [redacted] information such as your public profile information, photos, and email address. This means that AYI members would’ve been able to see your name, age, location, and the one photo that was uploaded (it was a photo of 4 people in what looked to be a backyard). AYI members would not have been able to see your [redacted] activity nor the rest of your [redacted] photos.

Only someone with access to your [redacted] account and login credentials could allow our application access to your profile. If you believe that your [redacted] information was compromised, we recommend immediately changing your [redacted] email and password for your protection. As mentioned in the previous response, AYI occasionally send emails to notify users of new activity on their account. These were probably the emails you received.

We assure you that all user-submitted information, including your personal contact information and picture, were deleted from the site permanently on June [redacted] and we unsubscribed you from all email communications. Again, we are very sorry for any misunderstanding.

Review: AYI app appeared on my [redacted] and then I suddenly started receiving emails about

Men contacting me because this is apparently a dating site. I NEVER signed up for this and consented to them taking my [redacted] profile and publishing it as someone looking for a date. I have emailed them at least 5 times in the past 10 days and am still receiving emails about men that are trying to contact me. There is NO phone number to call except for an email address. I have searched for a phone number and of course there is none. There should be a contact you can get in touch with immediately!Desired Settlement: I would like to know that my name/[redacted] page/ email address and everything about me is deleted from this site as I never authorized anything!

Review: I took a one month trial of their service. I optioned my subscription to not auto-renew. Nevertheless, I received notice from my credit card company that they billed my credit card for an auto renewal payment of $24.99 this morning. I attempted to call them but I get a recording saying they only answer calls Monday through Friday. I will attempt to reach them tomorrow. But I do want to record this as a complaint against them.Desired Settlement: Refund of my $24.99 immediately since they were not supposed to auto-renew my account.
